Overall the team all seem to be doing their job and the execution is quick but the lack of customer communication is not up to par for a 50k project. It felt like I was the project manager all the time, following up on schedule, and then calling to verify. I had a feeling that the teams are split and everyone only does their job based on a scope and not as a team. Sometimes, I just want the truth on timing.... Bc Everytime I get a timing commitment, it's delayed and or no show and then also no updates. The project is still on-going with skirting, commissioning wasn't even done , painting of pipes/conduits... so will update accordingly. 8/6/26 : the team swiftly came the next day and finished painting and commissioning so I will add a star. 8/12/26: Just had a constructive discussion with Dayne and Savannah -- overall very positive. While my earlier frustrations were real, the conversation helped me better understand the complexities of the contractor side of the business. I also came away feeling that OC Solar genuinely puts care and attention into each project. The project isn't fully complete yet (inspections, skirting, and a few other items remain), but the overall execution moved at lightning speed and exceeded my own expectations. At the end of the day, it's the final result that counts so I will increase it to 5 stars.

Infinity Solar - Villa Park solar battery system

I wanted to share my recent wonderful experience with my recent service visit with Infinity Solar…read more I purchased my system in 2024 (detailed review also done); during this time, my solar generation has been absolutely wonderful, and sized perfectly by Kay. My electric bill is essentially free over all of 2025 and this year. Some months have a $10 dollar bill, other months negative depending on how sunny each day is. I have had zero issues whatsoever and system works like clockwork. The installation over my tile roof, done through Terrazas roofing, partnered with Solar has also been top notch with zero issues with multiple major storms last year. I would say i was 110% satisfied with my decision to go solar and with Infinity solar. Fast forward to 2026. A series of recent power outages resulted in no power in my home. My initial thinking was that my system should have generated power with a fully charged battery during this outage. After calling Infinity, it was relayed that my system per contract was only set up for load shifting by design, lowering cost which I had decided on. After discussing 2 options to allow for backup power generation, i decided to proceed with the upgrade. Throughout the process, the entire team supported me exceptionally, starting with Sara who stepped in to help speak to me when the service department was not available at the time. As i did'nt understand my contract fully,, i reached out to Kay in sales, whom i did not speak to in 2 years, who really went above and beyond to explain to me in full detail how my system was set up, and options i had to upgrade. Kay treated me like family. I was so appreciative of her kind approach. She helped coordinate a technical call with Joel to fully answer all my technical questions. Once i decided i was comfortable with to proceed with the upgrade, the service team took over, with Vanessa and Brianna helping me schedule my service. Vanessa and Brianna work tremendously well together; super friendly, pleasant, professional and helpful. I requested looking into a couple options which Vanessa followed up on and accommodated without hesitation. A straight forward and exact quote was provided on Thursday. Their service and help was fantastic and greatly appreciated. Upon approving my quote on Thursday, my service was completed on the following Tuesday, much faster than I expected. Upgrade was performed by Ivan, electrician specialist. Ivan also initially setup my system in 2024. His expertise is perhaps, in my view, the finest in the industry. I felt very fortunate and appreciative knowing i hd my system in the best hands. He spent about 3 hours working on my system, explaining all the steps. Work performed was tremendous. Ivan patiently answering all my questions on some of the system parameters forgotten over the past 2 years. System was up and running and verified to work fully with a simulated power outage performed through the fuse box, and through the app. I was thrilled to now have backup power during outages. Billing and final payment was as quoted and super easy. In closing, the real mark of any business is how you are treated after the job is complete. My belief is that Infinity solar lives up to their reputation of being an exceptional 5 star company providing high expertise solar services through all phases of a project; sales, installation, commission, operational life, and post installation services. In a business of fraught with fly by night companies, Infinity Solar is a true gem. Solar done right with integrity, highest expertise, and exceptional, prompt service when called on. Thanks again to the entire Infinity team. 5 Star once again! Dave C

We were fortunate to have Ruben G. as our Account Manager.  Ruben was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable -- carefully listening to my questions and concerns and also sharing knowledge so I could better understand the phases of installation. Throughout the entire process - from design to permits, documentation to electrical requirements, we communicated with the various SolarMax team members to make sure we understood what the next steps would be. Every team member was courteous and competent, all of them did their part to complete our solar panel and battery project. We are happy with the service and expertise SolarMax has provided us and would recommend them to friends who are considering solar energy.  To Ruben - our renewed thanks!  We appreciate you for your work. To the entire SolarMax team - thank you for making this happen!

