First time here. The place was set up nicely. Not fancy but like a home. There was plenty of parking and many tables. The menu prices were reasonable. Most prices were between 7 and 10 dollar. The portion sizes were large. The menu has many selections and the options were numerous. I had chicken fried steak with eggs, shreaded hash browns and pancakes. Eveything was cooked well. I enjoyed my lunch. The eggs were cooked just right as was the chicken fried steak.I loved the pancakes too. The service was outstanding. From the minute you walked in until you left there were servers taking your requests and cleaning. The food came out within a few minutes after ordering. Our beverages were refilled without us asking. Everyone was friendly. My only complaint was the mens bathroom. My daughter said the womens was fine. The urinal was out of order in the mens room and guys were using the toilet without lifting the seat. Kind of wished the urinal had been working. Other then that is was another great experience in Oklahoma. The good news is the Prairie Kitchen is about half way between Dallas and OKC. Plus it is only about 1/4 mile from HWY 35 exit 31A. So don't be afraid to stop by and enjoy some Oklahoma hospitality the next time you are traveling between Oklahoma and Texas. read more

Great little spot for breakfast on our way back from Tulsa. Blueberry pancakes were the best I have ever had. Batter perfect - not heavy and blueberries inside and outside the pancakes. Bacon was tasty and cooked just right. Husband had ham and eggs and we both commented on it being a thick slice of real ham, not what you always bare on a breakfast plate. Service was friendly and just what was needed. Can't wait to go back again on the next adventure! read more

Stopped in for dinner while visiting Lake Murray. Friendly staff, generous portions and tasty food! I had the Chicken Sandwich with their "jalapeno toothpicks", which are friend pepper pieces. The sandwich and the fried okra were great and reasonably priced. Our iced teas were regularly replaced with full glasses, and our waitress was super friendly. Hope to be back again soon! read more

Stayed in Ardmore for a night and asked the hotel clerk for local place that serves breakfast later in the day. She immediately suggested Prairie Kitchen, didn't even have to think about it. When we walked in, we were greeted and seated (not trying to rhyme here) right away. It was a Sunday, but the after-church crowd hadn't come in yet, and this is an obvious choice. Many people (myself included) complain about the lack of effort in today's "working" youth, so when I saw the group of young ladies that were the waitstaff, I judged. And boy did I judge wrong. When I noticed our waitress was getting the job done, I paid more attention to the rest of the waitstaff. Drinks were getting filled without having to flag down someone, dishes were accurate, and the staff was attentive. We would absolutely be regulars if we lived anywhere close to here. The food was great, nothing was skimpy, but we were not overloaded either. I love Prairie Kitchen except, Friday Saturday night prime rib steak night, I have been there 3 times and was never given a descent piece of steak, this plate is $25, the piece of steak was like a hunk of roast, dry and difficult to cut into to, I ordered medium well and this thing was over cooked and hard, I had trouble cutting into it, didn't fit on plate. The 2nd time I ordered prime rib the steak was so little and half or more of it was fat, I got about 3 bites of meat and that's was it, the 3rd time I tot prime rib I could barely find any meat on it again, the few bites of meat I got were delicious. The food was always brought out quickly. I will not eat prime rib there again, it's not worth $25 for 3 bites of steak. This also comes with 2 sides and a roll, you are charged separately for a drink. The country decor is quaint and always a friendly crew. read more

Trysta provided excellent service to us first timers The recommendation was on point. Waffle with a side of fresh blueberries and I smothered them in the blueberry syrup. Magnificent! I went back and forth between regular syrup and that mixture. Butter was a perfect match. Most tender tastiest breakfast ham I ever had. Bacon and sausage mmm yummy! It's right off the highway so extremely convenient. Packed but there wasn't a wait. They have plenty of help which I think was key to happy staff. Other businesses should take note. Everyone had friendly looks on their face or smiles. It was also clean. Booth didn't have food left nor floor. Looked like they swept each time they busted a table. Excellence was noticed. Prices weren't just reasonable, they were actually too low. The fabulous coffee alone is reason enough to stop. In 60 years of dining out, I found only one other restaurant this good in every phase of food service. If they were closer to home, I'd eat there three times a week. read more

We came here on Sunday morning for a family breakfast. We were told 30 minute wait but we were seated a little earlier despite how packed it was. We had the French toast, Chuck wagon meals, corn beef hash, and blueberry pancakes. Everything was pretty good and we all enjoyed the food and customer service. We saw a sign on I35 and decided to try it. The food was really good and the price was amazing. I had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and (awesome) fried okra. It was all yummy. My daughter had the club sandwich. It was huge and she said it was delicious. My husband decided on the app sampler. He loved it. Everything was hot, fresh and came to our table in a timely manner. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience in a homey, relatively new facility. We couldn't believe we got such value for the price. Honestly, I would give this place negative 5 stars if I could and we didn't even get to taste the food. Three friends and I stopped there for breakfast after a charity fishing tournament at Lake Texoma. My Service Dog was with us, her vest clearly indicating that she was a working Service Animal. The waitress sat us at a very small booth by the kitchen. SHE chose the booth, not us. Phil Tabor, the owner, approached us about 5 minutes later and said, "the dog needs to be under the booth table". Literally, everyone's knees were touching in the booth and there was no way she was possibly going to fit under there. He said she had to go under the table or we had to leave. I told him that we were seated there by the waitress and we were perfectly willing to relocate, no problem. He looked around and again said we needed to leave. I let Mr. Tabor know it is against Federal Law to deny access based on a Service Dog. He said he didn't care and we needed to leave...so we did. UNBELIEVABLE!!! It was an absolutely horrible experience. Discrimination at it's finest. read more

This restaurant did not disappoint, the pancakes were good, not spectacular but add the cinnamon apples to top them, and they were definitely a winner. My poached eggs were perfect medium poached and the bacon crisp. My husband had the club, and found the cheddar to be a bit dry and the toast slightly over toasted. Worth stopping in for the food, but heads up, the service is inconsistent. I've come here for breakfast probably a dozen times, and each time my food has been delicious. I enjoy the hash browns (perfectly crispy and not greasy), and I've also enjoyed the omelets the most of everything I've gotten. The service here is odd. The waitresses seem to not get along very well, and the past few times I've come here, they've lacked decorum and could be heard being yelled at by a head waitress behind a partition for standing around or somehow slacking. Sometimes I get really great service, sometimes it's spotty, sometimes it's weird and uncomfortable. I'll be back, as this is probably the best option in Ardmore for breakfast, but crossing my fingers that the service is good. read more
