I will never again enroll with this company. Shortly after enrolling, I was notified it was transferred to Cirro Energy. My negotiated rate did not transfer with the transaction, but this was later resolved. Today I received a letter from Power Express saying I was delinquent and they would turn me over to a collection agency. This was the first I knew of an outstanding balance with Power Express. I have perfect credit, pay all bills on time and in full. This is really disgusting - I never received a bill with this amount and truly this is the first I have known of this. EDIT: After complaining on social media, they did credit my account. I'm raising the rating to 3-stars for now as it still shouldn't have required that complaint to get service. If the service remains good, I'll come back and upgrade as deserved. I recently switched to Power Express, and my new plan started mid cycle. They charged me the minimum usage fee despite the fact that my first cycle was only 6 days. This fee was 30% of my bill and more than I spent on electricity in the 6 days. I called and they refused to waive the fee saying it "wasn't their responsibility that I started mid-cycle". And hey, that's not strictly false, but a little goodwill with your customers can go a long way. Next time I guess I'll opt to pay a slightly higher rate to a company that actually cares about customer relationships. read more

I WOULD SUGGEST ANY ELECTRICAL CONPANY OTHER THAN POWER EXPRRSS! I called to put my billing information on their system that way my bills would be drafted automatically and they failed to set my account up not once but twice. I was charged late fees each time. Both times they didn't nothing to resolve the issue. Second I received a monthly statement of over $300 for a home that is only 1200 sqft, and let me say that no one lives in the home.... I dismissed the first bill thinking it was because of something that happened last month or fees, but when I got another bill of $300+ the following month I called to see why it was high and they told me that my contract has been expired. Why not tell me that my contract is about to expire before it expires that way we can work something out.... or a warning email or he'll a email asking if I'd like to extend my contract. read more

Only company worse than Power Express is Cirro! Cirro bought Power Express and Power Express kept money from customers whose accounts now belonged to Cirro. Consequently, customers are receiving disconnect notices for service they have already paid for. Then the customers are told that they will have to repay for the service (that they have already paid for...plus late fees...that were added because Power Express didn't forward the money) or they will be disconnected and have reconnection fees added as well. All energy services offer the same produce in my opinion. The only thing that differentiates them is their customer service. This company has had the best customer service (by far) that I've experienced over my past 7 years in Dallas apartment complexes. You can get someone on the phone quickly, and they respond to e-mails just as fast. I just had to cancel service due to moving, and was given zero hassle. Highly recommend! read more

1st, they will not answer their phone if you want to talk about your bill or account but if you act like you are trying to sign up for new service they will answer. I am not the only one to post this review, but I received a notice that they were taking me to small claims court for non-payment when I made a payment every month. For the past 6 months my bill has gone up and up to the point I canceled my contract. I call customer service to cancel and had a customer service representative that you could tell didn't want to be there. Then I called today about a question on my bill and she also sounded like she was forced to work there. Any questioned i ask she had short response which then made me have more questions because subjects were not explain in detail. I still feel like i know more before I call... now i'm left with more question. I'm just paying the bill just so I can leave them behind. I signed up with a great rate with this company for two years. They sent me an email asking me if I wanted to renew at aproximately the same rate. I said yes, clicked the button to renew and everything was set. But my energy charges from this company have DOUBLED this year after renewal. I have spoken with customer service twice; they just tell me that electric costs more this year. NOT recommended. read more

I've used this company since 2015 I believe. I have had absolutely no problems with them. They are quick to respond. They are quick to correct things. They are always nice to me and I don't dread contacting them with questions. They have worked with me with two moves and other than them not having a plan that's perfect for my new house (great plans for apts) I will give them a few more months to see how the summer goes. They called me for my contract renewal and did not apply the renewal so that left me with a huge powerbill. I had to submit my telephone record showing they did call and did renew it (they claimed they did not). After that they credited my statement but did not reissue me a new one. At this point, they disconnected my power while I was on vacation spoiling my freezer full of food. What really ticks me off is I was not able to reach anyone at 10:00 at night to restore my power. I was on h old for two hours with no luck!! To be fair, I did not check my revised statement online which was $150. They disconnected me for $150 which was 30 days overdue. My power was reconnected approximately 6 hours after I submitted a ticket online and stayed on hold with no answer. They had also called me prior to disconnecting but I was at a guest ranch with no cell service. read more

