So this power back which is also Genesis rehab here in Millville New Jersey has to be the worst experience i I have ever had pain medication is dulled out late for pain management so you're paying never gets resolved you ask questions they don't like they will turn around and walk away I'm 53 years old here for physical rehab on her feet total shoulder replacement but yet I feel like I'm in a nursing home with minimal rehab equipment only doing rehab 30 minutes to an hour the entire day the rest of the time doing nothing including the weekends the food is doled out at a sales Pace they feed you everyday a scoop of cold eggs and a piece of toast lunch and dinner is not much different I can't believe this location here in Millville Genesis which is our power back is still open and running read more

From the a moment we Walked In. Ughhhh. I wasn't Greeted. The older woman was Really RUDE and gave me a Very hard time. Not the Best way to greet someone from their First visit I called earlier and they said me bringing in service dogs would be fine. When I got into the Lobby and the young lady was pleasant but the older woman had major issues with me. Not to mention, I was juggling my mom and two service animals and to have more of a Hard time, was disheartening. My animals are registered and fully vaccinated and have their vests and proof but they wanted vet records. I asked for a card or Fax number and she wouldn't give it to me. She insisted on me physically bringing the paperwork to them. I'm about 35-40 minutes away and it is a BIG inconvenience. Do better and stop Being Rude and giving me a Hard time when I wanted to cheer up my good friend Who is Your patient there.... Disgusted and frustrated and Aggravated. If I ever Need Rehab. This place needs to be shut down. The level of care here is severely lacking. I assume the employees don't get paid much and boy does it show. Little to no attention is paid to patients or loved ones concerns. Food is horrible. No one seems to be sure of medications or treatments to be administered nor does anyone seem to care. I would give it a zero if I could a dear friend was there this past week for a short tine. not only did she not get good care I sent her flowers which they never sent to her room. I did check with florist and they were left at nurses station at 4:43 on 6/30 so they either kept them for themselves or sent to wrong room. some of the caregivers were excellent but far too many were not I remember when this used to be a good rehab sorry to say they no longer are I would avoid if I were you. read more

I wish everyone would call the Department of Health and report this facility. It appears to be this beautiful place. DON"T BE FOOLED. They are money motivated and do not provide the level of care they should. After being in this facility for two months, not once did they provide a care consult. There were no updates regarding progress, care or future plans. Due to the lack of full disclosure, this facility caused us to incur unnecessary medical bills that were originally covered at 100%. My family member was unable to communicate very well and left in his wheel chair for hours until he would slide down on to the floor so he could lay down. I received several calls that he had fallen. The aides are rude, unprofessional and do not really take time to clean the patients. read more

My mom was transferred over to Powerback Rehabilitation from virtual voorhees hospital after she suffered a stroke. First couple of days she was taken care of very well by a male nurse. After that it was just horrible. Went to visit my mom and few minutes later the nurse came to check her vitals and give her meds. Few minutes after she left my mom asked me to massage her back and feet, as I went over to her I saw that there was a tablet on her chest that must have fallen out of the plastic dose cups the nurse was using to give her meds. At 75 my mom takes meds for her health issues. And it was upsetting to see that nurse overlooked the tablet on her chest, specially since she was giving her water through a straw after she gave her the meds and it was right there. I took a pic of it before giving her the med and was moving the tray table to get her water. As I was moving it I noticed meds on the ground and as I bend down to look at it I saw there was another half tablet near the couch. As soon as I try to call my brother someone walked in to check on her. She introduce herself as nurse practitioner. I told her about the tablets and showed her the ones on the floor. She said she'll check on it. While I was leaving she told me it must have been someone over night because the "nurse on duty is awesome and very good". I told her that's the same nurse who was giving her the meds earlier when one of them fall out and was on her chest. My brother called the supervisor about it and she said that our mother had an episode where her sugar and oxygen fell and during that time the meds must have been dropped. The tablet on her chest was from that morning and there were 3 tablets on the floor, 2 of them were same one. So she didn't get 2 dose of that medicine. On top of all this our mother got pneumonia while there and they transferred back to the hospital. We are looking to get her into another rehab facility. I'm not the one who complains about things but the negligence here is beyond anything I have seen. If you truly love the person make sure they do not stay here. Our mother just spent a month at Promedica/Powerback on route 73,Voorhees NJ. She was discharged today and we were sad to have to say goodby to the healthcare workers especially Jessica the CNA 7-3 who was so sweet and met my mothers' needs above and beyond. Our mom has Alzheimer's and has had a setback in her ability to understand commands at times, but they all worked with her and loved her. Next, I'd like to thank 2 LPNs for their kindness and how welcome they made us, and mom feel from the first day she arrived. We did not have to worry about how she would be treated or taken care of when we left her alone in her room. My mom was in another Rehab in Collingswood in June for another rehab stint after surgery and everyday was a struggle there with her care. The food was terrible it was the same every other night and tasteless and very dirty. It was rated 4Stars and was not even a two. We do wish we knew about Promedica then. Th Hr employee at powerback name Kelly scheduled me for an interview via phone. Did i ever receive the call like she stated she would? No! no courtesy call of why she did not. So two days after the scheduled call I text her to see why she did not call. She stated she had the flu on monday but went back to work on tuesday. You would think that a true professional would let you know and reschedule it. If you cant trust the Frontline which is recruiting/HR dept than you sure can't trust or rely on the rest of the comapny. I give this a ZERO for unprofessionalism and unreliablity. My mom went to PowerBack from Virtua. She was completely fine but needed physical therapy. Six days later she was sent to the ER, unresponsive, two HUGE bruises on her side and in very bad shape. Six days and we never spoke to a doctor or nurse. Called over and over and over. Not one update on my mom until one hour before she went to ER. Please fo not use or recommended this rehab. read more

