A settlers cabin at Deschutes Falls County Park

This may be the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. When I was a child, long before cellphones and internet reservations, we would always have to wait in the car while mom checked out the room, with special emphasis on the bathroom. My first thought upon entering the bathroom was, "Mom would have DEFINITELY approved this one!" Breakfast wasn't part of the deal but that wasn't a problem for me as I have many food issues and always bring my own. There were snacks available in the office area though, and many eateries nearby that smelled tantalizing. The only issue I had was that the sink drained slowly, and I forgot to mention it when I checked out. This would be a great base for local explorations; close to Mt Rainier and Nisqually, with a very nice bike path, and many parks. So much to do! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Yelm.

This is a clean, comfy hotel. The rooms are spacious and attractive. The bathroom is huge and has a gigantic walk in shower with 2 shower heads. Very spa-ish. Quiet location. Friendly staff. King sized comfy bed. Clean remote! My only beef is the very lame "grab 'n go breakfast" which consists of end of season apples and run of the mill granola bars. It is deceptive. This is NOT a breakfast. Should just say "apples and granola bars". The 24 hour coffee is good, though. Price was reasonable and much cheaper than staying in Olympia where hotels seemed overpriced.

Large room with vaulted ceiling and so much bright light.

This is our third visit here and it is just as spotless and the employees are just as welcoming. Wonderful place.

This is the only hotel in town. However, is almost brand new, is super clean and very reasonable.

This hotel has 2 buildings. One is available from the outside and the other has interior doors. It's nice, clean, looks new, and is comfy. The staff had been super helpful! The building with exterior doors allows pets but not the interior doors building. No smoking is allowed in any of the rooms but does any place have that anymore? It's a very quaint place, and in the morning and at sunset Mt Rainier looks super close! My only complaint is their so called "continental breakfast"... This is lacking. If you like apples and bananas, or, packaged muffins and oatmeal, you are in luck. I have eaten breakfast out everyday and there are some yummy places near by. Oh one other thing; if you have skin sensitivities, I suggest your own soap and shampoo. There one provided smells like cucumbers. Not for me but, maybe for you? Great staff!! Super helpful!

The lodge is maybe a quarter mile from the Mt. Rainier National Park entrance. As soon as we parked to check-in, Bob and Joe (Owners/Managers) made us feel welcome. The cabin we had was great. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The views were wonderful. It was so peaceful and quiet. A great place to relax and re-energize. While there, Bob and Joe shared their knowledge of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area. Telling us the best places to eat, all about the mountain, where to go for pictures, trails to walk, best places to see wildlife, and so much more. They had a campfire one night and provided everything we needed to make Smores. Many of the guests came out to the campfire, enjoying the smores, the conversation, and the stars. It turned out that one couple had stayed there several times before. At the time we were there, the park required vehicles to carry snow chains. They rent chains at the lodge for half the price of the places you can rent them in town. Unfortunately, they didn't have our tire size but immediately offered to go purchase a set for us to rent. By far, Stone Creek lodge was the best place we stayed during our trip. If headed to the National Park or the Ashford area, we highly recommend Stone Creek Lodge.

The communication from the hotel from booking to checkin was on point. We reached late in the evening and were able to find the room keys in an envelope with my name on it. Also, the room had more than enough supplies (towels, shampoo, blankets, pillows etc). The area around the hotel is also good. There is a fish pond near the rooms. One of the managers saw my kids watching the fish and generously offered some fish food for them to feed the fish. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

(if that is his correct name), "I'm not sure why they let you book this. We don't have any rooms." There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to help me find another Hilton or nearby hotel. As a military family traveling late at night, being told that a confirmed reservation couldn't be honored was incredibly stressful. When I asked for written confirmation that I would receive a refund, he told me to "check my email." The email I received wasn't a refund confirmation--it was a late cancellation notice stating that I may incur charges. When I pointed this out and simply asked for confirmation that I wouldn't be charged for a room the hotel couldn't provide, Luis became loud, argumentative, and raised his voice at me. What made this even more disturbing was that I was a woman standing there alone at nearly 1:00 a.m. His behavior made me feel genuinely uncomfortable and unsafe. The moment my husband walked into the lobby, however, his entire demeanor changed. He immediately became calmer and spoke respectfully. The difference in how I was treated when I was alone versus when my husband was present was impossible to ignore. Mistakes happen, and I understand that hotels can occasionally overbook. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect shown to a guest. No one apologized, no one offered to help us find another hotel, and instead of trying to resolve the situation, I was met with hostility. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at a Hilton property. I hope management takes this seriously--not only because a confirmed reservation wasn't honored, but because no guest, especially a woman traveling late at night, should ever be made to feel intimidated or unsafe while simply asking reasonable questions.
