Seems like a great idea until you get there and meet the workers and the "regulars" apparently. You pull in the gates and follow the road to the house where you pay, and trust me the guy that comes out and "greets" you isn't very friendly and seems more focused on seeing how much he can charge you beyond the 15$. If you don't stand your ground he'll happily try to charge the more. Then once you pay and actually get in...GOOD LUCK finding space you can feel comfortable in without the regulars coming to let you know that's THEIR space. Sorry if you're an honest business owner but your employees and especially regulars made it so I came once, stayed for 15 mins and never came back and I live around the corner. Me and my wife drove allllll around the property which is huge and every time we thought we found a spot. Someone would tell us to move because we were in their way. And every person told us to go wayyyyyy out to some remote area that's not conducive for any dog really. We ended up down the hill past the house at least a couple football fields from these people sitting in lawn chairs doing nothing. Once we parked far enough away that they could barely see us, a guy walked alllllll the way over to aggressively tell us that they have the whole area. I took my Black Lab/Pitbull mix here around 2010-2011. He was hit by a car in July of 2010. He fractured his pelvis in 4 places and had to have surgery. The best and number one way to rehab was swimming. I took him to Rosie's Dog Beach, which was great, but I wanted a more personal area to work with him on his rehab. Being from Kansas, we have a bunch of lakes and ponds where dogs can swim, so Prado's was exactly what I was looking for. It's been years since I went, but I think it was around $10 - $15 for an all day pass. There were multiple lakes/ponds to pick from. I saw one pond/lake where dogs were dock jumping/dock diving, but It wasn't crowed at all. Midnight (my dog) and myself were able to find a pond all to ourselves. The scenery was beautiful and we had a blast. I was living in North Hollywood at the time, but it was well worth the trip. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are rehabbing a dog from an injury, if your dog loves to swim, or if your dog needs to release some energy. read more

Great place to leave your dogs while on vacation or being away from home. The kennels are very spacious and the attention and care for the dogs is great. I left my 2 Rotties for 12 days and they did great. Elena is the best with dogs. My Rotties have never stayed anywhere other then my home and at first I was worried to see how they would do but from day one Elena connected with them. They loved her. I was able to enjoy my vacation without a worry in the world for them. I strongly recommend this place. My dogs looked happy every time she would updated me with a picture or video while I was away! I see no recent reviews and that's a shame! This place is a hidden gem for working dogs. I can see how the name can be confusing as it's not your typical "dog park" but an amazing place to work and exercise your dogs. The owner and her family has been nothing short but kind and amazing. I think the misconception about her attitude is that she is this tiny lady (but strong!) who has to deal with an environment of men entering in and out. She has to be stern. I've had countless conversations with her and she's just the sweetest thing. Her entire family has shown nothing but respect and kindness to myself and my associates/clients who use the facility. You get what you give. Come with respect and you will be respected. This is FAMILY OWNED. It's not perfect. But it's their home and they take such pride. It's become my home too. I don't know why this place has bad reviews. I left my 2 dogs here for boarding for about a week. They were well taken care of! The kennels are clean and comfortable. I was able to call whenever I wanted to check in. I had specific feeding instructions and they were very accommodating. The staff was wonderful and you can tell they care about the dogs there. Elena was very kind and Sabrina answered all of my questions and put me at ease that they would take care of my fur babies. I highly recommend this place for boarding. A plus is that the price is affordable too! read more

This review is only for the use of the field and pond. After seeing pictures of this recreation area i decided to try it out and bring my dog here to have some fun/swim in their pond. The gate is a little hard to find and the directions to good maps takes you to the wrong location. The gate is on the other side of the street from the archery range. You then drive about 0.5 miles to the office where you pay the fee. It was $15 for my dog and I. The worker was not very helpful.She did seem interested in guiding us to their ponds but just pointed and said "just keep walking down there, we have tons of ponds." Very unhelpful but oh well what can you do. The pond itself is filled with so much algae that I was questioning my decision to let my dog even jump in and swim. But she had such a blast. We were there for an hour and she just ran all over the place and swam her little heart out. Warning that your dog will be VERY dirty after a swim so be sure to cover the inside of your car and seats. I would bring my dog back maybe when its less hot so the algae isnt so crazy. read more

