These rip off artists took our 15 year old son's ATV and diagnosed a bunch of problems and then let it sit in their shop for 3 1/2 months without ever doing a thing, not even an oil change. Our son gave them a $250 deposit which they required when we first brought it in, so they could diagnose the problem. Well they gave a bunch of baloney excuses why they were taking so long and then said the make of the ATV was not good. They asked for more money & our son gave them another $230 for a total of $480 without anything being done. Well 1 month goes by and nothing, so we tell them we are picking it up and bringing it elsewhere because they have had it so long and have done nothing. Tom tells us he will refund the second deposit, but when we go there, he tells us it really should have cost over $600, but he will not charge us the extra money we owe. What!!!! They did absolutely nothing but take the wheels off and bad mouth the make of the ATV! This is how they make their money. They ask for deposits as time goes by and then take so long that you want to bring it somewhere else. We needed the ATV back, so we had to pay! So this guy made about $480 for an hour of diagnosing and that was it!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, THEY ARE LIERS AND TOOK MY 15 YEAR OLD SONS MONEY WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM! Once again, I had a great experience, a Powerline Cycles! Tommy and Marc and staff are great people! I am pretty particular with my bike. I have an 06 fat boy that's in showroom condition and Marc handles it as always as if it's his own every time I drop it off! Just had a whole Cam upgrade kit installed brake pads all round and primary chain adjustment. Marc did an AWESOME job as usual! I highly recommend Powerline Cycles for all your motorcycle repairs and accessories!! I just need to say I see a lot of post on here against Powerline Cycles.people complaining that it takes too long to have work done. People need to understand how businesses work and that all businesses deal with a lot of setbacks especially since ( COVID) As far as finding people that want to work, employees that don't come into work take days off parts are hard to get. Just need to have patience. Trust me, Powerline Cycles definitely tries to get your bike back as soon as possible. Me I worry more about the quality of work that gets done! I don't wanna shop that's just gonna throw my bike back together and get it back out the door! I want someone to treat my bike as if it was there own and Powerline Cycles definitely does that! I went there to buy a radiator because the one on my motorcycle started leaking. Tom Bruno the owner said he could send my radiator out to a service for repair. i picked the radiator up 2 weeks later, installed it on my motorcyle and when i filled it up it was still leaking. i noticed a bit of bondo where it was leaking. i told him this and he refused to give my money back. I dont think he ever sent it out, he just tried to do a quick fix with bondo. any company that services radiators does a pressure test. read more

***CUSTOMER BEWARE*** As a once loyal customer for over 5 years I can say I will never return to this shop. For over 5 years I have had my ATVs and dirtbikes serviced by Marc and Tommy several times and developed a great relationship being on a first name bases and as a customer who pays cash in full when it's due.. I've also bought helmets, riding gear, apparel, oil etc over the years knowing I could pay far less elsewhere yet gave them my money anyway to keep in business out of good faith. The reason for this post is to warn future customers. I had brought my Suzuki ATV to be repaired. It was not running. I told Marc my budget was $1K to see what he could do. I trusted them over the years to be straight shooters and tell me if they could or couldn't do the job. They insisted they could. I dropped off my ATV July 2023. I finally heard back in October 2023 that after doing their full diagnostics and minor repairs they had hit the $1K in work. I went to follow up with Marc and Tommy and they stated that they were able to get the ATV running and took it for multiple rides around the parking lot but believed in their expert opinion the fuel pump was the reason it was not running 100%. The part would cost $350 and labor would be another $350 to install. After squaring up with them the $1K I owed at this point in cash I agreed for the fuel pump to be installed. I received a phone call January 2024 from Marc stating the fuel pump has been installed that my ATV still does not run 100%. After 6 months of my ATV being in their shop I went over to speak with Marc and Tommy. Marc went on to tell me that they did have my ATV running numerous times and had taken it for a series of laps around the parking lot, during that time they had snapped the clutch cable and that there was nothing more they believed they could do to get my ATV running 100%. I said I'm taking my ATV just start it up so I can see what condition it is in for my records. My ATV did not start. Marc went on to tell me I owe the $700 for the fuel pump and its installation AND $25 for the new clutch cable