Table of eight adults and two grandchildren for a late Irish Pub lunch on a Thursday. Heidi took very good care of us. We had a small private room upstairs in this historic building with original wide wood floor boards and staircases. I ordered the Craic --grilled roast beef, sautéed onions, provolone cheese, horseradish mayonnaise on a baguette($18.00) which was served au jus. The beef was tender and the baguette was fresh. It was large so I ate have and took half home. Delicious! I also had the French Onion Soup (along with three others.) Sadly, it was spoiled for me by a completely soft/soggy bread slice (mush) below the cheese top. I quietly removed it from my bowl. However, the broth was flavorful. I remember it being excellent. Reason for 4 stars instead of five. My grandson enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie. Since he is a growing lad, he also had the well made fries. The three salads ordered were excellent. One salad had salmon, one had Buffalo Chicken, and one had beets and goat cheese. Generous amounts of protein were served. The children enjoyed the toasted cheese sandwich, Mac and cheese, and waffle fries. The Wings were good. The extensive menu is easy to read with a variety of exciting food choices available. Came here for Clifton Park restaurant week 2025. We were drawn in by the crunch burger and lobster ravioli. They were out of the ravioli so we settled for a crunch burger and Buffalo chicken Mac n cheese. Both of these meals were delicious! This place is super cool inside and really takes you back to a pub. Highly recommend! Service was great. No issues. 4/5 stars due to no lobster ravioli for restaurant week. Took a day trip for lunch and stopped here. We had a very attentive server with one of the owners actually checking in on us. A very old building with a ridiculous amount of character. The patio was huge, I can't imagine how packed that would be in good weather. The food was amazing, I didn't want to stop eating! Elevated pub food, very nice spins on classics. The food was amazing! Best fish n chips I've had this side of the pond! We also ordered the beer battered chicken sandwich. That was phenomenal and such a great twist on the chicken sandwich. I had a Smithwick's red ale and it was cold and perfectly poured. Our server Jenny was friendly, helpful and just the right amount of attention with checking in on us but not overdoing it. The atmosphere is truly that of a pub. Having been to the UK many times, this place offers nostalgia of a traditional pub with fantastic food, excellent drinks, comfy pub decor and a spacious deck with outdoor seating. I think this kitchen has serious problems. I ordered the turkey dinner at the bar. 20 minutes passed and I asked the bartender for an update. She said that she just checked and it was not ready. 15 minutes later she set it down in front of me. Everything on the plate including the side of gravy was cold, not luke warm, cold. I left and went to Noah's restaurant in Saratoga where I had an appetizer placed in front of me 3 minutes after I ordered it and a beautiful veal chop 4 minutes after it was fired. We went to lunch with our best friends at Power's Irish Pub on 4/27/25. We sat at a hi-top in the bar area. Not to busy inside at 1pm, but a big party was in their separate rental space-The Barn. We have visited here often in the past for lunch & dinner. Our attentive server Jen brought menus & drinks while we made our lunch choices. Power's offers pub grub, full Irish dinners, & a broad selection of beers, wine, whiskies, cocktails, etc. Drinks were a couple of wines ($7), a Bloody Maria ($10), & a Guinness ($8). What a great spot! Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and I'm so glad I did. Their craft beer selection is fantastic! I started with a loganberry sour from Bolton Landing Brewing, which was great. I also ordered the Maple Walnut Brie appetizer, which came with apples and crackers. It was delicious! For my entree, I ordered the Gobbler sandwich - turkey, Swiss, and cranberry mayo on Challah bread. I'm a total sucker for anything with cranberries on it, so I had to order it. My husband and I frequently go in to eat at this pub and we love the food so we decided to take 4 family members and a friend and go to the Mother's Day brunch. I was sol disappointed it was awful ! I thought maybe it was me but many people commented. I don't know what happened. Scrambled eggs weren't even real eggs looked grayish, and everything on the breakfast buffet was cold. The French toast was stiff and hard The macaroni and cheese , chicken , pasta was cold and stiff and I'm not sure what went on with the cooking. Home fries were horrible full of pepper and I look so forward to the corn beef hash, it tasted like somebody just dumped so much pepper into it . I just came from my son's wedding at the barn. I have to say it was a perfect setting for a party of 50. very clean and the staff were excellent. Buffet style meal that was very good. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a place for weddings, office party or even reunions. read more

Walking around inside Power's Pub is like trying to navigate through a wobbly tesseract filled with tables and chairs. But that adds to the character of the building. If you need steadier ground, dine outside in nice weather. The food and drink menu is extensive. My favorite part of the menus was the beer selection, though that section of "not quite on tap yet" beers is a bit of a disappointing tease. All the meals are presented really well. I'm not as enthusiastic about the fried foods here (particularly the fries), but my dinner group ordered quite a variety of appetizers and entrees, and everything else looked (and evidently tasted) great. I like that there are a lot of options that I can try on future visits. Service can be a little inconsistent on busier nights, but please be patient, they really do want to give you good service here. read more

