My mom was having major issues with her garage door -- loud grinding noises, stopping mid-operation, and becoming unreliable enough that she was honestly scared to use it. Another company came out previously and immediately pushed her toward replacing the entire door, quoting a minimum of $3,500 for what, frankly, would have been a pretty underwhelming aluminum door that wouldn't have suited her Bellevue home at all. More importantly, I wasn't convinced the door itself was the issue. The existing door is a beautiful custom solid wood door from 1997 that still looked completely fine to me. On Saturday 5/16, Jesse came out to inspect the door. Just as promised, the consult was free, and within about 30 minutes he confirmed exactly what I suspected: the door itself was NOT the problem. The real issue was the aging mechanical system and motor. Our motor was over 20 years old, barely strong enough for the roughly 300 lb wood door, and ALL of the moving components were worn out. What I appreciated most was that Jesse gave us OPTIONS instead of pressure. He explained we could: 1. Replace the entire door at whatever quality level we wanted -- He was honest that a comparable custom wood door would likely be extremely expensive; but it would come complete with completely new mechanical parts that would solve the issue... OR 2. Keep the existing door and completely overhaul the mechanics -- springs, bearings, rollers, center track, and opener. We chose option #2, and I'm very glad we did. The original quote for that was around $5,100, but Jesse worked with me on pricing and negotiated fairly. We ultimately landed around $3,500 for a full mechanical overhaul plus a brand-new motor system. I felt good recommending that path to my mom because it preserved the original door we love while making everything function safely and smoothly again. Now the door works like new -- no grinding, no scary noises, no jerking or stopping. The upgraded opener is also a huge improvement: * properly rated for the weight of the door * battery backup (a big deal since their power goes out frequently) * smartphone/app compatibility for remote open/close access Overall, Jesse was honest, patient, knowledgeable, and transparent throughout the entire process. As someone who is very cautious about contractors and pretty good at spotting when I'm being upsold, I genuinely felt like he approached this the right way. Unbelievably fantastic company, service, and product. My general contractor has estimated how much it would cost for the two garage doors we wanted. When the budget got tight, we looked around for various solutions and took on finding the right vendor for our garage doors. My wife has some special needs, so we really hoped we could get well insulated garage doors, with fogged privacy glass, side-garage-door openers (SO much cooler than regular chain openers - they really make the garage feel bigger and cleaner)... but with all those things, we figured we wouldn't be able to cut costs much... but we set the bar high with everything we wanted, and started shopping around. Precision Garage Door had wonderful people at every level. They answer the phone, they send you text messages with pictures of the people who will work with you, and they're totally professional at every level while somehow also being friendly and personable. Wes was the one who did the initial assessment. He found the EXACT color we needed (even gave me two samples to compare against our front door), and then walked me through all the insulation details, differences between opener types, window types, etc. All the details. He knew it all. Such clear understanding and knowledge made me feel confident that at least WES know what was going on (but sometimes, the field technicians have room to be desired...), and so he gave me an estimate. It was less than HALF what my general contractor had budgeted, and it was for literally EVERYTHING we wanted. They then made a 0% financing (for first 12 months) available to me (which I was quickly approved for), and then did the initial part of the split payment (about 60% of the total, so they can order the doors/materials). They then worked with me to find the perfect time for installation. They were actually ready to install BEFORE my GC was... and they also caught a framing flaw in the garage my GC missed. Today, they installed the garage doors, and they're absolutely gorgeous! What's really encouraging - not only was Wes super great, but Jordan A. was our technician who did the installation, and it was just perfect. He was communicative, and even though we didn't have power on site, they still made it work (while working through some serious wind chill). Every step of the process has been amazing. The quality of the doors and the openers is top notch (not to mention they just look so darn good!). The people are knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly (but not 'fake' ask how your cat is 'friendly'). I honestly couldn't be more impressed or more satisfied. They saved me money while giving me everything I wanted and doing so in a clean, organized, efficient way with strong communication. I literally can't imagine anything better. I have been very impressed with Precision. We ordered an opener install and garage door overhaul. The parts they use are high quality and sufficient to allow them to offer an incredible warranty. They stand behind their products and their service. The operator and online chat assistance is excellent and they are timely. Ben Bahr has been stellar in installation and servicing of our garage door system. There was a problem with the battery backup in our opener and he was able to come out the next day to have the battery replaced. He also goes the extra mile in adjustment and tuning to make sure the door is operating perfectly. He is very knowledgable and customer-service oriented. Subsequently we had the opener throw an error code and despite us calling Precision late in the evening (730pm) there was an operator who was able to schedule an urgent visit for us (next day or close to) with the same technician who has been working on our door system (Ben Bahr). Ben even called us after we made the appt with the Precision call center to find out more info and offered some advice in the interim until he was able to come out to investigate the error code. He also offered to come by after business hours on his way home if it worked for our schedule. I