they installed after snapping my old one. In total they charged me $1725 in repairs that was in the end no better condition than the day I brought it to them. They didn't take a dime off their price of "work" they claimed they did. Completely unprofessional and had no remorse, they just wanted the $$$. They refuse to admit not being capable to do a job. They will charge their returning clients full price for unsatisfactory work. Poor business. They could have easily made up the $$$ they took off their poor work in other sales with me as a returning customer but now I'll be taking my cash to Dutchess Rec. read more

These guys are great. Mark and Tom are extremely helpful and for a busy shop they take the time to talk to you about your issue and will even drop ship parts to you if you want to do the work yourself. They did this for several things I had to get done. Went for a fuel injector tuning and he adjusted my chain and saw to a few other issues while at it. I'm please to support this business and wish more shops were like them. Powerline cycles is about 1.5 hours away, and thou they are the closest beta dealership to me I would gladly take that drive rather than go to the shops around me (beta or not). Highly disappointed with this shop after all the positive reviews. I got my bike serviced here for carb issues (bike was difficult to start) along with some minor exterior work. The wait time can exceed 3-4 weeks for your bike, I understand this can be expected during warmer months. My issue began with the lack of communication between the shop and myself. At one point they forgot to order a part 1/2 through the repair, adding more time. A Minor inconvenience. Once the bike was finally "ready" I rode it home and all was well. However the next day or so I was unable to start the bike. The owner Tom came by my place and stated that his mechanic must have forgot to clean the choke mechanism while servicing the carb and that he will take it back to the shop to review for a few days. Luckily for him the bike started beautifully all week (without choke) and he claimed that the bike is still rideable during warmer months without the need of a choke to enrich the fuel mixture. He claimed that he just doesn't have the time to revisit the issue, an issue that should have been avoided in the first place, and that I can bring it back during the end of fall. Low and behold my bike still won't start below 70 degrees out (it probably started in his shop due the warmer environment indoors) and the shop still has not returned my phone call. The owner even stated that I indeed payed for the repair and that they need to service it. I'm frustrated that I was pushed to the lowest priority since I already paid. Clearly this shop can't handle the volume and thus errors are made. But there are no excuses to push a paying customer aside after numerous mistakes. I welcome the owner to contact me and resolve the issue immediately, and perhaps I'll revise this review. At this point I can not recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointed. ****UPDATE**** Roughly a week after my original post the owner contacted me and offered to pick up my bike and service it free of additional charge due to their error. They fixed the choke mechanism as I mentioned above (which was supposed to be done the first time). My bike now starts and runs properly with not major complains as of this post. Overall this was mostly a negative experience but I'm glad the owner admitted to the stores mistakes and resolved the issue. Would I go back here in the future? I'm not too sure yet. Although the shop was closer than most, I may give another business a shot if any similar issues come up. We will see. read more

Not a single worker there was wearing a mask and how to follow social distancing. I understand most, if not all of them don't have any sort of education but at least I assume they watch TV and they probably have seen people die from Covid-19. Love these guys! I have a 1984 GL1200 Aspencade and had various work done it over the last year. They always did a great job. They are the only shop in the area that will even touch my bike. Recently, I had to have my engine pulled to replace my stator, and they went above and beyond with a few small things they found and brought to my attention. They took it to their shop, without permission, I then had to pay $659. or else I wouldn't of gotten it back. A $75 estimate became a $345 bill when this place decided to rip me off by ignoring my specific instructions to do nothing to the bike except a frame weld. Now, your run of the mill slime ball would have jacked the price of the welding job, even though i was told i would receive a phone call if the price was going to exceed $75. And i would have paid the $125 and wrote it off as the cost of doing business. What these guys do is more of an organized scam. This is my second time dealing with this store first time was ok, so I decided to give them a second try. Wow what a mistake I'm all about helping local establishment's and especially after what we went thru. I go because I needed tires so I purchased tires thru them it cost me $ 560.00 