I was given some information & guidance about reaching out to my HOA, which I had not thought of so that was helpful. I was able to pay a portion of the bill until after they completed the replacement. They arrived promptly, actually early, on the agreed upon date and the beam was exchanged within 2 hours. Got a stair railing installed by Charles. This project started out so well...Charles was super…read morefriendly and came out to my home to take measurements and get a good understanding of what exactly we were looking for. He even came back out another time, before installation, to double check measurements and ensure that everything would line up. Thats when things started to go down hill. 1.) The handrail brackets were already welded to the handrail prior to delivering the handrail to my home. It was no surprise that the brackets did not line up with the studs in my wall so they required removal and rewelding. When the brackets were rewelded to the handrail, they were attached so that they are unevenly spaced along the railing. I understand that placement of the brackets is determined on where the studs are, but he could have affixed a fourth faux bracket along the rail, in order to present evenly spaced brackets. 2.) Because he needed to reweld, he needed to repaint the metal. The pieces that were welded in his shop, were painted with matte black, whereas the metal he repainted in my driveway, is high gloss. There is a drastic difference when looking at the railing. Additionally, he clearly rushed the painting, because there is debris in the paint which has left an uneven finish. 3.) Speaking of painting, he straight up spray painted the railing ON my driveway! With nothing underneath! I now have an outline of my railing in black paint on my driveway. 4.) He also got black paint on my stairs AND and walls further displaying his rushed job. The railing itself seems fine, it seems sturdy. But the rough parts of the paint need to be sanded down, the high gloss sections need to be painted with matte paint, and I'll just have to get over the unevenly spaced brackets on the handrail.
