If I could leave zero stars I would. Buyer beware of this company. We had a quartz countertop installed in late 2020 from Precision. Immediately we noticed suction cup marks on the countertops from the installation. The marks wouldn't come out. We told Precision we wouldn't pay the second half until this was fixed. The sales woman yelled at my wife and I demanding payment. Finally when Precision couldn't fix the problem they reinstalled the counter tops. We obviously paid the second half immediately then. Now a year and a half later the seams between the slabs are separating in the counter tops and there is brown discoloration in the seams. It took me 3 emails and threatening a negative review for anyone to respond. Finally Gina responded and scheduled maintenance for 12-2 pm on a certain day. 2:30 came around and no one showed up or called. I emailed to see what was going on and they only then told me it would be 4:00 for maintenance now. Maintenance showed up and essentially told us there was nothing they could do to fix the problem and we're out of luck. They also blamed the problem 4 times on the sun shining on the counter tops, which I responded 4 times it doesn't. Can not express enough how you should avoid this company at all costs. read more

What a great experience! From tbe minute we walked in the door. Hellen was wiping down the samples & counters, mask on when we walked in. The place was very busy but distancing was possible. She greeted us and suggested we register with the front desk to get a salesperson to help us. I asked if she could be our salesperson. She had on a mask but when she greeted us, her eyes showed she was smiing and I just had a good feeling about her. I told her I thought I knew wgat I wanted as I had 2 samples from Home Depot & wanted to see full slabs. She sent us to the warehouse area and said she'd meet us there in a few minutes. Told us where to look for my samples. We were able to go right to them from her directions. OH NO! I didnt like either one. About that time she came around the corner to us. I told her I didnt like them and as we talked about what I did & didnt like she was able to give me some other slabs that she thought Id like. She NAILED IT! I immediately knew which one was perfect! Id been back & forth between samples for a couple of years, never able to decide. Id done my shopping at Home Depot and just never found "IT"! Theres so much more out there than what HD has! I actually had a price worked up at HD but just couldnt finalize it. Hellen said I could think about it, take my time. But I KNEW it was the one, finally. We gave her our square footage, talked about edging, sinks, cutouts and she gave us a rough estimate. $1600 cheaper than HD! And whereas HD said 5wks out, she said she could get us done in 2. HD has to go find someone to actually do the work, the measuring, the cutting the of the stone and the installation are all farmed out to other companies. Precision Stone Design DOES IT ALL! We first walked into PSD on Feb 6th, yesterday was our install! Angel & another young man got to my house at 12:50, unloaded their equipment and there was A LOT, and came in & introduced themselves. They were pleasant, personable & professional. From the mats they put on our hardwood floors, to the dry vac they brought to the care in which they did things "professional" describes them perfectly. There was 44sq ft of quartz in my small kitchen, a sink they had to make adjustments for, and a corner I wasnt 100% happy with that they were able to take care of ON THE SPOT. I would use this company again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend you check them out. Oh! Part of the difference in price was because HD had come up with more sq footage than I actually had! I dont know whether you can see the muted grey & beigey tones in this bright white quartz but its beautiful, subtle & elegant. I love it! We have nothing but good things to say about our experience with this company! We worked with Donna and she was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. When we went to look at stone, she was able to provide information and details about each stone we looked at. For example, we fell in love with a quartzite, but due to the color and porous nature of the particular slab that we liked, with young children, she advised against it in a kitchen. We were very happy to have a honest, helpful person. We ultimately chose granite. Sunny did the vein matching and was spot on. You can barely see the seam! The install was done quickly and cleanly. The only issue we had was the stone we originally tagged was still on the sales floor without our tag. Luckily, I took pictures of the skew numbers the day we chose our stone and Donna and Sunny had the slab pulled for us. The overall process of picking and ordering my granite counter top was easy. However, my negative feedback is due to the installation portion for the following reasons: 1. The backsplashs were not installed flushed to the wall. There was 1/2in gaps behind the backsplash that would look terrible had I not install a tile backsplash on top. 2. Installers scratched up my walls and torn the drywall up around the installation area. 3. Lastly, a installer scratched my pantry door during installation. When I called the office to discuss who would come up and do the repair work to all the damages around the kitchen area, they never followed up to set up an date to fix this. read more

