This included established camellias which would have bloomed in December--they can't tell one plant from another. They do nothing for the soil. When they kill plants they just ignore the carcasses or stick in the identical replacement, without any learning. You have to be sure they don't use Round Up (check the science on the dangers of glyphosate exposure). read more

I had Precision completely rebuild my small back yard. They did a wonderful job, but made a mistake with the placement of some concrete footings that I had given them exact specifications for (they are off by 2-4 inches each). The on-site project manager assured me that they would fix it for free for me. When I spoke to Joe he was extremely unprofessional and childish about this and he told me that they already lost money on this job because the crew did extra work, so they wouldn't fix any mistakes for me, despite the previous promises. This company will sell you a solution and then not deliver. My back yard started flooding after Precision did a major grading, irrigation and sod install. After a year, I finally got ahold of a new manager who informed me that no one who did my project was still at the company because he "cleaned house" implying that he didn't think they were doing good work and replaced them. I invited him over to my place to look at the situation and help me come up with a solution for my water problem. I never implied that I expected anything for free. However, he immediately made excuses for all the reasons why grass couldn't grow in my yard. He informed me that my best option was to install astro turf. When I said, that that wouldn't work and that I would obviously need to find another company, he stormed off and said "now I know why they did a poor job and you were not satisfied". I am not a big feedback provider on yelp but I am so angry at the way this company treated me that I can't not say something. DO NOT call these guys. read more

My husband and I hired Precision Landscape Services for a huge yard renovation project. When we started this project, we thought we had an idea of what I wanted, and knew it would be *expensive*. I contacted five companies for bids. When Josh came out, he listened to what we wanted to accomplish and offered alternative suggestions that ended up cutting our project cost by probably 2/3. No one else bothered to give me suggestions or input, and/or ultimately dropped the ball when it came time to send a bid. I was super impressed with Josh's service and follow through. The team of guys that did the work were great! They showed up early every day (said they'd be here by 8:30, would be here by 8), and finished the project on time despite unforeseen issues that probably took hours out of the original projected time-frame. Apparently we had an irrigation system all along (we had no idea), and it was incorrectly installed. These guys corrected the issues and gave us an upgraded system that will leave our new yard/plants looking lush and green with minimal work for us. No more moving the sprinkler around the yard, yay! We hope to be able to bring these guys back for both maintenance on what they've already done, as well as some smaller yard projects around the house as soon as possible. read more

The noise is way over the decibels allowed in the city and the precision is missing in throwing fertilizer and herbicides on neighbors property, sidewalks and storm drains. read more

My neighbor gave me a gift of a year's worth of yard maintenance service from these guys as I am in cancer recovery and she wanted to help me out. I know right? She's an amazing neighbor and a champ. From the first however, Troy was nearly impossible to reach. It took weeks to track him down and in the meantime his crew were sent out as per contract, but since they hadn't even bothered to return my calls, texts, or emails, his crew had no idea what to do. So they proceeded to cut down everything I wanted left alone, and left alone all the things that I wanted done. It was a total farce. I was incensed. So irresponsible of them. After several weeks Troy finally came over so we could formulate a plan. It seemed like he understood what I wanted. But then almost every time the crew were here I had to remind them what to do, what to focus on, and what not to do. It didn't help that new guys were sent out all the time who clearly had not been briefed. The good thing about them is that the crew shows up in rain or shine every week on time. But they aren't precise. I have had to ask them many times to make the edging actually straight, not leave patches of long grass, and to not cut down things I am trying to let flourish. They blow chunks of dirt and dust into my open windows with the leaf blower even though I've asked repeatedly that if they see those windows open they need to rake instead of blow. That should be common sense! What should have been an amazing gift feels like it's been an expensive mistake for my neighbor. She lives out of town and we discussed getting rid of them after I told her what's going on, but of course the contract had to be honored. I'm so glad the contract is finally over this month. We contracted with Precision Landscape to install a sprinkler system and build a stone retaining wall in our front yard. Josh, who managed our project, did an excellent job designing our system and freely shared his extensive knowledge of plants and trees. He was professional but friendly and never failed to make himself available to us (which wasn't often necessary since everyone on his crew knew exactly what they were doing). Though it did not cover a huge area, our system comprised 5 zones and involved weaving feeder lines through a sloped area of long established and valuable plants. Watering our entire front yard is now automatic and if we want to pause or change our watering schedule we don't even have to leave the house. Building a retaining wall out of dry stacked natural stone over sloping terrain and having it finish out tight jointed and level on top is not an easy task but Marco did exactly that. He's a real craftsman. Work on our job started exactly on schedule and continued uninterrupted until it was finished and cleaned up. Beware! We called at least 6 landscapers before settling on Precision. In all other cases we were left uneasy by our first (or 2nd or 3rd) impression. Most even wanted 50% paid in advance! Trust your instincts but make sure any contract you sign meets the State's suggested requirements for landscape contracts. read more

