Came in for a simple oil change for my Toyota Camry and within 10 minutes after leaving my engine completely died, after being stuck in the middle of an intersection for a while causing traffic it finally cranked back up and i immediately made a u turn back to this shop to have it inspected as to why since that has never happened before, after being told that diagnostic would cost me $40 I go through and was told that there was less than 1/4 oil in my car and that was due to the oil pan plug seal being damaged because the the plug was over tightened too hard causing all that fresh oil to almost completely all leak out. Then I was told it would be 400+ dollars ON TOP of labor BY THE SAME GUY THAT HAD JUST DID MY OIL CHANGE 30 MINUTES AGO TO BEGIN WITH??? After going back and fourth for a while it was clear that he wasn't budging and there was nothing he would do for me unless I payed that outrageous repair bill for the repair and stated I STILL had to pay for the $40 inspection even tho it was that same exact guy who did my oil change and broke my car rendering it undrivable for the time being! He said the most he could do was refund me for the oil change but that didn't help at all because I was left stranded and way worse then before I ever came in. At the end of the day I had to tow the car home out of pocket and any oil I topped off into it myself would all just leak out leaving me without a car for weeks. Worst experience ever they will break your car and not take any accountability and charge you hundreds to repair their own mistake ! I ended up paying a local shop $80 to fix what they broke theirself and tried to charge me 400+ to fix. SMH read more

They scratched my car and also did not put the cap back on the oil resevoir and when I pointed this out BEFORE leaving they said tough luck. How can I show them the missing oil cap and they say not their fault? read more

Got hooked by the cheap alignment groupon deal.. brought car in after replacing front struts and completely checking front end. 15 minutes after drop off I get a call demanding 400 dollars to repair a bad ball joint. I decline. pick up the car (wasting money on the groupon since it was burn the groupon or give them 20 bucks for the "inspection" and go through this again) and brought it directly to another shop who checked the front end and ALIGNED THE CAR! I did not tell them what this shop had said until after service was complete. they said and I quote "the part they claim was bad was in fact in perfect condition." this leads to me to believe they are either using the groupon deal to get people in so they can take advantage of them (well I know they are, I ended up with 2 wiper blades for 38 bucks) or their staff is incompetent or lying. read more

This was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had since moving back to Minnesota. I don't know the guy's name who works the front desk (older gentleman, he might be the owner) but he is hands down the most courteous, respectful, and empathetic person I have come across in an auto repair shop. I just needed a simple oil change and had purchased a Groupon ahead of time. When I arrived, the place was packed (and I understand why now, can't imagine there's a better place to take ones vehicle). 1 lady had been told her Cadillac would require $500 in repairs for a leak, and another woman in complaining that her brake light was one (but I think she meant the check engine light). He offered people rides home, assured the brake light lady she was going to be taken care of and never flinched when nobody could open the door handle to the lobby, despite the fact he demonstrated on 2 occasions while I was there how it's done. My oil change also required that I replace the air filter. I realized halfway to the shop my wallet was on my kitchen counter but chose not to turn around because the Groupon was on my phone. After learning I needed the $20 air filter, I regretted that decision but knew I would go get it changed later that day. The man at the desk simply said...if I replace it can I trust you to come back and pay for the filter? It was there that I decided this will be my new go to place. I actually knew my debit card off the top of my head but didn't trust trying to blurt out the numbers so I didn't offer it when I first arrived. Once the guy said can I trust you, I trusted this place completely and just blurted out my numbers and keyed them in. If he'd asked for my first born son I'd probably have given him that too. Check this place out. It was worth every dollar and this guy has nailed the customer service game. read more

I have no clue why this place has a low rating. The service has always been OUTSTANDING. I relocated from the mid south and have been bringing my two vehicles here for regular servicing. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. They do not mislead you in any way and are very honest and direct. read more

march 13, 2015 hire again: yes description of work: provider inspected work done at another shop. member comments: i had some brake work done at another repair shop. i didn't feel safe driving my car because after said repair my break pedal seemed to go further to the floor than normal. precision tune took me in at 5:30, 1/2 hour before closing to look into my concern. they inspected my car and reported the following: technician performed clean and adjust on front brakes at no charge to customer. previous repair facility failed to properly clean caliper brackets - almost 1/16 of corrosion/shaling was removed in order to expose clean metal and free up brake pads. technician bled rear brake system. previous repair facility failed to bleed rear proportioning valve, resulting in air in brake hydraulic system. brakes now operate as intended. center manager recommends customer visit repair facility where rear brake line was installed, as it is not properly secured to frame, and could possibly rub, causing brake line to possibly weaken and/or brake under hydraulic brake assist in the future. the 2 technicians that assisted me that day were very accomidating, informative and sympathetic for the issues caused by the other shop. can't thank them enough! read more

