When we arrived, everything was up and running as if it were daytime. All the games, rides and attractions were in service. I rode Go Karts for the first time in yearrrs and I actually came in first place. Me! That was dope. The BIG FUN though was all the water rides. Lazy River, pool tubing and the main pool were all open and full of people ready for a great time. We were treated to a DJ who understood the crowd assignment and shoutout to the most wonderful staff. All employees on this night were in a great mood and they gave party vibes too. The promoters didn't over sell this event, so crowds and lines weren't a problem at all. I had such a blast that I wasn't even mad about getting my phone wet. I'm looking forward to going back to The Funplex for another After Dark night out. I thought they were gonna shortchange us but that didn't happen. We were given the whole experience. Good stuff!

We went on a weekday during spring break. We came for a 7 year old friend's birthday. My daughter and the birthday girl had a blast playing all the things. One of the girls is under 48" so that limited the rides available to her. Some things such as the go karts need an accompanying adult. It's adults did not get the passes for ourselves so they weren't about to do the go karts. Just something to keep in mind when planning ahead. Overall cute experience for being local.

By far the cutest tea party experience ever!!…read more Attended their mommy and me tea party with guest appearance Ariel. What a lovely choice for this month being that the new mermaid movie was soon to be playing. There's sufficient parking on premise. Once you enter and check in, child is given the option to borrow a princess dress and shoes. We opted for our own mermaid tutu dress before arriving. Yet all their dresses and shoes came in different sizes and every child that picked them looked so cute. Children were then guided to a table where they colored a mermaid card stock sheet that will later be converted into a souvenir with Ariel and my child's picture for keepsake. How cute!! As kids colored, there was someone doing glitter tattoos. Ariel then read a storybook to all. Ariel then guided everyone to a back room. As you walked in the entire room was decorated with details towards an Ariel theme. The sandwich options were yummy! I enjoyed their cucumber sandwich. My child liked seeing her sandwiches cut into shapes such as a butterfly. She also enjoyed serving her own "tea", option of apple juice or pink lemonade. We then transitioned back to the coloring station to continue coloring and took individual pictures with Ariel. This was followed by dessert where kids got to decorate a cupcake before eating it. Once done, we headed back to the main area and listened to Ariel sing! This was an overall lovely experience all around! Great job Ariel and staff!! We look forward to doing it again!

I planned my…read morehusband a surprise birthday party while I was traveling internationally and Mark was really helpful. He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party! Really, what a great experience. My husband had a really great time. Thank you Mark and company!

The service was very friendly and appreciated throughout the entire night. The cocktail hour was one of the better ones I attended. There was a raw bar, taco station, pasta station, sushi station, etc. My favorite items tried were the sliced beef and chicken in a waffle cone. The beef was cooked to a medium rare temperature and extremely flavorful. The chicken in a waffle cone was a great balance of sweet and spicy with a good amount of chicken in the cone. The sushi was decent at best, while the stuffed rigatoni was tasty too. The raw bar was a little underwhelming as I was not a fan of the raw oysters, but I did not try everything so maybe I just had a few poor ones. The first course of the night was the estate signature salad. It contained arugula, baby greens with julienne apples and an aged white wine vinaigrette. It was topped with caramelized walnuts and manchego cheese. It was a well put together salad. All the toppings complimented one another nicely especially the cheese and vinaigrette. For an entrée, I had the chateaubriand. It was roasted in a cabernet sauce and garnished with caramelized scallops. There was also a side of asparagus, carrots, and potatoes. The asparagus was fine, but the carrots were too hard. The potatoes were not too bad either, very creamy and packed with rosemary I believe. They actually asked for a temperature, which was unusual at a wedding. I asked for medium rare, and it came out a touch over, but not too big of a deal. It was a nice sized portion with just enough flavor. I also tried the salmon Oscar, which was topped with lump crabmeat and a cream sauce. The salmon and crabmeat were both too dry unfortunately. There needed to be more seasoning present as well. I also tried the chicken caprese, which was stuffed with mozzarella cheese and pesto served with roasted cherry tomatoes with vodka sauce. This was another solid tasting dish, great layers from the filing in the chicken. Finally, I also tried the spinach and ricotta stuffed eggplant with a tomato-basil sauce. This was another satisfying dish and was not too heavy like I thought it might be. This had great flavor. Will I go back? Yup.

Through a search and reviews, I came upon What's Cooking. I had a very good conversation with the owner, who assured me that the experience was "appropriate" for a corporate group and a holiday event. The cost was high, but I chalked that up to the interactive nature of the event. I was told this would indeed be an interactive experience and while we wouldn't necessarily cook the entire meal ourselves, we would certainly be cooking and interacting with the chef. I was shocked, disappointed, and embarrassed with the experience. First, we walked into what looked like a kids birthday venue, with a giant sign that read "Happy Birthday Layla" (this was a white board, so at the very least it could have been cleaned off, if not had our event name on it). There were picnic tables and plastic table cloths. No cooking stations. We were seated at the picnic tables, and at our place setting was a plastic bowl with two mushrooms in it. This was the extent of our "interactive cooking experience". We did not cook -- we chopped two mushrooms and later, a banana. Literally. The chef cooked in front of us on a burner and showed us how she made the items. We sat at picnic tables and were served on paper and plastic. The food itself was fine (Chicken Marsala, sauteed spinach, salad (bagged?), avocado with bacon and blue cheese with chips, banana foster) and the staff was lovely to deal with -- courteous, polite, informative. But this was a FAIL from my POV and only worth one star (generously) bc the experience I was sold and promised did not match with what we received.
