Literally every person we have met here, from the front desk to the doctors, has been so incredibly kind. MARIA at the Phoenix location is an ANGEL!!!!!! I was so nervous about surgery and she was so kind. Also Dr. GUNNALA is the sweetest guy ever. He made me feel so comfortable when things were scary. Shelly was amazing too (and funny). I would highly recommend to not use SWFC for egg freezing. There's a serious lack of patient care, disregard for patient experience, and was consistently financially predatory in my case. I used this clinic, recommended by my work's provider, for one round of egg freezing. I had some really nice nurses and positive interactions with the upstairs office, but had a really negative overall experience with the doctor/office in general. This office doesn't have any appointment reminders (no calls, texts, emails, or automation). The office kept billing my insurance because the doctor "feels like it" instead of my original coverage from work, likely because it got the office more money. I had to fight to get the billing department to correct, so unprofessional and unhelpful. I asked to have my second consultation waived since I knew I wanted to move forward after blood work, which the doctor agreed to, but then said I couldn't have notes from our conversation since I opted out. Seriously? I wanted to save myself $200 and two hours of my time, so I'm not allowed notes is poor patient care. Most importantly, I ended up getting OHSS after my retrieval and was incredibly under prepared. I never would have come into the office post retrieval (another $300 and two hours) had I been given notes from my procedure or adequate notes on how to manage OHSS. Financially predatory imo. Plus, I literally couldn't breathe normally and was told my "doctor" was too busy to see me due to new patients. Now, it's been more than a month since my retrieval, and I still have no documentation on how to access my own eggs stored here. This has been the worst patient care/experience I've had to deal with and I hope this saves some women from going through a bad experience like I did. read more

I went to SWF center for monitoring appointment as I was being seen by an out of state clinic. The experience wasn't great from the beginning. Quoted one thing over the phone then went in and had to post a higher price. Since I was only getting monitoring they refused to use my insurance. When I had questions in clinic about the ultrasound the provider wouldn't answer and also wouldn't complete my print out before I left. Since going elsewhere I've been able to compare and honestly they could stand to make a lot of improvements. I haven't and wouldn't recommend this clinic to my peers. There are better options in the area. read more

Honestly, I was so hopeful this would be a place that would help us start our journey to become parents. But it seems like they don't really care about your journey and almost like a money grab. We ran into this clinics stand at the Rainbow Festival and my wife and I both "won" a first free in person consult as well as a free first IUI which sounded to good to be true but we were reassured this is how they "give back" and insurance did not matter to "win". I called southwest to schedule an appointment and verified several times that the consult would be complimentary and they asked for my insurance to verify my coverage moving forward in the journey. We told them my insurance does not coverage any fertility so did not understand why they needed it. They said they just get insurance to know if I'm covered for any blood work, etc. she told me to tell them the day of the consult that we received the free consult so they did not charge us. The lady we scheduled the appointment with said it would be over the phone which is weird because they told us at the stand it would be in person, so that seems like a red flag already. Then today we were ready for our consult and the lady said we had to pay 150$ for the consult; I let her know we received the consult complimentary and she said since my insurance covers diagnostics(blood work) that the consult is only free for people without insurance. Which we asked about several times, and honestly makes no sense. She just kept stating they would "credit" things to my account. What would there be to credit if my insurance supposedly covers diagnostics which to us is the most important thing. We did not care about IUI but were offered it as a perk. To charge 150$ for a consult over the phone that was supposed to be complimentary and in person is false advertising and seems like a money grab. If you promise a couple trying to start a family things and then last minute take advantage of a situation that is a huge red flag. What else would have changed down the line if we decided to go with this clinic. Honestly I'm glad we caught onto this before starting a journey with this office. read more

