    Having fun at school

Our son graduated from PLA and started kindergarten recently. He performed well above benchmarks on his DIBELS assessment for reading readiness and his bus driver complimented us that he's reading signs at school. That's just the amazing academic side of PLA. Socially our son just flourished there. They met him exactly where he was and helped him grow immensely. He also never felt like he was in school or learning all that he did there. He thought it was so fun. He never complained about going but sometimes complained if we picked him up too early! We toured several facilities before ultimately choosing PLA. It immediately caught our attention because it was clean and brightly lit and colorful. There wasn't much staff turnover in our time there and I always felt like everyone knew my child and where to find him. They had fun theme dress up days, the teachers were all kind and helpful, and they just instilled such confidence in him! Hope to be able to send our second baby there when he's older as well!

This place doesn't compare to anywhere else. Ever single employee here goes above and beyond. Our son has been going to PLA for just about a year and I wish we would have discovered PLA way sooner.

    My son loves this place!

Our two girls thrived here! We moved away two years and they still recall such great memories there.

I had gone to public school for all of my life before then and all of my friends were going to Santan and Bogle, but my mother wanted me to have the experience of going to a charter school. I was upset with her at first but later realized, it was the absolutely best thing shed ever done for me. Athlos isn't just a school you go to to learn. It's a school where everyone excepts you for who you are. The teachers treat you like friends and they actually CARE. In my past years in public schools I never experienced such an awesome bond with my teachers. After two weeks in Athlos I felt right at home and by the time I was in 8th grade I was dreading the last few months because I didn't want a new beginning in highschool. I believe that the amount of homework Athlos gave per student was fair. All they were trying to do was prepare us for high school.... Some kids say Athlos was a terrible school but when I would ask them why they thought that, they had no answers. Truth is, Athlos is AMAZING. You are respected by all teachers, kids and all staff. Education was great, they prepared me for high school and I truly appreciate that... Being a former student from Athlos was, as I said, an amazing journey. After two years with amazing kids, I was able to be apart of the 2013-2014 Athlos 8th grade family. To this day and on I know I can rely on them for everything. I am proud to call myself a Titan and always will be. I recommend this school to all who are looking for a new beginning and a memorable ending.:)

We checked out several schools in the area and decided to send our son to Legacy based off of the ratings and conversation that we had with the legacy office staff. One thing that we liked was the advertised focus on academics and the students wearing uniforms. Unfortunately the focus on academics is severely lacking! The ongoing communication between the teachers and parents is nonexistent, unless the parents contact the teachers. The amount of emails that you receive daily pertaining to PTO, Sports ,and fundraising is overly abundant. I wish one of those emails would have been about my child failing a class before we found out on the progress report. Lastly there is the dreaded drop off and pick up "Drive Lines!"... This drive line is INSANE!! There was definitely a design flaw when planning out the parking lot and vehicle pathways. Legacy doesn't offer school bus service so you are subjected to this scrimmage amongst other parents to enter the 20min drive line. Overall this school just didn't live up to "As Advertised."

Attrition rate seems to be low which is very good so that the kids don't have to go through a lot of change. The homework is fairly vigorous and you'll have to expect a decent amount every night (30-40 minutes). If there's one thing that I would have an issue with is the pick up scheduling and locations. It appears to be hit or miss whether I can pick up my son in the standard line up of vehicles or if I have to pick him up in the office. They also tried an app early on in the year and it didn't work very well. They stopped using it which is good as I think it caused even more confusion. Overall, a great school and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for your kids.
