We rented a boat for the 4th of July. The pictures online of the boat did NOT accurately reflect what the boat looked like in person. We were missing a seat, radio didn't work, literal holes in the side, the floors were rotted through in some places, and by the end of the day, the motor quit on us. We were only comped gas for $75. We are reasonable, and expected SOME wear and tear on the boat from being a rental. However, that boating experience was NOT worth $500. read more

Powell Park Team, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding the reservation of our cabin for the 2027 Big Bass Splash tournament. As you know, our group has stayed in the same cabin at Powell Park for the last 13 years. Upon our arrival on 4/15/26 Wednesday, and multiple times throughout Thursday and Saturday, we explicitly informed you of our intent to re-rent the cabin for 2027. We even attempted to pay the full amount on Saturday but were told to return Sunday once the 2027 tournament dates were officially confirmed. However, when we went to the office on Sunday to finalize the booking, we were informed that the cabin had already been rented to someone else. It is incredibly frustrating that after 13 years of loyalty, the cabin was rented out from under us despite our repeated verbal commitments and attempt to pay. I am disappointed that no effort was made to rectify this mistake or to check with us before giving the cabin to another party. This is not the level of professional courtesy we expected after more than a decade of patronage. JK read more

If you're coming to Sam Rayburn Reservoir lake, I would caution you with renting from Powell Parlk Marina. We rented a boat for July 4th weekend. Boat was full of ants, torn seats, mold, and probably a ton of other maintenance issues. We barely passed the docks when the boat took in water. We circled back to the docks and the 1 staff member was not apologetic, but just said ... customers don't care of the boats when they return it...it's unfortunate that business owners don't or can't take more pride in their products. What does the $600/day pay for? Certainly not upkeep OR staffing... Do better! read more

This place was awesome!! The cabins are just right for what we wanted, which was a get away. My husband and I just hung out at the beach and hung out in the cabin and watched movies! They have a cafe that has awesome food and friendly service! We give this place two thumbs up, 5 stars and a 10/10 rating. Come and enjoy the nice beach and cabins or if you have a travel trailer, bring it because they have a place for you!! Thank you Powell Park for a great 3day get away!! We WILL BE BACK!!! read more

Be warned, these pontoon boats don't look anything like they do online. They are a POS to say the least. Engines are totally worn out and doubt they could pull a tube. Was not a seat on any of them we saw that was not ripped to shred. I would not expect perfect for a rental but these are not worth the time to sink them. read more

Great food, service ! Great camping facility! Nice view of the lake. Also has large swimming area! Day use fee is required.

We rented a pontoon boat from Powell Park. The attendant was very nice, however the boats themselves were in very rough shape. The seats were ripped in the front of the boat. There were two non-functional chairs in the back, with the seats hanging off the base of the chairs. The ladder onto the boat was also broken and unsafe. The horn did not work, which I believe is a safety violation. Looking around, it seemed most boats were in various states of disrepair. In all, this was something we were really looking forward to and were originally happy to pay the cost of it ($480 for full day). We definitely aren't interested in pursuing again, given we did not feel the quality was worth the price. read more

This is a beautiful park to camp. Lots of access for fishing, boat ramps, store and restaurant are awesome as well. The staff was very nice and helpful during our trip. We will be back again read more

Powell Park Marina - Lake view - Fuel Docks Near Me - Broaddus, Texas

Rented a boat for half a day and played at the sandy shoreline and swim area. Boat was a little older but worked perfectly and was reasonably priced. We almost had the lake to ourselves. The family had a great time swimming off the boat and fishing different spots. The park was recovering from a huge flood, but was in the process of being cleaned up and the swim area was wonderful. All the staff we encountered in the shop and at the marina were friendly and more than helpful. All around great time. read more

Beautiful place. Lake is awesome. Cabins are nice and very comfortable. Cabins have coffee maker, bedding, handsoap, and toilet paper, but guests are responsible for the rest. Restaurant is closed for dinner Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Closest restaurants outside the park are around 30 min away. So plan to drive for food or bring food to cook for dinner. Can you leave less than one star? My sons fishing team wanted to book a room for an upcoming tournament. My wife called after hearing from other team, that they were able to book for one night. Long story short, the guy argued with my wife that wasn't true and that we had to book two nights. So we were forced to book two nights when we knew others didnt have too. (Shortage of rooms in area) Well then the Tournament got canceled. So we cancelled the rooms, got a confirmation number and everything. The guy refuses to refund the money or answer emails and calls. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PARK!!! The owners and some of the staff in the store/cafe are very rude! Our air wasn't getting cold in our cabin and they didn't want to out us in another one. Went to check out and the man wanted to argue with my wife about a key deposit?! Come to find out the fricking turd charged her card for three nights and wasn't going to mention it?! Whatever, done and never going back!!! read more

Don't take anything for granted. Putting gas in our boat at 5:30 am. No gas price sign. Pumps dark so you can't read. Walked inside and told them we only wanted 20 bucks and she said we already pumped $70 bucks. Ran out and stopped pumping. Their charging $30 per gallon of gas. While the food in the cafe is decent and I've stayed in worse fishing cabins, the rippin people off for gas is just ridiculous. Convenient for fishing but....... read more

They had no record of our reservation that was booked and paid for over a month prior. We arrived 2 hours after check in time and the cabin was still filthy from the last guests (not sure how long it sat filthy) so it needed to be cleaned. The $85 dollar cabin smelled like smoke and the floor made you want to wear shoes in the cabin. The aqua play area was an additional charge per day not included in the over priced cabin rate. I would not return to this camp nor recommend it to anyone looking for an overnight vacation. read more
