I am also a longstanding (15+ years) of Woodwards and this shop is clearly not Woodwards. I don't think they'll last more than a year or 2. Received an estimate of $12, 000 and got the work done for less than $2,000. They are not reliable or trustworthy. This is a shop that I would never return to. The shop under Wenger's new ownership is just another dishonest, over-priced garage waiting to take advantage of folks who need auto repairs. They advise me a part they had installed was the problem. The part was under a warranty I did not know about. They took care of everything and had be back on the road as soon as the new part came in. They where very kind, said they were busy but would see what they could do. They called me Tuesday morning and said my car was fixed!!! My car wouldn't start and I had towed it to the Nissan dealership. After paying $98 to diagnose the problem of a fuel pump, they wanted to charge me $900 to fix it. Feeling it was way over priced I called my landlord and he referred me to Woodward's Garage and that his family and him have been going to them for all of his car and truck issues. They priced me $300 cheaper to fix it and was very quick to fix it. They were nice enough to hold my car for over a week because I had to go out of town right away. Great customer service! I recently have had some bad experiences with various mechanics in different cities and wondered what the reviews looked like for my old mechanic in my home town. I saw there was only 1 and felt I should add my experiences. My family has been taking our cars here for almost 30 years. Extremely reliable and honest service. Fast, fair prices, straight talk and no upsells or unnecessary work. They find what's wrong, fix it, and nothing more. What else can you ask for? We have had numerous quick repairs done at no cost and some extensive diagnosis work done for very little or free. I personally have lived in various cities and been to countless mechanics with numerous cars and have not yet found a repair shop as reliable as Woodwards. I had an engine replaced here earlier this year. About 2 months after replacing the engine, the check engine light comes on again. So I take it back and they say "oh a coil pack is bad", even though I definitely replaced all of them before bring it in. They tell me it's all good then charge me for the coil pack and send me on my way. 3 minutes after leaving the check engine light comes back on. At this point I don't want to give Woodward's any more money just to have them "fix" the problem. So I save up the money to have another shop fix it and what does the shop find? Wires coming out of places they shouldn't crudely taped together, multiple codes are coming up on the engine. I know Woodward's is cheap, but their technicians are dishonest and inexperienced. This last part isn't a huge deal but it's still dishonest, I had a bullet antenna on my truck when I brought it in for the engine and when I picked it up the antenna was gone. I asked about it, but they all seemed clueless. read more

I was broke down, had my car towed to Woodward and asked to have them look at my car as soon as they could. With great service and speed, they "snuck" me in the next day and it was ready for me by 10:00 the next day. I never feel taken advantage of. My bill is always appropriate and they never sell me something extra. I would recommend them to everyone needing service on their car. read more

I can't say ENOUGH about this garage. When I went to pick up my car I gave him a 6 pack of Diet Coke and said, "you are my new mechanic". My exhaust pipe had broken and was dragging on the ground. I took it to Firestone and they wanted to replace the ENTIRE exhaust system for $1,300. I wasn't going to do that and my friend called "her guy" told him their price and I could hear him say "um NO". We took it to him and he squeezed my car into his busy schedule and called me before 8am the next day saying it was done. It was a $97 fix. I'll say it again...NINETY SEVEN DOLLARS!!!!!!!! Came in regarding a whirring noise. After hours of checking, they claimed they couldn't hear a noise and had no clue. I took the car somewhere else the next day, and the noise was identified and fixed in less time. This place is ok for oil changes, but I wouldn't go there for anything else. Just as an aside, their lobby is awful, and if you have a kid with you and its going to be awhile, you're not going to have the greatest time. They also won't shuttle you anywhere, or if they do they don't freely offer it. read more

By far the most over priced dishonest shop do not go there went in for a engine light and running rough they said they looked at it and it had a bad valve and low compression needed a engine $3300.00 drove it away went to autozone they ran the code no charge told me I had a bad coil number 4 cylinder so I purchased the coil 10 min replacement and engine light gone runs perfect paid $48.00 for coil. Not only does Woodwards do a top notch job on repairs, but they are willing to look at any other ways they can help get your car up to par. With me it happened to be a damaged front bumper that needed a couple of pieces to reattach it and a wheel splash cover that was damaged. All were repaired along with the brakes for an unbelievably reasonable cost. Today, I am a happy woman! read more

My car was running a little hot when i was at idle so i wanted to see what was wrong. Well i took it down to woodward to see what the problem was. They did a diagnosis and told me that it was the water pump and i blew a head gasket. They said it was going to be a $1800+ repair. I felt that this seemed fishy. The next day i went to pick it up and drive it to get a second opinion because there were no signs of a blown gasket or leaking water pump. I went to go start my car and it barely started. It has never started like that before. I did a diagnostic myself before i taken it to them and had 2 error codes. one was for a gas cap and the other was something else but not serious. I did a diagnostic on it after they had there hands on it and it had 6 serious codes on it. I had to get my car towed from there garage to a more trustworthy auto shop. They were trying to pull a fast one. I wouldn't recommend this garage to my worst enemy. read more

Had my Ford Five Hundred towed to woodward garage. Spoken with the assigned mechanic who was working on my car. requested to have a full inspection done on the vehicle because I wanted it to be safe to drive on the road. The diagnose charge was $90 or $93 Around that range. I received a call from the mechanic letting me know what all needed fixed and was given the cost. I agreed to have the work done and advised the mechanic if anything else comes up about the car that I need to know of to give me a call back. When the mechanic was finished with my vehicle he called told me I can come pick up and grand total came up to $2609 which I paid over the phone with debit card. I wasn't able to pick up during open business hours so I told the mechanic to leave the receipt and key in the car. when I picked up the car and drove it I was hearing a sound like something was loose pertaining to steering/suspension which I took the car back left a note stating the problem. the receipt stated road tests were done from after doing the oil pump differential and putting on all 4 new tires so the noise should of been noticeable when a road test was done. When I brought the car back, I came up to the shop and asked if the car was checked out the owners son told me yes that the sway bar needed to be tightened which they didn't charge me for the fix. when I drove the car off the lot it didn't make the noise anymore so then as im driving and press on the brakes it sounds like I need new brake pads because of the rubbing noise and steering wheel shakes a little when slowing down. now if a road test was done like the receipt stated and I paid for a full inspection it would have been brought to my attention need brake work done. if I had all 4 new tires put on, bolts, calipers, and oil pump differential done as part of work that needed done why wasn't an alignment done and brakes done. common sense, don't just put on tires without inspecting the steering/suspension. So now I need brakes done and whatever else might be a concern pertaining to brakes. I have also noticed having issues with fuel system which I was told checked twice and didn't find anything wrong but my car will crank up on its own, or need me to bush the gas pedal to get it to crank and noticed must be a leak somewhere because the gas will not hold very long. Now I need the brakes and fuel system checked out when all of this should of been inspected as part of a full inspection. I don't have all the money in the world to just be spending for mechanics to do half ass work when I am paying a lot of money to get my car fixed to have is safely driven on the road as a mother of 3. now I am skeptical of bringing my car back to the place because they didn't do their job as requested the mechanic just half assed the work just to get me gone when ive been nice, polite, thankful, and paid. Im very upset, all I wanted was my car fixed properly so I can be able to feel safe driving it and now I have to look elsewhere of who can fix my car without leaving any concerns out.
