My daughter took car in two weeks ago for a diagnostic on her rear main seal told her that it was her seal and also her torque converter would be a 8 hour job and charged her 1000+ dollars to fix so far it has been 14 total days in the shop and nothing but dumb reasoning on to why she hasn't gotten it back. First it was the seal wasn't properly put on so they had to replace it, Then they said they got another seal and we about to put it on which of course they are now saying it wasn't put on properly or wasn't the right seal for the car (which isn't their job to make sure of such thing) so my daughter hasn't had a car to get to and from work for weeks and they can't even give her a time frame on when the car is going to be finished and every time she gives them a call to see what's going on they are vague and misleading saying they are going to call back with an update she hasn't yet received ONE call back. I went yesterday and got my oil changed at around 5 o'clock and they got got done in 10 to 15 minutes and I was watching them the entire time and did not see them open my hood one time. When I arrived there, my car needed power steering fluid however, the oil change included top off of all under hood fluids so I was going to let them fill it. However, my power steering fluid was not filled at all, so makes me question what else they didn't do. I checked my power steering reservoir and they didn't put anything more than what was in there. I gave the two stars because they was quick, but really makes me question because they didn't even put power steering fluid. read more

So I take my car in for what I knew to be a pulley being loose. Btw they have a new manager Brent- they look at it and tell me the water pump is bad- no problem- so I ask how much to replace it? $1000!!! I told them hell no!! So I ask for a break down- labor $400 part $100 recommended to change idle tensioner and antifreeze- part for that $350- so that leaves $150 to change antifreeze !! I told them no thanks and I'll pick my car up!! Got it fixed for $300 that's everything except tensioner which it didn't need!! This place has become a rip off since Matt (the old manager) left!! I will never take my car back there even for an oil change!! Also I will tell others about my experience as well!! Brent gives mechanics a bad name by trying to sell things to that customers don't need and over charging them for it!! read more

I am new to the area I needed an inspection and oil change. So I did a Yelp search (LOVE THE YELP APP) it listed this company. I called to see if I needed an appointment - no I didn't. The front desk manager that answered the phone was very friendly, courteous & seemed very knowledgeable; thanks "J" I stopped on my way for a bite to eat. Once I arrived there were a couple of customers ahead of me...no worries! I was warmly greeted, checked in by Jay. He also noticed I had lunch, and he quickly sprung into action by providing me with a small portable table to place my lunch on. That way I could enjoy it during my short wait. if i could give zero stars i would. went to get an oil change and they ended up putting a huge dent in my radiator and crushing my AC compressor. went back up to the store the next day when i realized what was wrong and they told me that they didn't do it even though i had the receipt that said they did. called corporate and they told me "sorry that's unfortunate". absolutely ridiculous, i now have several thousand dollars of damage done to my car and they cant even own up and says its their fault. read more

I had brought my car here a couple of times for oil changes and had no issues- Nice guys. So I took a chance and followed their recommendation to have a wheel bearing replaced on a Honda Accord. After several months, I still don't have the strength to type all of what transpired in this ordeal. To sum it up: The mechanics were completely incompetent to perform this job, the regional manager (V.C.) literally came from behind the counter and postured for a physical confrontation with me as I was politely trying to figure out why my car was no different after receiving it back after waiting for days, on one of my visits I watched no mechanics even pick up a wrench for over an hour mid-late morning but instead were texting and playing on phones, I filed a complaint at the corporate office and received no correspondence, I took my car to a Honda dealership in another area and they immediately called me back with pictures of all of the work that had never been done by Precision Tune as claimed .... Original parts... They were able to complete the job in less than 2 hours, correctly. This place is a News 2 feature/lawsuit waiting to happen. I will walk before I set foot at this place again. They bait & switched me on the price, charged me $4 for the 1/2 qt of 'extra' oil they said my car need, an extra $10 for the 'special' filter they said my car needed and then... there was gum on my carpet and doorsill! When I called back to complain the asst. mgr. Steve told me that they could not have done that. I told him I saw the tech get out of my car after parking it w/no paper mat in his hand & that there was none in the car & he told me that was impossible! What? No apologies, no it's terrible that happened? Just 'nobody here chews gum' and 'we put a paper mat in every car' over and over. This is a neighborhood business employing neighborhood folks trying to make a living. Do not expect to bring your vehicle in and be finished in 15 minutes or less, quality work will take time and there just may be other customers/vehicles ahead of you. Like usual had a great experience with the boys at precision Tune Auto Care. Matt and his boy did a superior job. On Both state inspection and a premium Oil Change. I had very little wait time. The place got pretty busy while I was there. But both Matt and assistant gave all the came a estimated time of there work being done. As we waited he checked in the lobby and gave updated to people waiting. Also they organized everything so they would have a no problems for on coming customers. My son is a student at Elon University and took his car to Precision when it began to experience some problems. I was more than shocked, and a bit suspicious when I was informed that his car needed a new engine! My local mechanic was kind enough to contact Precision and speak to Matt to better understand the underlying problem. His confirmation of the diagnosis and the integrity of the shop provided me with a great deal of confidence. Matt was terrific to work with throughout the process. He was patient with us while we searched for a replacement engine and he offered consultation on several engine options. Took my car here for an oil change and refused to get new rotors for the ridiculous pricing offered and about a month later had to take my car into another shop because my engine light came on and car was acting funny. I had no oil leak, but barely had any oil in my car at all and almost blew the engine and am actually still having issues. I should've listened to another friend of mine who had a similar experience here, but they "forgot" to put a part back on her car.. lol. I gave them a chance, they almost blew my engine. My family and I were traveling home after a Memorial Day trip to Charlotte. Tire pressure sensor came on and when I tried to put air in the tire, the stem broke. After putting on the spare I took the tire to Precision Tune. I dealt with Zach Thompson. He was very polite and knowledgeable. They took the car back immediately and had it repaired in 20 minutes. The price was imminently reasonable. As a side note - I initially went to Merchants Tire And Auto where I was told it would be a 2-3 hour wait. When I hesitated, he said they were the only tire store open on Memorial Day - NOT TRUE. read more

