Stopped by this little diner for breakfast one morning while in ardmore. First off, the decor was nice and appropriate to its theme and the restaurant seemed to be clean and in good repair. The waitress was prompt and friendly and was good about answering questions and refills despite it being pretty busy on a Sunday morning. I had the fiesta omelette that came with a side of hash browns and two biscuits and I ordered a side of bacon extra to go along with my coffee. The Omelette was good size and filled with goodness. The hash browns were cooked perfectly as was the bacon. The bacon had a good flavor my only complaint was there was three pieces and they were kind of slim but they were definitely more than the two scrawny pieces that Cracker Barrel gives you. The biscuits tasted like they were made in house and we're nice and fluffy and buttery. The coffee was especially good and I took some to go. The price for myself and my company was about $16 each plus tip. Overall I feel it was a pretty good value for what I got and the entire experience. My fifth star is reserved for consistency so when I come back I'll update accordingly. Highly recommend them and judging by the amount of people there so do lots of others! read more

Haven't ate here since it was the old kettle. Must say big improvement. Hostess was friendly, i noticed the waitstaff interact with their patrons very well. Our waiter was prompt, friendly and gave great recommendation on the cinnamon apples (sooooo goooood). Wife had the corn beef hash breakfast, eggs and blueberry pancakes. Stated best corn beef she's had in long time. I had the regular breakfast; scramble eggs with onions and cheese, hash browns, bacon. A lot of food for the price. Everything was enjoyable and we would recommend, try those cinnamon apples. read more

This place is fantastic. From the moment I walked in we felt welcomed. The food was good and the coffee was great as well. I just wish the busser was a little bit more cautious because he hit the table behind me and almost made me spill coffee on myself. We were traveling through and will be back. read more

I only give this 2 stars because my waitress and the cashier were very nice. The food was hot and prompt, however when you advertise the special of day, then it better taste good. Their signature chicken fried steak was the worst I ever tried to eat. Tasteless, tough and had a beer batter super greasy shell. Total fail and they need to redo their recipe. I almost offered to go back into the kitchen and show them how, however I was pressed for time. At least there are other restaurants nearby, maybe I can find a better lunch option?! read more

I've eaten here many times. Breakfast only, as I don't like their other food. Today grits were cold, bacon burnt beyond eating and eggs over cooked. Well let's stay away another 6 months and see if they learn how to present editable food. read more

The menu is a little big which alarmed me at first because sometimes when a restaurant has a big menu the food isn't all that great and they are out of a lot of things but this place had everything. The food was good and fairly priced. The atmosphere was inviting and nice the waitresses are interested in engaging in a conversation. I had the campfire breakfast and it was very good. I'm used to a lot more food being the south but it did it's job. read more

We ordered food for pickup this evening. My blueberry waffle was a pancake flat, regular waffle, a couple of blueberries thrown into the container, no whipped topping and regular syrup instead of blueberry syrup. My husband didn't get his sausage and there was gravy everywhere in the bag and on the containers because one of the lids wasn't closed all the way. Considering the waffle was all I'd ordered, dinner didn't happen for me. The waffle wasn't good, either way. read more

This is your reasonably typical greasy spoon with easy access to the highway and one awesome caveat: It has some of the best pancakes I've ever eaten! Seriously, I'm almost always a skillet or a nice hearty breakfast guy. My dad makes fantastic pancakes, I make decent pancakes, and these pancakes take the [pan]cake! I really wanted to try a campfire. I also really wanted a nice hearty big breakfast with eggs, hash browns, biscuits, and all that jazz. I went with the pancakes with a nice heaping of blackberries and compote with whip cream on top. I second guessed myself a bunch of times before the food came. It was wrong to second guess myself. Get the pancakes! ...and I was even more wrong to second guess myself because even though my blackberry pancakes were very filling... my travel companion's meals were even more filling. Yay instant leftovers for me to round out the breakfast with the heartiness I was looking for! Prices were very affordable. The staff looked a little busy and definitely earned their tip, but were friendly and quick about everything. The parking lot was more than ample enough to accommodate the 10:1 truck with brush guard:car ratio. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again and get some darn good pancakes with a side of pancake. read more

Always tough to choose where to stop and eat between Tulsa and Dallas. My first stop here was very subpar. The food was okay, nothing real special. I would rate them much higher had the serving staff been even semi adequate. Very lazy, grouped in a corner, giggling and having private conversations loud enough to be heard throughout the restaurant. I just don't need to know that much about the private life of my waitress. Beyond that, dropping off food seemed to be their only concern. Ice Tea refills were never offered. Observing my waitress, she just could not break herself away from her chat in the corner. Waited over 5 minutes for the check. I attempted to flag the waitress down 4 times, she never looked sideways. I do have a tip: loud, obnoxious, giggling waitresses, chomping their gum and more interested in loudly gossiping in regard to their private lives, while making customers flag them down with exaggerated movement does not speak well for your establishment. read more

This place doesn't look like much but it's got FANTASTIC breakfast! We didn't order anything else, except kids spaghetti. It was wonderful! Barbara was maybe the best server EVER!!! She knows the menu like the back if her hand, she's friendly and hospitable. The whole staff was friendly. It's clean and reasonable. We will be back the next time we are in town! This place is packed so we decided to stop for breakfast. I had the Napa omelet. Ross had the Chuckwagon. It was okay. Service was good.

This is a must stop when you come to Ardmore if you want to have friendly service and a good country breakfast. I personally love the pancakes. Cinnamon Apples are so good. My son loves the corn beef hash with biscuits and gravy. My husband loves the pit ham and eggs. Coffee is good and the sweet tea is delicious. Definitely recommend this place . I have never been here for lunch and dinner but hope to someday. read more

We were traveling and were lucky to find this family restaurant. The food was very good. Are waitress was Trysta, she was so sweet, thoughtful and professional. She first sat us in a room that had multiple young children. There were several adults and it got very loud. Trysta on her came to our table said she had another table in another part of the restaurant that wouldn't been so loud. This was very thoughtful of her. The breakfast was very good, great flavored bacon cooked just perfect and the eggs were cooked just right. I told the owner it would be so nice to be able to clone Trysta. He praised her, he was so proud of this person that is only early 30's and yet so responsible. We ate there another day on our way home. It is a favorite of ours. You won't be disappointed. I'm from Texas and am staying at a hotel 2 minutes from here so decided to try. It definitely deserves 5 stars for the food itself, the cost and customer service! Stopped in for dinner while visiting Lake Murray. Friendly staff, generous portions and tasty food! I had the Chicken Sandwich with their "jalapeno toothpicks", which are friend pepper pieces. The sandwich and the fried okra were great and reasonably priced. Our iced teas were regularly replaced with full glasses, and our waitress was super friendly. Hope to be back again soon! read more

In my opinion this is the best place in town for breakfast. They have good food the rest of the day as well but seem to really excel at breakfast. Something for everyone on the menu. Good comfort food like your grandmother would make. Very friendly staff and for the most part pretty attentive but every now and then you get a slacker.
