There are gaps in our grout which we didn't have before he regrouted, and they were never filled in. He damaged our toilet seat, when he was not even doing work to our toilet. He left clumps of grout in places that were not cleaned, he clogged our sink & tub drains with grout, and left our apartment a complete mess. Not only is his work poor, but so is his work ethic. He had estimated the work in our bathroom would take 1 day. Instead, he spent 4 days working, only for us to wind up with what was still a completely terrible, unprofessional job. He was often hours late with no communication. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the work done, he came up with multiple excuses -- he wasn't feeling well, he was supposed to have a different technician helping him, our walls were tough, etc. None of those are excuses for why the grout was touched up with a different color... and if he wasn't feeling well or didn't have proper help than he should have rescheduled. I think the pictures speak for themselves. This is just a small sample of what his finished product looked like after 4 days of work. We asked for a partial refund and he ghosted us. Do not work with him. He talks like he knows what he's doing and then this is the work he leaves you with.

However, the work that Frank did in our apartment isn't holding up well and I am noticing areas that were sloppily done. We found Frank to be messy and incredibly unprofessional. He also left a stain on our wood floor in our entryway from god knows what. I should have just gone with a contractor and paid the extra $$ to replace the tile. I'm mad at myself for not going with my gut and getting rid of him after the first consultation, but I gave him a chance. Awful work. AVOID.

The Cleaning? Chef's Kiss. The Customer Service? Absolute Clown Show…read more Let me paint you a picture: I'm sitting in Las Vegas, 2,500+ miles away, trying to coordinate carpet cleaning for my rental property in New Jersey like some kind of long-distance logistics wizard. OxiFresh was my ride-or-die back when I lived there -- their cleaning is genuinely stellar, no notes. But oh boy, did Corporate have other plans for me. I called the franchise location directly and got connected to what I can only describe as a human answering machine with a script and zero problem-solving skills. She asked for my zip code, discovered I was ONE town over from their service area, and essentially said "not my problem" with a smile in her voice. Fine. I escalated to their big, shiny nationwide toll-free number -- you know, the one that implies they can help anyone, anywhere. Same song, different robot. And when I asked if they could at least point me toward someone who could help? Crickets. Loud, echoing, maddening crickets. So here I am, managing a 2,500-mile gap, a time zone difference, and a corporate policy so rigid it apparently can't bend one zip code for a loyal customer. I eventually found a local mom-and-pop shop that's been in business for 38+ years -- and shockingly, they acted like they actually wanted my business. Imagine that! OxiFresh, your cleaning crew is amazing. Your corporate policy department, however, needs a deep clean of its own.

The…read moreteam simply walked out on the job with no proper explanation other than not feeling it. TLDR: this is a low integrity team. I flew across the country to support my dad as he was receiving medical attention. It took a lot of time and energy to be present for their help. Here's what happened. Chris and his colleague showed up late. Three minutes into our conversation, Chris asks about payment. It was disconcerting as the job had yet to start and the payment was already arranged. Nevertheless, Chris and his colleague start setting up and we start gently asking questions about their process. It was our first time experiencing their work and we wanted to learn more. In the middle of setting up, Chris went outside. When he came back inside, he shared that he spoke to his boss and that they will leave the job. They didn't think we were a fit. I was shocked and expressed frustration. He had already came by in the past and approved the job. I had traveled across the country to be there. I asked for an explanation as to why. I was blown away: he had no explanation to share other than repeating himself. At one point, as I tried to understand why, he expressed something along the lines of not feeling it. I asked to speak to his boss and he refused to share his/her name or his/her contact information. As I expressed my frustration, he started to ignore me, packing his tools, chiding me for being frustrated for him leaving the job. This is backed up by video footage, including an apology--right before leaving--from Chris for wasting my time. It seems that our basic questions triggered a fear for them of losing payment. Thus, they decided to abandon ship instead of showcasing integrity for respecting their commitment. Afterwards, I called their office, sharing the story with a manager named Jenn. She said they'd call right back. It's now more than 24 hours. No call back. I'm sorry to say, this is a low-integrity team. If you're willing to take that risk, buyer beware. They may respond to this review, trying to mischaracterize our frustration as a turn-off to them. I want to be clear: we were kind and courteous in welcoming them to our home. We simply needed help and were willing to pay. We lost time, energy, and money to accommodate them being there. They came and left with little compassion for us. This is the last group of contractors you want in your home.

I went with the lowe r quote for $500.00 which was just the area around my work island where the grout was the dirtiest. The young kid who showed up repaired several grout lines that had to be repaired but never put the grout color on. Prior to that he told me that I should have the rest of the floor cleaned to match which was another $300.00. So I paid almost $800.00 to have 9 grout lines repaired and my floor looked the same as when he came except now you can see the difference between the old grout and the few lines that are new. I complained that day and he gave me $50.00 off and after calling the company to no avail I contacted the BBB to file a complaint and Sir Grout never responded. This is THE WORST service company I'v ever dealt with! Small claims court is next.

