Went in for a headlight bulb replacement...let's just say I got ripped off. AND they missed THREE of the bulbs they were supposed to replace. Went in today to speak with a service rep about this and first he said "ok we will cover that for you, it looks like our tech missed that bulb" next thing you know he comes back from talking with the parts guy and says, yeah about that bulb, we can't do that for free and we're going to actually have to order it in... meanwhile I have TEXT messages from "Justin" about the bulbs they were SUPPOSED to replace. This place is awful, I won't be be going back, please take my post as a fair warning! They will charge you for service and not do it! read more

I needed some license plate parts for my girlfriend's car in a hurry (someone stole hers while parked on the street). I called and spoke with Bruce in Service who went above in beyond! Not only did he have the front plate bracket I needed but he also included mounting screws and an idea for improvising the rear plate mounting to hold me over until I could get the correct part the following day. Bruce and Bloomington Acura solved my immediate need at a very reasonable price and with a level of customer service rarely seen these days. Took my 2024 Subaru Impreza for an oil change with odometer reading 2800 miles. The service brochure advertized $74.xx service fee. Instead I was charged $98.00. When I complained, I was told, its because of the oW16 motor oil. When I looked up the Subaru website, it says that ow20 is recommended for my vehicle because i don't have a turbo. I purchased my car here back in September and worked with Mood. He was an incredible salesman who was not pushy, was very real, and didn't try to oversell us on things we didn't need. He wasn't sleazy, he was fair and my brother and I really appreciated working with him! It was my first time buying my own car, something I didn't openly share, but he accepted my offer and I got a really great deal on my Subaru Legacy. Still loving it!! Fast forward to today, I'm about to take a looong road trip down to AZ and start a new life with the hubby out of this tundra so getting a solid oil check & maintenance was a no-brainer. Came in and did the expedited auto service, HOLY WOW was it a five star experience! As soon as I drove in I was warmly greeted & introduced to a man named Sal. There were folks on either side and I swear I just drove into a conference meeting of professional car experts. It's nothing I'd experienced before but Sal took care of me, got me in & out the door within an hour. He explained everything that was optional to have changed for the future and sent me on my way. I purchased my car here in 2016. I have had all of my servicing done through them. They have some nice touches like a free loaner and a free car wash. There have been a few glitches (some trim installed wrong) but they made it right. The service advisers are all knowledgeable and I like that they don't talk down to me because I am a woman. Since I used to work on my own car, back when you didn't have everything computerized, I know when someone is trying to shine me. They have been above board and professional. I came in here on a Friday morning at 8:30 and it was already packed. I opted for an oil change and the quick service reception was awesome. Got me checked in and told me it would be a 2 hour wait for an oil change. Ughh. But, there were 8 people in front of me, so I was going to work from the service center for a couple of hours. They have a lot of free sodas and snacks if you want, available and free wi-fi, so connecting to work was no problem. We have had our car serviced here for 13 years, ever since we have had our Subaru. They came out after 1 1/2 hours and explained everything about the oil change and check to me and spelled it all out. Very professional and they had a $5 coupon for the oil change on the internet. My MDX was experiencing some electrical issues which were draining the battery even when the car off was off. I brought it in July and they diagnosed it as a faulty key cylinder which they disabled. Fast forward less than a month and the problem reemerges. I call and they tell me it can't possibly be the same issue, saying it is "90% the battery in the key fob" after explaining the lights on the key fob were illuminated and the battery had been recently changed they asked me to bring it in again. The service representative, Cliff Rob, said the testing to diagnose the problem would be free this time. I arrived at the service department the morning of my appointment only to have Cliff tell me that the testing would only be free if it was related to the same issue, which is not what he said on the phone. Just kept repeating "trust me, I'm going to take care of you" all the while not keeping his word. This place does not stand behind their service! They will repeatedly lie and blame shift to attempt to not take responsibility for their work. Do yourself a favor and find another place to have your car serviced. read more