My 91 y.o. mom was sent to Powerback Rehab on 3\10\2021 from Jefferson Hospital for a fractured femor..The care she got was unacceptable. The rude nurses need to go work at McDonald..Nurses u call them?? I think not..upon discharge she was sent down to the lobby smelling like urine Her clothes smelled as well..she did not get her pain meds upon discharge. We were going right to the airport to take her back to Florida smelling like urine and was in solo much pain..they kept her oxycodone..I will take legal action as my mom fell on their watch..shame on u nasty people. Think long and hard before you send your loved ones here. I spent ten days at the facility and could not wait to leave. Day 1 - check in to a room that 3pm which doesn't have a working bed, tv, clock and partial air conditioning, 74 degrees in the room. Asked nurse Robin for pain medication she said not your time honey closed the door, never to be seen again. I rang the bell numerous times only to have the aid come in and say, we will be with you soon. I finally got my medication at 9pm. Well after there four hour between. Day 2- AC still not cooling the room. The room is a mess and my sheets need changing. Night nurses are like day workers, they can just barely complete their jobs. It got to the point where my wife had to call the location multiple times to get anything done for me. The administration at the Voorhees location is ignorant and rude to the point of telling at my wife for calling about my well being. The only bright spot of the entire adventure was nurse Chastity and Jackie the Respatory therapist were angles and could not do enough for me. To top it all off, I was discharged on a Friday and on Monday I got a bill on the mail for $30 for the rental of the TV in my Room. Laughable, cause the tv was old and the remote never worked properly. If I had to raise or lower the volume, I had to get out of bed and do it at the TV. Stay away from here if you can read more

Best rehab I'll ever stay at, the staff was excellent. PT & OT was 6 days a week and after my stoke 3 days after getting the virus was intense & made it possible for me to become secure enough to get from bed to wheelchair, as well as independent in the bathroom. Sorry to say new rehab facility, if you can call it that is a shithole. Rehab is a joke & I have to do exercises I learned at PowerBack. read more

My mom was in Powerback in Voorhees for a month in a half and let me just say I'm sooo happy I picked this rehab. First of all it looks like a 5 star hotel but most importantly all the staff was just so good to my mom. I was able to work without worrying. The kitchen manager and the food was amazing. Physical Therapy, my mom came out better than she was before she broke her hip. They did a wonderful job with her. Don't second guess this rehab. read more

This place has gone drastically down hill. This was my fathers's 4th time there and I used to rate the facility a 5 now I give it a 1. The let him go 4 days without attending to any hygiene issues and then lied on the report to the insurance company about his progress so that he was discharged way before he should have been. Awful. My mother arrived on Friday night after 10pm. Not one employee greeted her. She was set-up in a bed and left there with no care or human interaction until after 2pm on Saturday when family starting calling to find out what care plan was in place. We were told they were "short staffed". My mother was delivered a yogurt for breakfast with no spoon. She had to wait one hour for a spoon. There was no rehab. Lying in a bed is not rehab. Nurses lacked compassion. There is no communication with family members. The tv did not work. She was old someone would fix it. No one fixed it. Visitors were not allowed in. She checked out at 4pm on Saturday. Terrible experience. read more

