I searched on line for a garage door company to purchase a new double car wide garage door. The initial call was fine and I was informed of a two hour window for a representative the next day. Nothing was urgent, and I could be home at the scheduled time frame. 25 minutes remaining for the scheduled time, I received a call from the rep stating he would be arriving in 1 1/2 hours and gave the location of where he currently was. Yep, 2 hours drive time away. I then asked why did he not call in the morning when he realized the locations of his work would more than likely lead to be late. He replied that he is double booked and that he never knows how long he will be at a location. I really did not want to listen, as my recent experiences with businesses have proven futile. I keep hearing what the company is doing that doesn't meet the client needs; and I as the client needs to wait and be amenable to the company. The rep gave me another number to call to complain. I called back to the company and the individual answering the call kept stating "I didn't schedule" - which in my view I don't care. But organizations keep defending their practice of poor communication and give reasons why they can't keep their commitments. Some of you may state "no big deal" they were going to be late, but at my expense of time. Had this been clear up front, I could have waited for another day that would be within a stated time frame. BTW, this is the second door company contacted - the first company would only give a verbal quote after asking 3 times for an email proposal. Seems as if this is the new environment on organizations; it's all about the company without regard to the consumer or client. Beware of what they tell you, it probably is false. I wish my sister would call Aging services and file a complaint against this company. They actually charged her $600.00 to install a garage door opener. I called anonymously to inquire about their installation rate. I was quoted$150.00. My recommendation! If you need your garage door serviced or need a new install go to a trusted company. Such as, Home Depot, Lowe's or a local company within your community. Also, check their ratings. read more

My family is in need of new garage doors so I asked my neighbors who they used and 2 of the 3 I asked used Precision Garage Doors. They even gave me the number. I called and left 3 messages and no one called. I went onto the website and filled out a electronic form to set up an appointment for an estimate. I got a automatic response saying they would get back to me. Nothing! I sent them another email and asked if they forgot me, no response. I hear they do good work but I don't know how if they don't get back to potential customers. I will not be using Precision Garage Doors nor will I tell people to go there. I think I will use Home Depot or Lowes. At least I know they will get back to me. read more

On Thursday 1-29-2015 I called Precision and got a quote to replace a broken spring. They quoted me $149 to replace the broken spring.  I made an appointment for the following day between 0800 and 1200 hrs. On Friday the installer (Mark) called and showed up around 0930. After showing him the obvious broken spring he tried to up sale me additional parts and services. I told him that I was just renting the house and just wanted the broken spring fixed and I would let my landlord know of his other recommendations. When he showed me the price to fix the spring it was $314. I told him that I was quoted $149 to replace the single spring. He said that was just for the spring and not the labor. I told him i was not going to pay that amount because it was over double the quoted price. He left without doing any work. As soon as he left I called Precision back to tell what had happened. I told her what had been said and she again said that it should have been $149 to replace the broken spring. I asked if that was just the part or did the quote include the labor also, she said it was the total cost of the repair. She said that I could speak to a "manager" but they were all busy and someone would call me back on Friday or Saturday. I never received a phone call on Friday. On Saturday around 100 hrs. I again called the service center and had to tell the whole story again and again the girl said it should have been $149 to change the spring. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor or manager she said no one was available at this time but someone would call me back. After about 4 hours no one called back so called again to the call center. I talked to a different person and she told me someone was looking into what happened and would call me right back. After about 2 hours I once again call back, because no one called me and this time I was told that managers do not work weekend and no one was available until Monday. The girl stated that she will send an email and leave a voice mail for someone to call me first thing Monday morning. After 1130 hrs. I did not receive a call from anyone again. So I called one more time and was told that they were not available that they were probably out to lunch. She said she will leave an email and voice mail again. Finally at about 1250 hrs. I received a phone call from a manager. I again told my story and he said he would check it out and get back to me. I informed him that I had to leave for work in about 10 minutes. He asked for my email address and said he would email me what he found out I also stated that he could text me on the number they had. He stated "I will get right back to you". Of course he never did. I figured that they were just going to blow me off just like previous days. I called a different company to fix my garage door. I finally received a phone call around 1730 hrs.  from a different  "manager" and he said that he was trying to get me on the schedule to get my door fixed. I explained the whole story again and told him that I went with a different company to fix my door due to the lack of Precisions customer service. He seemed shocked that I called a different company to do the work. I would not recommend Precision Garage Door to anyone because of the lack of customer service and the price gouging tactics that they employ. P.S   The other company I called, local company, came out the next day and replaced my one broken spring with a 2 spring system for the same price that Precision was supposed to charge me for a single spring. He also stated that all the other services that Precision was trying to sell me were unnecessary. read more

