The owner Frank is a gem, from day 1 he and his wife have always been supportive and always over deliver to their members. This gym is a place where people of all ages, fitness levels and body types get together to workout. I love the attitude and support of the community. I remember my first few months just wanting to stick to myself and get in and get out but it's just impossible! The staff is super helpful, friendly and they really genuinely make you believe that anyone can do it! But not in just a pipe dream but reality. I used to run a 14 minute mile in now down to under 9! If you have seen a Crossfit video, meme, joke and roll your eyes at the thought of Crossfit and the "Bro" culture that comes it it don't worry this place is not that. Coaches Lara, Taylor, Lindsay, Alex and Tyrone are fantastic, knowledgeable and inspirational. My surgeon cleared me to begin working with a personal trainer at four weeks post-op, and since I had dropped in a few classes with IFA last Spring, I knew where to go. Saro listened to my doctor's orders/restrictions and focused on helping me stabilize my core muscles at first while (not so subtly) teaching me solid long term lifestyle habits to make the effects of this surgery count for the long haul. I started seeing him once a week in September and have had 12 personal training sessions. In that time my endurance has shot threw the roof, I can almost squat my max and I can do (assisted) pull ups for the first time in my life!! (My butt also looks great ) Most importantly, I feel like I am in the best shape of my life. I have slowly increased to 6 training days a week, varying my workouts. I could not have gotten here so quickly or been so strong without the instruction of the coaches at IFA. I've started integrating into the classes now that I have recovered from the surgery and I really feel like part of a team. Anyone in the Rockland Area looking for a team environment where you will be challenged at a level customized to you, should give IFA a shot. The results speak for themselves.

My abs were sore, my arms were sore, and my legs were sore! This class is challenging, but FUN! I never found myself staring at the clock counting down the minutes -- and I didn't dread my next visit either, it's hard but doable. The class is a combination of floor exercises, and the Skiers Edge machine. You rotate in a circuit between the different exercises. I'm not a skier but found I really enjoyed the skiers edge machine and it helped me activate rarely used leg and glute muscles. Shred is new to the fitness scene so they have some great introductory offers. Absolutely worth a try, they found a loyal customer in me!
