Precision Appliance Services provided us with great customer service. Not only were they on time for their appointments but they were courteous and very professional. Our dishwasher started not working 10 minutes into the first cycle and after you tried to troubleshoot it, we decided to call Eddie. John who came to do the initial diagnostic (motor was broken) and for the repair was great. Unfortunately once the motor was fixed the dishwasher started leaking at some point during the cycle. John came this time with Eddie to figure out what was going on and spent quite some time on the dishwasher. They diagnosed something with the thermostat and John came back to replace the part. Once John left unfortunately the dishwasher still leaked and I called Eddie back. At this point offered us to reimburse us the repairs as it seemed that the safest option would be to replace the dishwasher with a new one (we have wooden floors so leaking appliances are a big NO). We accepted his offer and Eddie even stopped by to drop the reimbursement check. Although the outcome was not the one we anticipated we had a good experience with Precision Appliances Services and we are highly recommending them. read more

Not that he needs any more glowing reviews, but here 'goes. My fridge conked out two days before Christmas (of course). Based on his great reviews, I called Precision. Eddie answered right away and came over later that day, at the time he said he would. He was courteous enough to inform me that should the repair take longer than a day, he wouldn't be working for a few days over the Christmas holiday, and if that would be a problem, then perhaps I should call someone else. I really appreciated his honesty. He put on a temporary 'relay' (whatever that is), informing me that it was a stop-gap measure that may or may not work, but could hold me over until the real repair was done. He charged me about $100 for call and $200 for the repair. Well, the next day, the fridge was still not working. I called, Eddie answered and came over within the hour. He said that the problem was a bigger one that he couldn't repair and spent an unhurried 15-20 minutes with me discussing my options (buy a used fridge, buy a new fridge, attempt to repair this fridge) and the pro's and con's of each. Then, since the temp fix he'd put on didn't work, he....wait for it...GAVE ME BACK $200 CASH!! Have you ever?? The repairman he referred me to worked out perfectly, obviously cut from the same rare honest-repairman cloth as Eddie, and my fridge is now up and running, humming merrily along. So, 5 stars for someone who didn't repair my fridge? Yes. He was prompt, courteous, patient, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend him. By the way, AVOID the 'authorized service providers' that the manufacturers for some awful reason, recommend. They are usually terrible. Read the Yelp reviews and believe them. It was a bit hard at first making sure I had it scheduled for someone to come by and do a diagnostic on the broken dryer unit, but Edward did end up getting back to me in the time frame he said he would. He brought a great technician (who's name I forget) who figured out what was wrong with the dryer and also reconnected my hoses for me since the person that installed it didn't put it in the pipe deep enough. He also gave me advice on what I should clean and how often in order to prevent molding. I was really pleased he was able to fix it then and there. They are also one of the few companies in the Brooklyn area who work not only on stacked units but also Bosch ones. Great service! read more

My dishwasher was not draining and I had someone from another service come who after 5 mins, insisted that we needed a new computer board for $450. I then called Precision and John came and actually looked at the drain, listened to the dishwasher by lying on the floor and determined that we probably only needed a new pump. Sure enough, when he went to install the new one, he found a piece of glass that had caused the old one to stop working. I live in a small coop building and we have a coin operated washer and dryer. The dryer had stopped heating and wouldn't stop spinning when you would open the door. The washer didn't always spin out all the water and the clothes didn't seem that clean. They are both old but the building felt instead of investing right now in new ones lets get these working again. Eddie agreed it was worth saving these machines. These older machines are just great work horses. Eddie was friendly, he was on time and he explained clearly what needed to be done on both machines. He was also great at responding to my messages. This is my first review on Yelp. I called Eddie about a broken dial on our clothes dryer. After describing the problem he instructed me over the phone on how to remove the dial to check if it was broken- which it was- and this saved me a call out charge and allowed me to repair the dryer myself. All I had to do was order the part and when it arrived I was able to attach it in a matter of seconds. The owner, Eddie, was punctual, professional, honest and helpful. He related my dryer, which needs a new door. Instead of dragging out the process, he requested that I send pictures of the damage and the dryer's model/serial numbers. He then made an appointment to install the new door as soon as the parts arrived. The whole process took 4 days. Efficient, and respectful of everyone's time and schedule. This is IN CONTRAST to trying to schedule a service call by the manufacturer, which took 3 weeks before parts and a second visit to install could take place. First of all, it was very easy to schedule an appointment, and he even said he'd call when he was a few minutes away from my place to let me know he was almost there. Eddie came when he said he would (which was the same day), looked at the dryer, gave me an estimate, came back when the part came in, and after taking apart the dryer, realized that the dryer was in worse shape than he originally thought (basically, because we had let it go for quite a while before calling for a repair). Instead of just going through with the repair, he explained that while he can make it work for a while, there is a good chance it would break again in a few months, so I would be better off buying a new dryer than paying first for a repair and then having to buy a new dryer later anyway. After wasting time on the LG customer service line just to get phone numbers of LG authorized repair centers for my LG combo washer dryer, I called Precision. Eddie heard me out, asked for the serial number and said he could get someone over to me in a day. As promised, John did come the very next day and was even able to work around my meeting schedule. He diagnosed the problem right away and said I'd need a new hose. He did not try to unnecessarily upsell me on other stuff and gave me useful suggestions about maintenance. My washer is 9+ years old, so I was wondering aloud about whether I should get a new one, but he gave me his honest opinion about that too. They ordered the hose and John came back right after Labor Day, again with an early call to reconfirm and give me an even more specific time and fixed the machine as promised. Called Percision and spoke to Ed, told him I had problems with my refrigerator and he came a few hours later. It was raining outside when he came, as soon as he entered my house he put protective booties over his shoes which impressed me. Eddie and Vinnie repaired our Frigidaire washing machine which had a clogged pump. They were courteous, told us the cost before arriving and stuck to that fee, found a gas leak (and turned off the gas valve) we didn't know about emanating from the dryer and recommended another great contractor to repair that leak. Eddie even called me the day before the leak repair to advise me to get National Grid to the house to ensure there were no other leaks.