My wife and I drove to the check in to pay a entrance fee, the man there didn't speak English, I said how much to get in ,he saw my camera and no pay just pictures it's ok, so we drove in to this beautiful natural area to photograph, after about 30 minutes a white truck driving recklessly pulled in front of us and terrified my wife, she yelled at us for not paying the entrance fee and wanted my camera to delete my photos saying that they have a contract with some movie business and no photos were allowed, I left with a histerical wife and a ruined Sunday drive, I have been there before with no trouble, but I won't go back, and you shouldn't unless you like trouble. read more

I stopped going years ago because of how nasty the people running it were. Was ok when I went through this morning. They have increased their price. As with everything in CA. But when my friends tried to join me she was very rude to them. Tried to double charge them. As this was their first event, now sadly left. Only accept cash. HUGE PLACE. The whole entire property is a dog park. But not the typical little place that you take your dog to socialize with other dogs. This location is mostly for training. But its 500 acres with 11 body's of water. If your dog doesn't have recall it might not be the park for you since there are roads thru the whole park for vehicles. read more

There seems to be a lot of confusion, is this a dog park, or a kennel for dogs? Both have the same name??? I thought it was a big regional park. I don't know where this kennel business fits in. All info says there's a Prado dog Park here, I can't find it anywhere, The people at the front gate seem to be in the dark about it, but they charge me a dollar for each dog. well we went for a walk, cost $10, it was fun. Been coming here for years. One of the most affordable, clean and accessible kennels in the area. You can leave your dog for boarding or you can simply go and take him out on walks in the HUGE park letting him run free and even go swimming. There is a park fee for use even if you're not boarding so that's the only thing I didn't like. Other than that, awesome kennel, great park. read more

It doesn't make sense to me when people attack the person or business but fail to discuss about the situation. I have left at times feedback for people but I described the situation. But I never try to attack the business or the owner or tell others not to go. I always say I will not come back. Prado is mostly an open-space training "park" for gun dogs and other working or sporting dogs. It also hosts club events for lure coursing, training, etc. The space is over 500 acres and is very useful. My criticism is that the empty shells aren't picked up by hunters working with their gun dogs. I was here a couple weeks ago, and the flat field used for coursing sighthounds had many casings all over it. This is just highly inconsiderate of you hunters. You are supposed to clean up after yourself per the admission rules. read more

I have been going to this training facility for years. It began as a working dog training facility and that's the only people that came originally. It's changed a bit over the years, but the people that run it are extremely respectful and friendly. I will tell you that it is mostly a working dog training facility. That means you will encounter serious dog trainers that are trying to teach dogs particular skills. If you have never been to this facility, I'd recommend that you politely ask what the rules are before you let your dog off-leash. It gets 5 stars for being the best dog training facility in Southern California. read more

Gonna make this short if possible. Called a week in advance to see if I can take my family to camp out as all campgrounds are closed due to covid. Spoke to Elaina. Was told I could. Have several times before. Called the day of to see if they take cards yet. They don't. Drove an hour to get there. Was asked if I brought my dog. I said no. Was told I can camp only to the right. Drove down to see what was available. Elaina the same lady I just spoke to shows back up and kicks me, my wife, and my 3 yr old daughter out of the park. Did nothing wrong. I told her what I just told you. She replies I'm sorry with attitude.... I made every attempt to confirm before arriving. This new lady is on a power trip. Where did the young girl go? Bring her back, I have actually 3 dogs and wont be back anytime soon. Call this lady out and she is no lady anymore. Even told me if I don't accept her apology then she isn't sorry at all. read more

Maybe next time you hold a hunt test at your facility put signs up directing your patrons where to pay or better yet put a worker at the front gate. Not everyone who enters knows where to go. Coming up to cars beating on windows and threatening to call the police is wrong. Your poor planning and lack of staff is not the fault of your patrons. read more

I was looking for a place where I could teach my dog to swim and run off leash. There are very few of those in SoCal, sadly. This place is perfect, despite the drive. When one reads the words 'dog park', I think most people expect some groomed little lot with a bunch of dogs jumping on each other while their owners chat on cell phones. This place is good for working dogs to train and their owners to exercise and work with their dogs in a 'natural' environment. My guy got his feet wet in a real lake for the first time in his life, we practiced recall training with a long leash. All the dogs we saw were well behaved and stayed with their owners. My guy watched another pointer working and I could see the wheels turning in his little brain. They do charge a fee, but it is worth it in my opinion to find a place where working dogs can be dogs. My little dude slept like a log all the way home. I've never seen a happier dog. read more

