I have been here since back in the day in the 2000s when I had my 1996 Accord and now I'm back with my 2010 Camry (and many family cars in between). It's the OG Smog place in Poway. It's kind of hidden on Pomerado Road tucked away with a bunch of other automotive businesses. Service was quick, friendly, knowledgeable. The waiting area was clean, had hand sanitizer, water, magazines and AC to keep you cool. Roger and Jay was super nice and made me feel comfortable. Sometimes going to a car place as a female can be overwhelming but they made me feel right at home and I was in and out in no time. Highly recommend this place.

They will do a smog on a short RV! 24.5 foot

I needed a smog check on a car I was selling, and even thought I arrived later than I should have at the shop, the technician was very kind and understanding. The check was done very quickly and efficiently. In my rush to get to the shop I grabbed the wrong coupon, but even this was honored. Quick work + great customer service + great price = 5 stars! read more

Been coming to Poway Smog Star Station for years so they've done all my cars. They are located adjacent to the Mobil station on the corner of Midland and Poway road so it can get a bit crowded in their little corner but they really hustle and try to get you in and our quick. The last time my car happened to fail because there was not enough data (I had disconnected the battery since I wasn't driving it much during the pandemic) but after they told me to drive a few hundred miles of mixed city and highway driving they gave the the retest for free. They've always been nice, professional and it's been great for all my cars. read more

Probably the quickest and easiest smog experience I've ever had. The young lady at the desk was incredibly friendly and the gentleman who smoke test my car was friendly also. The entire experience took maybe 10 minutes. The price was fair and I was out of there in a jiffy. Highly recommend these people. read more

I have been using this place for years. Today I pull up a few minutes before they open (8:30) so I'll be first in line. No one came or answered their phone up through 8:40, and then I left. The woman who was in line after me gave up around 8:35. The hours are posted on the door and online. This place used to be great and now they can't even figure out opening on time. If I were them I would reconsider advertising new management--not impressed. read more

The service is very fast. I drove there on Friday morning with no appointment necessary. As soon as I parked my car, one guy came out the garage and asked for my key. I was there for 10 minutes. After two hours, I was able to renew my vehicle registration online at DMV website. read more

Hello, I usually do not put one start comment, but for this place I cannot give more than one star, they wasted my time for half an hour and came back to me stating that the car came from Canada and they cannot certify while my car has been in California for more than 6 years and has DMV registration, this place also did smog certification for me 3 years ago but this time they just decided to not to do it, I took my car to another shop just a couple of blocks away and they did it in 15 minutes. I do not recommend this shop at all. read more

I called around several locations in the area. I was offered a ten dollar off coupon here which brought it down to the lower end of average of the places I called. Scheduled an appointment showed up a few minutes late to it. Not my fault cough cough girlfriend took awhile getting ready, but they still had my car being checked out within 5 mins. I was out and on my way from start to finish within twenty mins. The person in the office was warm and helpful. I wish whenever I had my car serviced it was this easy. Small place but they had ample room to have a seat and had some water. Oh and they even have free tootsie pops score! Took a extra one or two for the road shhh dont tell anyone. read more

It's busy at this corner with auto shop, gas station and quick mart all crammed into a small space. And they don't really have a nice waiting area. That's my only complaint. They allowed me to bring in my own oil and filter, which is great. They do have a special for buy three oil changes and the fourth one is free. If that is true, that's a great deal. I was surprised that they used all five quarts, when my car is only supposed to take 4.4 qts. But Albert showed me the dip stick and it was pretty much on the full line. Maybe 0.6 qts above, but that looked normal. Probably better to have a little more oil in there, just in case I burn a little over the next 6k miles before my next oil change. I was also a little suprised that they changed my oil in the side parking space with one floor jack. I'm used to them either having a pit, or putting my car on the lift. But they tech got it done quickly. Kudos to him. Thanks to Chris, Albert and team.

I've taken my car here over the last few years. Edith is always helpful and efficient, and this time around my car wasn't going to pass. She was helpful in guiding me in what to do and how to follow up once my car was fixed and good to go. When ready, she got me in right away and everything turned out - my car passed. Anytime you have to do a smog, you get that gloom and paranoia about passing. Her helpfulness and efficiency is perfect for getting you through the smog.