A warranty means nothing when the company fails to provide service…read more We made a substantial financial investment in a solar system that was sold with a warranty. Now that the system is not working properly, SolarMax says its service appointments are booked months out. When we explained that we could not continue waiting while paying high Edison bills, they suggested hiring an electrician at our own expense. Customers should not have to choose between waiting months for service and paying out of pocket to repair a system that is still under warranty. SolarMax should stand behind its product and provide timely service. Their service department has been extremely frustrating. We have repeatedly been promised return calls that never came, and some of the service representatives we have dealt with have been rude and dismissive. Meanwhile, our solar system remains down, and we continue paying for electricity every month. It also appears that service may be different depending on whether you purchase or lease your system. When a leased system stops producing, the solar company loses money and has a financial reason to repair it quickly. Once you purchase your system and the company has already been paid, it feels as though you are "put out to pasture" when service is needed. Also: READ THE FINE LINES: Before signing a contract, carefully read every detail and make sure every promise or guarantee is included in the signed agreement. Do not rely solely on assurances made through emails or conversations. Our experience has shown us that what is promised before the sale may not be honored afterward. We love having solar and are glad we installed it. We simply wish we had chosen a company that stood behind its product, honored its warranty, and responded quickly when its customers needed service. We lost our solar in the hottest months of 2026 and still don't see it being fixed any time soon.

It took me 6 mos. to choose the right company for this job because of 41 solar panels in my roof. I had about 14 roofing companies who gave me an estimate and some of them don't do the solar. I did a lot of checking with the companies and I decided to award the project to Elite Roofing, a family owned business, because of the quality of their workmanship, their expertise with the roof and solar, the underlayment they are using, which they explained to me compare to an ordinary felt paper. They even told me that some wood might be in bad shape under the tiles. I was very happy with their work, on time and they clean up at the end of the day. The team worked very precisely to meet the codes and take their time to make sure that no water will leaks to the kitchen and living room ceilings and take pride of their work. I contacted 4 solar companies, and 3 said they could get the job done in time. Sunlux had the lowest price by $9,000 - $30,000. I liked that Mike Valencia is an owner, so I knew I was not working with a salesperson who might not be with me throughout the process. I purchased a 16 panel, 7.36KW, 2 Powerwall 3 system. From contract signing to Permission To Operate (PTO) took some time, but we got the system up and in service before December 31st. It did take almost 5 months from contract to PTO. Southern California Edison took 2 1/2 months to give us PTO. We did have some issues with communication at first. It turns out there was a key employee who was going through something. Sunlux hired an additional person to help. We then worked things out and communication has been great since. I noticed other reviews that remarked on communication. As far as I can see, that is resolved. I developed a good, friendly working relationship with Michael Valencia, Guillermo Santomauro, and Jessica Delgado. I also got along really well with the installers and technicians who came to my house. The installation and permit process did not go perfectly, but Sunlux took care of everything to my satisfaction, and to the satisfaction of my city (and we had a very particular inspector). If I saw something I did not like, Guillermo worked with me to make sure I was completely satisfied. Sunlux working with me to insure total satisfaction is why I gave them 5 stars. My safisfaction includes the very fair price, a good, safe system, and a company/people I feel confident with going forward. On my first bill reflecting a full billing cycle with solar, my Edison bill was only $10. I won't really know how well my system meets my needs until I have the air conditioning going full force during the summer. If needed, I will have a couple more panels and even another Powerwall added. For now my system produces far more power than I use. The only thing I don't like is having Tesla Powerwalls because Elon Musk's behavior and actions are contrary to my values. Sometimes compromises have to be made. They are good batteries. I feel confident recommending Sunlux, and urge others to consider them in their pursuit of Solar energy.

No high pressure and I liked that the solar panels came with two batteries so we could enjoy the solar electricity 24 hours a day. The people at Sunrun changed out our electric breaker box, it was forty years old, just before they installed the solar panels and the two batteries. They were quick and efficient. Four installers came just after 7 a.m. Two on the roof and two on the electrical. I was ready to get into solar power! Then came the news that while they completed the installation before the end of July, we couldn't use the solar panels until first the city inspected and then Edison. They told us that could take until the end of September. We were not expecting that. Our monthly electric bill has reached over $400 a month during the Winter and Summer. The Solar was intended to keep our electric bill at just the monthly cost to Sunrun. I worked in the management side of construction for a few years so I'm familiar with how inspectors can really slow down any project. In my time building fast food restaurants and medical centers I learned how a smart contractor can help inspectors choose your job to inspect over another one. We never had to wait more than a day for any inspection. So, hearing Sunrun would take two months to get our solar inspected and running is very disappointing. If I were starting over again, we would very likely spend more time with their competition to find not just quick construction but getting to use the solar panels in more reasonable time. So Sunrun, you went from 5 out of 5 stars to maybe 3. If the solar is turned on early, I'll improve that rating. If it takes longer then it may go to 2 stars.