Do not recommend this place at all. I go in for an oil change and tire rotation. I wait over an hour they come back and I was told I need new breaks and rotors. Then another hour come backs and say they don't have them in but will fix rotors. After I was all finished my car made weird noises and popped when I turned left. Had to take it in to the dealership to get fixed. Dealership said I didn't need new breaks and that my rotors were messed up. Long story short I had to pay to have my car fixed after going there. If you want to pay for things twice go here if not stay away. I will never go here again and I will tell everyone what they did to my car. read more

I had a really bad experience with Precision Tune Auto Care. I should have really thought about this but was in a hurry and needed some rear brakes put on my 2005 Audi A8. Instead of waiting a few days to get into the dealer I went with my local neighborhood mechanic shop as I had planned on driving across the country the next day. I came into the shop around 10am and didn't leave until 5pm that evening. In a nut shell the mechanics completely jacked up my car and had no clue as to what they were doing. The reasoning as to why it took so long was because they messed up the rear caliper trying to put my rear pads back on the vehicle. They continued to try and diagnose the problem and finally came out and told me they had to call in their GM but he wouldn't be able to look at the car until the next morning. I gave the benefit of the doubt and agreed. The next morning I got a call that everything was all good and the car was good to go. I came in got the keys and started up the car. I checked everything out with the brakes and so far things seemed to be working correctly.....until I tried to put on the emergency brake. Warning indicators began to come on everywhere. I went back into the shop to inform the manager about what happened and he wanted to look at the car again. He came back out shortly after wards to let me that the car needed a software update and that was the reason for the error. I was hardly convinced but knew that this was an option so I took their word for it and headed off. I wasn't five minutes away from the shop when a caliber cover on my front brakes came flying off the car! I knew then there was a problem so I took the car to Audi to have them verify this "software update." They called me and told me that was not the problem and there was some serious issues going on because of the service that had been performed. I called up Precision Tune's customer service and informed them of the issue. I will say this is where things begin to get 100% better. Ronnie from customer service was very helpful and took care of everything. They paid for the damages which costs of $1k and also for the hotel room my family and I had to stay in due to the delay of our trip across the country. Although a very bad experience with this business in the end the customer service did the right thing and took care of the damages. I would not recommend this business to anyone until they upgrade their mechanics knowledge on foreign cars. read more

