I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kehoe, who seems to treat every appointment as if it were her only appointment for the day, is terrific at explaining any testing done, and the results of said tests, and ALWAYS has a great attitude! Not only is she a terrific optometrist, she is also a lovely person. Jana is also very good with taking her time to make sure you are 100% happy with your choice of frames and how they fit your face. (I should have listened to her first recommendation, which would have saved me the trip back to exchange MY choice for hers and to admit that she was right, LOL!) Bad-mouthing competitors is simply unprofessional. Even though my insurance plan provides a pair of progressive lenses via Warby Parker for a $25 co-pay ($375/retail value) the optometrist was ominously admonitory about doing business with them - not wanting me to leave the premises of Premier Eye Center without purchasing a pair. Demonstrating your own strengths is far more effective. But when you start calling your own products "Warby killers" the standard of comparison is clear. And I'm quite satisfied with my new Warby Parker glasses. BTW Warby Parker is located in the Boca Town Center Mall about a 6 minute drive away from the office. read more

The staff was attentive and helpful. Dr. Kehoe was excellent and very knowledgeable. One of the best eye doctor visits I have ever had.

They asked over $200 for a simple pair of glass +0.75 both sides. The next day they called back & asked us to pay another $190 because of antiglare. Over $400 for a pair of glass without a frame. Based on inconsistent & overpriced, we decided not to fill the glasses there. Jana said they'll issue the check on the same day & we'll receive it in 7-10 days by mail. After 23 days later, we haven't received any checks or calls from them. We called & Sarah who said she was the manager of the clinic told us: "we are lucky to have the refund & Jana was no longer working there". She kept saying the check is in the mail. What kind of business is this? After 23 days, the check is still in the mail? or someone didn't do their job & the manager didn't know what to do. You need to hire a new manager that know how to get the job done. read more

Dr. Kehoe has given me the best vision I've ever had with glasses. I was told by other optometrists that the mediocre vision I had was the best they could do. But Dr. Kehoe proved them wrong. And the optician Fanny is a miracle worker. Not only was she able to slim the edges of the thick lenses that I wore but she also was able to replace a broken temple from my sunglasses. I have been going for my annual eye exam for about 3 years in the Boca office. The 2 eye doctors Dr. Steve Bussa and Dr. Alexandra Kehoe, are friendly, personal & professional. They are both board certified in their field which is very important to me. The front staff and technicians are also friendly and precessional. I value the high tech optical equipment used in evaluating your eyes. I, also, like having the patient portal for easy online access to my records. read more

$145 no insurance, glasses check-up (in-case you need to know!) Terrible, terrible service and atmosphere. Heads up: the guy at the front desk speaks way too fast and couldn't care less about trying to schedule a date that works for you. Finally quit on this office after only going there because they accepted my old insurance. The staff has the biggest attitude. They'll coerce you into purchasing a new pair of glasses and discourage you from getting a second opinion, just to be sure. They seriously don't even ask you if you're interested or comfortable with purchasing a new pair -- they just lead you into another room and start throwing all these insane numbers at you for which glasses to buy from them ASAP. Sure, it's a business. Pretty gross service, though, if you ask me. Go somewhere cheaper that'll give you a prescription that you can take to a Costco or LensCrafters, or a place that'll let you make decisions at your own pace and discretion. Good luck! xx read more

I had to go here as it was the closest place that my insurance took. First, I make appointments in the morning so that I can avoid delays that occur during the day, so I had a 10am. I showed up a couple of minutes early as a courtesy to ensure everything can be done without delay. Get the papers done, then I wait. And wait. And wait. It's not that there's a flurry of activity, but finally at 10:45 I'm called in, and some assistant does some preliminaries. See the doc and get a usual exam - eyesight getting better (!), and nothing unusual. So they take me into another room and show me the frames and lenses. I see a frame I like for $375, with my $200 insurance $175. The "highly recommended" lenses with lots of flowery terms are $395, for a total of almost $600. I tell them I'll look around. I go back home and look up the frames, and 1- they're discontinued (no big deal), and 2- everyone sells them for $175. Look, I know that there's an overhead to running a brick and mortar store, but really? Found essentially the same frame at Costco (yes, Costco), and with lenses after insurance $124. If they'd had some respect for my time, I would have overlooked, but they didn't, and the prices for glasses are ridiculous. I'll find someone else next time. read more