The company I bought a kitchen from used Precision Stone to supply and fit my Silestone quartz worktop. Precision Stone cut the hole for the hob too big. They also did not cut rebates into the quartz for the sinks overflow fittings. They did put both problems right but the time the plumber spent waiting cost me an extra £50. I paid the plumber the extra £50 for the extra time he spent waiting to fit my sink as it was the right thing to do. I tried to get my £50 back from Precision Stone as I think being out of pocket because of their bad templating is unfair. I e-mailed Precision Stone and telephoned twice and have been ignored. Therefore I am giving two stars which feel is fair. The end result was good but bad templating of the stone could have consequences, like your electrician or plumber not being able to finish their job. This could ultimately cost you more money. Be aware of this when buying from "not so" Precision Stone. read more

My experience was terrible from the start with Doratea didnt ask witch sinks we wanted or if we wanted to upgrade. When things started to go wrong with the installation Doratea passed us over to Dearius and at first he seemed helpful,but things kept going wrong. Some of the granite pieces were Not polished and they had to send someone to repair and or polish.The repair was terrible you can see all the spots that were repolished. We ordered 3 kitchen counters & 3 bathrooms in total 96sq feet of the same granite. The installers broke the master bedroom granite double sink and made holes in my walls removing the old piece and installing the new piece and we had to go and find another piece so disappointed not the same. This all started in the beging of septemper until now they promised to pay for repair of my walls and I have not heard from them. I'm very Disapointed I would not recommend them. read more

During our last visit to their facility to finalize our choice of stone for our 3 countertops, I told Sunny that I'd like to have the material left over from where the sink cutouts were. This totaled 3 square feet of granite or $162 at $54 per square foot. Sunny said "no problem" and asked if we'd like the material to be make into cutting boards. We said yes. We were told this would be delivered with our countertops. The installers showed up with the countertops but no cutting board. They also did not have my sink with them that they had previously picked up to use as a template. They left in the middle of the installation to drive the 21 miles each way back to their shop to get my sink. This added about an additional 75 minutes to their install. The installers knew nothing about the cutting boards. I called Sunny right away. He apologized and told me he'd have two cutting boards fabricated and he'd drop them off. Several weeks went by and no cutting boards and no word from Sunny. Two phone calls and three emails over the past 4 months have now gone unanswered. The countertops are very nice and the overall workmanship was good but not receiving the $162 in materials that I paid for and owned was very disappointing. read more

I've literally just signed up for Yelp so I can write a review about Precision Stone. Stay away from this business -- the quality and customer service just aren't there. Disappointment #1: The first time they came to install my granite countertops, they said that my sink wouldn't fit and I needed a new sink. If this was the case, why didn't the gentleman who initially came to measure my kitchen inform me of this? Disappointment #2: Finally we found a way to make the sink fit, but afterwards they told me I needed to nail in a piece of wood under my counter to support the sink's weight. Again, if this was necessary the installers should've done it -- not required me to run out to Lowes, cut it, and install it myself. They're the installers, and should be ready to install in most kitchen situations. Disappointment #3: Because the installers came late, the plumber could not come until the next morning, meaning we were out of water for the evening. Not a big deal, but the appointments should be back-to-back. Disppointment #4: Lo and behold, after a laborious 4 hour installation and doing everything they told me to do, the next morning the counter had cracked CLEAN IN TWO. When we called and let them know, I will say that they came out within a couple of days to fix it. . Disppointment #5: It has been less than a month and my sink is leaking. Water is trickling out. I just called and Tracy was rude and impatient. She said my pipes probably cracked due to the cold. It's an internal pipe, and it's not cracked, it's loose. She said she couldn't do anything, the plumber needs at least two days notice. She obviously didn't want to deal with me because she told me "Sunny" would call me back tomorrow. I was shocked and found her defensive tone offputting. Disappointment #6: They rounded the corners unevenly. One corner is sharper, one is rounded -- they don't match. Bottom line: I'm disappointed with this company. Honestly, based on my experience go elsewhere; I wish I had. Their prices were just okay, and I'm betting you'd get better customer service and installation services elsewhere. read more

