I regret we didn't stumble on Furr's earlier (because in our youth we did run into a couple of other car repair businesses in town that took advantage of our inexperience and naivete). But I don't regret the entirely selfish hope that the owner - who is getting on in years - lives and works 'til he is 150 so we don't ever have to look for a new repair shop.

They've been able to figure out issues other mechanics could not diagnose (or things the other mechanics got wrong/screwed up), and instead of cringing when I hear the price, I think, "Oh, that's not so bad." The owner and mechanics are friendly. I was sitting in the lobby, waiting for a ride, and everyone who passed through asked if I'd been helped, if I had a ride coming, etc. It was pouring rain the last time I waited for my ride, and even though they were closing, they offered to let me stick around in the lobby until my ride came. They're such gentlemen.

Okay, I paid twice the going rate for an oil change but whatever. When we left the dealership the next day the engine light comes on. We schedule an appointment for the following Friday to take it back in for service under warranty and they attempt to charge us $110 for an hour to discover that the gas cap was left off sometime between when it was oil changed and the time we could get in for warranty service. Since there was not anything wrong with the car they have to charge us. They knocked it down to $55 for them to tell us that. Keep your $55, never need your service or support again. Or your $91 oil changes. Love the car, don't need this. Never had this level of poor service at any Mazda dealership, ever. I can understand if it was out of warranty and we brought it in for you to diagnose, but this is just a bad decision.