Great facility run by a rude, moody and pompous woman. Been coming here for several years to condition our field trial dogs and prepare them for hunting season. Honestly, only come back because it is the only facility within 100 miles. Have spent hundreds of dollars here, at the least. No consideration or appreciation is ever shown by her. I could go on...won't matter, she doesn't care what her good customers think. We're all bad at some point as far as she's concerned. I was debating on 3 or 4 stars. This isn't a bad place, just expensive. There were tons of people training their dogs, complete with vehicles that looked like Animal Control, loaded with dogs. I just came with a friend to exercise our dogs. Mine loves to go swimming, so the lakes were fun. There are definitely a lot of places to explore, and my German Shepherd actually was pretty calm that night and the day after thanks to the plethora of hiking opportunities. I just think $15 is a bit steep. $5-7 would be more reasonable. read more

This place is great! We had a coursing event there, and our dogs had a great time on the facilities. We will be going again to work on training our dogs to hunt birds. The owner is incredibly helpful and the land is very large and great for off leash training. If we lived nearby, I would pay the yearly fee and bring my dog there for daily off leash exercise. read more

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE!!! A 1 is to high of a score for this place, it should be a zero. Unfortunately, I chose to use this kennel to board my dog for an extended period due to my family moving to a new residence. At first everything seemed ok, the kennel was clean in a secluded area with plenty of space to walk the dogs etc. When I initially signed paperwork I was told that my dog would recieve exercise everyday and that the kennel would supply food for my pet. However, about a week in I was contacted about my pets food situation, I was told that he eats too much and that I "should" bring in cans of food for him. I also brought up his exercise schedule and I was told that he had been aggressive towards the handlers so they were not able to walk him at all. My dog had never been aggressive towards anyone before, but because of the situation and new environment I did not question this. I regret that completely. I felt stuck in the situation because the kennels owner Elena... required cash up front for the stay and would offer no refund if you take your pet home early (even though in the contract there were different payment terms)! I visited my dog regularly to walk him and bring cans of food, treats, bedding, etc., except for on a two week period where I was on vacation and out of town, during thus time I received two phone calls from the kennel...reminders that the next payment was coming up or due soon...the first came two weeks before my next payment was due??? Then when I was back in town and went to go visit my dog, bringing payment mind you....i was astonished at the size of my dogs front right leg. It was swollen to about three times the size of normal. I was immediately furious, to me it looked like his leg was broken. When I confronted the owner of the kennel Elena, she said "oh...i thought the dog was brought in like that." She had supposedly been taking care of my dog for over a month...more like neglecting him for over a month. Needless to say I was completely taken back by her attitude and actions. I rushed my dog to the nearest vet, where he received xrays, shots, medication, etc. Turned out he had a massive infection in his leg caused by an open sore on his elbow joint that couldve easily spread, and could have also been easily prevented had he been examined or looked at period. The total bill was roughly $480.00. I have spoken to the owner Elena about her neglect and liability she has taken no ownership for her wrong doing, nor does she seem to care about my pet. Someone like her should not be in the business to care for anything but herself, I believe she chose to deal with animals because they cannot speak for themselves, so she could neglect them and not be punished for it. She is cruel, heartless, it is very obvious she only cares about money. So thank you Prado Dog Park, and thank you Elena, for teaching me a very valuable lesson!!! I will never take my dog to a kennel ever again, I would rather chain my dog to my leg for a month then trust somebody else, that I don't know, with the care of my pet. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT THEM NEGLECTED, AND MISTREATED!!! read more

I reside in Chino Hills and after obtaining my Pointer 6 years ago was excited to hear we had such a great facility to train and work the dog. I visited approx 4 times and 3 of those had Rude treatment from the woman working the office. I have since, along with several of my pointer friends, chosen to drive out of town to open land to work our dogs. This is disappointing because i live 10 minutes from this property. But it is the priciple here... I refuse to be treated rudely for my patronage and regrettably dont work my dog as much as I would otherwise... btw... I would have purchased an annual membership. I am not sure if this woman actually owns the property/business or not?? IF she doesnt, cannot imagine why the owner would keep her around?? read more