Barely deserves one star. It only gets the one star because the facility was nice. Due to the nurses not fallowing doctors orders, my mom contracted blood poisoning. My mom had hip surgery last year and used them for the first and last time ever. The wound was oozing so the doctor ordered a wound vac. The nurses were too lazy to put it on. She there for contracted blood poisoning causing her to go back to the hospital. It took them six hours to get her records into the system and get her pain meds too, when she got there. I do not recommend using them at all. read more

After reading all of the negative reviews, I had to chime in. My father is at this location after having a bad experience at another facility. This place was actually a step up. Quite honestly, the aids are generally on top of things and do work hard. If you are alone and hit the call button, it does take time to get someone to come to your room. As far as the doctors and nurses go, so far not too bad. I had to request a blood test three times. Not happy about that, and can possibly see the issues that others talk about. Unfortunatly, I think it has something to do with medicare. Overall, if your family member is here or any other facility, they need to be monitored and watched. The rehab therapists are great and they do push hard. Harder than other facilities that I have seen. They also work great with the families. The amentities here are awesome. A bistro with above average food, a movie theater, fridge in room, activities and much more. Overall, if you are watching your love one closely, I would say this is one of the better places. read more

Absolute nightmare. From the day my parent arrived in this facility, I knew it was the wrong location - thank God I was able to get her move to another facility where she received excellent care and therapy - do not be fooled by the nice, private rooms - they are worth nothing if they don't receive the proper care. My parent fell out of her bed in the middle of the night and no one came to help her - and they did not report this to me as required by law by the State. When I inquired about it, they were manipulative and beyond unprofessional. The "medical" staff was rude, uncaring, just absolutely terrible. I don't know how anyone can work there and live with themselves. Avoid at all costs. read more

Awful place (Voorhees). Just like everyone says, no one answers the phones at the nurses station on the weekends. I tried from 9am to 10pm. I drove over to the facility and with covid rules in place, asked the lady at the door for a nurse to call me. Never received a call. Got through to the main number and asked them to have a nurse call me. Never received a call. When my family member presses the call button for help, an aide appears and says she cannot do anything and will get the nurse. And yes, you guessed it, nurse shows up 2 hours later if at all. Also my family member came home with a bed sore. Just unacceptable. If you are not sick and can do things for yourself with just some exercise rehab, this may be a good place. If you need more help, this is not the place for you. read more

We were very happy with the care my mother received at Powerback. Dr. S. Was very attentive to my concerns and worked with me to help my mom recover from the meds that the hospital put her on. The physical therapy was great. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. Of course every family member in a facility needs an advocate. If I could give negative stars, I would. So pretty to look at, HORRIBLE nursing and medical care. I am a nurse and I am aware this is not meant to be a hospital, but DO NOT send your loved one there if they are elderly and have any comorbidities (multiple health issues) aside from the rehab issue. First time there for Mom and she fell and broke her wrist. Second time there (at her request because she did like their rehab therapists) within 3 days there, she developed significant decrease in level of consciousness and a persistent fever and they NEVER CONTACTED US (they always had our contact info on hand). The most they were going to do was wait for the nurse practitioner to order an xray and oral antibiotic. By the time we took control of the situation and demanded she be transported to the ER (despite their attitude that we were overreacting) she had severe pneumonia in both lungs and had to be immediately admitted. Any medical professional worth their salt is trained to act quickly when someone's mental status declines abnormally and the individuals at PowerBack are incompetent and dangerous. Don't be fooled by the private rooms and pretty fireplace. Heed my warning - keep your eyes and ears open on your loved one if they are a patient at PowerBack, and keep 911 on speed dial if you love your family member. read more

Mom got C DIFF a severe bacterial infection and was hospitalized for a week two days after being discharged from Powerback. That's a disease you get from hospitals and rehabs. The place looks like a hotel and the staff is nice but not enough staff to care for the people. If you are younger and can fend for yourself you're probably ok but if you're a senior that needs more assistance and care please look somewhere else. Plus the physical therapy is not well run. Most of the time patients work with PT assistances. No consistency with PT which hinders recovery. We were warned but the look of the place was overwhelming. Don't judge a book by its cover. read more