had mentioned that my garage door opener might need an upgrade later, but during testing the new spring's pressure, the opener's chain broke completely. When your garage door spring blows up... it's a sound you won't soon forget. I actually called what I thought was a different garage door company, when I got Precision. I'm so glad I did because they scheduled an appointment within 2 hours, and on time, Nathan showed up. He took a look and gave me three no-nonsense options. Each option was tailored to how much I wanted to get done today: 1) Just fix what's broke 2) Add some creature comforts (I.E. quieter rollers and bearings) 3) Full upgrade. He presented the break down and cost of each and completely left the decision up to me. No matter what I chose, he was going to make me happy. And that's exactly what he did. We have been using their service for a few years, they charge us about $375 for inspection, this year they said; they came, looked at the door, because doors need little repair to be up to code, so they put sticker, didn't inspect, touch or did any kind of work so ever! then they send us an invoice of over $1100 !! They said " they said 2 technicians!! ( even job doesn't requires 2 people) also their rate went way up!!! Tried to called them many times to solve issue, fix, inspect the door, recontinue doing business with them but they never respect or care for long term customer, they might be good in the past or management has been changed or new employees but customer service is very bad, a guy his name James was nice but never return call. a lady her name Tracy! not really nice & she wants to fight over the phone, she should work in Jail not as a customer service, to answer the phone! we're done with them, looking better company, really disappointed, they don't care, want money only they didn't do any work & not willing to work out with us read more

I began having opening issues with our garage door and after a week of coddling it I called our usual Door Company. They weren't able to come out for two days as well as not having parts for my 30+ year-old door. On a whim I called Precision who, after explaining in plain English their service call policies, sent a gentleman with 30 years experience installing doors to look at the issue. He was there less than 2 hours from my pohone call time the same day as I called. This knowlegeable individual offered three possible fixes for my issue, reset the force sensor, replace the controls or purchase a new system. Since mine was more than 30 years old and pretty cranky, I opted for a new system (very reasonalbly priced). Carlou Dalir came on the right time on our scheduled day of service. One of our garage door's cables had came off the pulley. Carlou did an excellent job of diagnosing the problem and explaining what was needed to get it fixed to us. He also gave us the quote for the service and asked us before proceeding with the work. After he fixed one of the doors, he also looked at the other door that wasn't working properly and he was able to tell quickly that backup battery was the issue and after we connected the motor to the electrical socket (which was not connected earlier), it started working fine. Carlou also gave us few good tips on how to save the life of the backup battery and educated us with some garage doors tips/knowledge. Excellent company who, because I had been extremely satisfied with them previously, when the spring broke I called them to repair it. I called in the morning and they were there by late afternoon as scheduled. Sergio, the technician, did an inspection of the entire system and noted some additional issues which were not unexpected given its age. He made some recommendations and offered several options for various repairs. No pressure to select one over the other. Once I decided, Sergio set to work and completed the work in a timely manner. Sergio was great, personable and reliable. He explained the issues clearly and worked diligently to complete the job, cleaning up afterwards. I had lost the door openers for my garage doors year ago, my car has built in buttons to open and close the doors, however I am selling my car and had no other way into the garages. I called Precision and Kevin Rodriguez came out. My openers were probably 25+ years old and my only option was to replace them. (Renewal by Anderson quoted $9000 more and wanted us to do some of the work!) After our beautiful new garage doors were installed and perfectly matched to the color of my home, installer Jeff noticed a small dent in one door, and asked to come back and take care of it. We had garage door that barely retracts anymore and Precision Door came out to give an estimate. We have used them before in the past and price was fair and the work was good. I think it it is a franchise, I am not sure if this is still the same place because this time the company tried to overcharge blaming everything on Covid. Fix the motor $1300!!!!!! Replace the spring (that wasn't broken but weak according to them) $480!!!!! This is a single small door. We told them to take a hike. The big home improvement stores still cost $180 to 300 for a new ooener plus install starting $127. I really dislike when businesses use this misery to line their pockets read more

The "electric eye" that stops the garage door from closing when an object is detected had quit working. I called Precision, and they sent Chris out the following morning, which was fine since it wasn't an emergency. He checked everything out and said he needed to order a part to complete the work. Chris called me the following Monday to say that the part had arrived, and set an appointment to come out Tuesday to fix it. He arrived on time, and finished the job in about an hour, Chris was very pleasant and professional, and explained everything he was doing from start to finish. My experience with Precision was excellent. Jim Black our installer was very knowledgable and professional. He replaced both torsion springs, rollers and gave the door a good tune up. I had originally just caller to get a spring repaired, but had a few other issues going on that I was not aware of. I spent a little more than I anticipated but the garage door works great and is quieter than when it was first installed. The springs installed are rated for many more operations that the other spring installers equipment. These guys did a great job start to finish. I could not be happier. read more