Updating my review to respond to Dr. Vinnay Gunnala's response. 1) Janet was never given "incorrect insurance". Period. My partner and I became married and therefore my insurance changed midway through our journey. 2) I had another patient reach out to me after reading my review as we both ended up at a phenomenally better clinic. She advised her experience was identical with the IVF pressure and the horrible experience with Janet. Dr. Vinnay Gunnala was just as dismissive in clinic as he was in his response to this review. He tried to convince me that my pain wasn't real after a painful pregnancy and miscarriage. I will say his mother is much more kind and caring. Again, I can't recommend this clinic and hope that HIPPA is in compliance while this medical facility is responding to reviews and trying to make themselves look better than they are! We love these people! When other doctors told us we would never become parents, SW Fertility gave us the gift of embryo adoption. We are now 10 weeks pregnant with our first child. RED FLAGS! 1) I scheduled a phone consult with the nurse. The lady who I spoke on the phone with told me that the consult was $150. There was never a mention of this consult being charged to my insurance. The only reason I found out about this was because I was sent an invoice for $10 in the mail that my insurance did not cover. 2) I asked the nurse approximately how much a procedure would cost out of pocket. Her response was that she "didn't know" and to at the billing department would contact me, but in the meantime she directed me to keep track of my cycle so that I can be sure to call the office back to start the procedure in time . Not surprisingly, the billing department never contacted me with the cost 3) received another invoice in the mail for that $10 that my insurance did not cover after I sent in a check in the mail and the check was cashed in Needless to say, I never went through with this procedure and i crossed this place off my list. As a healthcare professional myself, I am appalled by this treatment. If this is the level of care and communication they provide at the beginning of our patient/physician relationship, then why would I bother to see how they are later down the line? For anybody that has had fertility struggles and has had to seek the care of a fertility specialist, you know first hand how exhausting both physically and emotionally the process is (on top of the incredible expense). I first went to SW fertility where I had 2 failed IUI transfers. Without getting into too much detail, for insurance reasons I choose to go to a different fertility center for my first round of IVF so I could have the chance of using at least some of my insurance benefits as SW fertility was out of network with my particular insurance at the time. While even though it was 2023 at that time, this "recommended" center still followed COVID protocols and wouldn't let my wife come back for any of my many ultrasound appointments or the eventual egg retrieval. When I woke up from my egg retrieval procedure and found out how few eggs my doctor was able to retrieve after my cycle, I just cried alone in the PACU. I was rolled out to the car where she was made to wait for me with tears streaming down my face knowing my chances for a successful embryo were severely unlikely/limited. Unfortunately I was not wrong. The few eggs that fertilized never progressed to embryos so we were left with nothing from our first cycle. Now me not having a good egg count/retrieval was not the fault of the other practice's physicians/treatment. However, being forced to go through that whole process alone was and was incredibly lonely especially when faced with a failed cycle. Unfortunately I felt like just a number there... like they truly didn't care about me. I won't even get into the other center's billing practice (but we are still fighting issues to this day about reimbursement they received from my insurance while still charging and collecting cash from me). Either way, needless to say I choose to return back to SW fertility for my 2nd IVF cycle attempt despite still having some leftover insurance benefits to use (although little). My second experience couldn't have been more different from the first. I worked mainly with Dr. Vinay Gunnala and his nursing staff, and not a single time did I feel rushed or not cared for. He took extra time with me when needed and certainly went above and beyond in making sure I was ok and comfortable with every step along the way. My wife joined every single appointment no matter how small which helped her be closer to me throughout the process. Thanks to Dr. Gunnala and SW fertility, I am now 23 weeks pregnant and expecting a healthy baby girl come March at 40 years old. I could not give a higher recommendation to Dr. Gunnala and SW fertility center. Choose them. You won't be sorry. read more