This company has the absolute worst customer service I gave ever experienced. I had a garage door "fixed" by them several times. They never actually fixed the whole problem. I currently rent and I paid for a repair the day the tech came out. Then my landlord sent a check (with my name on it) with the same invoice I already paid. I have contacted these people several times on several different numbers. All I wanted them to do was simply refund my money. This has taken over TWO MONTHS. I called several times to speak to a manager, and conveniently they were never available, but they were given the message to call me back. I am STILL waiting for those call backs. I continued to be very persistent with one particular person, her name was Adelle. Her excuse was her accounting gal was on vacation (for 3 weeks, really). I kept calling her and she then told me they were sending a check. A week and a half later, still no check. I called back and she claimed it was sent out a couple data ago. Still don't have it. Needless to say she and all the other imaginary managers (oh, and the "owner" was contacted as well) are completely worthless. They obviously do NOT care about their customers. I have never been treated this poorly when trying to get something rectified that was NOT my fault to begin with. I am not talking trying to get back a $30.00 service fee, I'm talking trying to get $700.00 back from them. I would not recommend this company, unless you want to 1) pay way more for your repairs, 2) want to have a tech come out several times, 3) want them to keep your money and not give it back and finally 4) have the worst customer service experience ever. If this is what you are looking for, then this is definitely the company for you. If you want reasonably priced, great service I would look elsewhere. read more

It was easy to schedule an appointment with them and the tech showed up more or less on time. He did try to upsell me. To change a spring, he said the $100 ones are OK but come with only one year warranty, and a better one would cost $200 each. Then he said he recommended having 2 springs instead of just the one we had so if one were to break, the garage door wouldn't fall on us. In the end, I went with 2 springs, at $200 each, plus labor and the total was $509. That part was OK, even though it was more expensive than I had liked, but at least he gave me choices. When he tried to charge my credit card while still in the garage, he said the wireless signal was weak and it didn't go through and he would run it again later. I joked with him to not charge me twice and he said of course not. Well, lo and behold, the charge appeared on my credit card twice, and I called the company to reverse one of the charges. They admitted that they charged me twice and would fix it as soon as possible. After a few voicemail messages back and forth, 3 weeks later, the second charge is still not reversed. Now I am working with my credit card company to get it corrected. Now the whole expereince has turned from somewhat positive to definitely negative! read more

He explained everything clearly and had good pointers. I believe a house is an investment and as such you have to do things right and always with the best! Bandits!!! The tech is actually a high-pressure salesman. He said "good" "better" or "best" those are your choices to put a roller back on track. He wanted to replace every moving part but I insisted he just get it working. After about 10 minutes of work, he charged me the "good" price of $443.90. I would NOT recommend this company. I had to call the head office to try to help us get a receipt for their "service call" which was paid in cash a week ago. We couldn't justify their high estimate to repair - $389!!! Fortunately, we are very happy with the next company we called and had looked at it. They only charged us $38 to repair it - which happens to be LESS than the amount Precision charged just to look at it. read more

I have had Precision Door Service replace the spring on my garage door in the past and was satisfied with their service, so when the door opener went out, I called them back. They were very prompt and did a good job. The problem? Can't get a receipt. Sure, they keep sending me invoices, but all the invoices say I still have a balance. This door opener has a warranty, and I want the receipt to verify that I purchased it. I've called many times, and the last time, the girl told me that was how the invoices print out; they never confirm to buyers that they've paid for service or products on the invoice. I wanted to talk to her supervisor, but of course, the supervisor was "busy" and never called back. He was supposed to email me a copy of a receipt or something that shows I've paid when he was free, but that never happened. Not sure if these people do this so they can weasel their way out of the warranty, but it's pretty shady. I will keep a copy of the invoice along with my credit card statement to show I paid the invoice; but I won't be doing business with them again. read more