If you are lucky enough to have landed on Grout Pros' NYC Google listing, please do yourself an…read moreimmediate favor: stop stressing, end the analysis paralysis, step out of the panic loop and contact Elizabeth and Daniel ASAP. The universe is positively intervening in a way you cannot even fathom right now. I say this because I was YOU less than 48 hours ago. My nightmare started when I hired a "contractor" through TaskRabbit with 600+ five-star reviews to fix and paint a peeling bathroom window along with some regrout touch-ups. Straightforward, right? Well, on Day 2 at 6pm on a Thursday, less than 72 hours before my guest's early Sunday arrival, he scurried away mid-job and left the window's wood and metal frame in worse condition than when he started. He used a chemical paint remover that compromised the surface, then left when things got complicated. No referral. Just a "sorry" and out the door. Now I had less time, a worse problem, and no clear path forward. Enter NYC Grout Pros. Elizabeth initially told me they were booked until Monday, which I understood, but once she heard my timeline, she led with empathy and assured me she and Daniel would make Friday work. It felt like a miracle! I went to sleep knowing I wasn't alone. Friday, Daniel arrives around 2:30pm, and what struck me immediately was how supported he was by his team. One of his colleagues--on THEIR day off--came by just to deliver tools and materials he'd need. That level of coordination and sacrifice, especially under pressure, is rare. What Daniel walked into was no longer simple. The wood had been compromised, sanding was difficult, and the timeline ruled out conventional approaches. He assessed everything calmly and made a critical call--the current path wouldn't get this done in time. At 5pm on a Friday, without hesitation, he drove nearly two hours through West Village traffic to his shop in Westchester to custom cut wood for my window and source the right materials to actually solve the problem--not just patch it. He then drove back into Manhattan, arriving around 8:30pm, and worked until 11:30pm. And, true to his word--came back by 10am the next morning, on a Saturday--HIS day off--and a day where he had meaningful personal commitments, and still worked until everything was completed to the highest standard. The Result: the window was fully repaired, the grout issues were smoothed out, and the bathroom was spotless/usable. I was able to keep my promises to my guest because of Daniel. But what impressed me most is who Daniel is as a person. He is not only exceptional in his craft--he is an even more exceptional human being. I was under pressure. I had already lost time and money. I was dealing with someone else's poor judgment. And Daniel kept reassuring me: he was on my side, he wouldn't abandon the project, and he would get it done. Although I was a complete stranger--one of millions of people in NYC--he treated me like a longtime friend he was willing to move mountains for. And boy did he. He never made me feel like a burden or like he'd been stuck with a bad job. There was also a generosity of spirit that permeated his work. My partner had ?'s about installing new flushmounts, and Daniel took the time to coach him through an example so we'd feel confident doing it ourselves. One micro-moment spoke volumes. After hours of driving and working late, he still cleaned thoroughly--bathroom spotless, tools neatly placed. As we walked out, he noticed dust from his boots in the hallway and instinctively dropped down to clean it, saying he didn't want to leave the building that way. That level of care--at the very end of a long day--is not something you can fake. I also appreciated how highly he spoke of his team, especially Elizabeth. It's clear they are a close, experienced group that genuinely support one another--and it shows. What they did for me went far beyond fixing a window. Hearing "I got you" felt like 1000 pounds lifted off my shoulders--I've found my dream creative partners and I know I can trust them with any project moving forward! And so should you!

I've never encountered a business of any kind as rude and unprofessional as this one. Buyer beware…read more I would not recommend dealing with these people. I was quoted for 5 different items of work. When Gary (the owner's) worker got here, he determined that one of those five things couldn't be done. (Which is fine. In fairness that part of the job had become untenable so I understood). I asked what portion of the quote accounted for that work and could it be discounted? (After all, if you go to a restaurant and order 5 appetizers and one doesn't arrive, typically you'd ask that it be removed from the bill without issue). The workman who had come looked at me like that request was insane. He said he had to call the owner. He spoke to Gary for a few minutes then he said he had to call him back from the car and took all of his tools with him. That was the first red flag that something weird was happening. Gary, the owner, called me and talked it through. Without me saying a word, he walked through what 1/5th of the estimate was and asked if that was a fair discount. Of course I said let's do that. It seemed like a perfectly reasonable customer/ vendor conversation. And then he turned on me. He told he was rescinding the bid and not doing the work. Why? I asked him to explain. He said that the work in question didn't really equate to 1/5 the bill and that he suspected I was the kind of person who would try to re-negotiate the bill after the work was done. I told him he had no reason to suspect that. I was simply asking what the value of the work he had quoted but wasn't doing was. He came up with 1/5th, not me. I said ok if it's not worth 1/5th so what's it worth? At this point he hung up on me. He called back from another phone # and said that we'd been disconnected, then continued to berate me for asking for a discount and then told me I was the kind of person who would nickel and dime him later on. When I tried to respond, he hung up on me. I walked outside to ask his workman what was happening. His workman let me sit in the cold outside his car for 5 minutes while he finished a call then rolled the window down and said "what's up?" I said "you tell me. Your boss disconnected the call". He replied that he had been instructed to leave and they're not doing the work. In my work, in my dealings with contractors or service people, I endeavor to the highest possible standards of respect and professionalism. This business has neither. In the end, I'm happy they didn't do the work. The owner was so scared that I would say the work wasn't good and that I'd try to renegotiate later which to me says that his work is frequently not very good. I assume he wrote the majority of the positive reviews here himself.