This facility is a disgrace. The doctors and nurses totally disregard health care providers instructions. They operate in a vacuum and never inform patients doctors when they change medications. Also when patients doctors communicate to PB house doctors changes to meds they disregard instructions and do as they please. At the very least they should discuss all changes and reach united decision for the patient. They don't practice good communication and the patient suffers. read more

Therapy for my husband seemed good but other aspects of this facility are sorely lacking- food is routinely delivered cold, aides and other staff do not leave essential items within reach- call button, TV remote, urinal bottle. He had just had hip surgery and when items left inaccessible, tried to get what needed and fell. Discharged back to hospital on 2/8, today received TV/phone bill for entire month -slipshod billing as well read more

This was my third time at powerback. Once in the Cherry Hill area the next two were in Voorhees N.J. I could not believe how far they had fallen in probably 5 years since my last stay. They nursing staff and physical therapists were often pulled from temp agencies. Luckily for me I could take care of basic needs or had family to help. I am also a Paramedic. So I was aware of procedures. But not everyone is that lucky. The things I seen, especially with the elderly was definitely not right. Call bells on for hours. Physical Therapist coming early. When I wasn't ready, she left. Then I listened as she went down the hall to repeat the conversation with the other patients. She never returned until the next day. Where the same thing happened again. I worked with her twice. But some how I met all my goals when the insurance said it was time. The worst thing was I paid for my phone and tv with a debit card because they refused cash. The next day, charges of $200. started and continue daily until I cancelled the card. I can't prove it yet. But I only used that card for bills and had no problems for a year and a half. There were some good staff. But I would say 30%. read more

My children's father suffered a stroke 3 years ago, and is wheelchair bound. He suffered a setback last year and needed to be hospitalized for surgery. He was transferred to the new Powerback on Hoes Ln. Piscataway. What a lovely facility. I compared it to a 5-star rehab facility. The social workers and staff were of tremendous help to my children. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for the best rehab facility for their loved ones. read more

My grandma came here to get her strength back and her ability to walk again neither occurred. She received minimal PT and spent most of her days in a chair. The food here is terrible that I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. After a few days staying in this facility my grandma devolped a cough and wheezing in her chest. One of the nurses informed us there was wheezing after we had asked her to take a listen. The next day when we met with one of the doctors he not only told us there was not wheezing but he would also not do a cheat X-Ray after we asked for one. A day later my grandma ended up in the ER with pneumonia. I would highly recommend not going to this facility as they provide poor care to their patients. read more

Horrific experience. It has hell from day one. With Covid we could not visit but no one would return calls so we had no idea what was going on. Physical therapist finally called but made no mention of her fall earlier or the x-rays thereafter? They made an appointment for transport to a doctor but never told me but found out through the transport company looking for my credit card. Turns out the doctor appointment was made when doctor office was closed. Mother was never bathed and clothes changed twice in 4 weeks? We sprung her out and in 4 days in our care she has done far better than 4 weeks in their care. They left her in bed until insurance ran out. Oh and gotta love the idiot doctor wanting to pump my mother up with opioids because of her extreme pain and to change her DNR. WRONG PATIENT!!! How did they get my phone number? Insanity from day one and every day for 4 frickin weeks! Very scary especially when they WON'T communicate and return calls so no way of knowing what was going on. Evidently nothing. Their excuse was short staffed because of Covid but another time I was blown off because she was too bogged down with new admissions. Meat factory, store them until insurance runs out. Disgraceful and hide under the guise of Covid? Shame on them!!! read more

I would give it a 0 ( for the way I was treated and the aides there- mine was horrible! Since it has a beautiful hotel like atmosphere, I give it a 1. iI was there as a patient mid January 2015 ( age 39 ) and I cannot believe how they treated me!! I was there for maybe an hour before I spiked a fever, had LOW blood pressure, low heart rate, labored breathing and I couldn't control my urine. I asked to go to the hospital and they said they would call the Dr. on call. Well, that did not help me so I called 911 and went to the ER. They ran all these tests and couldn't find one thing wrong. The nurse called Powerback and they said because I went against AMA, they wouldn't take me back. I was sent home- I have MS; my left side is useless and I had just had surgery on my right shoulder where screws and a plate were placed in my shoulder. Luckily, my mother was my nurse all weekend. On Monday, Virtua called and they had forgotten to run the test on Friday. Turns out, I had a UTI that required 12 days of antibiotics. When I got discharged, we tried calling powerback to admit me & they refused. I was sent to another rehab center but it was more like a depressing nursing home. I only lasted there for 21 hours. I finally came home, my mother was my nurse and I had PT and OT plus an aide come to my house and improved my health. So many people told me that I did the right thing by leaving; if not, I could of been dead. read more