I do not recommend this place. Not only did I feel unsafe on this part of town but it was not helping with stress levels. Not only their prices are like north Scottsdale prices but in the ghetto part of Phoenix. The billing and the entire process was the worst process I could ever experience. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to have found Dr. Gunnala and SWF Center. After 2 unsuccessful rounds of IVF at a different clinic, my husband and I felt defeated and started losing hope that we would have a baby of our own. We were referred to Dr. Gunnala by my OB. He took the time to listen to our struggles and thoroughly reviewed therapies that were used at the previous clinic so he could formulate a treatment plan that best suited our situation. If you're considering fertility clinics, please do yourself a favor and meet the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Southwest Fertility Center. I can't imagine going through this path of intense emotion, insecurity, and finally joy, anywhere other than SWFC. We felt welcome and comfortable there from the very beginning. It is a family-owned clinic, and they really step up to that ideal by treating their patients like family. I never once felt like I bothered them with too many questions at my appointments, and my occasional anxious calls to the after-hours on-call nurse were always answered with patience and expertise. When things went poorly I truly felt their disappointment too, and when we finally got pregnant and it "stuck" they celebrated right along with us. All this mushy stuff is great, but "what about the quality of care and the success rates?" you ask... Regarding quality of care: SWFC has either the doctors or the nurses doing everyone's exams, no matter what stage of this process you're in. In perusing some of the online forums, I realized this is very uncommon. Most clinics seem to delegate "smaller jobs" to paraprofessionals or techs. They are of course competent to perform these exams, but would they recognize a problem outside of their scope if there was one? Could they answer unrelated questions you were waiting to ask at your next appointment? I found it very helpful and validating to have a nurse or doctor present at every step of the way. I could ask about weird sensations or symptoms and knew I was getting a knowledgeable response. As for results, look them up! SWFC has consistently higher than the national average success rates in every age bracket! As an older mom-to-be in a same-sex relationship , we didn't have hundreds of eggs and endless supply of donor sperm, so it was very important to us to get results within one or two rounds due to the ticking clock and financial expense. We did consider the bigger nationally known clinics we have here in the Phoenix area, but their success rates compared quite equally to SWFC and their process felt like an assembly line. That's not the environment I wanted to conceive our baby. In conclusion, getting the highest quality of care in an environment so full of kind, welcoming people, is my ideal medical scenario. I am a single mother by choice with a surrogate. We switched to SFC from ARMS when our hopes were all but in the toilet from how things went for us at ARMS. ARMS admittedly lied to us, dragging our process out over 9 months for 100% bogus reasons, which they later admitted and ended up refunding some of my money because of it. We were at SFC for EIGHT WEEKS before we had our fresh transfer. In that short 8 weeks, they gave us back our hope and we were able to be excited and happy again about making this baby. (Both) Dr Gs made us feel like family, like they genuinely cared about us and our dream of making this happen. COMPLETELY different then how we were made to feel at ARMS. After spending almost a year being given the run around for this and that reason, our experience at SFC restored our faith. Little things like After our transfer, as we were walking out of the office, all the people that had a hand in our journey up to that point we're standing in the office to wave us off and tell us good luck!! We were overcome with emotion at how many people were invested in us being successful. Everyone. The women who drew our blood for labs, the finance manager, to the nurses and of course Dr G. It made us feel like we couldn't lose. It was one of the most heart warming things I've ever experienced. And when we graduated onto OB they sent us off with hugs and hand shakes while playing the graduation song over the loudspeaker I am so thankful SFC was suggested to me. My first video consult with Dr. Sujatha Gunnala and some follow ups started off great with meeting with us and explaining the steps we would need to take to try and have a child of our own. The complaints that I have is the lack of communication and response from her front office personnel (Fran & Yvonne). My husband has been going there as well to have his semen analysis done and getting results from them was a headache. After calls and several emails to Fran and Yvonne we called it quits. While Dr. Gunnala may be a great doctor, the lack of communication from her staff resulted in having her 2 less patients and I'm pretty sure more if this poor service continues. Why would we want to continue service here when we can't get a response. Weeks later, Fran had the audacity to call me asking if I would like to reschedule an appointment. I told her why would I want to do that when she doesn't respond to my emails and said due to this I won't be scheduling any more appointments which her response was "no problem" and hung up. No empathy of any sort....appalling to say the least. read more

