I live in Ballard. Anderson Door is on Aurora Ave. Anderson installed our garage door in 2018. Recently the top roller came off the track because the track is barely long enough when the door closes. After I got the roller back into the track I asked them to come out because it seemed to me that the installer cut the track too short. The repair person came out and I told him I thought the door was installed improperly. He sprayed oil on the roller and said I should have keep the rollers oiled. (I oil them a couple of times a year) Next he said - That will be $100.33. I said I asked you to see if the installation was questionable and you're charging me $100.33 to spray oil on a roller that I oiled a few months ago. He said - Your warrantee is expired - We don't make repair calls for free. I asked to be billed and he said that's too much paper work for them - pay me now. My wife and I were shocked. But then - maybe our expectations were unreasonable. I did pay them to avoid having a lien placed on my house. Buyer beware! read more

Anderson's Door was recommended to me, so I reached out to schedule a quote for a specific service. They said they could make it out the next day, which was great. Then two hours later they called to cancel the appointment, except they called from a different (800) number. When I asked them "what company are you calling from?" they got flustered and had to ask my zip code before they could give me a straight answer. Then they told me that they're actually "The Garage Door Works" and that they "merged" with Andersen's. What's even weirder about the whole thing is that the number that called me back is an 800 number that Google associates with a defunct garage door company out of San Diego (that gets terrible Yelp reviews.) They rescheduled for a couple days out and was given a three hour window for the appointment. On the day of, the representative was unapologetically late and the call center was rude and dismissive about it, which doesn't bode well for the timeliness or professionalism of the work they're going to do. Then when he showed up, he told me they don't even do the work that I specifically asked about when scheduling the appointment. Who knows what all that means, but the whole thing felt super shady and was frustrating to have to go through. Won't be moving forward. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Anderson's Door earlier today. They were prompt, reliable, and great communicators. We had recently been having some trouble with the track on one of our garage doors. Anderson's Door gave us a time window of 10am - 2pm today. They texted my husband shortly in advance of their visit, letting him/us know when to expect them - then showed up right at that time, about 10:45am. I really appreciated it that they showed up in the earlier part of the stated time window. It made everything go so smoothly. Both of the workers were wearing masks, which I really appreciated. They explained to us that replacing the entire track (plus the motor that opens the garage door) would cost about as much as replacing the part of the track that was causing the issue (it had worn down with age), so we decided to have them replace the entire track, plus the motor that opens the garage door. They had to make a second visit because they needed to get the parts to do the job, and once again they were prompt, reliable, and great communicators regarding when they were going to be back. They did a great job. Our garage door opens fully and smoothly now, and it is also quieter when it opens than it was before. We are very happy with Anderson's Door. We would call them again if we wanted our garage doors serviced, and we would definitely recommend their services to others. read more

Sadly, I had a pretty bad experience with Anderson's Door Co Inc when trying to install a new garage in our home. We first stopped by their location and they were great, the lady who received us was really nice and showed us the different options, materials and prices, very knowledgeable overall. A few days later someone came to our house to checkout the old garage door and to provide a quote. He said he would come back with a quote in about a week, but never happened. We emailed him after about a week and a half but we did not get a reply either. After a few days I called him directly on his mobile and he mentioned that they messed up the documentation and they would have to go and measure everything again but they are only willing to go weekdays 9AM-5PM. I explained both my wife and I work regular office hours and we already took the time for the first appointment but we understand and we were willing to be there a full day where they could measure the garage again. It's been about a week and a half and I never got a confirmation from either the technician or the sales personnel (I included both emails after I talked to them in person as well). I was really upset because there was ZERO communication from their end and they showed no interest or even apologize for their own mistakes and we lost 3 or 4 weeks of our time trying to reach them. Luckily I found another company which showed up to our house the very same day we contacted them and gave us a quote the day after. The door locking mechanism is very poorly designed and the functionality is asinine. Edge hook bolts interfere with the jam latch plate to the point the handle falls off or breaks once a month. I heard a loud pop come from my garage while standing outside the door and then lo and behold, my 50 year old, wooden garage door wouldn't open. After fishing around inside I saw that one of the big torsion springs had broken. I looked for repair options online and it seemed that every local number I called routed back to the same call center people who wouldn't offer an estimate. After reading these services' reviews I could tell that there was serious risk of these folks baiting me for an upsell opportunity where they'd want to replace the rollers, drums, cables... of course all adding up to unnecessary fees. One of these even posted local address in north Ballard that doesn't even exist. So I called Anderson Door Company and left a message on Saturday and Dave called me Monday right as they opened. He gave me a guaranteed quote to replace both springs; much less than the rough "averages" than the call center-based services offered, and was out to fix my door within 30 minutes. What was also nice was that Dave was able to work around my old Ford truck restore project, which saved me the need to jockey vehicles out of the driveway. My experience with Anderson was not positive. Estimate was fine. Problems started with the installation and shortly thereafter. The installer showed up missing some accessories that needed to be installed with the new doors. Anderson's Door Co didn't follow up on the what the next steps were to resolve the issue. So I made the trek down to the store to inquire. The employee working at the front desk said they were too busy to come out and do the installation and that I was on my own to get them installed. Anderson Doors replaced our seriously damaged garage door in the early 2000s. They did an excellent job at that time. They are still excellent today. Late last week our garage door failed mechanically. Anderson came to our home the next day and completely repaired the door and checked all the hardware. Wow, Scott from Anderson's Door Co just left and I felt the need to write a review right away since I was so impressed by the great service he provided. Don't always get that these days, so very pleasantly surprised when I do. Couldn't close our garage door this morning and after a very frustrating experience on the phone with Genie customer service (over an hour!) with no luck in getting the door close, I resorted to looking for a repair service in the area. Saw the great reviews for Anderson's Door Co. on Yelp and gave them a call. 45 min later, Scott showed up at my door & immediately got to work. Within 5 min he was able to close the door. Since Anderson's has a minimum 30 min. repair service charge, he spent some extra time just making sure everything else was working properly and lubricated the door mechanisms, etc. Definitely would use them again if needed and will recommend them to friends. read more

