Poor customer service. I requested inspection service last week over the phone for a house I am trying to purchase and provided all the details to the plumber. The following day I sent two emails with things to look out for during the inspection (email was validated as correct). I got no response, so I said okay sure let me call them later in the day. I called to confirm my appointment and if they saw my emails, they said yes. The day of inspection comes and I got no calls that they were in their way to check the house I wanted to purchase. I called them after their 2 hour arrival window to check if they made it. They said yes but were unsure what to look for, they had no idea of my emails or conversation. Complete waste of time. However they offered to make it somewhat right. Since they did not get my emails (somehow) they asked if can I send my email to their personal email and that they would provide an estimate later during the day. I did that, and they confirmed they received it. That was Thursday, it is now Monday and crickets. No calls or texts. Left on read. This company needs to know how important customer service is. I hope that they learn from this experience so they can help out future customers better. 2 stars because AT least they did go to the property. read more

I called Preferred Plumbing because the toilet in our most-used powder room had been backed up for weeks, maybe even months, and a plunger just couldn't fix it. It had become incredibly inconvenient for our family of four to keep going upstairs. When David and another staff members arrived, they used a camera to inspect the issue and discovered roots growing inside the pipe--my worst nightmare, as we had a similar issue near the concrete in our backyard before. They spent nearly five hours here and finally resolved the problem, allowing us to breathe a sigh of relief. Here's what they did: they removed the toilet and used a cable to clear the mainline stoppage, pulling out 18 inches of roots. They then ran a camera through the main sewer line to check for additional issues. Although there is a section of the drain that sags and causes sewage to sit, the mainline was still able to drain properly. The team broke the concrete around the toilet flange to expose and replace the old flange, adding root killer crystals to prevent future growth. They filled the hole with concrete and reinstalled the toilet. Plus, they provided a 5-year warranty on their workmanship. While the repair was more than I expected, it was necessary to solve such a significant problem. We live with my mother, and they kindly offered us a senior discount. Service was performed on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, and will be completed with patching the exterior stucco. My home is your typical late 1950's West Covina single story home, with a raised foundation with crawl space. The issue was my kitchen sink wasn't draining. I called an inexpensive rooter service, tried unclogging it but was unsuccessful. He put a camera in the line and showed it had cracked and clogged original pipes. Terrible news but let's face it they were the original drainage pipes over 60 years old! Long story short I had no choice but to get these kitchen drain pipes replaced. Absolutely unfortunate situation which needed to be repaired. I used Yelps Projects option and got multiple plumber referrals. I ultimately decided to go with Preferred. Why? They did a great job of coming very close to price matching the jobs scope. I basically sent them others scope of work, minus the price and said give me your best price on the scope shown. They essentially did, plus their Yelp reviews were 4.8 Stars, 266 reviews at the time I did this. Their crew of 2 arrived on time and were absolutely great to interface with, no issues at all communicating what the scope was. They started at about 9:30am, finishing up at about 4:30pm (they did take a lunch break). While performing the work under the house , they identified another problem which was my washing machine drainage line was broken. I added this to be repaired. Again, unfortunate situation but at least it was discovered and addressed. In total, they broke open the exterior stucco, replacing the existing trap, removed and replaced all under the house kitchen and washing machine water drainage lines and related connections, and replaced the under the sink lines too. All new from sink to cast iron line in the ground. The sink water drains very quickly now. Issue resolved. Review the before and after photos. My suggestion is to call them LAST after you collected all pricing to have them meet or beat others. I am completely satisfied with the work performed, the professionalism and openness of the technicians, the warranty, and the price matching. When I originally called, I spoke to David. You should too because if you live in a late 1950's home, I am sure you will have this same issue. Address it before you have no choice. This is my honest and candid review. He was suppose to come 8am-10am and he showed up at 11am?? We were told when he came in for an estimate - it would be $225. Then after he's been there after 3-4 hours and taking all three of our toilets out. He said $1,500???? That is ridiculous. He kept calling because he didn't know what he was doing. He was not experienced at all. We couldn't use the bathroom for 8 hours. Do not go to them at all! They are a RIPOFF and they lied. After saying it would be $225 then charging us $1,500. I had a leaking wall valve for the refrigerator ice maker. I called Preferred. They promptly sent out two guys. They wanted to open the dry wall and replace the entire valve box. I told them that there were youtube videos which indicated that there was a simple valve only replacement without replacing the valve box or cutting the drywall. They got upset and left. I found another youtube video which showed how a $5 cap could be screwed on to the valve to stop the leak. I spent the $5, put on the cap, and now there is no leak. read more

We had a kitchen leak which turned out to be a pipe in the wall behind the dishwasher. Unfortunately it was starting to spread under kitchen cabinet to outside wall next to door. The technician whom came out said he needed to get a hold of his supervisor. In fact, the owners came out, David and Jason. They told us that they had a company they worked with and would contact them for us. Not only did they do this for us but they also were kind enough to give me their personal cellphone number should we have any questions. They ended up having to repipe the whole house, house is old! When their crew came in, they taped everything off to contain as much dust possible. I called Preferred Plumbing along with at least 8 other plumbing companies for an estimate for a broken regulator, which I learned as a first time homeowner, controlled the water pressure in the home. He was so kind and professional on the phone, and referred me to Hugo. Hugo was communicative and flexible with his time and came to fix it within one hour. He was professional and skilled. He also was very patient when it came to explaining water softeners and its benefits for our home and our new water heater. I texted them again in order to help with a broken toilet and water filter, and someone came out within the next 30 minutes. David was punctual, professional, and helpful with everything that he looked at. There are some great plumbing companies and plumbers I got to meet in the last two weeks, but Preferred Plumbing was BY FAR the most responsive, professional, and informative. They were friendly, and what I appreciated most was that they didn't over-dramatize all of the things I needed to fix in our home. A lot of plumbers, as nice as they were, pressured me to fix things at that moment and gave a bigger estimate. And there were those that gave me an estimate a bit lower than Preferred Plumbing, but didn't seem as professional, making it harder for me to trust what kind of service I would be receiving.