I'm on the fence about our experience with PSD. My in-laws sent us to them for the granite in our kitchen. We visited and found a piece we really liked. When we were ready I went back to the Elk Grove location to pay the deposit and setup our measurements. They were very accommodating to our schedule (we were going on vacation and it was around Thanksgiving) and got our measurements done and scheduled the install. When the guy came to measure I made a point to tell him about the apron sink we were using and the notches we would need in the counter top for the sink. He knew exactly what sink we were using and checked it out and noted the notches. Install day: the guys came to install it and it went pretty fast, they were there for about 10 minutes. First, they did not center the granite on one wall of cabinets before they glued it down. Thankfully I noticed before they left and it dried. Then I asked them to put the sink in place and of course, it didn't fit because they did not cut the notches for the sink. The installers blamed the bar my husband had put on the front of the cabinet but that was not the issue. They also did not caulk a giant gap that was left between the granite and the wall. And to top it all off, they did not cut the 1/2 in bevel edge that I requested. After they left I was frustrated. So I had to stay home another day from work so they could come and fix these issues. The guy who came to fix the issues was much nicer than the original guys who came to install. He understood what I needed and also caulked the gap next to the wall. The sink finally fits and now the counter tops look great. read more

I'm surprised to be the first reviewer! We were thrilled with this company. They came recommended by a couple of my parent's friends, but I have to be honest, I had some reservations simply because of their ultra-low bid compared to the other granite contractors we bid out. However, everything from slab selection to on-site measurement/templates to installation literally went off without a hitch, and we LOVE our new countertops. We had a huge island replaced (which included a large rounded section -- I was a little worried that the new counter wouldn't match the shape, but it did) as well as our normal against-the-wall counters, and they all really look great. I was very happy with my granite counter experience at Precision Stone. Before I even came in, Daniel was responsive in getting me an online estimate. They answered my questions in a timely fashion (which was huge considering the whole process can be very time consuming). They had the best prices I found on various varieties of granite, and because they have the stone on site and finish it themselves, it meant a lot less running around. If you are in the city, I would recommend the drive out here, as their price was almost $1k less for the same granite. The installation was very successful and professional. Turn around time after measurement was also quick (about 5 days or so). All in all, it was an exceptional experience. They also run specials on various varieties, and will even throw in a sink depending on the amount of square feet you're ordering. read more

We have used Precision Stone for multiple projects. For our first few projects, we had no issues, though those were very small and straightforward. I would have given them probably 4 stars for those projects. This last time we worked with them was awful and they really caused us additional issues to our kitchen project. First off, Hellen was our salesperson and she really is that- a SALES person. She talks nonstop and gives the feel of a used car salesman. Between measurement and install they caused issues in our kitchen that cost us nearly $1000 with to resolve those issues. Their communication during that process was nonexistent - they did not give feedback that our sink would need additional workarounds, they did not tell us that they would be cutting up our cabinets without us knowing, they did not tell us that they would be installing this to the point that it would interfere with our plumbing. Yes, I understand that their goal is to sell stone and they do have great prices, but it felt like as soon as they got their money their customer service went down the drain. At first it seemed like they were open to helping resolve the issue but in the end they stopped communicating with us. The 'main installer' came to our home to review what was installed, and he had a smirk on his face the whole time and pretty much told me I was SOL. He was downright rude and was not the least bit helpful. We will not work with these guys again. You get what you pay for! They have some lovely stone, but I don't think they actually want you to buy it. The customer service is absolutely awful. We were promised a call back on the availability of a slab we picked within a few days. After 3 weeks of calls without returns, we were finally able to confirm it's availability and place a deposit. We scheduled an appointment for measurement and no one showed up. Not only didn't they show up, they didn't even call to tell us they weren't coming. I haven't seen their actual work yet, but if this is any indication of their performance, I think we need to find a new stone. read more