As other people have said before me, if I could give this place zero stars I would. I was recommended to powerback by a few people who had great experiences there in the past. My mother stayed here following colorectal surgery, until her surgeon insisted that she be placed back into the hospital because of the terrible treatment she received here. During her hospital stay, her ostomy bag was replaced every 3-4 days, which was normal for a case like hers. Once she was at Powerback they had to change it 3-4 times A DAY! Clearly they had no idea what they were doing but not once did they call in a wound care nurse to try to help, nor did the doctor on staff help with the problem. One nurse even wrung her ostomy bag out like a dirty dishrag once while emptying it! As you can imagine from constantly having the bags and bandages ripped off, her skin rapidly deteriorated (which is why she ended up back in the hospital). And a couple times when I would visit I would witness the incision from her surgery left completely soaking in fecal matter!! Sometimes for an hour or two before someone would come and clean it up and change it. There was constant problems with not getting medications on time or them just abruptly stopping medications that she was supposed to be on. At one point she was on antibiotics from the incision becoming infected while she was there (leaving a surgical incision soaking in fecal matter will do that...), they were supposed to give her them every 6 hours...she went almost 24 hours between doses and then they tried to give them to her again 3 hours later and again 3 hours after that, I suppose to "make up" for missing all the doses?? I'm no doctor but that's not how it works. I asked on more than one occasion to speak to Dr. Surrey who is the "doctor on staff" and I still to this day have never received a phone call. I also spoke to many other families while I was there for visitations and every single person I spoke with was unhappy with how their loved one was being treated and trying to get them relocated or get them sent home early. Please do not send your loved ones to powerback Voorhees. It may have been a nice place in the past but that time has clearly come and gone. read more

Zero Stars- Terrible experience with my brother. First he now has an unexplained wound that no one knows where it came from on the bottom of his left foot. The social worker Amanda Rhoads has no class and is a flat out liar. On Monday, Amanda said to me that she would assist my brother in ordering a fall detection system, since he now suffers from seizure and can not order things on his own. On Tuesday, she stated that she was assure he would have his fall detection system in place before he arrived home. On Wednesday, the detector was finally ordered at 1:00 he was later discharged that night. Amanda would not return my numerous phone call, until 30 minutes before she left her shift. In the conversation she stated, "I do not care about your brother's safety that is not my problem", which I thought was heartless and unprofessional. I then spoke to the on floor nursing director, Hades who said that he would be able to stay an additional day at a cost of $577 a day, because they are their for profits. I stated it was not about the money it was because his fall detector had not come in. A half hour later Hades was gone and they discharged him to another Genesis facility. The next day the floor director and the administrators Mr. Bauer was not available to speak to me! I gave them a chance to explain to me why things were the way they were but they chose to ignore me. read more

Patients are not given their allotted time for rehab, therapists do not take the time to check that they have the correct information, the doctors are never available, and the social workers are uncooperative and do not return your phone calls. For all the glitz and glory and the ohhhhs and ahhhs when you walk in, this place is a joke and very unprofessional. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing and what they say they will do does not happen. It took me 3 days to get a Social worker to come and visit my Mother for a Family meeting. The Nursing staff takes no initiative on handling questions and pointing you in the right direction and just says that's not my department. The aids tell patients I am not your aid and seem reluctant to help out. We were told that Bayada would come up and talk to my Mom regarding her home care before she was released and when she asked about it at the nurses station they told her all the info would be in her release packet and that we would have to call and set things up.....hello???? In the book provided by the Facility it clearly states that a Social Worker will take care of this before release. I can't afford to take another day off to make sure that my Mother is receiving the benefits her insurance company is paying for. Powerback Voorhees is an absolute disgrace. There is no way to give no stars or even negative stars so I have given one star. The care my father and mother received (they were there the same time) was horrendous. The doctor prescribes blood pressure medication as a regular course of action for all patients and as a result, patients blood pressure is so low that they are exhausted. I blame my father's death on Powerback's lack of medical care and compassion. In any organization, it takes a teamwork and there is a total lack of communication and empathy at Powerback. The facility is beautiful so it is easy to be "wowed" - don't make the mistake we did. Go anywhere else with your loved one except this horrific facility. read more