for tires. I got the call to come in and have them installed, I get a call saying my bike is ready. That's when I got another bill for $ 410.57 I was surprised to find out that 2 tires came out to just over $ 984.94. The job was done with no issues but damn 2 tires. They did not tell me of other charges for installment also they told me that it was due to my rear bags and wiring , and while test riding my shifter came loose so they had to put that back. If I was informed of the installation charges I would have taken off the wheels my self, and the axles needed to be redone greased and cleaned. I have never thought that tires where going to be so expensive. oh yeah there was a service charge of $ 14.94 added too the bill as well. I will not be using that place again, oh they were nice explaining me the bill of over 900 bucks in tires for an 11 year old bike. Good luck read more

Powerline Cycles Excellent Service from Excellent People!!! I was introduced to the folks at Powerline almost two years ago. I wouldn't even consider having any other shop work on my motorcycles. I originally had a 2000 BMW R1200C (Stiletto) and after being totally ripped off from my local BMW dealer, I found Powerline. Tommy (the owner) is the most honest and down to earth Motorcycle EXPERT that you will ever meet. He really knows his stuff, but doesn't try to Razzle-Dazzle you with fancy explanations of things. He takes the time to explain every aspect of the work to be performed and usually hits the price right on the head. I've since sold the BMW and now have a 2006 Honda Gold Wing. I have not needed any major work outside of routine Oil Changes, State Inspection and so on, but last Spring I started to smell something burning after the engine warmed up a bit. I took the bike over to Powerline and Tommy immediately took the bike into the shop and put his best mechanic on the job. About 15 minutes later, the mechanic took me back into the service area and showed me a mouse nest sitting behind my motor. It was made mostly of the Owens-Corning Insulation in my garage. I guess the mice wanted to stay warm too throughout the winter months. In any event, they removed the debris sitting near the engine, gave the bile a quick wash & dry and sent me on my way. PROBLEM RESOLVED... NO CHARGE!!! How much better does it get than that??? My Son Shayne and my friend Ron (who referred me to Tommy) also use Powerline and I'm sure if they were writing this review, that they would have the same GOOD things to say about the establishment. Wow, last nite a angel came to my rescue.. if you don't believe in angels here a little hope.. came home after a long day work, sat down and had dinner with the my wonderful fiancé. We decided to go for a bike ride on my Kawasak to the cheesecake factory for dessert, as we headed down the Taconic Parkway the bike started to act up,by this time we're about 6 miles from home.. so I exit off the highway to go back home. As I proceeded to head back home on the opposite side of the highway by the time I exit onto the highway the bike died going up the ramp, by this time it almost complete dark there no lamp poles light only the light of the cars going by and the light on my bike ..so I called roadside for assistance they said they would text me a time that they will show up I sat there for almost 45 minutes with my fiancé in the dark.. if you know anything about the The boondocks the bugs starts to come out .. I never got a text from roadside. So where just there waiting.. all of A sudden a car pulls up behind us with his light shining bright he gets out the car we have no idea what's about to happen. The gentlemen looks at us and says I was heading southbound on the highway and I saw you guys stop there on the northbound I didn't know you guys needed help or not so he said he decided to turn around and go northbound. to give us a helping hand, turns out the gentleman owns a motorcycle company his name is Tom from powerline cycles he look over the bike and said your bike may be able to work he started Mess around with the clutch cable and before you know it the bike is moving again me and my fiancé looked at each other like God himself sent us an angel.. we didn't know what to expect but Tom was a champion of a man he follow us to our exit home didn't ask for money didn't want money only wanted to help.. there no question I will be taking my bike to Tom to make any and all adjustment need.. thank you Tom for taking time out for me and my fiancé read more

Very nice face to face. On the phone I have never been treated so poorly. I brought my child's motor bike in for repair and when I got it back home, it had a flat tire. If you pay for a repair, you would think they would make sure the tire is working. I then called the shop as soon as I got home and was treated so rudely. When I called to bring it to their attention, they were very defensive and told me I should come and work in the shop for a day. All I did was ask about the flat tire, after I spent money on a repair to the bike. I will never step foot in this place again. This is not a way to do business. Stay clear of this place! read more

