This place is proof that you don't need to sell organs on the black market to get a knockout haircut. It's also small if you blink, you'll miss it. Perhaps that's why it's not immensely popular. I came in here for a trim since it had such great reviews here on yelp. I asked for Ann. She's this adorable little lady, and she knows hair. She did everything I asked her to, and didn't rush through it at all. One of my shoulders is a bit higher than the other, and I didn't end up with a lopsided haircut. She also didn't push a lot of hair product that I don't need on me. Brownie points for that. I got a trim and a blowout for $25. It was a great deal. I was so impressed with the job she did on my hair, I actually sent my mother to see her when she came to visit and needed to get her hair done. She loves her haircut too! read more

After living in New York City for the last few years I gave up on not paying a fortune for an OK cut. Don't get me wrong you can get great cuts for north of $35 at a salon. The Barbers will save your neck and leave you covered in hair and charge $25 plus tip A year ago I went to Ann and like what she did. Honestly I and almost forgot about her. Normally I get cleaned up prior to my visit home. This wasn't the case this time, and randomly Mom pointed me in the direction of Ann. She quickly navigated my two cowlicks gave me a great cut. Good cuts twice over a year period not that's consistency. Now when I plan to visit Mom I'll hold off on getting it cut until I come back to Concord. What struck me funny is a 20 something girl came in for some color. She was out of the color that she wanted and asked about others. Ann was honest and said they won't look right with your hair. I usually go to the Paul Mitchell school to thin out the mop, but they were closed for two days for a conference. I'm a mostly patient gal, but the minute the hair tickles the ears..RED ALERT!! Woo-oop! Woo-oop! So I called around and found this little spot off of Todos Santos in my new hipster home of Concord, and I walked in and was quite happy with the results. I was sad to miss out on the throbbing techno-industrial beehive that is Paul Mitchell, kind of like going to spin class without sweating, but Ann was good in a pinch. She cut it exactly as I wanted. Don't come here if you're looking for a woman's short/cropped/pixie cut. I came in with a few, cute reference photos. I came out looking like Asian Hillary Clinton. We went back and forth politely for a bit because the haircut looked so different from what I wanted, but the haircut wasn't getting any better. I feel terrible writing this review because the woman cutting my hair was so kind. But I'm still upset days later because I have no choice but to walk around with my hair looking the worst it has ever looked until it can grow back out. Great value for the price! $14 for a woman's cut...I think $11 for a men's. Ann does a great job. She is quick and gives a quality cut. I've been going to Ann for the last year and haven't had a bad haircut yet. Every time she suggests a slightly different cut after showing you what it will look like in a picture. There is another stylist there too but I haven't been to her - she seems to do more of the men's cuts and has a lot of regulars as well. Make an appointment. Even with an appointment I usually have to wait. It can be hard to find street parking depending on the time of day. And don't expect anything special with the decor or atmosphere...this is a very simple, basic place. read more

Since it was my first time being there and she did a good job cutting my hair. since my hair grow in very weird directions and a lot of barbershops that I went to couldn't get the hair right. Went and got a quickie haircut during my lunch. I called ahead and made an appointment, though when I got there it was empty at first. Haircut was only $19 (including a blow dry I requested for) and she cut off A LOT of hair. Ann cut my hair the way I wanted it done (with layers galore), and she did an excellent job of making sure I was happy with it. And to think, I hit up a hair salon on Port Chicago not even 2 months ago...paid $40 and had my sister tell me my haircut looked like crap! Men's haircut is $11 here. I usually get my hair cut in Oakland but when I don't have time I come here because it's close to home. I've never had to wait very long. The haircut is also very quick, under ten minutes. It's not the best haircut I've had but it will do. read more

After reading some reviews, I decided to give Premier Cuts a try since all I'm looking for is to fix my hair (after cutting it myself) and for some long layering. Overall, the job was well done! Ann was only working today but she was really nice and made me feel comfortable. She had to pause here and there to pick up the phone to schedule some people but I was okay with it. It seemed to be a slow day but her talking to me just made the trip and wait worth it. I only paid $14 for the layering and fringe for my bangs, which was AWESOME. A great price for a great cut. I've been in desperate need of a haircut for awhile now, but having just moved to the area, I had no idea who or where to go to. So I jumped on yelp and found this place. I walked in this morning not long after opening and asked if Ann (who's the owner I found out) was able to cut my hair. At first she asked if I wanted an appointment for later but I asked if she was able to do it now. She said yes and then proceeded to ask what I wanted done. I had extremely long hair and I was just over it so I asked if she could cut it to a little passed my shoulders. She agreed that it was a good length for me and suggested a V layer shape. She was very fast and she did an awesome job. She noticed my hair was quite fine and flat so she added layers to give me some volume. I paid $18 and I can honestly say it was one of the best cuts I have ever gotten! I'd highly recommend coming here for a haircut. read more

Maybe I'm just too picky. Maybe I was too vague. I came in with an appointment and I still had to wait about 10 minutes. It's fine, I'm fine with waiting, there were only two women cutting today and I made an appointment with Ann. All i wanted was to cut off about 4 in and make lots of layers...it can't go wrong...right? She seemed kinda rushed, my haircut took less than 20 minutes. I'm not crazy about it but I don't hate it. It's not bad for the price (16 inc. tip), but the bottom layer just seems flat. The layers are supposed to blend together and you see the initial layers and then you just see the bottom layer, which almost looks like she cut it straight through. Maybe it'll look different after I wash it but i doubt it. I just think if she spent a little more time layering it, it would've looked much nicer. read more

The only reason that I came here was they open on Mondays. Ninety-five percent of hair salons are closed on Mondays. So they're smart to open on Monday to get businesses like myself. This place is small, only two stations and two stylists on staff. The result is long wait or they don't end up doing much of a good job because there are 3 other people waiting on the couch staring at you and the stylist. Julia is amazing at cutting hair. She takes her time and is patient with each process. I've always gone to high end fancy shops and left fairly satisfied. Julia does an even better job than the upscale shops in the area at a quarter of the price.
