I've been a patient of Dr Lu's for many years and have always had a great experience with her. I was so sad when I heard she was leaving Boston and moving to Texas. :`( Dr Lu was always gentle. I didn't come from a medical or dental background, so some things definitely go over my head, I appreciate when Dr Lu takes her time to explain all my options in detail. Her and her staff demonstrates professionalism and is always friendly too. Sometimes there's a little bit of a wait at the office but it was well worth it. We used to have excellent service at this dental clinic with Dr. Lu. We have been their customers since we moved here to Texas almost three years ago. However, lately we have some frustrations regarding our bills. My wife was given a quote regarding her implant last year. She did not have it done due to the amount needed. Early this year, she was given another quote since she was told that the tooth beside here vacant tooth might be the cause for her toothache as it started to lean towards it. However, because it was a necessity and due to the participation of the insurance as expressed in the quote, my wife paid the total amount of the procedure even though it has yet to be done January 20 in the amount of $1291.50 thinking that it is all that we have to pay. Then she was scheduled for the molding of the implant after a week or two. She went to the cashier to ask if there is any patient responsibility she has to pay and was said she's good. Then she got a call for about three weeks so that it will now be installed however she went there 1 week after the call due to the availability of her time. She again went back to the cashier to ask if she must pay anything but was told she is good. Then March came and we received a bill that the insurance has paid their share and we must pay $1185.20. We were so shocked on how big the balance is. We tried to call but no one responded so we left a voicemail. Perhaps, of the COVID lock downs. We understand. Then came Monday of this week; since we did not expect the call, we were not able to pick up. Yesterday we called back, no one answered but left a voicemail. Earlier today, they called, and I picked up. I asked them why? The person told me that the insurance did not cover a certain amount because the lost teeth that had the bridge on had been extracted long before. The insurance only covers if the tooth was extracted by the time we are in that insurance. With this situation, we told them that it was not our fault since they are the only one who knows about the policies of the insurances and they are even network with that insurance. If there must be somebody to pay for this, it would be the cashier of this dental clinic or the insurance agent whom the cashier happens to talk or quote with. Else they will forego this bill since this is clearly not the patient's fault and they always have buffer funds to fill in with. If this is the case, any clinic can make these quotes just to have the procedure done especially if it entails a lot of money neglecting their patients. We have been good patients to them, and we are paying our bills on time despite we need to spend our money on some other expenses. We even have just spent almost $3000 for the procedure of our 3-year-old baby who was referred by this clinic to look for a child dentist due to her cavities but was advised to have her teeth crowned through a hospital procedure by the child dentist. However, they really want us to pay for it and the least they can do is giving us a 30% discount in which we will still pay $800.00 and that still is a lot. If we could have known that this is going to happen to us, then we would not have the procedure done. We verified this matter with the insurance, and they said that the clinic should have discussed or noted with them about when the tooth was extracted so that they were able to give the right estimate or whether they cover them or not. So, with this, we are left still hanging in the air and we are looking forward to move up from this if this will not be settled. read more

I strongly believe that all these ratings are done by a family member of the company or are the employees themselves posing as a patient because the service my mother got today was ridiculous. This office is greedy and only cares about money. My mother was a new pt and scheduled an appointment for a cleaning. They tell her to fill out paperwork stating that if she doesn't call 24 hrs ahead of her appt to cancel it that they will charge the insurance even if she didn't go. Another was, that they charge $100 if the visit is more than an hr and $200 for more. She then gets X-rays done as they are supposed to do, explains she has discomfort to a certain tooth and then the dentist explains to her on how she needs filling on OTHER teeth that had abrasions not even cavities.. Paying no attention the the tooth she told them about. She waits forever in the room for them to walk her out two hours later giving her an estimate of the payment plan for the fillings. She asks the receptionist why she hadn't gotten her cleaning done and the receptionist says, "oh? You wanted a cleaning? I'll schedule you for next week." My mother stated that that was the main reason why she went but the receptionist stated, "That's not how the dentist does their work here. We do it different. First we will start off with the plan they made for you, but the dentist doesn't like to do everything at once. Only half will be done one visit, then the other half at another visit." Why? So they can charge the insurance multiple visits to benefit them?! I then called the office, asked the receptionist on how they provided services at there office and she said, "if you schedule for a cleaning, you get a cleaning, if you schedule for a procedure you get the procedure done." I asked them why didn't my mother get her cleaning done? If that was why she went. She asked the name of the pt and then stated it was due to the fact that she was a new patient and they needed to determine what type of cleaning she would need. And they realized it was a simple cleaning so she'd get one next week. I said, "why does she need to wait a week for SIMPLE cleaning when it should've been done that day." The receptionist said, "it was because they didn't know what cleaning she would need." I told her, "you just said it was a simple cleaning how long does your hygienist do their cleanings?!" She said, "it takes them 40-45 minutes to do a cleaning." I asked her, "what the heck do they do, I've never seen a hygienist take that long doing a cleaning. She said, "they clean thoroughly". I said, "sweetie, I used to work at a dental office. There's no way a hygienist takes that long cleaning. Now if it was for periodontal disease then that's a different story. But you said she needed a simple cleaning which should've been done that day!" She responded with, "oh, it's because we didn't have time." So this office scheduled a pt for a cleaning had them wait two hours for them to ONLY take X-rays, get a statement of what needs to be and what it will cost but paid no attention to the fact of the main reason why they went in for. And then to say "they didn't have time for her cleaning." That office not only wasted our time with all their incompetence but also has no intention of caring for their pts. They only want to do what's best for them and how to get the insurance to pay. I hope everyone reads this and never goes to your office because the only thing that will happen is that they will leave disappointed and their time wasted. I only gave them one star because I had too but they don't even deserve that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE. read more
