The first sketchy element is that the link my wife kept sending me kept taking me to a google search with an alternate name. It appears that they do business under two different names which is kind of shady. But the big problem is that when you try to schedule an appointment on their website, it asks you to choose three different times. This is really bad because in this area many people have jobs and families and you can't just bank on some random time MAYBE being available. So I tried to call in the morning and nobody answered. I tried to call again in the afternoon after I made the appointment and again nobody answered. This was for an appointment the next day. I got two auto-texts saying "sorry we missed your call" so I replied to the texts saying I have a job and four kids and I can't be left hanging on these appointments, and this is a bad first impression after my wife recommended this place. I get a call back FIVE minutes after that text from a someone sounding like a sorority chick who just got dumped by her boyfriend. Huge attitude immediately. She's like "Those are just APPOINTMENT REQUESTS, SIR! We have ONE appointment at 7:45am tomorrow." Okay, well the appointments I thought I signed up for were 2:15, 2:30, and 2:45. So I calmly asked why the website listed 12 appointments for tomorrow and 18 for the next day if none of those were really available. And she just kept replying to everything I said by getting increasingly loud and obnoxious so I finally said, "well I guess I will go to another practice then," and before I could even say thanks and bye, she hung up on me. After this conversation, a lot of stuff is even weirder as I think about it. If the appointments are "just requests," then why were there "no requests" listed today, "12 requests" tomorrow, and "18 requests" the next day? That's totally nonsensical because if nothing is guaranteed then why list ANY times that are definitely not available??? And if you're going to list some times, why not list them all? Still the worst is just the rudeness. If your instant response to someone texting that you made a bad first impression but TRYING TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION BY SETTING A FIRM APPOINTMENT is to call them back in a haughty tone, then perhaps you should not be employed in customer service. Or, maybe the front desk person was out today and I was called by a doctor. But that just makes things even worse. Anyway, imagine potentially gaining 5 new customers (the rest of my family) and instead losing one (my wife) with just one phone call! Amazing. Anyway btw I got an appointment at MyEyeDr in the Boro same day today and they were actually nice...

Went for an eye exam. Was told that I could pay $39 extra for an exam that wasn't covered by…read moreinsurance. If I didn't pay for it, "...then we might have to dilate your eyes..." to continue the exam. I didn't appreciate the implication that I "might" require my eyes to be dilated...but that if I paid an extra $39 then I wouldn't. Doubt I'll be going back there. And it's unfortunate because I've been going there for years without this exam. Anything to make more money I guess.

And on the second visit when I told him that I felt that it was early because my vision is just fine, his demeanor switched to quite rude from the previous behavior which was actually pushy as if trying to sell this surgery. A second opinion has told me that my vision is 20/20 and I definitely do not need this surgery.

She was able to do several things to help with the immediate pain and also saw him 3 days in a row to follow the healing and make sure that there were no longer term issues with his vision. Very bizarre experience with this shady practice. I purchased a new pair of Oakley glasses frames…read moreonline and dropped them off at Modern Optometry to have lens created and inserted into the frames. I paid over $300 for this process. Two weeks later, I received a phone call informing me that their lab BROKE the glasses frames. I asked how to remedy the situation and was informed that they were not responsible for the broken frames because I signed a waiver. Huh? So, essentially, I was out of luck and out of a new pair of beautiful glasses frames. The sales person (Amanda?) said she would email pictures of the broken frames. Two weeks went by and still no pictures. I called again and spoke to this sales person, and she informed me (in a very awkward manner) that she received "undeliverable" messages from my email address (which I've had for over 10 years.) So, I asked her to email the pictures to my work email address...and to this day, still NO pictures. She ended up refunding me the $300 for lens insertion. However, I am out a pair of new glasses frames without any real proof they were broken. What happened to my glasses frames? Did they lose them? Did somebody steal them? Totally unacceptable, and very shady business practices. I would not recommend this store.

I had a nice visit to the eye doctor today at the Costco in Chantilly. It is on the right side of the main entrance and it says "Eye Exams" above the door. The receptionist was nice and had me fill out the paperwork which took no time, and Dr. Song had me in for my appointment on time, which rarely happens when I see any doctor. He did a thorough evaluation of my eye health and updated my prescription as well. I was not previously aware of the optic nerve cupping that he saw when he did the eye exam and recommended an ophthalmologist to see in order to have a further examination done on the issue. I am glad he was as thorough as he was because I have never been told of this issue in all the years I have had eye exams in the past. Better safe than sorry. I was very impressed by the professionalism by the practice and I will definitely be back to have my eyes checked in the future. I do not have eye insurance and their eye exam for glasses is very reasonable, being only $65. I would rather come here to spend that money and make sure my eyes are healthy than waste it at Ruth's Chris and get a clogged artery.

Our old doctor was massively expensive, even though both my husband and I had very good paying jobs. Once we lost our eye coverage, we felt we we being disrespected at our old optometrists office. Then we found Dr. Song. He is wonderful, his offices has never overbooked him, he treats us with lots of respect and concern. All five of us love going to see Dr. Song. Our son, who lives in California now, still makes his appointments when he is visiting home because he says he had the same problem in California where he felt rushed, Dr. really didn't care about him and he definitely didn't feel respected. Dr. Song is located on the outside of the Costco Chantilly building. He has Costco member rates but he takes non-member clients and his rates are only $69.00/$89.00 which is very reasonable. Dr. Song is a true professional and he really takes his time with all of his clients and for us, well we all feel listened to, which is a rarity now a days.

What a great doctor and office!…read more I saw Dr. Ghannam and he was extremely attentive and very friendly. He took his time to examine my eyes and did some exams that other doctors had never done (such as taking a picture of the inside of my retina to see the back of the eye and its nerve, for example). It also had been super easy to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. The office staff is super helpful and very friendly. The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. Great doctor, great office! So happy I have found them.
