PIVA agreed to this approach, and I genuinely thought I was doing the right thing by being flexible and understanding. Fast forward a year: after hearing nothing and getting no reimbursement as agreed, Jim handed the situation over to their insurance, leaving me to deal with endless runarounds and no resolution. My patience was met with complete indifference. Then, after all that hassle, I reached out recently to rent equipment from them again, thinking they'd be considerate of my past flexibility. Instead, I was told they wouldn't even deliver to my address! In a community where everyone tries to look out for each other, I expected better treatment. We had multiple large projects with Zech: replacing an undersized water heater with two tankless…read morewater heaters and installing an upstairs laundry area. They took advantage of the fact that we were having other work done before moving and dragged out the projects to over a month - still not completing them before we moved in. On the dual tankless water heaters, which should've been a 1-2 project without a break in hot water in the house, they left us without hot water for a week. In addition, they configured the water heaters incorrectly so recirculation was not going through the house. I had to correct these myself even after spending upwards of 7K. When setting up the upstairs laundry area, they dragged this out over a month, made multiple mistakes (including stepping through the ceiling), and kept damaging & marking up the house. We had to pay multiple contractors to clean up, or complete, after them multiple times as they would say the hookups are done, only for us to find out they had not completed the work and had to re-open walls. Their answer to everything is "well that's the painter's job" - even though we had already cleanup after them multiple times. On top of that, they made big mistakes like not installing the dryer vent and mislabeling hot & cold water valves, leading to running delicates, wools, etc., through a hot water wash when they should be cold water only, leading to irreparable damage to clothes. Zech did nothing to make this right and blocked me when I was looking for responses. Unfortunately, I paid by check and cannot charge back. I will be reporting them to the CSLB, though. While Zech was recommended by my realtor, I would make sure you steer clear.