Groupon voucher users ""BEAWARE"". If you purchased a voucher from Groupon to do 4 wheel alignment for this place, NOT only they will waste your time but they will redeem your voucher at the scene (Hmmm very suspicious!!!!) without even looking at your vehicle. Once they redeem your coupon they will start giving you BS scenarios that they may not be able to do the alignment due to defect moving parts -if they find any, (lm very much sure they will, because it happened to me). And they will come up with excuses not to do the alignment. They are Scammers and Thieves. Stay away from that place. Dont get fooled by 5 stars reviews they probably came from a family and friends. I let Groupon know what happened to me and they were surprised as to why the business redeemed the coupon before starting the job. They should not redeemed it at the first place and REALLY they should have tell their stories/proclaims on the phone at the time they re setting up the appointment with you. They didn't because no one will ever cone and waste their time and coupon to go in with that piece of information. They decided NOT to and hope someone will fall on their traps to do additional work and pay more than what you came in for. Prcision Tune Don't accept Groupon vouchers if your not willing to do any work. Be honest about it and let customers know what they are in for before you re wasting their precious time. I couldn't be happier with the service I got today. I was told last summer, when my a/c kept turning on and off--off usually being the hottest and most humid times. They ran a couple of tests and determined the compressor wasn't turning on, despite power going to it. But it was the end of August so we agreed I'd return in May. Alas, the two owners retired. So I found Precision Tune Auto Care at 4401 Central Ave NE because it was highly rated on Yelp and others wrote glowing reports, and because it's just two miles from home. Imagine my surprise and delight when they found practically no freon in the system. They filled that, did the requested oil change and tire rotation and I got out of there for much less than expected. I commented, "You could have installed a new compressor and charged me much more." He shook his head and said no. I like that kind of integrity. I'll be using them for all my servicing for the foreseeable future. read more

Super pissed. Well, Im controlled but it irked me some. I called, spoke to the dude, said 11AM. I get there, he said it was at 10AM. I said no, I am not off work until 10a. He proceeded to say he would have to do next TUES, a week later. Um, no. Thats like ordering a steak, server brings out soup, you said you ordered steak, then they say " Well, I can bring you out a grilled cheese." Now grilled cheese is dope, but I didnt ask for that. So anyway, I went there one time before, enjoyed the service, now, will never return even if free oil changes for life. Its the principal of the matter. No apology, no courtesy, nothing. Lame. My time is important and that was in between my split shift. Major pain in my ass and screwed up my day thorough like. This is my review. I have never quite understood why business owners run coupons then treat you horrible for using them. I bought a Groupon. I called to make sure my car was not one they charged extra for. They said no. Then I bought the Groupon. I get there. They charge me $30 extra. I paid more then their regular price for the oil change. I paid $15 more than my VW dealership charges. I am from Chicago and went here because an electrical part in my car burned out and wouldn't let my headlights go off. It was the multi-switch. This guy charged me $40 to check out the problem. Afterwards, he said it was the multi-switch AND the daytime running lights relay that burned out and gave me a price tag of $750+. I went to Madina Auto Repair in a different part of town based off a recommendation from someone at my office, and the guy fixed it PERFECTLY for $250+tax. He also told me that the relay was not burned out, and it was only the multi-switch. And he was able to tell me the real problem by just looking at the wiring diagram when I called him, before I even went there. Summary: Precision Tune Auto Care is a bunch of cheaters who are looking to rip you off. Do not give them your business. read more

I've been to Precision Auto Tune once, at the Columbia Heights location, but my experience was very pleasant. The manager was conversational and friendly and provided useful and helpful information regarding my oil change. There was a mistake during the transaction, but Bill remained apologetic and polite. He ended the situation with surprising courtesy and generosity. I will go back there if only because of Bill's honesty and transparency and generosity. read more

I took my car in for an alignment. They did nothing. They say they did, but still having the exact same pull. They didn't offer to do it right over, correctly, and apologize in any way. Next call is to corporate and Better Business Bureau. They'll gladly take your money and do nothing, not even a refund. read more

This place does not deserve not 1 star but I had to in order to warn you all...This is not a good place to take your car if you want total honesty about what is wrong with your vehicle. I was ripped off they told me they could fix my tire rods and they did. I took it back the next day and was given the run around for a week. Took it back to them the following week as we both agreed and left it over night and I was called the next day to come in and I was then told " Do not drive the vehicle your engine is going to fall out". Very professional, accommodating, and good at what they do. They tell you up front what they are going to do, and what it will cost, then they do it, and charge you what they said they would...no additional bullshit. They will tell you what needs to be done for best driving experience, but it will be up to you. I drove 35 miles for these guys to work on my vehicle.
