I have been attending this urgent care for almost a year now. The staff there is extremely professional and fast. They usually get me and my family members out in approximately 30 min or less. All the PAs there are all excellent and understanding, but my favorite PA is a female with tattoos. I wish I could recall her name. Anyhow she makes me feel like I'm seeing one of my friends or a family member. I'm very relaxed, she explains everything, tell me what's wrong and out it go. PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE: This urgent care placed an oral thermometer in my mouth WITHOUT a disposable probe cover. When I brought it up, they admitted it happened and told me the thermometer is cleaned at the end of the day, not between patients. That is extremely concerning and unacceptable. Because of this situation, I was advised by a clinical staff member to get blood work done within two weeks. The clinic also waived my transaction that day because of what happened, but then I later received a bill saying I owed $70 and was given conflicting information when I tried to get answers. I have documentation of my conversations with them. This entire experience left me questioning their safety practices, communication, and how they handle patient concerns. UNPROFESSIONAL SENSITIVE ENTITLED STAFF!! Do not go here!!!! I took my grandson to this clinic on Tuesday night. The doctor was superb. He was very kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. My grandson has asthma couldn't breathe, was exhausted, had a bad cough and we found out he had a bronchial infection. The doc gave us his prescription and we thought we had a nebulizer at home but didn't. I called today, less than 48 hours after our appointment and was told we'd have to go in for another appointment in order for the doc to call a prescription in for the Nebulizer. Grandson just moved here and paid $189 self pay plus $75 for a steroid shot. They wanted us to pay another $189 for a second appointment, so I told the clerk to please let the doctor know we loved him, but didn't like this policy. People don't have that kind of money, especially after paying for meds out of pocket too. SMH! read more

I do not recommend using this facility unless you are OK with fraudulent billing practices. On two separate occasions, the last one in December 2021, I made an appointment to be tested for Covid. Both times I sat in my car outside their facility. Both times they came out and administered the test while I sat in my car. Both times they charged me for an office visit in addition to the Covid test, even though there was no office visit. On neither occasion was I sick, or did I request to be seen by a doctor or medical assistant of any kind. On both occasions they charged me over $150. If you want to go to a quality urgent care facility, that does not use fraudulent billi practices, go to any AFC Urgent Care. There is one at 18310 W Airport Blvd #100, Richmond, TX 77407. There is another one on 6445 FM 1463, Suite 230, Katy, TX 77494. Both of these locations are reputable. We will be giving AFC all of our business for after hours or other urgent care needs. read more

She told me she was going to talk with the director once he returned from being out of the country and she was going to call me back. SHE LIED! SHE NEVER called me back. It's very disappointing being treated by a place that tells you "there's no much else it can be done" for a RSV, COVID, Strep or even a pneumonia. They are very good in collections (urgent care fee + credit card fee + x-ray fee + any other exam you need to go with it. I spent over 2 hours on the place and will leave without being diagnosed if pneumonia is negative. And I was the one to ask for x-ray, otherwise, I would have came here for nothing. The doctor who saw my son was great and very attentive, however the staff upfront are unprofessional and aren't knowledgeable enough to be answering phones and patient questions. My boyfriend went in for a Covid test and was charged $130+ for the test. When he came home I informed him that tests should be free especially since they accept his insurance. When I called the facility the not so friendly girl who answered told me that there was no way they could scan and email a receipt to us because "the system was down" and that "if he would've asked for a receipt they would have given him one." Yeah no duh. You're telling me the entire facility has no email access to scan and email a piece of paper!? They obviously didn't make the claim on his insurance because why would they when they could try to scam him out of $130+!? I called asking if I needed to make an appointment and I was immediately impressed by the person who answered the phone. When I arrived everything was super quick and the MA was really nice as well. I was disappointed by the lack of bedside manner that Dr. Ekong provided. Went in for a COVID test for travel. Made an appointment and still had to wait almost an hour. The lady took my insurance info, then came back and said my insurance had a copay that was more than the test cost if I paid out of pocket. I believed her and paid 100 dollars for the test. She didn't give me a receipt. After speaking to my insurance provider, they told me that they pay 100% for COVID testing and to call back to preferred for a receipt so I could be reimbursed for the test. I called and spoke with a lady, and she said she would email my receipt to me. Highly recommend confirming pricing prior to any testing, even if you have insurance, as I went in for an infection and was informed that I had to have a COVID test, which ended up costing Insurance and myself a total of 1300 dollars, even though I had advised that I had taken a home COVID test that morning and it was negative. I visited the clinic for a covid 19 lab test earlier this year. When I called earlier in the day, They told me that they take all insurances for covid testing. I did not need to pay out of pocket, according to the receptionist. I entered the clinic to obtain the covid test. Immediately, the front desk receptionist stopped me and told me to return to my car. They will collect the specimen for covid test in my car. Okay. I thought the clinic felt weird. How do they perform the test and the doc visit in my car? I waited in my car until the medical assistant came to the lot. She obtained my insurance and driver's license for the paperwork. She told me that the clinic staff will fill the paperwork for covid testing. I thought the clinic's procedure seems odd. Why wouldn't the clinic ask me to fill the forms or have a patient portal for online forms? Then, the physician assistant came out of the clinic to examine my nose and ears and take my temperature. After the PA approved, the medical assistant collected the specimen for the lab. The clinic told me it will have the results in two days. I obtained the covid lab results after two days as promised by the business. However, the clinic's billing practices border on insurance fraud.... as I will explain in the next paragraph... After one month, I found out from my insurance the clinic billed $200 for the 15-minute "visit" with the physician assistant IN THE PARKING LOT in addition to the UC+R fee for covid specimen collection. Because most commercial insurances pay for the visit associated with covid testing, the clinic gets paid directly by insurance. The clinic hopes that you never read your EOB's or else you will know. Folks, check you EOB's from your insurance! That was ridiculous! The PA "examined" me for a quarter of an hour in the parking lot. This is an urgent care clinic... not an ER facility. Under my private insurance rules, The clinic cannot charge for the "visit". I am appealing the charges with my insurance. read more