He is very knowledgeable about countertops, floors, and sinks. His sense of style and ease of manner only added to the professional support that I got in dealing with him and his company. Like anyone in the middle of a remodel I had moments when I panicked, he always got back to me quickly and was able to provide information that calmed my nerves. Very happy with our granite countertops! Overall we had a good experience with Precision Stone and would do business with them again. After researching several companies, Precision Stone was the best deal AND they were recommended from a family member. Both the measurer and the installers were prompt (even early) and professional. Jaci was our salesperson and she was attentive and helpful. They work with many different granite suppliers and you can visit those showrooms to select your granite, if Precision does not have your particular granite on site. Why I didn't give 5 stars: Their showroom is VERY small. If you have 3 customers in the place, it's packed! They really don't have much in the way of inspiration, other than a few display counters and an ongoing slide show on a TV monitor. If you want to pay with a credit card, they will charge you 3% more. I know a lot of places are doing this now but you should be aware. Their website is outdated! We saw two different styles of granite that we thought were a reasonable price, when we asked about them we were told the pricing on the website was wrong. At one point, I clicked on a link for current specials and a PDF from 2011 loaded...I do see that that has been changed. Things to keep in mind: If you going to a deeper under-mount sink, your pipes may need to be lowered to accommodate a garbage disposal. Precision Stone will not tell you that. My husband researched online and found many people had to have this done. You may not need to do this, but it might be worth it to hire a plumber to come in and advise you. read more

We completed two projects with this company. The first project went alittle askew but they fixed the issue and the kitchen turned out very nice at a good price. The second kitchen that we completed with them turned out very nice. The install crew was very nice and even waited while i picked up a different kitchen faucet to better fit the upgraded sink we optioned. The counter top (monte carlo I believe) was stunning. Verdict- We plan on going with this company again in the future. One note though- If you go with them double check your invoices and the planned work. I have NEVER written a review on Yelp before. That is how irritated and utterly disappointed I am with this company. Is it even possible to go lower than 1 star? If so, THAT'S what this company should be rated. Let me start by saying that the experience started off well. The salesperson (I will not mention her name because I think she had very little to do with this) was very intelligent. She sold me on the product and was very knowledgeable. That's where the good things, if any, ended. To make a long story longer, I had driven AN HOUR to see the Quartzite that they were offering. We agreed on a price, time of delivery, and I booked the elevator for my building. Keep in mind, I also cancelled the other fabricator that was to win this job, just to give the business to Precision. After giving a credit card for their RIDICULOUS 75% down payment (people really ask for more than 50%?) I get a phone call that not only has the price gone up, BUT BY ALMOST $1,000! Come on, now. They measured my unit, gave me a price, made me book an elevator, and cancel a fabricator who SHOULD have won this job (job is close to $7k.) Horrible way to run a business, I am shocked that more customers don't post things on this place. Do yourself a very simple favor, people: Stay AWAY. I wish I did. read more

I have mixed feeling about this company. I was pleased with the products and service I received on my first visit to the store in Schaumburg. It is small in comparison to some other companies but the price definitely reflected that. After choosing my granite, I set up an appointment for measurement. I asked if a deposit was needed and was told no. This wasn't exactly true as they don't schedule an appointment to put the granite in until after they have their money. I was told they would install on Saturday or Monday and then didn't get an appointment until Tuesday. Now for the measuring... The man who came did not create a template of my counter-tops. Apparently he felt the counters were basic enough measurements. This meant, when they arrived to install they had to make two rather major cuts to fit the counters in. Luckily my contractor was here at the time to assist in measuring and making sure things were done correctly. If he hadn't been, I question that they would have come out properly. The actual appointment I had for installation was to be from 4-6 pm. They didn't show until after 8pm. I don't blame the installation crew but rather the company for poor scheduling. I was frustrated to have a crew here so late sawing, drilling, etc in a condo building where loud noise is not aloud after 7:00pm. All in all, the granite appears to be a fairly good product but there are far better companies out there when it comes to service. I've noticed now over time that the sealing of the granite seems to be poor as well. I'm hoping after I reseal it myself, I won't have anymore problems. I guess you really do get what you pay for! read more
