Simply amazing thanks Leslie for a great experience. The only issue I had was finding the actual facility I drove around a few times and I did read the email. And called the place but got a voicemail. There's a small sign that said pregnancy massage but there was the Scottish Rite which confused me I didn't know if it was just an advertisement or what but I found Leslie outside which helped me. The Facility was clean and quiet. She walked me through all the steps at what she was going to do. I was very comfortable at 9 months pregnant laying and relaxed. A friend referred me to this place (they open a new location in Roswell) due to the fact of going into my 2nd trimester and getting the terrible back aches. Not only back aches but trouble sleeping as tired as I am. And let me tell you that this was the best $85 (for a hour) spent! I no longer have back aches while standing or walking too long, and I sleep so much better. If you're in your 2nd to 3rd trimester, I suggest that you should come here and get a session. The place is located in a house on Virginia Highland, which contains other small businesses within the building. My only gripe is the parking spots, it is a tiny driveway with 3 spots to your right that you can park in, if one is available. The massage spot is directly to your right when you enter the house. The place has a strange old smelling older, nothing bad, just musty. Once you walk in, there is a bed which has pillows that are strategically placed to support your belly, legs, and arms at a very comfortable level. You take off everything except your underwear and slip under the sheets. The bed is heated which is very nice. My masseuse is Lindsey and she asked all my symptoms and spent the entire hour just working her magic. I am so glad that I went and plan to go twice a month till my due date. *they do not recommend going during your first trimester as that is the most critical time of pregnancy. read more

It's never good when you walk out of a massage feeling less relaxed than when you walked in. It was a very thoughtful and appreciated gift from a loved one, and I planned time away from family in order to make it work in my schedule. Perhaps my expectations were too high based on past massages, which (from other locations) had left me feeling pretty amazing. While the provider was generally very nice, she seemed anxious the entire time. She actually told me to relax on one occasion, mid-massage, unprompted, and in a rather amused tone. It's hard to relax when you're awkwardly positioned on stiff, askew pillows in a brightly lit room with someone who keeps bumping into the table, dropping things on the table, wiping lotion on your face and in your hair, and every so often asking you questions unrelated to the massage. Not to mention the process of flipping over in her loosely instructed fashion when she was ready for the other side. It was like a Pilates session just to shift a couple pillows. She worked on one side of my hip but not the other, and the other half of my neck but not the first, so the whole thing was disjointed. I really wanted to enjoy the experience. It was such a great idea, the place has such wonderful reviews, and I was so excited to have an hour of peace. I must say, I walked out feeling disappointed and slimy. read more