Worst experience I've had in 25 yrs of getting my bikes serviced. Just so you don't miss the small print, $120 an hour for labor. 60% of the techs are teenagers and the work reflects this. I brought my 85 Harley in for clutch slippage and normal check of the motor and get it ready to ride. To make this short. I went to pick up bike, pd a $800 Bill went outside. Bike was not ready, side covers still off. He did not give me a receipt, and off I rode. The bike would not idle and clutch was slipping. I basically pd $800 hrs for a new battery. 1 battery and 4 hrs labor doing who knows what, it doesn't run. Went back in for my receipt and to explain my unhappiness with the job. I was threatened with a fire extinguisher for snapping my fingers. I took the receipt and left. I will be pursuing in court.STAY AWAY, if you value your time and money. BEWARE!!!!!!!= I had my friend drop off my 07 Yamaha r1 for me because I had to work. I bought the parts for the bike and made a list of things that I wanted them to check out. All of the parts were o.e.m. When my friend walked in with the parts and the list, he was told that I would be charged $140 hr!!! because I didn't buy my parts from them. The owner tommy also said "tell your friend that he doesn't tell me what he wants done, Im the one that tells him". The paper simply had a parts list on it and I asked them to do a once-over on the bike and let me know if I need anything else. That seems pretty reasonable to me. After a week he still didnt check out my bike. Not to mention he was incredibly rude, dismissive and Insanely overpriced!!. I immediately took back my bike and and brought it to Scotty's motorcycle garage off of rt 6 in mahopac ny. Scotty was extremely professional and customer service oriented. He charged $80 hr and did more than I asked him to do and he didn't charge me for the extra work. Not only did he fix my bike he also had it cleaned. I am not usually one to complain and anyone out there who knows me know that I speak the truth. That being said, I have to say that I had dealings with one of the worst companies that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in all my life. As some of you know, I was in a motorcycle accident on Sunday and had to have my bike towed off the highway because it was not in a condition to be ridden. The tow truck driver dropped my bike off at Powerline Cycles on Secor Road in Mahopac, because he stated to me that he could not go "out of his authorized area and tow my bike to the dealership that I asked him to tow it to which was Hudson Valley Motorcycles in Ossining . Now this was Sunday and the shop was closed. They didn't open up until Monday at noon, and when I called them nobody answered the phone. I asked my insurance company for advise and they advised me to have the bike taken to a Suzuki dealership. I asked Hudson valley to pick up the bike and when they called Powerline to make arrangements to pick the bile up, they were told by Mark that I had given them the go ahead to fix the bike. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I called Powerline and told them I had never even spoken to anyone there and that my intent was to have the Suzuki dealership fix the bike. Mark said OK, no problem. When the tow truck driver went there to pick up the bike he was told that there was a $100.00 per day "storage fee" that had to be paid before they would release the bike. I called them to clarify and was told by Mark that yes, they were charging me $100 per day for storage. I never asked them to store my bike, and I never authorized them to work on my bike. Allstate is paying the repair bill but that is not the point. To be so greedy for money to charge someone $100 per day when the bike was outside in the parking lot is ridiculous. To any of my biker friends, stay away from this money grubbing business. They are not to be trusted. I paid the extortion fee and removed my bike from their property, but when I went to get the bike this note was attached to the bill.. Absolutely horrible service tommy and his little pet mark are crooks, over the phone we agreed to do a 30$ evaluation on my raptor 660 to figure out the problem, they went ahead and did unauthorized work without a signature or contacting me, they charged me 406$ to change my clutch cable AND DID NOT EVEN CHANGE IT, after arguing with them the crook told me to leave the store I did calmly an followed me outside screaming in my face and eventually got physical with me (striking me first I'm 17rs old really mature of him)the cops were called an nothing further happened but when I picked up my half apart quad to bring to a friend it was missing parts(bolts for skid plate) I would never recommend powerline Motorsports to my worst enemy I was told not to even bother by someone who got there bike back with miss matched bolts an a temp fix on there problem who also got over charged, they will selectivity rip you off I got my clutch redone an all parts for less then they charged me to change a 20$ clutch cable which takes 20 minutes absolutely horrible people although I'm happy now my quad runs beautifully an done right and I'm sure karma will come their way read more