I had a bad fall which crushed my chin, pretty much, and everybody there took me under their care immediately. Outrageous! I went to Preferred Urgent Care to take a free Covid test for travelling to Europe in January. I just returned and found a few letters from this Clinic in my mail. I tried to call them in March from overseas but no one returned my call. For a PCR Covid Test that should be free, taken in the parking area after collection of my personal information (no entry into the clinic!) they have charged my insurance company US$511.50 ! There was no request/mentioning of any cost, Co-pay or other, at the test site. It is OUTRAGEOUS to charge the insurance $511.50 for a simple test. I did not request anything else in addition, did not have any symptoms of illness or concerns. HOW can you defend such a charge? Now I have just returned to the US and received a FINAL NOTICE in the mail 2 May, dated 23 April. This Smells like FRAUD CHARGES! During my visit in the Parking area (totally ~10 min with check-in and test) I was not informed about ANY charges. The bill I have received is for US$25... What For??? What upset me the most is the charge my Insurance has been presented with....for a Covid Test. If there were a Co-Pay for the test I should have been informed directly and given the choice if I wanted to pay for the testing or choose another testing location-No information about ANY cost. Hiding charges, not returning voicemail calls and then sending FINAL NOTICE is Not OK. I needed a COVID 19 test. After researching locations near me, this urgent care was the only one with availability for a next day appointment. I made my appointment online, registered and entered all the required information. On the day of my appointment, I followed the instructions displayed outside their location. I was seen and tested within 10 minutes. Results within a day... Extremely efficient and I would highly recommend going there for testing. But registering online prior to my appointment I believe definitely streamlined the process! read more

Super nice people. Decor could use some love. Was very unimpressed when I walked in and looked around. The decorations, the furniture, the TV on the wall with the cables hanging everywhere...just made me think the whole place wasn't very nice. And when you're going to get medical care you want it to look nice because it makes you feel like it reflects the level of care you're about to get. That being said...the two ladies I found there were super nice. I went in to have something looked at and they were very helpful. After meeting with the nurse I felt much more at ease and would come back for any other issue. You have to catch them during their hours of operation though so don't plan on going here late at night in an emergency. Of course, if you're reading this then you probably don't have emergency at the moment. I visited on a early Sunday morning. Easy online check in system. I made an appointment the same day and arrived within 15 minutes of it being scheduled. The check-in process was smooth and simple. The office rep Diane (or Diana, my apologies, I forgot) was very friendly and helpful. The medical assistant and physician (Dr.Stephane) were also nice and attentive. They have Roku tv to enjoy while you wait in the exam room, however, the service was so fast I didn't need much time to watch tv. The facility was clean and sanitary. With my recent experience, One star is generous. I asked specifically if they did a PCR covid test for travel. The answer was yes! The turn around time for this test is needed within 72 hours. I was guaranteed I'd get the results within that time. Of course I didn't receive the results. Needless to say, the day of my travels I had to scramble to find another place to do a PCR covid test to get results within hours, I had to re-book flights with another airline for a later time. And almost lost my hotel reservations. Their fiasco cost over $500. DO NOT use them for PCR testing. You will be disappointed. I do not recommend Preferred Urgent Care for traveling required Covid PCR test because they have the policy of charging an office visit that is not required for traveling, and it may not be covered by the insurance . The PCR test was 100% covered by my insurance, but I still had to pay $388.00 for office visit (two persons). Because we were in a hurry for having results within 24 hrs, and I though all urgent cares share similar policies, I decided to have the test administered along with the office visit. Later, my husband found another place, Zion Urgent Care Clinic, which policy would not required to charge an office visit prior to administering the PCR test. I'm very disappointed and would like the owner to contact me regarding the horrible service I received today. I was prescribed an antibiotic that was on nationwide backorder. After calling all of the pharmacies in the area that were open, and finding none that had the medication, I called the clinic and asked them to change it to another one. They agreed and so I sat at CVS for over an hour, and called them three times during that hour to check on the status of the replacement script. The girl at the front desk said that the replacement prescription was just sent, and after I called back 15 minutes later, I was told it was going to be re-sent. I work in a pharmacy and can tell you that the prescription system could glitch and drop a communication of a prescription once, but not two times. I told them I was still waiting at the CVS, yet this tells me they never sent the replacement prescription, and were ok with letting an unwell person continue to wait for a prescription they never sent. I made it clear to Preferred Urgent Care that I had been waiting at CVS this entire time. The wait time was great and the employee at the front desk was helpful, but the PA on duty was dismissive and kept cutting me off mid-sentence. The bedside manner was horrible, but I just thought she might be in a bad mood. Now I know that it was intentional, and the fact that her conscience/ethics are fine with letting an ill person suffer even more and waste more than an hour of my time on top of it, says a lot. I would like a refund or the replacement prescription sent immediately. The clinic closed for the night and now I'm left with no medication and no choice but to waste more time and drive over there to get a prescription in-person. read more
