Drew Daniel warmly greeted me and within minutes was busy performing a comprehensive safety check of both doors' operations. He had brought a replacement remote and began re-programming all four remotes. In a total of 30 minutes Drew had remedied my problem and had documented the problem by entering the fix into Precision's customer service database for future reference. Precision came out and charged us $5,000 to replace springs and rollers that we actually didn't need - and didn't replace the rollers as we found out later. Garage doors still made a lot of noise because they didn't lubricate the rollers which they charged us for. We were completely scammed by this company! Be warned - these guys work on commission. We finally found truth with another garage door company called Garage Door Works (used to be Rick's - who originally installed our doors). They charged us $89 for doors that only needed maintenance. The doors were not what we expected. They did not offer any option the rectify the concer. The weatherstrip was cut to long and is buckling on 2 of the doors. 1 door leaks water between the panels and the 3rd door is binding and won't shut. They also installed the switches in reverse. Scheduling and general communication was easy for a quick repair. The team was polite and explained things well. They don't provide free quotes. They charge a fee to come out and look over the system. Then they waive the fee if they do the repair (and if it's over some low value). I would have preferred a clearer quoting process, but it seems like most folks just want to show up and do the repair and not visit twice. They were responsive, and effectively repaired the broken torsion spring. But they charged $700 for what should be a $200-350 repair (according to Homeadvisor). They also quoted $1000 for a new garage door opener (installed). A high-quality new one that is more powerful than required for our door costs $189 plus $37 for an extension kit (say $250 including tax). Their installation-only quote of $250 plus $60 service ($310 total) is a little high but within the reasonable range. It seems like they're skilled, and charge reasonable prices for jobs that are naturally scheduled and non-urgent, but extremely high prices for jobs that are typically urgent and not shopped around. read more

Brett, the store manager, made me feel like a villain when I was trying to get my deposit refunded ($456) for a cancelled order. Brett told me I was taking food out from his employee's mouths for getting this refund and was shaming me for "being this kind of person," It literally left me in tears. I never signed anything saying that I couldn't be refunded. The lady I was talking to before Brett couldn't even find the fine print that said no refunds, which Brett and the company claimed. They said the door was a special order, which I was never informed of, so they couldn't cancel it and refund me. I was getting a door repaired for a house I was renting and my now ex-landlord (I no longer live there) said we didn't have enough time to repair it before I moved out. I originally ordered the door on February 12th and was quoted a 4-6 week part delivery, I followed up 2 weeks later and the company said they couldn't pick it up until April 15th; my landlord said to not worry about it and just cancel it. I called to cancel on February 29th. Brett told me I should eat the cost, which I cannot afford as a 21 year old living on her own, and ultimately made me feel horrible. I was stuck in the middle as I do not own the house and do not have control over what my ex-landlord does with it. He did end up issuing me a refund but shamed me the entire time. He filled in more time by telling me how to tighten the bolts and lubricate 3 stars because the coupon said a service visit was $79. However the appointment lady said it was $89 but neglected that there is a $17 fuel surcharge. Add that plus tax and the bill was $116 for a 10 second fix. That is painful. I was advised the missing insulation will be installed in 3 to 7 days, it's been over 2 months. No word from them, sent them email and still no response. DONT USE THESE GUYS.