Dr. Vinay Gunnala is the BEST doctor ever! The entire staff at SW Fertility is top-notch. They care about each patient, they aren't afraid to hug and hold your hand. I am so appreciative of everything this clinic has done for us. Dr. Vinay Gunnala and his team were so supportive of our struggle and journey and were with us every step of the way. Our journey was a long one, but with a happy ending. We were at another big IVF clinic in AZ and had an IVF cycle there, but had a rare and unfortunate outcome. The embryologist (who we never met) told us the results, but the physician never called or followed up with us. It felt horrible and like they never really cared about us. Then we found Southwest Fertility Center through a friend's referral. This clinic was the total opposite of the previous clinic we were at. This clinic was so much more friendly and personable. Dr. Gunnala is the most compassionate and understanding physician. He truly cares about you and wants the best outcome for you. He took the time to explain the whole process so that my husband and I would understand every option that we could choose. He also gave his preferences, but was willing to do what we wanted to do. We had to go through 2 more IVF cycles and had a loss with one implantation as well as a gynecologic surgery in between, but Dr. Gunnala never gave up and just kept pushing forward and we are so grateful! It is a very scary, stressful, and frustrating process, but Dr. Gunnala and Shelley, NP kept me calm and hopeful throughout the whole process. They answered all of my crazy questions and were always there to help. The whole clinic made us feel like family. From checking in, to blood draws, to ultrasounds, every person on the team was so friendly and was there for us. They were with us in the heartbreak when we had a loss and felt the joy with our success. We are now in the third trimester of our pregnancy with our first baby and are so thrilled for the future. I'm sharing my story in hopes that it will reach people who truly need to find the best fertility clinic in Az. I was diagnosed when I was 25 with stage 4 endometriosis. I was told that one of my ovaries was wrapped around my intestine and I went to 3 different specialists that would NOT touch that ovary. After multiple surgeries, I was given a 50% chance to conceive. 10 years pass and still nothing.. I literally gave up all hope! I had a horrible infection on that left ovary in March 2019.. the specialist I saw told me after surgery that I needed to either see a fertility specialist or have a hysterectomy done. We chose to find a fertility specialist. It was by luck/chance that my work was having a health fair and I noticed a fertility clinic booth (SOUTHWEST FERTILITY CENTER) I walked up and met Janet (love her) so very personable she literally answered all my questions. So I took a shot and set up an appointment. The BEST thing I have EVER done for myself! I met with Dr. Vinay Gunnala (the most gentle soul) he gave me the option that I had after all of his thorough work ups. I just broke down and cried, because for once.. for once there was a ray of hope! He was very confident (this means everything to me) and compassionate!! I will never forget what he told me, he said, "the other doctors just put a bandaid over the problem, but we are going to fix it" I not only had the opportunity to have him doing the surgery, but also his amazing mother, Dr. Sujatha Gunnala, who has over 30+ years experience! I felt like this was a dream come true, I felt like royalty. I couldn't believe that I had 2 of the best Fertility Doctors working on me! After 5 hours under and very precise work, they were able to fix me! They did what 3 specialist wouldn't and SUCCEEDED!! From there I started my IVF treatments. As of tomorrow, 1/13/2020, I am 12 weeks pregnant!! We did it!! We did it ALL with the love and guidance of Southwest Fertility Center RN's Agatha and Lana were my guides, they gave me the run down and were also on call when ever I had questions! They stayed on top of me and always followed through. The medical assistant's Yvonne and Vanessa are also amazing, both awesome at drawing blood and making you feel at home. I have nothing but good things to say about this office. As anyone who has struggled with miscarriages and/or infertility know, this is an extremely stressful time. From my first appointment, I felt like Dr Gunnala truly cared. He took the time to listen to my history and explain how he was going to proceed with his plan of care. I came to this office after previously going to another fertility specialist who I was not impressed with, and I'm so glad I did. I ended up getting pregnant on my own shortly after I started seeing Dr Gunnala so I can't speak to any actual treatments, but I would recommend this office in a heartbeat. Anyone who is familiar with fertility issues knows what a long, challenging, exhausting road it can be. Without even knowing where to begin, my husband and I were lucky enough to be recommended to SW Fertility by a friend who had used their services. I am pleased to say we are now 11 weeks pregnant after our first round of IVF! From the beginning, Dr. Gunnala was always hopeful, but realistic about our issues. She let us know we would have a child, but it was just uncovering what was standing in the way and working around it. We came to Southwest Fertility Center after a less than stellar experience with another doctor's office. Dr. Gunnala and every staff member were so helpful and compassionate at every step of the way. They took the time to explain things as many times as was needed, and this process is complicated for newbies. We were successful on our first round of IVF, but sadly lost our baby at 35 weeks. We called Dr. Gunnala's office to let them know what happened, and she called us back to listen, learn, empathize and sensitively direct us towards next steps when we are ready. The office also sent a beautiful plant, which was above and beyond. We cannot say enough great things about this practice, their expertise is matched by their compassion and I would not consider going anywhere else. read more

