I am not one to write bad reviews, but this place truly deserves it. I got trial contacts at my eye…read moreexam at the beginning of the year and I told them to order the contacts since the trials I had in my eye felt fine at the time. They never ordered my contacts. I only found out because I went in to visit them after months because I never got a call regarding the order. The trials started irritating my eyes, so I didn't bother about ordering the trial brand of contacts. I told them about the irritation of the trials and they gave me two new pairs of trials. The trial pair that I wanted from the new set couldn't be ordered till I spoke to this one doctor who apparently only works Friday. I called for about 3 weeks trying to get these contacts and there was always an issue - she stepped out, she'll call you back, etc. Finally, I spoke to one person who was able to get the contact trials ordered - cause they didn't have any of that pair on hand, and I was forwarded to the front to order the months supply. Upon trying to place the order, they told me that my benefit was used up for the year on contacts. The contacts I asked them to order after my eye exam, they never ordered them, and I told them the trials were irritating my eyes. So I got a shitty pair of trials, the never ordered my initial monthly supply and I didn't know for months, got new trials after I found out, tried to order the new trial pair monthly supply, and was told that my benefit was used to buy the shitty contacts that I never received - like what?!

I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others…read more I purchased two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses from this location on April 16 -- one regular pair and one pair of Meta sunglasses. When I returned just two days later to return one pair, the store manager, Suzanne, flat-out refused. First she said they don't accept returns on "floor samples," then changed her reasoning to "non-prescription glasses." When I asked to see the return policy, she wouldn't show it to me and simply said she was the associate in charge and wouldn't allow it. Even more disturbing, when the associate who sold me the sunglasses (Jameel) appeared confused by her response, she publicly scolded him and accused us of some kind of collusion -- right in front of me. It was awkward, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. Despite the receipt and ForEyes' website clearly stating a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and allowing returns within 30 days, Suzanne refused to honor it. I had to make multiple calls to customer service over several weeks before I was finally able to speak with a regional manager, who had to personally step in and get the store to issue my refund -- over a month after the original purchase. I did eventually get my money back, but it should not have taken that level of persistence. This store's manager was dismissive, rude, and out of line. I will not be returning, and I recommend others shop elsewhere or online to avoid similar treatment.

After repeating the exam, they provided trial contacts again. The first time, we didn't realize the trial lenses were off, but this time everything appeared to be correct. However, when we called to place the new order, we were told we had to pay again -- even though we had already returned the incorrect contacts. They claimed they never received the returned contacts and refused to take any accountability. As a result, we were out several hundred dollars. This feels completely unfair and unprofessional. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've been a frequent customer and have recommended this office to friends. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning.

They made me feel…read morelike I was bothering them when I told them my vision was blurry with some of the lenses. They were reluctant to give me replacement lenses when some of my trials had torn. And I was ultimately told that they could not keep giving me free trials. As if I am gaining anything by dealing with blurry vision and having to call them every week for a different lens. My last trial I was only given a single day of trial lenses and told that was all they would give me. Despite the fact they are professional and generally polite, the staff seems to be pretty insensitive to the clients' needs. A prescription is needed to try different brands of contacts, it is not like I can just buy any brand that I want. This place is fine for eye exams but keep in mind the goal is obviously for you to make an eyewear purchase, so do yourself a favor and don't go here. When the eye exam is over they could give a shit about if you can actually see or not. It also seemed like they were hyping up a certain manufacturer's brand of contacts being on sale, despite me telling them that they were extremely uncomfortable on my eye. I only go here because they are in-network with my eye insurance, but after this experience I will not be going back.

