The crawfish wasn't completely cooked nor was it well seasoned. The price was way too high for the lack of quality of the food.

A colleague's father told us we absolutely had to check out this hole-in-the-wall seafood spot off…read moreEnterprise Blvd, so after a little digging we tracked down Seafood Palace, and he wasn't lying. From the outside, it looks like a rundown strip mall storefront with limited parking, the kind of place you might drive right past. But the lot was packed, and that told us everything we needed to know something good was happening inside. Walking in, we found ourselves in a big, old-school dining room filled with a handful of tables and chairs, every single one occupied. The smell of fresh cooked seafood hit us immediately, and I was hungry before we even sat down. Right by the entrance was a rack of local, hand-painted tourist knick knacks for sale, adding to that authentic, no-frills local charm. A hostess greeted us right away and asked how many were in our party, lucky for us, it was just the two of us, so we didn't have much of a wait. Once seated, our drinks came out shortly after. The menu was refreshingly simple, with just a few special items to choose from which included fresh crab. I headed straight for the grilled section and landed on the grilled fish plate, while my buddy went with the fried fish plate and an order of boudin balls on the side. A fresh salad arrived first, and not long after, our entrees followed. The grilled fish was outstanding, flakes of fresh, moist white fish that practically melted in my mouth like butter. But the real showstopper was the boudin balls, four large ones, about the size of pool balls if not bigger, which we split between us. They had a smoky, perfectly cooked flavor that was so good I made room to finish off more than my share. If you're looking for some of the best seafood in town, you've got to hit Seafood Palace. Don't let the exterior or the location scare you off, inside, it's absolute heaven for your taste buds.

I opted for the Crawfish, and was a amazed of how full of flavor and spicy they were! Some of the best Crawfish I'd had in long time. The server was friendly and attentive, the restaurant was very clean. If you're looking for good seafood, had a good price, eat here!

I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered the Boudin Eggroll Appetizer. It included some Ranch dressing for dipping and the 4 Eggrolls it came with were the largest Boudin Eggrolls I've ever been served. They were also the best tasting. They had just enough cheese to keep them from being too dried out and were tasty. I would order this again if I was in the mood. Now I want to go back to try more things on the menu, but our server never came back to check on us after our order was delivered. I had to work really hard to flag her down to request a to-go box and a long time later to flag her down again to get our ticket and remind her about the to-go box. My advice is to try to get your ticket early if you can.

There's gulf fresh shrimp within 5 minutes of the location. I ate the crawfish Étouffée, It had somewhat of a fishy flavor. You could tell the crawfish were bagged and not fresh. My fries were warm only. I asked where the fish came from, most places advertise catfish now and give you Swai. I wasn't willing to take the chance. Our waitress said it could be a while before she could answer that question. The shrimp order were soft, not firm. You could tell they were cooked in the crawfish boil, and were gritty. We ordered a burger that was mediocre at best. Crawfish order was fine. There are plenty of places around serving fresh local seafood to be eating food sent from Argentina. Save your money and eat somewhere else.

A massive variety of seafood... I want to come back to try the other menu choices…read more The fish tacos were perfect and can be ordered blackened, grilled or fried. I chose a large order of the boiled shrimp appetizer and my husband ordered the fish tacos with charo beans. We shared and it was plenty of food (maybe too much) for lunch. The shrimp was clearly fresh but seasoned with a taste I didn't care for, however my husband liked it fine. I covered up the taste with cocktail sauce. It must be a local preference. Our server was the very best! She gave us great advice on what to order. She was friendly and attentive without being interrupting. Her name is Hillary and she is a real credit to the restaurant.

We gave it a shot when we first moved from the NASA area four years ago, so it was about time. I loved the fact they were open on Memorial Day, and they didn't seem to be too busy. Mostly golfers and their ilk. Our server was Kaitlyn, who was very fast. She reminded me of Mary Lou Retton. Very fast. Almost too fast? I asked a question about the amount of breading in the crab cake, and she said there was none. Seems unlikely, since crab cakes need a binder. I am intolerant of the gluten, so when she said the crab cakes had no binder, I was hesitant. I took the safe road and ordered the cucumber snacker and a boudin ball. My BF ordered a ribeye, and (because he thought he was super hungry), ordered chips and salsa as a starter. Kaitlyn brought out my wine and our chips and salsa straight away. The chips were very stale, the salsa was tasty but a little spicy for my taste. Everything arrived at our table at the same time, even though I ordered two apps as my meal. Kudos to Kaitlyn. The cucumbers were good, especially with the jalapeño ranch. No one can mess up a cucumber, but the jalapeño ranch was tasty. My boudin ball was meh. My BF ordered his ribeye medium temperature, and it arrived rare. Kaitlyn checked in on us a couple of minutes after the food arrived. He told her about the steak and she quickly whisked it away. ~5 minutes later, someone delivered the new steak. My BF enjoyed the new steak, baked potato and salad. When we visited four years ago, we felt rushed. I felt rushed this time as well. Obviously, Tia Juanita's is doing very well. You can't swing a rope without seeing another TJ's in SETX. It's probably just not our jam. I like a nice meal without feeling rushed. I also prefer to eat with a proper fork and knife. I would, however, like for the manager to respectfully respond to negative reviews. They seem to respond to positive reviews only.

The restaurant was decorated as you would expect a good Cajun restaurant to be decorated in. Service was nice and friendly and you order at the register and they bring your food to you. Service was great even after we got our food. A server asked us if we needed refills and if we wanted them in to-go cups, which scored bonus points with me! Here's what I had on this lunch visit: The crawfish pistollette (8/10) which was a small appetizer that was bread with some crawfish etouffee on top. Bread was nicely cooked and the etouffee on top was delicious. Solid starter! The Cajun Cooking Sampler (9/10) - this was a sampler with 3 amazing dishes. I got the shrimp and crab gumbo, which is classic Louisiana gumbo and it was outstanding! The sampler also had a bowl of crawfish etouffee which was good but felt it needed a bit more etoufee to mix with the rice. Lastly, the special of the day was fish courtbouillon which was a fish in tomato based sauce over rice. I really enjoyed this as the fish has a great texture and there was a lot of flavor in the sauce. Overall, solid lunch meal in the $ to $$ range depending on what you order. Recommend you trying it for a great Cajun experience!
