Unfortunately we had gone with Norseman doors bc of these reviews on yelp and bc they were a whole lot less expensive than costco. I wish we hadn't. This company is so incredibly unreliable and extremely unresponsive. We had hoped after the initial installation we would never have to cross paths with them. At that time bc we were coming out of covid I purposely didn't put a neg review. A few months ago one of our panels broke and so we contacted David @ Norseman doors requesting for his availability to repair it. His responses have been so delayed and despite his initial agreement to come and repair. He has NOT delivered. He even pawned us off to an associate however he, too, has not delivered after an initial affirmation that he would fix the panel. It seems the company's lack of accountability and professionalism is their mantra and mission statement. May this serve as a warning to potential clients. Avoid this company. This is a small update to my review. I accidentally parked my car too far out and when I closed the garage door, it hit my car bumper! Before I could stop it, the fasteners to my garage door were bent and my garage door was inoperable. It was also a safety concern because we have an attached garage so anyone could just walk into our house. I called Dave up to fix it. I was expecting a pretty hefty bill and talk about how it's not his responsibility, etc. Instead, I found my garage door back in the original condition and the fasteners replaced and bolted in the very next day. Well, based on all the positive reviews, it would seem that if you can get them to reply to you, you just might have a good experience. In our case, it's been a year long saga of ineptitude. We ordered new doors for two openings and after installation, the installer noticed one of the panels had a dent in it and immediately offered to replace it. This is where the fun began. After the original install, we had our house painted so we provided Dave with the paint so he could paint the replacement panel before install. He got it installed only to realize his supplier had miscut the window in the panel. He chastised the supplier and promised to return with the correct panel and a discount for the hassle. It has been a year now and after several promises to follow through and the return of our paint after supposedly painting the replacement panel, they have simply stopped replying. We are real estate brokers and have referred Norseman on some jobs. Never again. Believe the positive reviews if you like. They do good work when they show up. But understand that you risk a disappearing act if things don't go well. read more

I've seen other reviews here and I'm not sure we are talking about the same Dave for some of the negative ones. (There is another Norseman Garage Doors, but this one is a lone shark garage door expert named Dave) Dave repaired/replaced one of our two garage door openers about 6 months ago and this time we requested he come back to do the 2nd one which was giving us fits. He quoted a similar price but noted a small markup due to increased travel costs (very reasonable and not inflated like I have seen with other estimates). I proceeded to counter with an additional request (and proposed extra charge) to install some bottom sensors for garage door closure --- as we have an older house but also with relatives who have smaller mobile kids. Dave agreed, but he noted my proposed extra charge was unnecessary --- he'd do it for free because it was a simple tasks and he had some spare sensors around. (Now in this day and age, where do you see something like this? Maybe on the old "Leave it to Beaver" show?) The garage door opener replacement went well but we noticed a couple things after David left. The new garage door was shaking our old support beam during opening/closing. Also we preferred a unit with 2 opener remotes (not one) for which I never discussed with Dave previously. Dave promptly came back the weekend following to add more bolts to the beam to prevent it from shaking during opening/closing and also gave us an additional opener remote. All for Free! (no trip charge either) One other thing I noticed after a short while. He adjusted our previous opener to have a light come on with a sensor when it detected motion. He must have noticed that this was off but had the capability. Now when I carry some groceries/meats to the garage freezer/refrigerator I don't need a third hand to turn on the lights. How cool is this! I recommend David fully. He gives service like the 1950's where a gentleman handshake means you get great service --- and usually a bit more. read more

Because wit was more clean up than any work charged me a smaller fee. So Helpful to know a business is up front and honest about what work you actually need done. SCAM!!! DO NOT TRUST DAVE!!! He is a liar with terrible work. We looked at this company because a friend recommended them. This is not a good company to work with. Dave came down to see what we were looking to have done. Dave told us everything we wanted to hear and what he could do like a sleazy car salesman. So, we decided to go with him and this is where the disaster begins. We asked for a quote, he said he would have it to us the next day. That never happened and a week and half later he texts us and said their company was broken into (lie or excuse). We said we were sorry and understood. A few days after that we still didn't have a quote, when we got ahold of him again he said his wife had surgery (lie or excuse), but we said we understand. Finally after that we got the quote and moved forward. We set a date and time with him and he shows up an hour and half late. Then tells us he's missing the motor to finish the job because it hasn't come in yet, but he will put the new door and tracks