We had a bizarre and extremely unpleasant shopping experience here leading to this very long,…read moredetailed review. The short version is they refused to accept insurance even though they are in-network -- AFTER they confirmed our coverage, AFTER they pulled authorizations, AFTER we shopped, AFTER they rang us up with the insurance deduction. Very rude about it as well. My insurance company tried to intervene without success & Lunette never even responded after I filled out their own online customer service form. I will never return to this shop and I hope that no one else has such an awful experience at this chain. Lunette got me in the door as an in network VSP provider. But, I am not paying cash for something that I know, Lunette knows, and the insurance company knows is covered. If you don't like the contract reimbursement rate, please don't sign on to become an in-network VSP provider. Don't pretend that you can't take my insurance to get cash instead. Shame on Lunette. Full details ... I went in to look for sunglasses for my husband & daughter who do not need prescription glasses. Lunette is in network for VSP insurance & we have coverage which allows us to use our frame allowance for nonprescription blue light glasses or non prescription sunglasses (it's called LightCare and it's part of our regular VSP policy). A woman with glasses and short white blond hair (later found out named Jennifer) took my husband's and daughter's info from me and looked up our VSP insurance coverage on Lunette's computer system. She confirmed each of their benefit for non prescription sunglasses under our plan, as expected. I then called my husband & daughter to come join me from a nearby store to try on some pairs. They both shopped for about 15-20 minutes, picked out their sunglasses and left so I could pay and they could shop elsewhere. Jennifer seemed frosty to us while they shopped -- flat, no smiling -- but I didn't take this personally because anyone can have an off day. After they left, Jennifer once again confirmed that our selections were within our coverage and then she rang me up, deducting our insurance. I went to hand her my card to pay but asked about the balance -- it was slightly higher than expected. My questioning seemed to annoy her as it had to do with the taxes, co-pay, etc but said she needed to call her manager to find out. AND she said ... I don't even think we can take this insurance anyway. What? Yes, please call your manager because I'm certain this is covered and I'll call VSP. Jennifer went in the back, came out shortly and said my manager said we can't take your insurance! No apology. She was just rude, like she did not care at all that she wasted our time and would not take the insurance. In fact, she seemed smugly satisfied. I was in shock. AFTER confirming the coverage? AFTER ringing us up? AFTER pulling authorizations? AFTER actually deducting the insurance? I did not know what to say. They wanted me to pay fully out of pocket for something that was covered by my insurance?! No thank you. I was very confused and upset and just left the store. Meanwhile, I got through on my call to VSP. Heidi F. at VSP confirmed our coverage for these sunglass purchases ($200 allowance + 20% for anything additional) AND could see that Lunette had open authorizations. Heidi at VSP stepped in and called the store directly thinking it was just a simple mistake of not understanding how to complete the transaction. Nope -- not a mistake. She spoke to Jennifer, who did not budge. Heidi's hands were tied and she said we should absolutely shop elsewhere and use the insurance. She closed the Lunette authorizations and opened a VSP grievance. Again, shame on Lunette. So sketchy, dishonest, and under-handed. (Fortunately for us, after the Lunette debacle we ended up at Market Square Optical in Newburyport. It was a breath of fresh air. Adorable shop with a great selection of frames. We purchased the same 2 pairs of sunglasses and they happily accepted our insurance, nicely explaining the small out of pocket balance. They prove that an upscale eyewear boutique can also be friendly and professional, and treat customers with respect and kindness. Thank you Market Square Optical for saving the day, for valuing your customers and providing a lovely shopping experience.)

If I could give zero stars, I would. Horrible experience! The absolute worst place to get an eye…read moreexam. The front desk girl, Sarah, is one of the most unprofessional and rudest people I have ever dealt with and Dr Mary Mathias was not far behind. I made a complaint and they "attempted" to refund me. When I called back they never returned my call so I never received a refund for being made to wait over an hour and a half - all because the receptionist is terrible at her job and partly because the Dr. decided to take a 1 hour 30 minute lunch break. If I didn't have a job to get back to and if I wasn't a nursing mother with a newborn waiting for me to return home to be fed, this might not have been as bad. Annoying and inconsiderate still for sure, but not as horrible. But also as someone who works in pharma, I understand meeting patient needs. Dr. Mary Mathias has no idea what that means. And Sarah needs to be fired or undergo some type of training to be better at her job. I will do everything in my power to spread the word at how HORRIBLE I was treated and make sure that I help guide people to go ANYWHERE but here. What a joke. Only person who was helpful was Ali. Sarah should learn a thing or 2 from her. Again, terrible, awful, horrible experience.

So after checking the new providers web page I saw that I could go to Lens Crafters and I liked the frames that they had on line. And that is where I began. Then I searched the Lens Crafters that also have an eye doctor on premise so I could have both the exam and get the frames/lenses. It took a couple of tries, I did not like the first prescription at all, it was just not working so I went back 2 days later to get it fixed. First, the staff at Lens Crafters WAS awesome with my big order 5 frames/lenses and one set of lenses only because I had one frame on hand I liked. I was able to use my Eye Med insurance and Lens Crafters promotions to save some money and on a big order like this it helped a lot. Second, Dr. Jeffrey Norden is VERY knowledgeable and helpful with figuring out what your eyes need and what prescription is right for you. The second time I went back they were done perfectly. The only reason I feel we didn't get it right the first time is I need the glasses for distance but want to still see near and it was too strong and I couldn't see near at all. He mentioned possibly going with progressives and I am not ready yet but may consider in the future. But the pair I am wearing right now is great and I am very happy with my exam. I highly recommend Saugus Eye Associates and Lens Crafters. EVERYONE I came in contact with were very helpful, nice and patient with me!