I've taken my car here exclusively for 10 years. Today, I called for some questions about service and appointments. The person who answered my call handled everything so poorly that I decided I am done with them. At least act like you care about the customers and want to be helpful. Stellar service! If you don't choose to wait for your service, you can request a loaner or shuttle service to your destination. If you wait in the lobby, you can eat all their snacks and drink all the Caribou coffee you please. Unlimited chips, granola bars, soda, apple cider, and hot chocolate! #winning. For regular maintenance, Bloomington Subaru has an accelerated lane to the right. Depending upon when you arrive, you can have everything done in approximately 30 minutes. It seriously makes me wonder why it took so long previously. No complaints as I am appreciative. In the past, I would prolong getting a service done because I didn't have the time to wait. Now with the acceleration lane, that is not an issue. As a female, I have never felt as if Acura was duping me on recommendations. They provide proof if my face looks like I am doubting them. But it's never a look of doubt; I assure you. Probably just a look of shame from all the snacks I ate on the lobby. While I was satisfied with my experience when I bought my 2016 Forester from these people a few years ago, I cannot tell you how frustrated I am with their (recent) Service department. I called for service on my vehicle today and was told that the soonest they could see me is 3 weeks from now!!!! That is absurd and that is also without the use of a loaner car. My parents' own an Acura MDX, which they also purchased from this location, and the battery for one of their key fobs died. I called their center to ask if they needed an appointment (I over-prepare), and the receptionist noted I just needed to visit their Parts Department. Like a car dealership should have, they have plenty of parking. Upon entering their main entrance, veer to your right to see the waiting lounge/ Parts Department. I had the battery replaced in under ten minutes, and it only cost $9.95. Other helpful tidbits: - They have a small playroom, for children. - Their waiting room provides complimentary Caribou Coffee and snacks. - The interior could use a facelift. Even though I didn't purchase a car there, I would gladly return to get "my" car serviced there. read more

I would be unlikely to purchase a car here related to unfriendly, bored appearing sales staff encountered on several occasions. However, the service department here is outstanding. We recently had a service problem with our new Subaru and the dealer we purchased it from (Walser Subaru, Burnsville) refused to fit us in to their service schedule same day. We were left with an urgent mechanical issue which limited our ability to drive the car. Called Bloomington Acura/Subaru and they graciously agreed to evaluate our car. Half an hour later, the issue was solved and we were on our way. The service staff top to bottom communicate clearly and concisely and make sure the customer is satisfied before you walk out the door. They offer scheduled appointments and same-day drive-ins dependent on your needs. read more

We have purchased 5 Subarus from Bloomington Acura Subaru over the past 20 plus years. One of the reasons we keep returning is the service department. They have always been prompt, friendly and professional. This review was motivated by a recent passenger side air bag recall. I received a notification in the mail indicating that my 2014 Outback was subject to a recall to replace the air bag on the passenger side and that no one should occupy this seat until the airbag had been replaced. This was very inconvenient but of course safety demanded that we follow directions. I called to make an appointment expecting a long delay but was informed that the following Sunday there was to be a special session specifically for airbag replacement. I immediately jumped on this opportunity and scheduled a 10 am appointment . When I arrived I was greeted by name and directed to the waiting room where there was free coffee, juice, and bakery goods. I was told the repair would take about one hour and in about 45 minutes I received a text telling me it was finished. I was extremely pleased and would recommend Bloomington Acura Subaru for their service department. read more

We brought our Forester in for a 30,000 check/tune up. We told them we were going on a long cross country trip as well and asked them to be sure to check the spare tire for us. They told us we needed a cam carrier reseal for $l500 to $2000. We brought the car in to our regular mechanic. They found the spare tire FLAT, and put the car up on the hoist and said, 'no cam carrier reseal job is necessary.' Wow. We're so glad we have an ethical mechanic! read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT - THEY OVERCHARGE AND DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE I recently took my Acura MDX to this service department. Not only did they charge me several hundred dollars for a diagnostic they also damaged my car in the process. When we picked up our vehicle the battery, which is less than six months old, was damaged, drained and non-functional. Their quote for the following work as over $3500 dollars Replace a damaged hose for power steering Replace the side mirror - Product and Install - The part is available on the internet for $100 Replace the Tire Pressure Monitor on right front tire They delivered the car from service, we drive it home and next morning it was dead. I had the pleasure of doing business with Alex, the service advisor. I needed a software upgrade due to a TSB that hadn't been resolved. I could barely finish my sentence when Alex kindly interjected that he knew exactly what TSB I was referring to, said they have the current software, and would be more than happy to schedule ASAP to have that service performed. This was all after being greeted by two other very polite and well dressed gentlemen on the other side of the service entrance. Every member of the service staff was very welcoming, kind, friendly, patient, and not pushy. The labor rates are very competitive, one other Acura dealer told me it would be an all day thing, and the Honda dealer that initially told me they could do the TSB told me they couldn't after making an appointment. Suffice to say, Bloomington Acura sets the bar VERY high especially for the other high-end luxury auto dealers in the metro area. read more

