I have been a member of Premier for 35 years. The people on Yelp who wrote poor reviews containing complaints about the personnel are most likely unhappy, grumpy, or paranoid. The staff are all pleasant and competent. The trainers are the same. The restaurant is excellent. Yes, the yearly fee is higher than Planet Fitness, but you get so much more - tennis, swimming, workout classes etc. Don't rely on those poor reviews, the place was great when I first joined and still is! Excellent trainers, but disappointing management for the price. I joined Premier for six months and really enjoyed the trainers and group exercise classes--they're talented, kind, and genuinely invested in their members. Unfortunately, the management side of things was very disorganized, especially given the high membership cost. I was initially signed up by a newer sales associate who forgot to add me to the gym's newsletter. Because of that, I repeatedly missed important updates--I'd drive over only to find my scheduled class had been canceled, with notice sent only through the newsletter I was never on. Despite several requests to be added, nothing changed until the month I canceled my membership--and suddenly the newsletters started arriving. I also joined primarily for access to the group exercise room for personal practice as a former professional dancer. Even though I'm only 30 now, years of intense dance training have left me with arthritis in both ankles, and maintaining my strength and flexibility--especially for pointework--is essential for my physical well-being. I specifically needed a safe, sprung floor and open space to continue that conditioning work, which I was told would be available when I signed up. Later, I learned that members are not allowed in the group exercise room outside of class hours due to theft concerns. When I asked about possible solutions, such as signing a waiver, the manager dismissed my request and told me I should go elsewhere--even though I was not only a paying member but also investing in their higher-priced personal training sessions at about $100 each, on top of a $90 monthly membership (discounted for being under 30 at the time). The least I deserved was to have my unique needs acknowledged, not brushed off. On a positive note, the cycling room was a great perk--I appreciated being able to use the spin bikes even when no class was in session. I suppose they aren't as concerned about people stealing bikes as they are about weights and accessories from the group exercise studio. In the end, I did go elsewhere--I joined New York Sports Club in Croton, which has a far more advanced app and digital system that keeps members informed about schedules and updates. I haven't had any of the same communication issues I experienced at Premier, and with its younger, more diverse clientele, it's been a much better fit for me personally. Premier could be a great choice if you have kids and plan to use all of its features--the pool, tennis courts, and family amenities--but if you're simply looking for reliable access to workout space, group classes, or standard gym equipment, there are more affordable and better-managed options. At its current price point, the disorganization, lack of flexibility, and outdated 1970s-style facilities make it difficult to recommend. read more

I have been a member of this gym for 5 years now. Today I went in to bring a guest and when I checked in the shorter brunette woman was extremely rude to me. She pointed her finger at me and goes "hold on" in the nastiest tone. I decided to leave because I feel as if it is not acceptable to someone who pays a lot to be a part of this gym. Then she proceeded to scream at my guest saying "Well are you going to check in" repeatedly, very rudely. This was disgusting. read more

This review covers the pool and restaurant from the perspective of a guest, not a member. If accompanied by a member (allowed one guest) $15 gets you a day pass. The pool is clean and offers plenty of seating, both shaded (canopy) and full sun. Considering how crowded it can be if seated to capacity, it is smallish. There is no diving, no jumping in - too shallow - and there are no lap lanes. There is a kiddie pool available as well, with a small playground. But if the kiddie pool is closed (often the case) everyone is in the main pool...no real space to swim. The staff does a great job of keeping things calm, reducing horseplay and addressing safety concerns. A big plus is the restaurant/bar which offers a terrific selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and grill fare, including a number of healthy choices. Having sampled a few, I can say the quality is top notch. Service is excellent. The restaurant also offers beer and mix drinks, reasonably priced. All makes for a nice spot to chill, tan, read or cool off. read more

Worst lifeguards ever! I got bullied by a man in the pool! A 5 minute quarrel took place in the water and the lifeguard on duty and swimming instructor who were facing us claimed they never noticed, and I was yelling loud. Last summer there were 5 unruly kids in the outdoor pool, one of them kicked me hard. The mother was texting and did not notice. The lifeguards were watching but said nothing to curb their horseplay. I notified a manager and the general manager about these incidents, nothing changed. Horrible, horrible management and lifeguards! read more