The day before my car been to my regular mechanic for an oil change and checkup - no problems found. So I took my car back to my mechanic who tightened a nut and fixed the longstanding "problem". They flat out lie. We called early Saturday and they said they could fit us in to look at a wobble on my car and my hand brake They called me after a hour and said it needed $800 worth of work and they would have it done before the end of the day. We had to stay downtown all day due to this since we live a distance away. AT 1pm it was outside so we checked in. Waiting on a part. They called at 4:30 stating it needed half hour more work ad they wouldn't complete it, and it was only the brake left to do. We went in to collect it thinking we could get the brake done anywhere and found out they had not done anything on it at all. Now we have been in town for 7 hours, and have no car. They guarantee it will be done y 11am today. At 2pm they finally call. When my partner goes in to collect it we find they havn't actually fixed the brake at all, just tightened it, and that it really did not take as long as they said. After questioning them and their story changing he accused them of lying and that he was not going to pay the full price. At this point the manager became very aggressive and at 6ft 4 was rather intimidating. My hubby did not back down so the manager stomped out and left it to the mechanic to check us out. At this point they did give a $400 discount. So if you want to be lied to and have shoddy service his is your place. I was in your Burlington, NC location at South Church Street on October 21st, 2019. I am writing a review to note the professionalism of the manager, Brent. I visited your location that morning and your entire staff was fast, efficient, and courteous. However, I was unable to locate my vehicle's wheel lock key. Therefore, some of the inspections I wanted performed had to wait. The team at your store was professional and prompt in changing my oil and notifying me of the missing key for the wheels. Later in the day, I returned to your location once I has found said wheel lock. While I was there I witnessed an event that made me sure that I would return to your business for my car care needs. Brent, the manager in the office, was faced with a very difficult and frankly beligerent customer. However, he kept his composure and handled this disgruntled individual with kindness, even though she was being unreasonable and rude to both Brent and others. He managed the situation with the expertise of a trained professional, de-escalating the situation as he promptly and efficiently handled her concerns. When this unreasonable customer had left the store, Brent followed up with each individual in-store ensuring not only our satisfaction but also our well being as people. These guys are rip off artists, they LIE and cheat people out of their money. I went to get a front end alignment because my steering wheel was shaking. Well after giving them 70 bucks, it was still shaking, even worse. They admitted that they did not rotate the tires and I don't even think they put it up in the air. When I came back to complain or get a refund or a coupon off the manager was like oh sorry there is nothing I can do. They used to change my oil on 2 vehicles, but I will never go back there again, the customer service SUCKS!! #jerks read more

Realizing I needed an oil change, I brought it to Precision the next day and was told by "M" on the "Estimate / Work Order" sheet stapled to the bill, that the brake fluid was dirty (he actually wrote this). Funny that I had a brake service the previous day and upon inspecting the fluid, it was quite clear and new! Lesson learned .. I just wonder if the oil changes with Synthetic Oil I had requested over time, and paid for, were what was really done. I stopped by a few days later and asked to speak to the owner or manager and was told they were at lunch ... left my name and phone# asking for a call, which never happened .... Avoid this place. Took my husbands car in to get oil changed and brakes checked. Was called back about 2 hours later saying the front brakes and rotors need to be replaced. They would not break the cost down just kept dancing around my questions on the cost, because noting was adding up. Felt like I was being talked down too. So I told them I did not appreciate the tone they were taking when I was asking about price. I go to pick car up and the oil change light was still on and am not sure they fully changed the oil, because the oil was darker than I would expect. Took my 09 maxima here for an oil change they told me I needed $600+ of stuff replaced and repaired so I took my car to nissan to verify if any of this was true. And guess what?? Nothing they said needed repairs or replaced had a thing wrong with it! Wow can u believe that they tried to get one over on me. Folks stay away bc they can't be trusted. I also went one time about an hour before closing for an oil change they were literally done in 10 minutes I don't know how, so when I got home I looked under the hood and checked the oil it looked as if they had just poured more oil in it was almost overflowing and there was oil spilled all down in the engine so the air blowing in my car smelled like oil for about 2 weeks. My husband took his Chrysler 300 to have the oil changed. The wrong oil filter was placed on the vehicle, my husband drove it for a while and it appeared to be fine, then the oil light came on. He checked the oil and found that there was no oil in the car. We then put oil in the car, checked the level and started it. All of the oil was blown out of the car onto the parking lot. We then had the car towed to our mechanic. That is when we found out that the wrong oil filter had been placed on the car. We were shown the difference between the oil filter that was on the car and the one that should have been placed on the car....WOW...not even sure how that mistake was made or how they even got it to stay in the car it was much smaller. The car appeared to run OK, we contacted Precision and after a month or so of trying to get someone to respond to our emails and phone calls they offered to refund the money that my husband paid them for the oil change, but refused to reimburse us for having the car towed to the mechanic or for the new bill at our mechanic. Sounds like somewhere you want to take you car, right? Well it gets better. A few months ago the engine started knocking (which our mechanic said that it may never knock from running without oil and it could start years down the road). We parked the car for a while (because we didn't think that Precision would ever own up to their mistake and fix it), then finally decided to attempt to get Precision to own up to their mistake. We, again, paid to have the car towed, this time to Precision because they said that they would look at the car and see if it was their mistake that caused the knocking. SURPRISE! They said that it was not because the engine was ran without oil, it was that the engine over heated. They are refusing to take care of their mistake. The car has NEVER overheated and if it did , it would have been due to the fact that the engine was ran without oil (due to the wrong oil filter being placed on the vehicle and the oil running out). I know that Precision Tune Auto Care is not going to take care of their mistake and that this post is not going to benefit me or my husband in anyway. I am writing this to make others aware that the people that they have working on your vehicles may or may not know what they are doing, and if something goes wrong they will not own up to their mistakes and make them right. read more
