I have these guys come to my house to give me an estimate to adjust the spring and reinstall the cables the guy told me he would have to take down the whole garage door and start all over and it was going to be $275, i'm so glad I found the other companies card I called them they came back today only cost me $95 to fix. Once I told the guy that price is too high and never mind he said he would do it for $215. read more

This is an update to the review that I left on 3/15/17. I find that I need to amend my rating based on a review of my overall charges as well as a final detail: the next day I noticed a line of dark greasy hand prints all along the bottom of my light colored garage door...on the outside. Again, while I appreciate how quickly the technician was able to respond and how knowledgeable, patient and efficient he seemed to be, this final detail, along with the cost of the repair (spring had broken and I agreed to that repair along with new rollers ...almost $200 for rollers?), has led me to change my rating. read more

This company has awful costumer service and it is very expensive. They quoted us over $550 and another company did the job for $300.

Bad experience with precision. Over the phone I tried getting a ballpark estimate of the cost and they told me a $60 service fee and that a technician would have to evaluate what was needed. I again asked for a ballpark estimate and she said it really just depended. They had a technician in the area so I went ahead and scheduled it figuring they would be competitive with other places, only to find that the technician they sent quoted me over 2 times the price of anywhere else I'd called. Needless to say I was not happy with this and will be going with another company. And sadly I was still charged a service fee for the 10-minute visit! I will say the technician was very nice though. I should have known better when they refused to give me a ballpark estimate. read more

Our garage door wasn't opening and we assumed it was the opener. Went to Lowes, purchased a new garage door opener and used their service for installation. After the Lowes "handyman" installed the new opener, he told us the spring was broken, so we contacted Precision at 5 pm on a Tuesday. They were able to get to us first thing Wednesday morning. Corey Gentz called at 7:30 to say he was on his way and would be here in an hour (we're in Santa Fe). He arrived right on time and fixed the spring. PLUS, he went over the work done by the Lowes "handyman" and found loose bolts, wires that were not connected and sensors that were misaligned. He said it was most likely the opener would have fallen from the ceiling in pretty short order. He programed the openers for us (which the Lowes guy also didn't do) and offered to mount the outside panel. We were very impressed with his professionalism and the quick response from Precision. If we ever have garage door issues in the future, Precision is who we'll call! read more

Relentless upselling. I called them to fix a torsion spring (about $100 repair) and they told me I needed a new door. When that did not work they told me I needed "reconditioning" I had to call another company to get the simple repair I needed. read more

I recently called on this company to replace the weather seal on the sides of my garage door. This company promptly responded and they were very professional. I had some worn wheels which were also replaced and they siliconed the door. Once the work was done they cleaned the door and ensured I was satisfied. I called this company a second time as I wanted to see if they could fix or recommend how t fix the gap between part of the garage door seal and the garage floor. The service rep called and told us how to fix this probem with no charge. I highly recommend this company. This company provides excellent service and customer service. read more

Gary Lang is great, very knowledgeable, and so are his team of techs. Gary did initial estimate, and was very accommodating when we wanted it done in two phases, worse door first, then second door and remotes later. (We have two one-sided doors). All work done now. Very reasonable cost. Safety-minded, conscientious. Gary took time to explain everything from the start. Giving all options. I called Precision on a Saturday morning and we scheduled for Sunday, so quick and worked on a weekend, that was great. The tech explained the problems and options. He did recommend the least expensive, that was good, but it was still expensive. This is my only complaint but quite likely more that I just didn't want to spend so much money. I expect a part of the expense was because it was Sunday. read more

SO disappointed with this company. My elderly neighbor who is a recent widow left her garage door open. I went over there late and, not wanting to wake her, closed her door. It required me to disengage her garage door. The next day I went to reengage her door and couldn't get the door to reengage. Knowing it was something simple, and seeing the sticker for Precision Door on her garage door, I called them, explained the situation and asked for help. I was ignored. I called again the next morning, explained the situation again, and asked for instruction over the phone, and was informed that Precision Door does not work for free. Unreal. I then called their competitor, Windsor Door, explained what had happened with my neighbor's door, and the gentleman took 30 seconds, and told me what to do to get her door reengage. I will now go and give Windsor a 5 star rating. They know how to treat others, especially elderly widows. Shame on you, Precision. read more

Called on a Sunday asking for a quote, stated they would send someone out and that the repair to my garage would likely be around the $200.00 range. "Technicians" showed up, and then changed the story. Wanted to sell a "package" for $499.99 plus tax plus a service call or a new garage door for $1,100.00 not including installation, plus a service call fee. CHARGED $49.99 plus tax for just telling my wife this. BEWARE of this bait and switch tactical company! STAY AWAY and do NOT TRUST these people. read more

Do not hire this company! Precision Garage Door does shoddy work, uses inferior materials and is difficult to deal with. I regret getting a garage door installed by this untrustworthy company. I should have done my research! It has been over a year and I still don't have a door that I can use. They don't seem to know how to install doors properly. I was charged $1,139.50 for a new door. After using the door a few months I was charged $278.09 for a "crashed door". The door broke down without any external force. The owner, Craig Amundson, came out a couple of times, who I need to point out is not a certified garage door installer, and tried to diagnose the problem himself. About a year later, Craig Amundson and Patrick Slater, the rep. for Amarr Heritage doors, also not a certified garage door installer, determined that the problem was my Genie garage door opener. My opener is new and in good condition. This company's employees are poorly trained on any kind of openers. Now they want $450 for an opener and $250 to fix the broken door, track and rollers. The owner has yelled at me and even hung up on me. Craig Amundson does not stand behind his work or his promises. If this review saves anyone the trouble, time and money these guys have cost me, it was well worth it. Please save yourself a lot of headaches. Hire someone else. read more

We contacted Precision via email and explained what type of spring we had and what was wrong. A person emailed back saying they could fix it as they have a fully stocked truck. The service fee was roughly $50 to come out. Two days later (and very tired of lifting a very heavy garage door), they showed up. The repair man explained the did not carry the parts we needed and we would have to get the whole thing replaced. As we were out $50 to have them ring the door bell and not knowing they charge way more than competitors, we had them fix what we thought was just the spring. Boy were we wrong! They charged us $700 and then had the nerve to change us the additional $50 for the service fee! When they tried to charge $190 to fix a $160 garage door opener, we knew we were had. We contacted the owner the next day and after some disagreements and arguments, the owner agreed to come out and take off their high quality wheels (which we never ask for), put crappy ones on and refund us $200. Better than nothing, we accepted his offer. Monday morning we discovered the owner had left a message late Friday afternoon at our work saying he changed his mind and we would not get the $200 refund. Please do not consider using Precision. You can get another company to do a similiar job for much less. Learn from our mistakes and research, research, research! Everything is guaranteed for life, but you pay for that guarantee upfront with their rediculous prices. It is not worth it. read more