UPDATE - It's now 10 am Monday morning, and despite emails and texts no word from them. Called and find out DONNY doesn't even work today. Speaking to Juan didn't get me any contact with the manager or the mechanic, because he's not at the same location. (Don't you hate it when they do that?) So he gives me the number to call for the actual location and to ask for the manager. THAT'S THE NUMBER I CALLED TO GET HIM! There was no receptionist to divert calls to the proper person. So now I wait for calls from the manager and the mechanic to see exactly where my car is (probably still in the lot and not on the lift - wanna bet?) I think we will have to drive there to get an answer. If it's not been touched yet I will cancel it all and take it to WB Subaru. So done with Bloomington. This is not a mechanic problem, it's a management problem. A bad mechanic can be fired. Bad management is often systemic, and not fixable. And now it's 11 am and they're looking for my car. No clue where it is in the system. !!!!!!!! Again ZERO STARS. UPDATE - They found my car. Hasn't been touched yet! Said they could ask to have it done by 3 pm. I said it's done by three or you give me a free rental. It appears if I hadn't called it would still have sat there until Tuesday - perhaps - when DONNY walked back in the door to work. They went into his texts and read all my entries and claim this is not how they do business. I beg to differ. A good manager would oversee the intake and work orders to make sure the mechanics are getting work done. Failure on many levels here. I said they should also compensate me in some way for all this crap, forcing me to change some weekend plans, make numerous dead end calls, texts and emails trying to get answers and results, etc..... Manager "Trisha" says, "but this is warranty work, you're not paying anything." Therein lies the truth! Because they're not making money on "warranty work" (two recalls = flaws in the vehicle) they don't feel I deserve the same level of service and quality of care as a "paying" customer. We are second rate customers. That is a systemic failure in their thinking, business model, and customer relations. read more

Review based on their service department only. I have an older Subaru that's been giving me some trouble so I called to schedule a service appointment. This place is so easy to work with...they are open until 10pm and you can drop your car off the day before if you need to. Drop off was quick and painless. Service guy listened to all the problems we rattled off, and told me that someone would call me the next morning. At about 8:45am, Carl the Service Guy called to let me know what was wrong. He answered my questions and gave me just enough detail so that I was comfortable with what was going on. He gave me an estimate, and mentioned he might have some coupons he could use. Car was ready later that day. Carl made good on his estimate, coming in about 10% lower with the coupons (which, really, are probably just made up, but it's nice to feel like you saved some money). Picking up the car was as easy as drop off. The waiting area has a cooler with free cans of pop. Even though I didn't have to wait, I helped myself to a can, and a bag of pretzels. Hey, it's the little things... Car runs great now. Everyone I dealt with there was personable, knowledgeable and professional. Very pleased! read more