Where do I start? I will go with the positives first. I watched a few you tube videos from Precision and they were informative and funny. So, I decided to give them a chance. I gave them a call and got a quote of $300 to install a garage door opener. That would mean that they would place bracket on the door, place the sensors, put a bracket for the opener and insert the 3 existing wires that were already there. This would mean a couple of hours of work at most. The math: $150 an hour for labor. All parts were going to be supplied. I called around and got other quotes of $150, $125 and $80. Go to their website and you find a 5 star rating. Too funny. Come to Yelp and get a general consensus of a measly 3 stars and this is with them probably buying some of the 5 stars.Bottom line is that they are overpriced! They probably do a descent job and are skilled at what they do. I can't verify because I couldn't get past their outrageous quote. read more

I should have looked up Yelp reviews before scheduling appointments with this company. Totally disappointed in their ability to service. I called them on a weekend when my garage door broke. Surprised to get an appointment under couple of hours the same day. Turns out tech calls later to reschedule because he is far away from my home. Re-scheduled to Monday. I was considerate since it was a weekend. Tech never showed up on Monday again and nor called to reschedule. When I called, receptionist told me that she could not reach the tech herself and offered to reschedule again. I could only imagine the work they would perform if they cannot care to keep appointments or have courtesy to call client when they cannot. Not recommended. read more

The tech. arrived on time, was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to fix the problem for me quickly. Now I wish I would have called them months ago. The manager called us and was willing to work with us. We received a partial refund in the mail. This was a very fair gesture but I would still be cautious. We shouldn't have to go to social media in order to be charged fairly. To their benefit they showed up quickly, were professional and fixed our problem. Don't waste your time with this company! The customer service is disappointing to say the least. I had called three times and left messages for a return call to discuss my needs. Finally received a call back from Don and scheduled an appointment for Friday. I was told the "Technician" would show up between 4:30-8:30pm and he would call first to advise he was in route. Don't bother calling these guys. Selling my home the buyer asked to have the garage door inspected, no problem. First thing out of the truck, you need a new garage door opener this one is really old, never seen one so old. Really, it's working fine just need to inspected. He looks at the opener from across the garage, he pretty sure it should be replaced. I said am not replacing. He starts looking at the rollers and spring, they need to be replace. It's rare that I get to relate my life to the Bible but your company made me think of the quote like a thief in the night when I called your company I called about the about noon and was told a man could be out between four and eight pm at a rate of $39 Plus parts at 8 p.m. Your man called and announced he was on his way from Hemet at 830 he arrived and assess the situation he claimed that he could put my door back in working order for $750 I exploded and all butt called him a thief . He then told me for $150 he could straighten the door and put it down so that people can't go in and out of my door when I'm away I told him he had me over a barrel paid him $150. I was able to find on the internet a brand new garage door installed with insulation for under $750 again I think of your company as a thief in the night this is what I have shared with several friends and what I intend to share with several more read more

My garage door opener failed so I contacted Precision Garage Door Riverside in that I have used them in the past. I scheduled an appointment and the technician was promptly dispatched to my home. When he arrived I was told the following: 1) my opener was "junk" , 2) all 4 of my springs needed to be replaced and the door was not balanced3) all cables, drums, and wheel bearings were bad and need to be replaced. When I asked if could replace the mother board in the opener and readjust the tension in the springs I was told " we never adjust spring tension and we will not replace your mother board without replacing the springs". I was emailed 3 options for repair which ranged from$1600 to $2300. I had On Trac replace my entire unit with the one they recommended, the cables replaced and the spring tension adjusted for less than $700. This company is a total sham aimed at ripping off unsuspecting hoe owners. Use them at your own risk! read more