The door itself is good quality. Their were problems with the install . The salesman said during all three calls to him , he would be out that day to talk about it. He never showed up and I am unhappy with that . Before the door was installed I rebuilt the jambs, moved the lighting and cabinets to a location the sales man said would work fine. ( Both my Wife and I were there to listen to the new locations.) When the installer showed up, he would not install until I removed two of the brand new cabinets. Also need to move lighting a second time. My frustration with this is very high! The next part is my fault , thought it would come with external key pad. Never asked never told . These guys were amazing. We went out to our garage and pushed the button to raise the door. It started to go up then went back down. Did this again. So I tried to raise the door manually but pulling the red handle did nothing to free up the door. I called Anderson Door Company. This very nice lady answered and said she would try to get someone. She called back in minutes and said that Scott was on his way to West Seattle and was not sure how long a job he had. He would call when he finished. Scott called a couple hours later and was on the way. Very nice guy. He quickly determined that the springs were broken. He had the door fixed in about 40 minutes. We could now get our car out. What a relied. I understand we were fortunate that Scott was in the area. But the quick response was wonderful and greatly appreciated. A gentleman named Dave arranged to get here early in the morning and fixed the door at a very reasonable price. we don't make it easy because my husband just *had* to have an oversized garage door but refused to have a center mounted garage door opener motor so we're stuck with a side-mounted motor that is always overtaxed. that being said, when our garage door opener started getting slow & acting hinky, i called the original installers, Anderson & they sent their guy out very quickly & man, is Scott a baller. I love Anderson Door Company! They've been around forever, which says a lot. I used them six years ago when I bought my house. Every other door company tried to sell me a completely new garage door and opener (I only wanted the opener), stating there was no such thing as an automatic opener for carriage-style doors (my house was built in 1929). Scott was the only person I contacted who knew about the "Batwing Door Opener." Anderson Door promptly installed one for a decent price. It still works today and I get to look extra cool when my neighbors see the "bat cave" opening and closing. ;) It's now 2016 and my BF needed a new garage door system. Scott's quote was the same as his competitor's, except Scott agreed to fix the rotten framing around the garage door. The other company would not touch it. Scott is an old-school breath of fresh air in today's contracting community: a person who does what he says he is going to do, when he says he will do it. He does a good job for a reasonable price. The best part? I did not have to pay him until the work was complete, which made me feel secure. If you are having garage door issues of any kind, I highly recommend giving Scott a call. This place installed a garage door for me thirty years ago. It was Scott's father-i-law who came then and Scott came this time. I had a little bump in the road initially but went out to the showroom and was treated so well the only reason I didn't give five stars was that initial hiccup by an estimator (not Scott) who was having a bad day. My door had a little tricky part to it and several people had left scratching their heads and didn't give me a bid. Not Scott. His installer was a kind Ukrainian guy who I have to say was a craftsman who was in no hurry but did the job once and did it right. I got an insulated door to replace a wooden one and I now wonder why I didn't do it years ago. Thirty years ago I got the cheapest options and now I have one that will no doubt last longer than I will. I have nothing but praise for the service I got. I called to tell them how pleased I was and the owner called to check on how things went. Great job. Call them in the off season, but they are always busy. They didn't try to sell me new doors and were very creative and thoughtful in how to seal my doors without it costing me a mint. They were very professional and thoughtful. My garage door wasn't shutting properly - it would close part way and then reopen. I called Anderson Door, and Scott Anderson was very responsive and fast at coming by, which was great because we were just about to head out for the holidays. Turns out I had a crack in the top of the garage door, so within a few days they had someone out to replace that section for ~$675, and the whole repair took maybe 30 minutes. Fast forward, and the garage door still isn't closing consistently and, as a side note, we had some miscommunication regarding replacing the top section vs the whole door, probably also in part because I don't know anything about garage doors. Since the door still isn't working, I'm hoping I didn't replace the top section without needing to. I called Anderson Door with my concerns and had a conversation with Scott that instantly went defensive and he was quick to explain away without taking time to really listen or be understanding. There was no onus taken on the miscommunication - which I would have been more forgiving if he had not reacted so defensively - and he was short with me for the rest of the conversation. He's having someone come back out to double check a few other things - sensor alignment, etc... I really hope they figure out what the issue is, and I'm really disappointed with how they handled the conversation when I brought my concerns. For Anderson Door, my advice would be that when a customer brings forward an issue, it's best to not take the issue personally, and instead listen and try to understand your customer's needs and empathize (maybe even apologize), and then work to find a solution. For folks looking to use Anderson Door, they were fast/responsive and other reviews would indicate that they do a good job normally. With my experience with them, I would just be wary of the poor customer service when things don't go right. read more
