I have a bad habit of putting up with my hair until I reach a "Get it cut NOW!" place, and I found Jamie while determinedly searching for someone who had availability immediately after my yoga class. I could've ended up at Supercuts under those circumstances, but Jamie must've had a cancellation because she had one open appointment yesterday afternoon. (PS: I love being able to schedule online!) As soon as I entered the salon (which is beautiful, by the way), Jamie warmly greeted me at the door; she has an amazing, positive energy, and I trusted her with my locks right away. We talked about what I wanted (non-grandma, low maintenance, incorporate my wacky inelegant natural wave, a hint of edginess so I can trick people into thinking I'm cool and stylish, etc.) and looked at some pictures together, and I could tell she "got me." After a shampoo and fabulous head massage, we returned to the chair so she could work her magic. She styled me using just a blow dryer with a diffuser (Noice - thank you for that!), so I knew I wouldn't have to do a lot to maintain it, and when I saw the final product, I knew I'd found my spirit stylist. I. LOVE. MY. HAIR. (And this is not something I say often.) She upped my style game significantly without breaking the bank. (And if you've visited a stylist in Atlanta, you know it can happen!) Her rate is very reasonable when you consider the epic service she provides. Jamie is simply the best stylist I've had in my life! I have been with her consistently for almost 3 years and she has never let me down. My hair naturally is a dark auburn with a good bit of grey, and I could never seem to achieve that perfect platinum blonde that I SO desired with my previous stylist experiences ‍ (in fact, some past experiences had left my hair over-processed and/or it had come out brassy or orange-y on more than one occasion, resulting in a very disappointing experience.) But then, the clouds parted, the sunbeams came out, and Jamie, the good hair fairy came into my life! ‍‍ She came highly recommended and had just moved here from LA, where she started her successful career, so I was hopeful. And, wow, Jamie fixed all the problems created by my former stylist and made me the absolutely perfect platinum blonde I always wanted to be! THE FIRST TIME! (See pics!) Trust me, with hair like mine that is also long and a bit unruly and coarse in texture, in addition to having been overprocessed, this is no small feat! Needless to say I was overjoyed to have found her! And I'd never go to anyone else. Ever. Over the last few years we've tried some fun things too: ~lowlights, which came out perfectly natural looking and added dimension to the pale blonde! ~bangs! I'd never had bangs in my life, and Jamie cuts them perfectly every time. I've been seeing Jamie for over two years now, and will follow her to any salon (she's moved once in this time). I get your typical trim with long layers cut, but somehow other stylists would mess that up. With Jamie, you get consistency. And not just that, but if you only want the slightest trim she will do that for you. That's usually where I am, and I'm okay with leaving some split ends to save length. Last week I got my hair cut with Jamie and specified that I still wanted it long, but wanted all the split ends gone no matter how much she had to cut. She did a fantastic, patient cut that was a mix between dry and wet, and she really got all the split ends, plus added more layers! My hair looked like it was in need of all the masks before, and now one cut later it's still long but looks significantly healthier. I know Jamie does fun, modern cuts too. And the pictures look amazing. But I'm happy I have a stylist I can rely on for consistency with my typical "trims and layers". It's also easy to book online, and while she is busy I've never had to book out weeks or months in advance. She's the best! read more

Jamie is an amazing, talented stylist who saved me during a hair emergency. In preparation for a very important conference, I went to a popular salon to have my strawberry blonde roots touched up. The result was a complete disaster. After 3 attempts to get it right, I was left with Ronald McDonald color hair. I didn't have time to get it properly fixed before I flew out to Atlanta, where I arrived at midnight. When I got to the hotel I frantically contacted salons in the area hoping to get my hair fixed to a non-neon color before the conference began later that day. Out of the kindness of her heart, Jamie responded to my message and offered to come in at 8am on her day off to help me. I was a little scared since I had already trusted my hair to one stylist to disastrous effect. But very quickly I could tell that Jamie was a capable pro who knew exactly what she was doing. And she has an amazingly comforting and sweet personality to go with her talent. She talked me through several options to tame the neon red and made sure that I was comfortable with the plan before going ahead. She even made me coffee and gave me a lovely head massage. Okay--so she is obviously a kind and generous person--but how did my hair turn out?? SOOO awesome. I would have been happy with the rich color she gave me even if I weren't so happy to have the clown hair gone. I got my confidence back, the conference went well, and I'm moving to Atlanta as a result. I'm excited that I will be able to see Jamie regularly and under less stressful circumstances. This was my first time, and had a great experience. Love that I can request appt via Yelp, and Jamie is super responsive. I sent her pics of my hair now and what I wanted, and she made sure to get me the color that I wanted, and cleaned up my cut and split ends, evening everything out. I paid $300 for a rushed haircut and barely there bayalage. I have never written a review for hair but I honestly cannot keep this to myself! I have searched for a hair colourist honestly for the past 15+ years and not one person has met my expectations of what I wanted (yes, I'm picky but I know what I want:)), despite sending photos and being pretty descriptive.