I love coming here. Everyone is super helpful and really friendly. It feels like a family environment and the staff plays team really well together! During the choosing of my glasses I felt like a glasses model, the gentleman took his time with me, and called in some of the girls for feedback on what looks best with my face. Eye exam on Jan 11. Just hung up after my second follow up call on the whereabouts of my glasses with its "special effects" and low and behold, they're at the office. Last call abruptly ended with "we'll call you when they arrive" without looking to see if they were there. This time she said it's because in the system I've requested no texts. Not sure why that shows, but then pick up the phone and call. I will say staff/Dr is always friendly, but I do feel they work the insurance and place the payment on the patient. These people are snakes! I went in for a simple prescription exam covered by my VSP and they took the liberty of also billing my medical insurance for two different eye exams. None of which I ever consented to. Of course, they do this by putting a sneaky clause in the new patient paperwork they make you sign that says they reserve the right to treat you for whatever they deem necessary for the sake of "your well being" (Or at least that's what the not so friendly old woman at the counter told me). After an awful experience with an optical store 2 years ago, I've been hesitant to go somewhere for contacts in fear no place would fit me into the right contacts. This place was amazing! Great customer service and they answered all of my questions. The eye exams don't include the puff of air or dilation which is uncomfortable and inconvenient. They spent their time teaching me how to take them in and out. I decided to order contacts after trails they gave me and it actually showed up at my door the next day. Well I'm currently looking for a new dr although I use to like this one but this is the second time they have messed up on my insurance and always say it's my fault because it's my responsibility to double check they have it after I have already provided it. I was upset that they billed my health insurance company and they already know I have vsp insurance they bill to. So I always end up paying out of pocket and having to wait months for my insurance to reimburse me back . They have a good selection of name brand eyewear and their location looks pretty decent. It just sucks that the girls in the front desk can't ever get your information right and when it's their mistake it's still your fault . read more

The staff overall was great, Except I felt they were a money grab. I asked for lenses for frames I already had and they wanted to charge me $240. I went to Lens Crafters and they charged me $80. I wanted to buy a box of contacts and they wanted to charge me $62 when the 1800 CONTACTS charged me $33. Some one was suppose to call me for a price match but never got back to me. I understand Boca is a wealthy area, but something has got to give. Poor communication, I recommend looking elsewhere for your eye care. read more

I was given the wrong prescription. I had my glasses made somewhere else and when I picked them up there was definitely something off. I called Premier Eye Center's office and was told to bring them in and meet with Optician before the Dr. would see me. I met with her and she told me that they made the glasses wrong that the prescription was not what they gave me. She seemed very annoyed that I went somewhere else to have the glasses made and muttered something under her breath. I had my last pair made by her and there was nothing but problems so I decided to have them done elsewhere. I had Cohen Optical, that made them call three times and I called once to speak with the Optician and she would not take or return the phone calls. I ended up going to another Dr. and it was in fact that the prescription was wrong. They made me the correct glasses and I can see perfectly now. I had such a bad experience with the optician there I can no longer give them my business. read more

My interactions with the doctors are pleasant, however, the staff is often dismissive, untruthful, and confusing. Be sure to double check to ensure the office accepts your insurance, and inquire about co-pay payment prior to your appointment. Numerous times, the staff prohibited me from speaking to or seeing the doctor, and instead wanted to me to do what they asked completely out of my comfort level. The website said it takes my insurance but they don't. I paid for my exam. After the eye exam, I also paid for a bifocal contact lens exam, which they didn't have to do any more test on my eyes, just review my chart and give me the lenses to try. When I called because the lenses didn't work for me (blurry, headache), they keep telling I have to try all the lenses they gave me. They also wanted to charge me $49 for my last visit. When I ask why, they wanted to count the time the doctor review my chart as a follow up exam. I asked to speak to the doctor and Anita, the office manager said "You don't talk to the doctor; you talk to me. Other patients only try 1 times and you already tried 5 times". She took back the contact lenses the doctor gave me to try and said "That is it, you are not trying these lenses." I refused to talk to her, I waited to talk to the doctor and finally, we agreed that I would pay $49 and that amount would count toward my contact lenses purchase. Later, I asked about the credit toward my lenses purchase, they said no credit. I requested them to pay me back $49, I haven't heard from them, so I dispute the charge with my credit card company. read more

I can't say enough how wonderful Dr. Alex is with children. Almost our whole family has gone for eye exams and glasses. She really knew how to talk and interact with my 3 year old. Went here for the first time and loved the experience. I have had a retinal detachment at a young age and value my eyes. They had equipment that was able to see my entire retina and they were very thorough. They had a large selection of frames and were able to get me super thin lenses even though I am a -6.00 in one eye. Would definitely recommend them! read more

