Over stuffed and delicious! We ordered take out and in less than 30 minutes we had subs and salads. Husband got the BLT salad, I got an Italian salad both stuffed to the brim with meat, toppings and lettuce. Our friend go the turkey and ham sub, his also was overstuffed with meat and toppings. Also ordered the pasta salad which could almost be a meal in itself! We had leftovers for another day as well. Only complaint is the ranch dressing I ordered was a bit bland so I used the oil/vinegar combo they included with my salad instead and it was spot on. read more

Went there last night as i was craving a submarine or two and boy did these subs have a battle for taste supremacy in my mouth... first up i had a half Italian, as an Italian boy this flavor slapped my tongue.... As soon as i tasted the house dressing i felt like my taste buds were just hit by a heat sealing middle... the sub packed flavor the perfect combination with the meats, the bread was good as were the toppings... def a pleaser... next up was the club on whole wheat... kinda wish i got it with the dressing but that's my own fault... miss placed dressing isn't this mouth watering... it wasn't bad... but it just couldn't compete with the more delicious Italian, the wheat bread was good... my only complaint is i wish the meat was a bit warmer but again that's on me I'm anal and like my subs extra toasty and didn't request that as this was my first time... overall it was good food and i thou thoroughly enjoyed it... as it was a good alternative to jersey mikes which i like but this time i wanted local... and it was miles better then subway...eat fresh?? I've only bought food from their fundraisers but all I can say is DO NOT BUY THE PIZZA!!! I thought I was going to break a tooth on the thin rock like crust! It's seriously the worst excuse for a pizza me and my family have ever seen in our lives! It is disgusting! We got the Buffalo chicken pizza which was pretty expensive! It was tiny, the chicken was gross canned chicken in one big frozen clump, a dash of Buffalo and a packet of Ken's ranch to put in yourself! I cannot even tell you how disgusting this pizza is! It's the biggest ripoff to ever happen to my family! I literally almost broke off a piece of tooth on this hard as a rock crust - it's not even really crust - it's flatter than a pancake and just pure grossness!!! Do better! Love Powerhouse Subs! Everything is so fresh! Staff was friendly and very helpful as we made our choices . When We are hungry for subs this is the place we will go !! It's a little hard to get to but if you turn on Aldrich off Plank Road then right behind Sheetz you are there !!! PS they don't have plastic straws!! My new favorite sub shop! Sorry Subway! The other night instead of making dinner my dad decided to just grab subs. I was thinking subway but he said no, there's this new place I heard about! I was the runner for the order and went to the shop. The shop itself is very spacious with lots of seating. I went around 4:30 aka "power hour" where you get a dollar off subs, which made my order that much cheaper. For two 12" subs, two 6" subs, and a chicken salad, it cost only $34 dollars ! I had to wait a little bit because I ordered so many and there was only one person making the sandwiches. The sub itself was HUGE. It was delicious and came with a really good house dressing and you can choose toppings besides the ones that come with it. Finally a sub shop that equals the "subs from the shore". Completely different from the other sub shops in the area. More meat than lettuce, and the rolls are superb. The owner is always ready to gab while the order is being made. Friendly staff. There's nothing fancy going on here. They serve subs. Bread is world class, lettuce is fresh and crisp, even the tomatoes in March were edible which is hard to do. The meat they use is abundant sliced perfectly and quality. They assemble the submarine so that if you were eating in your car it's manageable. The 12 inch sub was $9 and is an unbelievable value. I got the Italian. I'm staying in a nearby Hotel wanted a sandwich and was glad I found this place. The house dressing is excellent and a must with any sandwich. If you like salt and pepper or spices on your sub make sure you request it when you order. The sandwich dressing is served on the side and is more than enough for the sandwich. This way if you order a 12 inch sub and don't want to get the other half soggy you can save it for later. If you're in Altoona there isno need to go anywhere else for a quality of submarine sandwich.