This Review is about their SERVICE DEPARTMENT. If it would be possible to give minus points, I would! I went there with my husband to just get a burned lightbulb changed. We had the WORST service experience there! We had a scheduled appointment and after arriving and checking in, they told us it would take around 45min. So after 45min a guy did come to us, but only to tell us that they did an overall check and they have to replace the lightbulb but they don't know yet how much it would cost. Seriously? You have the car in front of you and you don't know how much that exact light bulb is? Well, then it took another 45min to get it done. After paying we went to the car, started it and were ready to leave, when we noticed the same lightbulb that was broken was not even working after they "fixed" it! After confronting the service person again, he immediately handed us another paper that said we need to pay an extra 550$ to get the inverter replaced. He did not even look at the car again and immediately knew what was wrong? So why did you not tell and change it before?! We ended up leaving without paying and still with a burned out lightbulb. I mean, he told us they did an OVERALL CHECK at the beginning (which is 62$ on the bill) and he did not notice what was wrong? Additionally, we discovered that our fog lights are not working either, how can you not notice that at an overall check?! I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE CENTER AT ALL!!! Moreover, we had another customer waiting with us who had a bad service experience too. He had to get something replaced for what they have to move the car in a special ankle. After letting him wait for 1 1/1 hrs they told him they can't do it cause the fuel tank would be too full. However, they could remove half of the fuel tank but unfortunately they can't put it back in. So how come they did not look at the fuel tank before they already detached the parts and set the car up for over an hour? The service person did excuse for their mistake but it's still a waste of the customers time as he had to leave (cause he didn't want to waste half of his tank) with no actual service. read more

Brought my 2019 WRX in for an oil change and upon their mutipoint inspection they "found" that the air filter was extremely dirty. The car only has 7000 miles on it. 7000 miles. It is not the first subaru Ive owned and I know for a fact that the air filters do not get to the level of dirty that they "claim" to have found mine in. Conveniently they tried to charge me $40 for an air filter which I declined. I ended up going down the street to buy one for $20 because they gladly replaced "my" dirty air filter back into the car. The seat was also readjusted to whomever found the need to move everything around to pull the car 10 feet into the garage. Bring your business elsewhere unless you are ready to pay for parts that you probably didnt need when you drove in, but will need when you leave. read more

I should've ask for a different sales person. I'm a luck of the draw kind of person so I went online and hit the chat w/me icon. I wanted to test drive a Subaru, the sales person asked what time. My response was in about 20mins, they said no problem and gave me their info for the receptionist so she could let my sales person know when I arrived. When I arrived and met the my sales person, we had a quick chat and then we're off on a test drive. While on the test drive my sales person's received a phone call, which they immediately answer (a bit awkward for me.) and it's their spouse calling about an issue w/their car. We finish up the test drive and arrive back on the lot and sit at their desk as I'm making life choices about what to do buy or lease, when my sales person gets another call from their spouse stating they have arrived on the Subaru lot so my sales person excuses their self to deal w/the vehicle issue of spouse. I ended up walking away that day as I didn't have all my required paperwork. Upon getting what was required paperwork I arrive back to the Subaru hoping I can quietly deal w/another sales person. Upon walking in I wait for the receptionist to finish w/her conversation w/a fellow employee, she greets me kindly and I asked to see my sales person she stated my sales person has left for a family event and I ask if their is someone else I may speak w/as I would like to move forward w/obtaining a new car. The employee the receptionist was speaking to upon my initial arrival steps in and rudely states I must go through my sales person and promptly kicks me to the curb. a few days later my sales person makes contact with me, so I return to Subaru to put down a deposit and chat w/my sales person. Once again my sales person is interrupted by their spouse for a lunch delivery. My sales person and I find a day we can officially sign paperwork and I can pick up my new car. I arrive back at Subaru to sign paperwork and obtain my new car. My sales person once again was interrupted by their spouse for a lunch delivery. My sales person was suppose to make contact w/me upon arrival of my license plates to be fair I was in and out of town. However, I never got said phone call or email stating my plates were in. Knowing Minnesota DMV had been backed up for quite awhile I gave well over the 21 temp tags allowed. I finally called the Subaru o dealership and the kind person stated my sales person repeatedly attempted to make contact. I'm not sure if my sales person did or did not attempt to make contact as I never received any phone calls. Morale of the story you deserve to be treated with respect, your time is precious, and purchasing a car should be a fun and great experience. read more