I feel the Doctors are wonderful in this office, but the staff give a whole new meaning to costumer service. I'm currently looking for a new doctor although I use to like this one but this is the second time in two years just to get my contact corrected to the proper ones that I could wear. I have paid out of pocket over $1020.00 and both of my insurance companies were billed unknown amounts. I have two insurance coverage they billed both last yea,r but this year they don't have the time to look up the second dairy one.They said it's my fault because it's my responsibility to double check they have it after I have already provided it, nothing has changed. I was upset that this is the second year and I have not been able to wear a pair of the contacts yet. I returned the contacts from last year, they would only take 2 boxes because I opened the other two boxes to try to wear a pair upon arrival and could not see correctly with them. They gave me a credit for to boxes of $132 in which I tried using for this year. They told me that the contact were corrected and a new type of upgraded lenses used. I went to reorder the new lenses ordered by the Doctor to find out that I will still be out of pocket with the credit applied of $132 the insurance payment of $105. I still had to pay out of pocket another $376 to get my year supply of contacts. I refused and took the option of getting my credit from the non used contacts returned from last year of $132 and the $105 insurance coverage and I still had to pay out of $86 for 6 pair of contacts for each eye.They were shipped to my home a month later. When I open the box the were still the same name brand of contact from the ordinal one from the year, but the Rx changed. Its just son sad that this office is more interested in over billing insurance companies and taking cash money out their customers pockets than making sure that the best interest of customers vision. I called several places looking for someone that took my insurance. I needed a covered eye exam. When I got to my appointment there was this sneaky document I was asked to sign that of course was not explained until I asked. Basically, it said we are going to charge you $49 for a covered eye exam that should be $0 because we do it this special way. It's not even that I would have minded really, had I been told three weeks ago when I made the appointment about the charge. But I wasn't, it was just left up to me to figure out. Plus, they called and asked if I would like to come in earlier. A 2:45 was available. I still had not been seen when I walked out at 3:25. Why change my appointment if you can't see me or are just going to take walk-ins ahead of me? Do yourself a favor...don't go here. read more

Beware. Do not go to this provider. When I made an appointment, I asked explicit questions about what my charges/co-pay would be. When I showed up for the appointment, everything changed. It begins when an form is inserted into your new patient info package to steer you to a $49 upcharge for the exam. Then I was told that my $300 insurance credit for glasses is only for frames. (My insurance provider said my benefit covers lenses and frames, and provided me this info in writing.) Premier seems only interested in billing as much as they can get, and hope to disregard the insurance. I attempted to get Premier Eye Center to honor my insurance benefit, but they repeatedly failed to return my calls. Just don't go. read more

In response to the comment posted by Steve B. of Premier Eye Center of Boca Raton: In reference to your item # 1- The prescription of the outside ophthalmologist was not incorrect but rather not understood by Premier Eye Care. 2- Premier care never contacted the ophthalmologist. I did myself and they wrote the prescription in a way Premier would understand. I e-mailed that prescription to Premier. 3-We never received from Premier "written letters" neither "repeated attempts via telephone" advising us that the glasses"were ready for pick up for more than 5 months". We received a single phone call and we went immediately to Premier to pick up the re-done glasses, which then gave us the problems we relate on our review. After we return the re-done glasses that we could not use, Premier never contacted us back a single time. 4-"We also offered you a full refund..." - Premier Eye care never offered a full refund to us. As we explained in our review Premier Eye care fought with us and with Bank of America disputing our charge back claim for $ 443.00 and $ 50.00. If your item 4 statement was correct we would not have written several e-mails to the CEO of Premier kindly asking him to verify the issue and issue us a credit. -Please refer to the item # 9 on our review above. If Premier Eye Care is willing to honor your statement on your item # 4 "We also offered you a full refund despite our own financial loss.." please credit our CC account at BOA for the amount due to us of $ 493.00 (four hundred and ninety three dollars). We cannot understand that "we also offered you a full refund despite our own financial loss..." could be true, if Premier make every effort to dispute our charge back with Bank of America for months. See item # 6 of our review. Unfortunately my experience with Eye Care Center Of Boca Raton was a very frustrating one. If Eye Care Center is a business that is ready to honor the products and services that they sell and provide, it will need to then fulfill their desire as in item # 4 written by Steve B and immediately credit our BOA CC account for the amount above mentioned. As soon as we received their "offered full refund" we will acknowledge that with an additional comment here.