If rated on the price point. Not bad in that area. Customer service on the other hand not so much. I guess this operation is extremely lean unlike other providers. I have had to call way more than my liking to ensure service is on the correct location. Instead of handling up on things they seem to like to pass the buck. I have been with this provider for a few years ( in which I loved) upon each renewal my rates change by a fraction of the original cost. They emailed me a renewal plan in which had the the rate I would be paying for the upcoming year ( I was satisfied and eager to renew), when I clicked to renew I had issues. I tried renewing my plan again a couple days later thinking it might have been technical difficulties on my end- still continued with issues not allowing me to renew. I did a customer chat in which they said I needed to call the office, I did. Upon calling somehow my plan had magically changed rates way more than the usual and when I mentioned I was just trying to renew the woman I spoke with said that plan doesn't exist anymore (at this point I'm getting a bit annoyed- why would you send me a link to renew a plan that you no longer offer- now I can't even lock in my rate ( that the email mention I could do). When I ask so what are my options they offered a me a plan $0.06 more ( even though that may not seem like much, typically it's own a few cents but 6, my price per kilo watt literally doubled -- so I'm a bit frustrated because the lady said it was competitive and to go do some research with other providers----WOW, just to think I have been recommending this energy to sooo many people ( I'm not sure if they changed staff or what but the people who I have spoken to there in the past were awesome and ready to help). Maybe it was because it was a fairly new energy provider and now they may have an established client base- who knows! I am disappointed with their customer service (customer service is to properly help or educate the consumer in their needs/wants in the best direction possible). Energy here in Texas is not regulated so there is a plethora of companies that will offer great customer service. Needed an electricity supplier in short time and Power Express was able to meet my needs. They have affordable plans for all types of situations and I found one suitable for me with ease. They were able to connect my power the day that I needed it to be connected and I was able to move into my apartment with the electricity already on. I joined power express in August and I have been very happy with the company. My bills have been consistent and low, since I locked in a fixed rate, and I like that they have auto-pay online, so I don't worry if I have paid my bill or not. I also have used their live chat feature on their website before, and had great customer service. So if you are considering switching providers to this company, I'd say go for it! read more

I spoke to two guys there (Think it was Cameron and Doug) both of which were outstanding and very helpful in comparing my old electric company/bill with options that they to save me money. Then when I moved they were able to again match up a plan that would best suit my electricity usage since I moved to a more energy efficient place. I think the service and price have been excellent since I've been with them for 2 years. I haven't stayed that long with any one provider because of price change. However, I am leaving now for that very reason. It's unfortunate when rates change daily that the companies crank up the kwh price even though their cost may be lower. So long Power Express. I signed up for a 2 year contract and had what is expected of an energy supplier at a good rate. However, when my contract was about to expire, I received a renewal offer that said my contract was due to expire at xx/xx/xxxx date and there would not be any early termination fees if I cancel within 14 days of this date. I chose not to renew with Power Express and canceled within the 14 days stated in the email. It turns out my contract went 15 days past the date in the email and I was charged $150.00 for early termination. I contacted them and received no response, and they sold my $150.00 past due to a collection agency before I even received a past due invoice. They are crooks and liars! read more

If I could give them -5 stars, I would. This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. They were rude, disrespectful, sassy, and uncaring. They continuously sent me emails saying they marked my problem as solved when they clearly didn't solve the problem. I will be writing the letter to the head of the company because this was a terrible experience and on more than one occasion I've ha do issues with them.There are much better companies out there with much better customer service. However, they didn't pay attention to the fact that the apartment was going to be ready on the 29th of December and not the 26th, so they started billing us on the 26th - though the documents were sent in on the 27th. read more

Horrible. Just received my first month's bill for the pay period of 5/18-6/11. The plan I signed up for would give me an $80 bill credit if I used more than 999 kWh in a bill cycle. I used 957 kWh. Nowhere when signing up on the Power Express website did it say a billing cycle would not be 30 days. I signed a 12 month contract with PE so common sense would think that would be 12 one month periods. But no. I called in and spoke with a rep and then escalated to a supervisor Jessica in Houston. Jessica first told me that she couldn't tell me when Oncor would read the meters, but then said if I had called in instead of signed up online, that a rep would have been able to tell me the billing cycle. I needed 42 kWh more usage to knock $80 off my bill and she would not grant the credit. She made sure to mention that what they did was not illegal or against the Public Utility Commission of Texas. They can't correct billing mistakes. They sent me a final bill which had errors,, so I called them and they said they would correct it. Then I get an email stating the new balance due is $109.00 but that they " will not issue a corrected bill". They actually expect me to pay what they say I owe without any documentation to prove that's what I owe, and more importantly will not provide me with documentation showing I paid the final amount. read more

They had my name assigned to a different address so I got a delinquent notice and they called me. They didn't switch me when they were supposed to so I went to a high rate on TXU. The whole thing was a disaster and says a lot about their procedures which clearly lack oversight. They are paying me the difference in the bill but the delinquent bill that I paid in error they are telling me I have to wait until THEY get it back. Ridiculous. Web site could be more user-friendly; called and got a quote for a price higher than my current provider was offering; said thanks, but no thanks.... all of a sudden there was a new unadvertised rate that was much more competitive. Would that they are more upfront about different price plans; seems somewhat deceptive to operate this way. By the way, took their "unadvertised special offer".