So I just joined this gym and so far so good. It isn't incredibly packed and the machines etc. are clean and new. It has an outdoor pool and grill/bar which is cool for the summer. I mostly though take the classes. So far, they are just okay. The instructors aren't that amazing compared to any other gyms like NYSC. Spin classes are hit or miss. One instructor who teaches Tuesday evening spin, is plain awful. She talks through out the whole class and critiques you, calling you out in the middle of class...which is really weird and uncalled for...ive seen her do it to other people, and myself. Her music is slow and makes you literally want to fall asleep. She also teaches some other classes there, so beware. Her name begins with a T. I don't want to say it on here, but avoid her classes if possible. Aside from her, the others are pretty good. For the price, it's okay. I'm not completely thrilled but it's close to home and better than NYSC. read more

I don't usually do these but I must admit that the biggest reason why I go to this gym is for the fun classes taught by Krishna. Whether it be Zumba, or fine tuning my Latin dancing skills, she always makes every class worth my drive (I wish I lived closer, I'd be there more often.) her high energy and positive vibes resonates throughout the class, and motivate everybody to do their best. She's an awesome instructor and quite an asset to the gym! read more

Friendly staff, great service, housekeeping excellent. Pool area and hot tub very clean. Lap pool and a shallow pool plus hot tub in the same area. I have been a swimmer and I miss going there. Had to relocate but going back. It's worth the travel and time. Recommend highly. read more

I started going here after my previous gym closed. For the most part, I like it here. They have a lot to offer: two indoor pools, tennis courts, racquetball courts, basketball courts, a crossfit room, an OK size weight room, sauna, and steam room. Not to mention, a yummy restaurant and showers. You can literally stay here all day! At times, it can be crowded and lacking in equipment, especially in the weight room, but they really try to please everyone. They even bought us new ProLoc collars! It makes racking and unracking plates way easier. I also hear they plan on buying more squat racks. I love the variety of things to do while there and meeting new members. Oh, and it's very clean! Their staff keeps that place tidy! I always see someone mopping or cleaning. Best of all, everyone reracks their weights! Good etiquette to follow! read more

The trainers have worked with my son who is a wrestler from Gilbert and have made it possible for him to improve. We don't get to go as much as we would like to but given the chance we would go more often! Please note this club is for Families and lots of them!! Pool is packed and you are unable to get either a lounge chair or near the actual pool if you arrive after 11:00AM The tennis program is pretty non existent. The two out door courts were removed and there are three indoor courts. There is no ventilation or air circulation - very uncomfortable The place could use a little refreshing. A little paint would go a long way The driveway is dangerous. Watch out when the kids get out swim lessons - the driveway is an insane!! Logically, I knew there them must be a separate membership for use of the pools without the fitness center. No such membership exists. Beware of incomprehensible policies. read more

My complex pool is not open this year, so I was looking for a pool to sign up to. I used to work at Premier Athletic Club, so I said why not, maybe do a membership and see how it goes. My husband and I signed up for the summer. Here are my takeaways: The club is VERY pricey. For people under 29 and over 60, they give a small small discount. But the rest, you have a high monthly payment. I reached out to member services and asked for a tour of the outdoor pool since it was June and my membership would be for the summer (July-Sept). This was before I had decided if I wanted to have a membership. And the membership woman did not show us the outside, she only showed us pictures. I used to work there, so I knew of the outdoor pool but had never been. So we said yes, let's do it. If you are going to use the facility every single day, then do it, if not, it's not worth it. The sand bar is nice to have, but the food takes so long to make. And every single time I've gone, they are either out of ice cream or they are out of something. It was not a good experience. Also, I recommended my mom to the club. And my mom signed up for a year membership. As a thank you, they gave me a gift card to the restaurant Valerios. Which is NOT even open this summer. And so they gave me a thank you, to a restaurant that I can't even go to because my membership ends in September and the restaurant opens after this. I did not even get a discount on my membership. So basically recommending someone gets them more money but does not benefit the member who recommended someone. Parking is very tight, it's better to go on off hours. The pools are small, so once it's crowded on weekends, it's better to come back on an off time. Or else there's no parking or chairs available. The water instructors are okay, sometimes they are good and some are bad. It's a hit or miss. Swim lesson are very expensive too. After a summer of membership, I doubt I will sign up again. read more

I train twice a week with Tracy, she's absolutely the best trainer ever. The exercises we do work multiple muscles simultaneously. I've seen incredible results with just a few workouts already. Seeing my body evolve has been amazing. She's funny yet motivating . I look forward to my training sessions with her. The facility is very well equipped. The bathrooms are always clean. Two of my children were on swim team for a year. There was ZERO communication when it was cancelled or when it was starting up again. ZERO. We missed the first week. And front desk REFUSED to do ANYTHING about it. The "offer" was to do makeups instead of two times a week THREE (way too much for a child - don't do it when a child is sick - certainly not PUNISHING my child because the staff SCREWED UP with NO apologies.)