Heavenly!!!! I rarely treat myself to anything relaxing or just for me. So my wonderful husband called and made an appointment with Lindsey Glover who was recommended to me by my friend and neighbor. I was probably about 36 weeks pregnant when I went in for my hour massage. Lindsey has a very calming demeanor. She was very friendly and sweet when she greeted me. The massage room set up was very relaxing and perfectly well lit with natural light. All the pillows and sheets provided were so soft and so comfortable. I loved my massage so much! It was exactly what I needed to work out some of my tight spots and help me relax. I probably fell asleep for a little bit of it but I wanted to make sure that I was awake to enjoy how awesome the massage was. I think I even woke myself up with a little snore. I would highly recommend the pregnancy massage center and definitely Lindsey Glover. She was super fantastic! And I love that it's right here in town in Virginia Highland! My first experience with the Pregnancy Massage Center was great. So when I had gone several days past my due date, I decided to go back for another massage. I figured a little relaxation wouldn't hurt, and was hoping that maybe someone could manipulate the pressure points I'd heard would jump-start labor. My session was with Renee. She was more than happy to stimulate the labor pressure points since I was 40 weeks and 5 days at that point. She also gave me a very relaxing massage and I felt great when I left. About an hour after I got home from the massage, my water broke. Within 30 minutes after that, my labor started. So not only did I get to relax before meeting my baby, I didn't have to wait too long! I searched online for someplace, anyplace, a place that could help me. At 33 weeks I had the worst back pain on my left side that I started limping. My OB gave me Flexiril but I didn't feel comfortable taking it. The week I was due my doctor tried to force me into a C-Section which put me into hysterics. What's a dude doing writing a review for PMC, you ask? Simple! I bought my wife a massage class. Really, the class was for me so that I could help my Acelyn B. Gents, do the right thing and book one of these for that lovely lady in your life carrying your child. Amy was great! She was very thorough & excited to teach me some moves to help get the kinks out of my wife's hardworking muscles. She delivered a very personal class that allowed me to learn some massage techniques so that Acelyn could take advantage of having a "personal masseuse" around. Meanwhile, the preggo was lying on her side which, by her words, was a lot more comfortable than she'd imagine. They really thought it through at PMC to ensure comfort and relaxation for moms-to-be. After our massage technique session, we went into some pressure relief moves for when d(elivery)-day comes. Thanks to Amy's guidance, I feel A LOT more prepared to actual be useful in the delivery. What's the point in having voicemail and promising your customers you will get back to them when you never do? My husband and I left voicemails multiple times and never received a call back! EDIT: In a timespan of a couple of weeks of me trying to contact them and waiting for a response each time, they're telling me I "might" have had the wrong number. That's hilarious. I gave them plenty of time for a call back and definitely do not have the wrong number as your voicemail introduction clearly states your business and directions. But thank you, I found another place where they value me more. EDIT 2: Instead of accepting their part, all they are doing is trying to confuse the situation and review even more. They are trying to blame everything/me. And as a business owner that does not look good. I guess them not calling me back is a blessing in disguise. I live in Atlanta so I will call the Atlanta number! Confusing the review further by saying that she has had the phone all last week when I have not been calling them this week. I've been to the Pregnancy Massage Center twice - once for a massage (when I was about 36 weeks) and once for the couples class on "Pregnancy Massage and Labor Support" - and had a great experience both times. First, I'll say that I love their website - it's super easy to set up an appointment online, and they generally had plenty of availability (particularly if you're able to do an appointment during the day). They're also (perhaps not surprisingly) very accommodating to the fact that you're pregnant and may have plans that change (particularly if you go into labor), and that's clear in their cancellation policies listed online. The understanding/ accommodating aspect is definitely something that you notice throughout the experience - they always seem to have water on hand when you need it (since I got pregnant, I'm *always* thirsty), and they're completely understanding of the need for frequent restroom breaks (both times I felt comfortable taking a pause in the appointment for this purpose). And, of course, they have a special set-up on all of the tables to allow you to get a good massage while resting comfortably on your side. My first appointment (at about 36 weeks) was with Lindsey, and I was very happy with my massage. It was relaxing, and I felt confident in her knowledge and experience in terms of prenatal massage. My second visit (at about 38 weeks and with my husband there also) was with Tara for the "Pregnancy Massage and Labor Support" class. The class was great! She started by chatting with us about our birth plans (they tailor the class to what you need/ are most interested in, which is a great way to start). Tara is both a massage therapist at the pregnancy massage center and a doula, so she also had great insight into which things are most useful. Then, for the first hour or so of the appointment, I was on the massage table, and she taught my husband some basic types of massage (effleurage/stroking, kneading, and circular) and how to do them on the back, legs, and arms - pointing out specific areas that are particularly good for pregnant women. She'd explain and show him what to do, and then he could practice and ask questions (this also meant that the class included a one-hour massage for me - yay!). The last half hour of class we talked about comfort measures for during labor: the massage is good in general, and can be relaxing between contractions, but she said very few women will want massage during contractions. Instead, they taught us different positions to try while laboring and different counter-pressure techniques that my husband can do to help (these are held for the entire length of the contraction - almost like a 'contraction distraction,' Tara told us). As I already mentioned, I was really happy with the class - I felt like we learned a lot and the process itself was very enjoyable. My husband really liked the class, too - he said it made him feel much more prepared to be a good/ informed supporter during labor. And it was just a really nice thing to do as a couple as we prepare for our new arrival! read more

Tara has a magic touch. She was able to apply very firm pressure in the areas I needed while being delicate and gentle in the areas of concern. What was I thinking? As a mother of 10, I should have BEEN had this massage. I had an appointment today at 10AM and there was available parking in the front (yeah). Once I came into the door, I was greeted by Kathy, who I was scheduled with for my massage. I was able to go release my bladder and immediately began the 1 hour session. She spoke so pleasant and took a few minutes to get to know me. She was very polite and a kindred spirit. The music was awesome and relaxing. Once I hopped my big "pregnant" body onto the table, I almost fell asleep. We were engaged in a mutual conversation and it was very relaxing! She took her TIME hitting the spots I requested and was understanding that I am 40 weeks and 1 day. I paid a tip because she was that great! I also wish I could take her into the labor room with me.. :0) She gave me a friendly hug and wished me well. I hope labor begins within 24 hours as some women claim. If not, I will be back for another massage but to tell the truth I am having "some" Braxton Hicks contractions, just not in real labor yet. Pregnancy Wellness Massage has been the find of a century for me while in my sixth month. I'd tried other prenatal massages before that just used a side pillow and I was still uncomfortable. This place is absolutely wonderful! By far the best place to get a pregnancy and postpartum massage (or just a regular 'ole massage for those of you who are not pregnant)!! OMG WHY DID I WAIT TO DO THIS?!?! Today I had my first prenatal massage with Amy ..... and it was glorious! I am 26 weeks pregnant and for months have been experiencing pain in my hips, butt, and legs. As my belly and ribs expand, I've also been experiencing upper back pain. Amy understood my symptoms and their causes, and knew just how to work with them. She was great about asking about my preferences during my massage and made me incredibly comfortable. The massage table was so comfortable I could've taken a nap, so easily. The massage itself was SO GOOD! I asked her to use a lot of pressure and really work to release some tension and at times it got pretty intense, and Amy kept checking in with me to monitor my pain and comfort level. She also showed me stretches I can do at home to try to loosen my painful muscles and stretch out my hips to prevent and manage pain. The entire experience at The Pregnancy Massage Center was wonderful, from beginning to end. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out, especially if you are pregnant and in any discomfort.