Most of all I want to say how I love and am so grateful for Dr. Gunnala, I've been going to her for years and finally decided to go through with fertility. I reached out to SWFC in September 2021 after we had been TTC for almost a year. It was scary taking that first step and admitting you may need some help but I am SO grateful I did. I read through all the testimonials and felt this was the place for us. After meeting everyone at SWFC that was further confirmed. We began testing immediately and by November 2021 we had a plan in place. I likely have endometriosis based on symptoms but I opted not to have the surgery to confirm. We had 2 unsuccessful IUIs but everyone remained optimistic and supportive. We decided to move onto IVF. In March 2022 we did a fresh transfer and she stuck! We felt so lucky it worked on the first try. Flash forward to December 2022 and our beautiful baby girl was born. We are so so grateful to everyone at SWFC. I wanted to give my IVF journey with Southwest fertility center 10 stars. IVF is a journey that is beyond stressful, scary, sad, and all the emotions you can think of. Dr Gunnala and his staff make you feel very well taken care of and always answer any questions or concerns. You can tell the staff truly is rooting for you for a successful pregnancy and hurt with you when the results do not go your way. Dr Gunnala personally gave me his cell number since he knew my anxiety was high so we could speak to him directly in emergent times of need. He would personally reach out to make sure we were doing well even after graduating from his practice at 10 weeks. This being said, after a few rounds of failed IUI and one miscarriage our second IVF round ended with a positive and successful pregnancy. My husband always felt included and was always being spoken to directly to keep him in the loop. To start off me and my wife were looking to do Reciprocal IVF. We were looking for a fertility clinic local to us as we live in Carson City, Nevada. There is only 1 clinic in our area and they dont accept our insurance so everything would have been out of pocket. We called many clinics and searched and read reviews and watch videos. Southwest Fertility had the best videos and really touched our hearts. Once we contacted them we found out they accepted our insurance. We made an appt and Dr. Vinay reached out to us on Skype. We instantly thought he was super nice and really cared about our situation and what we wanted and how we wanted to do it. I am 41 years old and my wife is 33 years old. We were so worried that most clinics would have had an issue working with us due to my age. They did NOT at all. They made us feel so comfortable. We decided to choose their office to start our adventure to becoming parents. Our trip to Phoenix was more than what we expected and they treated us like family . Every single person there. They hugged us, laughed with us, and always asked how we was doing and even talked about our animals at home lol. Of all the visits, and trips, and ultrasounds, and bloodwork, Etc. I had never felt more comfortable with an entire Dr's office. Our first round of IVF didnt go as good as we had hoped due to my embryo quality and we chose to do PGS testing due to my age. We decided to do another round of IVF cause we were determined to be parents and we didnt wanna give up and Dr Vinay felt very comfortable with trying again. He was as determined as we were for success. Well the second round went well. I was the one who chose to use my eggs and do the 2 egg retrievals since my wife was younger, and worked from home so we decided for her to do to transfer and carry the baby . Again they made us feel so much at home . They were so positive we just knew they were rooting for us and was not about just running just test after test. It wasn't about the money for them. It was about us having a successful reterievel, and transfer, and pregnancy. Well, we are 13 weeks pregnant with a baby boy!!!! I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Gunnala and her staff. My husband and I had been trying to concieve with oral medications for a while with no luck before we went to see Dr. Gunnala. I had an appt with another fertility doctor first and had a horrible experience that left me extremely upset and feeling hopeless. My husband and I went to get a second opinion with Dr. Gunnala at Southwest Fertility and she lifted my spirits and gave me hope again that my husband and I could really become