I recently took family and friends to Powers for our 6th annual St. Patrick's Day celebration. As always, we look forward to the relaxed atmosphere at the Barn along with the fun beverages and food. This year we were disappointed along with many other guests as they did not have the Irish bands and bag pipers as advertised. The overall vibe was very bland on what was supposed to be a high energy atmosphere. Was more like a dining hall..Two bands were posted to be there online and neither was there. When I raised this up to ownership it was mentioned they hope to have it back next year... I rebutted that they shouldn't have advertised this if it wasn't true. Went here for wings and beer. The wings were embarrassingly small. The menu said "jumbo" wings. They looked like duck wings. The sauce was really good. I gave them 3 stars because I've been here for dinner in the past and it was really good. Despite the overpriced small wings, the service was good and the tap beer selection was pretty good. The bartender was very nice and accommodating. He comped one of the wings because I complained about how small they were. Good atmosphere and not crowded. I'll go again. Love Tuesday's Burger and a beer!! Each week is a different specialty burger with a great selection of beers or Cider on tap! Not bad for $14. The Apple Cider donut Cider with cinnamon sugar rim is Awesome!!!!!!! We were in the mood for some chicken wings and decided to try the special- Salt and Pepper- ok were always up for something new- Wow!!! We were blown away - Why because it was so simple- a good crisp skin with nice mix of salt and pepper for the seasoning!! I think they may be my new favorite!! And we asked if it's not on the menu can we request it- Yep!! Sitting on the deck with the heaters is just so relaxing!! One of the few places in CP that you can sit outside and not be facing a parking lot- and your far enough away from RT 9 you can almost pretend it's not there. Enjoy!! read more

This restaurant and pub inside an old house unwent some nice renovations and there are several cozy dining rooms with wood floors accessed by a few steps & the pub/bar area with big TV is in the front of the restaurant. There's also outside patio seating on the painted wood deck (seasonal). The menu offerings consists of pub fare with Irish influence such as appetizers, sandwiches, potato leek soup, salads, and entrees featuring Irish nachos, Guinness battered onion rings, reubens, fish n chips, bangers & mash, shepherd's pie and more. For the kids, they offer a Little Leprechaun Menu. There were plenty of small framed pictures of Ireland landmarks on the walls. For a starter, I ordered the Frickles ($6) sliced dill pickle chips, and a few banana peppers coated in a light crispy Harp beer batter with a side of horseradish sauce. This appetizer was on the greasy side and a few of the pickle chips were deep fried clumped together with soft warm batter in between the chips. For lunch, I ordered the Corned Beef Rueben ($10) which had plenty of sliced corned beef topped with Swiss cheese, a thin layer sauerkraut & Russian dressing on toasted rye and served with fries. The Rueben tasted pretty good and the fries were very crispy and light, slightly greasy, potato skins on some. The food was decent overall and some items were on the greasy side. The service at my table was pleasant and acceptable. However, at the next table, the service was not good (I'm writing about this because I witnessed the following situation from my seat). A couple at the next table was already seated when I arrived here and they had already ordered their food before me and enjoying their drinks. However, my table and another table (father & son) both received food before the couple. I also finished off my appetizer and entree while the couple was still waiting for their food. The guy was very upset and complained to several servers about where was their food and this was unacceptable. The servers kept apologizing and he told his wife he was threatening to get up and leave the place if they did not arrive with their entrees stat. I would be very angry too and I would definitely do the same thing. Their food (a rueben and a shepherd's pie) was brought out eventually and their server explained that the computer system wiped out their order and the kinks still need to be worked out. Summary- Another bar with averagish food into the frey in Clifton Park. I am excited they apparently have a "real" Irish breakfast/brunch on Sundays. The outside patio will be kickass in the Summertime. I will report back on the brunch. Food- 2.5 Stars Irish nachos were fine, could have used a bit more cheese but overall there was nothing wrong with them. There was a ton of the waffle fries, it was way too much for two. Fish and Chips was OK, I prefer a heavy fluffy batter this was more of a thin coating. It was maybe a shade over-fried. The fries were fine, the coleslaw was very good, not over dressed. My wife got a special panini (super Irish LOL). It was fairly disappointing (see pics), basically a grilled cheese. I know that panini has basically become anything pressed, but I think of it as something on ciabatta, which it wasn't. Beer- 4 Stars Although the menu wasn't as Irish focused as I would have expected, they do have some nice brews, esp the Otter Creek Black IPA. I would like to see a few more American brewery Irish themed beers, like Harpoon Celtic Ale. Atmosphere- 4 Stars Loses points for being cold downstairs in the corner, but otherwise this is super cool old house that shows it's age in a good way. They have a cool thing on the back of the menu that explains the origin of the house. They have live Music Thursdays and Fridays, the guy was pretty solid last night. It ended pretty early. Service- 5 Stars Super nice and attentive. One of the owners I believe was checking in on us and asked us what we thought when we were all done. read more

I'm a sucker for historic buildings. This is a very cool space - an 18th century "home" sectioned off with different rooms that have wide, wood-planked floors...some cozy; some larger. Plenty of stairs separating the different levels, so if you're in a wheelchair or have an injury that prevents you from navigating stairs, this might be a tough place for you to visit. There's a nice sized patio/deck for outside seating and last night was beautiful...so this is where most people were hanging out. The 3 of us decided to stay inside, but our original table was located next to an air-conditioning (freezer??) unit...so we changed rooms/tables to a more temperature-friendly space. Our server was very nice, friendly and efficient. The menu has something for everyone...there are pub-style appetizers and entrees (wings, fried pickles, shepherds pie...) to more healthy and meatless selections (salads, black bean burger...). I had the maple glazed salmon with a side of sweet potatoes and a side salad. I asked for the salmon as rare as possible (in the interest of not having it dried out) and it was cooked just right. Nothing fishy here...moist and slightly sweet from the maple glaze. Sweet potato fries were not greasy and there were just enough of them. The side salad was a little awkward since it was served in a separate bowl that was put on the same plate...but the ingredients were fresh and the blue cheese dressing on the side was good. My companions had the reuben, "frickels" (fried pickles) and a spinach salad with grilled steak. Solid reviews on the salad and pickles; the reuben...not so much. It was "chewy and hard to eat"; she would't get that again. No room for dessert but I heard that they are quite good. I did partake in a nicely poured Guiness and one of my friends had a lovely pint of cider. Overall a good experience; I'd certainly go back in the future. read more