We had a garage door spring suddenly break and we could not open the roll-up door. We contacted the company, got a quote of $149 for one spring and a $40 service fee, and had an appointment scheduled for the next morning. The next morning as the appointment time approached, we got a phone call from the company stating that the tech would be at our home soon. Ubi was our technician, he arrived on time, and was very professional. The unfortunate part was the amount of wear and tear on the garage door that was about 11 years old, I found out that the spring quote we received over the phone was a lower quality one, we wanted a more durable one, also learned they could not just replace one side, that was a little disappointing and of course more expensive. Bearings were shot, which Ubi showed me and compared to a new one. I agreed, being some what handy with tools, etc., I knew what I was looking at. One thing I don't mess with are springs, anything with a lot of tension, I do not want to mess with. His work was thorough and he got the job done pretty quickly. He explained everything to us. If I could give them a zero I would. They came out to check my garage door after it stopped working through my home warranty company, American Home Shield. The opener was clearly broken, likely due to age. Should have been completely covered under my home warranty, but the technician told American Home Shield that the springs were bad and had to be replaced along with the garage door opener, which would cost me almost $600, plus the garage door opener. Since the technician said the springs were bad, AHS would not pay for the garage door opener until I paid Precision almost $600 to replace the springs. I refused and immediately called another garage door company to get a second opinion. They told me there was nothing wrong with the springs and the opener was simply old and had busted and needed to be replaced. Precision was trying to scam me out of an additional almost $600, over and above the $500 they would have been paid by AHS to replace the broken garage door opener. Let me start off by saying that the technicians that do the installation were great even the gentleman who came and gave the estimate for the job was great. But the process overall ordering my garage door with this company has been the worst experience I've had. When I first placed my order which I did upgrade to insulated doors and windows they told me it would be about five weeks. After five weeks I heard nothing. I myself had to call and find out what was going on only to find out that the manufacture was taking longer than normal but no one called to tell me. Even speaking with the lady over the phone tried to make it seem like it wasn't their fault and put the blame on the manufacture only. We again gave it a few weeks and had to call again to get the garage door installed. When the garage door was installed the wrong windows were sent and one of the panels were damaged. I wanted them ordered the way I originally requested and here it is two months later and still have not heard anything from the company. Initial contact with sales rep was timely, and courteous. The nightmare began with the installation date. Don (the manager) set up installation 3 days after the original promised date. After the installation was complete, I noticed one of the decorative panels was crooked and I showed the installer. He said that was how their manufacturer had made it. I told him that was unacceptable and he said he would have the manager get in touch with me. Don did call and gave me a time a date when the panel would be changed. On that day, no one called and no one showed up. I called the office and the lady who responded said she would get in touch with the installer and Don to find out what the status was. She was not able to get in touch with anyone and left messages to call me. No one did. I called the next morning and spoke to the same lady. She again called Don and installer only to have to leave messages again. About 30 minutes after that, Don called and apologized saying he never got any messages the day before and the next morning's messages were the first he had heard about it (not sure at this point whose lying, Don or female office employee). I told him his company's initial contact with customers was great but his follow through with installation was atrocious. I also told him that I had 2 friends interested in updating their garage doors and I couldn't in all honesty recommend his company. He swore up and down that the installer would come the following day (again, 2 days after the promised date!) to change the panel at 4pm. I asked him what happens when no one shows up and he said that would not happen and he would personally make sure the job was done at 4pm. Well now it is 410pm. I have called and spoken to a different office employee who was absolutely useless. He left messages for Don and the installer only after I lost my last bit of patience and started raising my voice. He said the installer advised him that he would call me when he was on his way between the 4p to 6p window they give. I told him that was not what Don had promised yesterday. He said that was all he could do so I just hung up. Well now it is 449p and installer just called to say he would be here in 15 minutes....... Installer just showed up (507p, panel looks good) I told him the in house communications and scheduling is awful and he said he had nothing to do with it, he's just the installer. I asked him why he didn't show up yesterday and he said I was never on his schedule!! Again, not sure whose lying but that's two discrepancies with Don involved. He also advised me that the 888 number on their contracts is for an office on the east coast. That explains why I was put on hold every time and waited for long periods while the office personnel tried to get in touch with local personnel. Door is finally completed! Looks good thanks to the installer. I feel like I should get a discount because of all the grief! To sum it up, if the door gets done correctly the first time, you might have a good experience. If there is any kind of problem that requires a follow up visit, well good luck....you've been warned! read more

I've been requesting an update regarding a service call that was done in my home exactly a month ago. A part had to be special ordered, which would take a couple of weeks, which is understandable. For the past 2 weeks I have called 4 separate times trying to get an update and every single time I have had the same response from their customer service drones telling me that they're in a corporate office and do not have updates on service calls. Every single time the rep states that she has left a message for the manager of the office that handled my call and she guaranteed that I would get a call back. So far, this has not happened which is quite frustrating. I wouldn't really make a big deal about this and could probably find another company with better service, however I have already paid for half of the service which is unfortunate becuase now due to being ignored as a paying customer, not only for this call, but a previous one with a cost of almost $900!, I feel that the only recourse I have is to pay a visit to their local office in Riverside and speak to the franchise owner Dawn to request a refund. This lack of follow through from management is unacceptable and shouldn't be tolerated by the owner, management and most importantly, me, the customer. To any potential customers, think twice before calling Precision, your experience might take the same turn mine did. read more
