Trust me, just call this one…read more I got inspection/quotes from a few other garage door shops before Isaac from Instant Garage Door Repair (AKA A.M.B. Garage Doors, they merged apparently). They all found the very obvious issue (door arm was missing) and said "yeah we'll need to replace the entire thing". Isaac actually open/closed the door a few times, looked where it might be catching or rubbing, checked the roller wheels and springs, door alignment, etc. Isaac very clearly knows garage doors -- and he delivered. He was able to service the main maintenance in like 40 minutes; it went from being impossible for my partner to open/close manually to being almost no effort (and it's a heavy door)! In addition, there was a broken and missing piece of plastic where the door arm normally connects... he was able to CUSTOM CRAFT a small piece of metal that fits perfectly into where the missing piece was, removing the need to replace the otherwise-functional system! All of this ran us half what other places quoted us for the full system replacement, and none of them even talked about realigning the door or upgrading rollers or anything, and he did it without needing to schedule another day.

We contacted so many garage door repairs across Seattle and Redmond area. None came even close to what CHS did for us. They are very friendly, trustworthy and professional. Adam almost immediately responded to my request, he came the next day, to inspect and gave us an estimate. Which was honestly the best estimate we had so far, compared to all the other companies who took weeks to respond or didn't even show up. Within less than a week of me contacting them, our brand new insulated garage door with windows is in perfect working condition now, thanks to Adam and Mario. No hassle. No cutting corners. Adam showed up and spent a fair bit of time listening to my layman's explanation that caused the door to open randomly which was worsening and observing the garage door opening and closing. He quickly observed a problem with the current chain drive that affected the door itself as well as indicating that it was probably an electronics board problem . The chain rubbing also helped him determine what sort of opener would be an appropriate replacement. He had to drive from Seattle to Tacoma to get the opener and from the time he was headed my way at the start of the repair visit to the time down and back he kept me informed via text. He also noticed another issue with the door and offered to fix that as well . All in all I was impressed with the job he did and the patience he exhibited when presenting me with replacement options. The torsion spring on our garage door broke and we emailed CHS. Expecting to get a response in a few hours to a day, Adam called within 5 minutes. We set a time for Adam to come by and provide a quote and he was at our door exactly when he said he would be. He quoted a price that was agreeable and we set a time to have the repair done. Adam was on time again for the repair, did the work in less time than he said it would take and the door opened and closed as it should. He also pointed out a spot on the door that had taken a hit from the prior owner that actually had snapped a bracket on the door. Adam indicated I could get away with the broken bracket for awhile but it would be better to fix. He had the part needed in his truck and the cost was minimal so I had him do it. Adam did a great job on helping fixing one of our garage doors. I talked with 2 other companies before talking with him: the first one only wanted to replace the whole garage door. They promised to provide quotas the 2nd day but simply ghosted. The 2nd company wanted to charge more than 80 bucks just for the quota. After I called him, Adam came over promptly to provide quotas for both replacing the whole door as well as fixing it. He was frank about the drawbacks of fixing the door instead of replacing it. We ended up moving forward with fixing the door because it would cost much less right now, and it provides us a chance to maximize our ROI on the newly replaced springs for the same door. CHS and Adam lived up to the great reviews I read. He was very responsive and since my job required multiple visits, he communicated through-out. My garage door opener was having mysterious problems - only working intermittently and Adam performed a lot of research which he shared with me, and ultimately we decided to go with a new installation. Adam was also flexible when I had a family issue and had to reschedule at the last minute, and he did not put me off for several weeks, like so many contractors do. We had a gap at the bottom edge of one of our garage doors due to a slope in the concrete floor. We got in touch with Adam who sent out Dan to look it over. Dan adjusted the belt as much as possible, but it wouldn't go any further. Dan came back several days later to install a new garage opener system with a greater range of motion for the door to drop down further. The gap is nearly gone now and we are happy with the result. The gap was much bigger and the pest control advised us to get the gap closed to prevent rodents from entering our garage. Dan was very accommodating to our schedule and was able to fit us in. Garage door could rise no more, trapping our car in its maw. Called a few companies but needed help today. Adam returned the call, said he might be able to make a late afternoon call. Loved this company! Called for a bid and was given one within that day. I had a new garage door within a week. The installer wore his mask from the minute he stepped out of the truck and immediately started the job. I am unable to climb a ladder so he also place the light bulbs into the new unit. This company went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of, you don't often find customer service like this anymore. CHS was able to do what others told me was "impossible" in allowing our low-clearance garage door to open just a few inches more to fit a taller car. Adam was responsive and fast and when he arrived and looked at our situation, he identified a solution that was incredibly simple -- and far cheaper than the full-track replacement I was asking him to do. The young man I spoke to promised me that THIS TIME the lady who is apparently the only one in the whole company who can help me, would definitely call me back the second she got off the phone - and before noon. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She assured me of the same thing. I said, "this is attempt #6, please, PLEASE call me back before the deadline so we have time to deal with this mess you all have made at my house." GUESS WHAT, Y'ALL. 6:30pm and STILL NO CALL BACK. Which lucky attempt do we think it will be before someone responds? #10? #11?? The heat death of the universe??

I had previously use Garage Door Pros in 2023 for a garage door spring and had a 4 star rating for…read morethem. However, my most recent experience with last week was not great. I called for a garage door motor issue. The good: They were able to send someone pretty quickly. The person seemed knowledgeable and the new motor was installed and works well so far. He quoted a unit price and labor charge upfront, which I agreed to pay and paid. The bad: After the service was over, the receipt I got was from Tako Garage Doors. The person mentioned that they subcontract after hours. This was not what I wanted or had signed up for. More importantly I later did research on the unit that was installed and there seems to have been over a 100% markup. I called Garage Door Pros with this concern. However, they just had the guy from Tako call me and he said thats what the company needed him to charge. He did send me an itemized receipt. And I saw a clear over 100% markup on the unit, the keypads and the remotes.

I called and the technician arrived within 3 hours. The repair took under 30 minutes from arrival to departure. It was Friday, so I believe it was considered "Emergency" garage repair, and the price was $495 plus sales tax. The technician was the owner, and he was polite and professional. He also pointed out how a prior installer did a sub-standard job of installing my door opener. At request he provided a quote for fixing that, another $400. If you need quick, efficient, & professional garage door service, Garage Door Pros checks those boxes, though it may come at a premium cost.