My 2015 Subaru Legacy was having issues with starting, so I brought it here to be serviced. To make a VERY long story short, they had my car for a week, sent it home with me having "repaired" it, and the next day it didn't start again. I brought it back in, they had it for another week before telling me the issue was with my after-market remote start. I then brought the car to the remote start provider to troubleshoot. It turns out, the technician there found that my starter fuse was blown and fixed it for me in 30 minutes. While I don't know enough about the technical side to determine why Subaru didn't identify this, it seemed odd to me. After expressing my frustrations, they gave me a gift card for future services to improve my satisfaction and win back my trust. While the situation was frustrating, I understand mistakes can be made, and companies who do something to try to right the wrong always gain my trust for the future. read more

After assessing my car, Anthony Johnson, a service advisor, explained that more work would be needed in order to insure safe driving (new tires and differential). He went above and beyond with THE BEST customer service I have ever experienced in over 45 years of driving. I cannot recommend the service at this dealership...Especially Anthony Johnson! read more

Unfortunately I see I am not alone in my experience. The service center staff is great. They are prompt to greet you and handle your service needs. My primary complaint is about the shuttle service. I had a scheduled appointment and called the morning of to confirm that the shuttle service would be available right way to take me to work. This is a service the dealership promotes for convenience and I think customers should be able to take advantage of. I confirmed that the driver was available and that my destination fell within there mileage requirements. When I checked in for my appointment I again asked if the driver was ready to go. They said they would find him and send him to get me. It would be a few minutes. After 15 minutes, I asked about the driver to see where/when I could expect him. The service representative apologized and said he would be right out. It took another 15 minutes before the driver came to the lobby. It was 30 minutes of waiting with little communication from the staff. Very disappointed. I recognize I have options to arrange my own transportation rather than use a complimentary service from the dealership. I will not rely on the dealership again and would rather pay for a ride share service to guarantee my pick up and delivery. read more

THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE SERVICE CENTER. I bought my car here in 2009 and have been bringing it back for oil changes and maintenance service since. They have great customer service in the service department. They are open really early so it is easy to come before work, and they are very accommodating when scheduling an appointment. It usually takes about an hour for the oil change and there is free wi fi, coffee, and tea in the customer lounge. I get a full written report of what they did to my car, and they clean the interior and exterior. I receive a newsletter by email about once a month that also has a $7.00 coupon off oil changes and other discounts. The prices are about the same as most places, but they definitely give you more for your money and you wont have to leave your car there half the day. read more

BEST SERVICE DEPARTMENT EVER! When I brought my 1999 Outback in there with an intermittent stalling problem, they fixed it... even though the car fought them every step of the way. Intermittent failures are nearly impossible to diagnose unless they manifest themselves at exactly the right time, but they did not give up. Long story short they discovered the work done by another dealership had been done wrong, and corrected it. I was charged only for the actual work that needed to be performed. If I could I would give these guys a -5 stars! Terrible! Terrible! Terrible place to take your beloved Subaru. I know they'll hate this review because of how true it is. The service center there sucks a$$. You ask for "Full Synthetic 5W30 Engine Oil" and they put in "Regular 5w30 Engine Oil". Instead of admitting fault and redoing the job, their mechanics will argue their point and tell you that the regular stuck will still work just fine for your car. Oh and yes the mysterious oil leaks that they claim to find but when you take your car home and check for yourself.. no oil leaks whatsoever. I even had our family mechanic lift my car up to check and no leaks found either. They said this at every other oil change I got from them. One night after I received the oil change, my CEL came on FLASHING. The mechanic said that it came in that way. Bullsh#t! I was the one that even turned the engine on for the service tech to get the mileage on my car before the service and no lights were flashing then. The manager on duty told me that it was my issue and that there was nothing that they could have possibly done to cause those lights to flash. I contacted the main manager Lisa and it was no win situation. She said she was confident about her service crews's opinions and judgements that night and would stand behind them. She offered to have my car fully tested to see what the issue was and so that she could see it for herself. I declined because i wasn't going to risk having my car tampered with again by unprofessionals and that I trusted my family mechanic more because he lifted up my car and walked me through any areas that oil could be leaking from and we did not find any traces of oil. Stay away from their service center. from reading all of the other bad reviews, I see that I am not the only one that received their bad service. I hope Karma comes back around. read more