Honeymoon is over! :( My TL;DR or Bottom Line: Monthly Maintenance Quote: $265 Actual Invoiced Amount, Averaged by Month: $755, 185% more than the quote --- My experience with this group is now characterized by highs and lows. I've preserved my original review from this time last year below, originally 5 stars. Given my enthusiasm, I signed up for the monthly maintenance, for a fee of $265 a month - on the high end for my location and size. This fee is augmented by numerous clauses, now seen clearly as accelerators, in their contract, some of which are NOT quantified - instead enumerated under the now onerous sounding "billed on a labor and materials basis". I've listed my actuals over the last 12 months for the reader's benefit. For the 2015 Winter pruning I was charged over $1,000 for the work they did in one day. No agreed upon plan, no estimate, no phone call, no communication. Just an invoice 30 days after the fact that was almost 500% larger than usual. While perhaps in compliance with the letter of the contract, not exactly a fair practice nor smart move from a small business owner. One should keep in mind that this comes on top of $1,700 in late summer cleanup done in 2014, when I first contracted with the group. So, I went back to the agreement and noticed they intend to charge the same for the Summer, and do it three times! Meaning, if I let the contract play out, I would be on the hook for ~$9,000 in total costs, or $755 averaged over 12 months. Keep in mind, this is just routine maintenance of a normal close-in Portland property and does not include tree work - they won't get on a ladder. Insane. Precision responded promptly and set a date to come over. The apt was then delayed a week which was fine. That apt was pushed out again by 2 weeks, which again I was ok with. I think they ASsUMED, I did not have money. They said they had customers who were paying 10, 15, 40 thousand dollars and up and that I should probably look for another company because I could find many who could help me. I was shocked! I was really disappointed in this company. My family and I have a large yard and are not familiar with lawn care or the process that it takes to get what we are looking for. We decided to get bids from more then one company. I waited a week for their bid and to come in but it did not. When I called to check on it they informed me that they decided not to bid on the job. He said that after I told him that I was having 2 other companies come to give information and pricing they did not want to waste time on someone who was looking for the lowest bid. Having our lawn redone is an investment. We were not looking for the lowest bid but the most reasonable bid that accomplished what we needed with the best customer service. Haven't booked with this company and won't after the experience I had on the phone. I was hesitant to call after reading other reviews (I didn't particularly care for the responses The Company made to reviews either). Nonetheless, decided to inquire. I explained to the office that we moved into new construction just over a year ago. The minimal landscaping the builder put in has all but washed away or isn't thriving and we have a lot weeds we routinely pull. When I called talk about options to get a consultation set up, I was directed to the company's website to fill out a form (any reason why the office couldn't take down my information?). I was repeatedly told the company was booked out for 2.5 months (even after I said that was fine). The perception I got was the woman spoke in such a deterring, warning nature - it made me feel like I should be looking elsewhere because they didn't value my potential business. Especially after I was told about all of the overtime being worked to keep up with current demand. I don't typically leave reviews but was shocked at how difficult this company made it to even try to book an appointment. Based on the research I've done, this job would be upwards of $20,000. I will be looking elsewhere for my landscaping needs. read more