on. A few hours in he says he grabbed the wrong doors and needs to go get them. He finally shows back up hours later to finish putting the doors on and we pay him for just the work done. With the doors on he reminds us the motor/tracks won't be in until next week (lie) and we set up a day next week for him to return to finish installing. So, in the meantime the new door is on, but it's louder than the old garage door and it doesn't work properly. The following week comes and goes with no communication. Finally, a few days after the set date we actually get a hold of Dave and he says his wife had surgery, again (lie or excuse). He then sets another date to come "fix" the garage door, he has the motor but now the track for the motor out of stock. He says there is a global shortage (lie). So, the next day and time comes and goes...he no shows. After several hours we get a text from him saying he slept through his alarm (lie). Supposedly two kids and a wife who just had surgery...and he just slept through his alarm? So, we are done with this scam artist. Do not trust Dave, he is a liar and will scam you out of money!!! Find another garage door company, this company SUCKS!!! Hopefully this company goes out of business so no one has to deal with this scam. We found another garage door company that is competent and does quality work. The new company explained to us that the rear torsion that Dave installed had the wrong spring put on and wasn't safe. We had a garage issue with the track, springs, and cable that came up about a month ago and went with another service that we found on Yelp. We thought we were good until our garage broke down a month later for the same exact reasons. Worried that we were going to have to spend thousands of dollars on brand new parts and service, we started searching for options on Yelp. We came across Norseman Door and Dave due to the excellent reviews and now that we've experienced his their service first hand, it's all true and accurate. Dave came out the same day we called with our issue, precise with his arrival time. When he arrived, he reassured us that he wasn't going to start talking prices and money until he got to the bottom of the issue. About 1 hour later, he's finished and let us know that all he needed to do was adjust some of the components (mess made by the previous service we hired) and we were good, for way cheaper than what we were expecting to pay. I messed my garage as it came down while My car was backup into the garage. The door panels were twisted and the support bar was bent. The first garage service guy(wont name them here) comes and says everything is broken, the track, the door panels , the joints and he tried selling me a new door with springs for $2500 and he could get it done next day. I knew based on his description he is trying to pull in a fast one one me. I called a few more companies mostly on phone and pictures to get a quote on new doors. I called Dave from Norseman too. He asked me to send pictures of the damaged panels, the joints and then said he can come next day and take a look if he can fix it and not have a new door. Next day he drives from Lynnwood and in 10 mins says I dont need a new door and he can just fix existing panels and re-inforcements. He comes a couple of days later, does the job in about couple of hour, fixed a few more things with my garage opener, charges me $175(with tax), and I give him $200, as he was so good and easy to talk to. He explained everything and also knew all the details about the uniqueness of my door etc. He saved me almost $2000, and he probably increased the life of my door by another 10 years. Norseman Door has been purchased by Best Garage Door Company in August 2023. I got an estimate for spring replacement ($875) and needed more time to think about it. Stephan closed the wooden garage door very hard, causing panel seal damage and the door rail to jam. A professional garage door would not drop the door, possibly causing damage! When the garage door springs break, your world is put on hold! Time for my wife to drive to work, the car is inside the garage and the door is stuck closed. I drove her to work and yelped garage door repair. Several local options came to the top of my list. But, Norseman Door looked great with all of their 5 star ratings and positive reviews that said what was most important, they delivered as promised and expected. I received an email response that the door guys could be at my house that day and would call 30 minutes in advance which they did. At 2:00 PM they arrived and immediately started the repair, by 2:30 the lifetime guaranteed springs were installed. That is when we learned my 10+ year old garage door opener had self destructed when it tried to open that double door that morning with a broken spring. No problem for the guys from Norseman door. Our garage door broke on a Thursday late afternoon (car was too close compromising one of the door panels and its metal hinge). I called Norseman Friday morning around 9:00 am. Dave picked up the phone almost immediately, promised to come and take a look around noon. He came before 1:00 pm, did the evaluation and committed for a Saturday afternoon fix. Dave arrived on Saturday exactly when he said he would, spent an hour and half for the fix. He applied lubricant to the other garage door and adjusted all the sensors as well. And all of that for a very very reasonable price. It is the best repair company I have ever dealt with! I have had them service the garage door opener, and door, at my house and at a rental property. The price was very competitive every time. Six months after the last service, I thought I something was wrong with my opener and Dave came back for free to check it out, because it was still covered by his service warranty.