parents. After a uterine polyp removal to get my body ready for babies, we started fertility treatments. In the end and after going through every step we could, we decided to go for the big one, IVF. It was tough, physically and mentally but we were ready for whatever came our way. And it did big time. WE WERE PREGNANT and with TWINS!! We were so extremely excited!! But I also developed ovarian hyperstimulation, and had to be hospitalized (a known risk I took when I decided to start using fertility drugs). This was the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life. But with Dr. Gunnala taking care of me, calling me, visiting me to check up on me in the hospital all the time, I knew I would be okay. I remember THE scariest moment, when I was released from the hospital and got a phone call from Shelley (a nurse at Dr. Gunnala's office) a couple days later that things started to go downhill again and I would have to be re-admitted. I started crying, I felt so drainned, was so sick and was terrified for our babies. I remember asking Shelley all choked up if the babies were going to be okay and if we were going to loose them...she told me in the most confident voice that our babies would be just fine. I needed to hear that from her and it made me feel strong again. Those simple words of confidence that came from Shelly meant so much to me, I will never forget it. Everyone took such good care of my husband and I through this whole journey, they will never be forgotten. Dr. Gunnala made us feel like family, she gives the very best hugs and we felt so comfortable around her. It is amazing how much she works from the heart, something I have never experienced with a doctor before. Shelley is SO confident in her field, you see it and feel it in her eyes when she talks to you. Even during the most challenging times she picks you back up and gets you back on track. She also has a great sense of humor. You will always feel comfortable and confident around her. Agatha and Lana were amazing. They were always there when we needed them, if we called because we had a question we never had to wait long for a response. They both were so caring and we could tell they genuinely cared about my health and well being. Charles was great. When we were going through IVF and our eggs were in his care, he would call me and give me updates on how things were progressing. Listening to him talk about the process, all the details and improvements was too cool. You can tell in his voice he loves his job, he absolutely loves what he does and helping people. Janet and Karla were awesome. Karla was always very kind and understanding and made us feel welcome. Janet is such a down to earth and personable woman and has the greatest laugh, and knows all the ins and outs of insurance, she helped us SO much! Fran who works at the front desk is always so sweet. When we called to make our first appt my husband and I were so upset after the first doctor we saw, she made us feel so much better and made us excited to meet the Southwest Fertility team. The rest of Dr. Gunnala's staff was great as well, everyone there will make you feel like family! And i'm happy to say our babies are doing amazingly and so are my husband and I. Words can't express how grateful we are for all of the support. After 7 years of trying we were blessed on Oct 5 2016 at 10:02pm after 31 hours of being induced and then labor - we finally had him. We went for a visit today to say THANK YOU! We might have made your day but you made our life complete. I had it rough with PCOS and spent so much money with what we thought was the best fertility dr in Phoenix -but it turned out he pushed my body so much with medicine that I thought my chances were slim. Then a great friend referred us to DR. G and she saw what the other dr did and was shocked and told us that I didn't need all of that and we tried IUI and it took. Not only did she give us hope but the whole office was supportive! Janet was great and even gave me breastfeeding tips and while in the office today-my baby was able to latch on! So, this review is a long time coming. As with many people our lives have just been shaken. With that, I can't express my love and respect for the staff here. They were there in all the highs and lows. Trust me there were a lot of lows. This isn't an easy journey regardless of doctor that you use, but from day 1 you can tell Dr. G is of kind soul and VERY knowledgeable. If you go into this thinking it will be easy, buckle up. As a husband watching your wife go through the emotional roller coaster of pain while not being able to do anything but be present, it's frustrating. For me I can grip with when transfers don't take. It sucks, but I was wrapping my head around it. The struggle was the one that did and had several visits listening to the heartbeat only for it to end in sadness and needing to be removed. This is a lot of pain and you may wonder why would write a 5 star review about this. Well, today we have a healthy 5 month old girl and and is the joy of my life. My ending comment for those going through the journey, I feel for you all. If it doesn't take the first.. second.. don't give up hope. Even at 42 it can be done!!
