No one called me back or gave me any answers in regards to my daughters aligners that were soon to run out. I've generally had a really positive experience with this office and with my son's orthodontic treatment, which is why today's interaction with one orthodontic technician was so disappointing. The office appeared to be short-staffed, and this particular technician was clearly frustrated about having several patients waiting. I could already sense the frustration in the way she was interacting with others. When another orthodontic technician asked her to show me how to adjust my son's expander at home, she immediately seemed irritated. I explained that this is my son's second expander and that he had previously been doing the adjustments himself. However, I was completely willing to watch and learn since they wanted a parent to be responsible for the adjustments this time. Instead of simply showing me, her tone and demeanor became increasingly rude and unnecessarily argumentative. At that point, I told her that I could clearly see she was frustrated about the office being short-staffed and that I would rather have someone else teach us than continue the interaction. Her response to me was simply, "There's no one else." The way she said it was extremely dismissive and unprofessional. Thankfully, the doctor overheard the interaction, stepped in, and offered to show us himself. I completely understand that healthcare offices get busy, employees call out, and being short-staffed can be stressful. However, staffing issues are not the patient's responsibility, and that frustration should never be directed toward patients or their families. When someone is providing care to my child, especially working inside his mouth, I expect them to communicate respectfully and professionally. I sincerely hope this employee receives additional education or training on how to appropriately interact with patients and their families. That being said, I really want to emphasize that this interaction does not reflect my overall experience with this office. The Russian orthodontic technician (Olsa and one other whose name I didn't catch) who has helped us has always been incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful. The front office staff are also always kind and welcoming. The doctor is great as well. He is very knowledgeable and makes an effort to accomplish as much as possible during each visit so that we don't have to make multiple unnecessary appointments. As a parent who attends school in the Bay Area, I genuinely appreciate that consideration because every additional appointment requires rearranging my schedule and traveling. The more we can accomplish in one visit, the better! Overall, I appreciate the doctor and the majority of the staff and have been happy with my son's care. Unfortunately, this one employee's behavior created a very uncomfortable experience today. I hope the situation is addressed because one person's attitude should not overshadow an otherwise great team and the quality care my son has received. read more

So far, my experience has been very disappointing. My daughter has been receiving treatment here for about a year, and as a parent, I want to be informed and involved in her care. I even left work early to attend an appointment so I could ask a few questions about her treatment. Unfortunately, the interaction with the dentist, MICHAEL MAYWEATHER, was discouraging. When I asked my first question, the response was minimal. I waited until he finished working before asking another question, but his reaction made it clear he was annoyed, even glancing at his assistant before giving a very short answer. After that, the atmosphere felt tense and uncomfortable. It's difficult to communicate in that kind of environment. There is very little explanation or education provided about the treatment, and information feels rushed and incomplete. As a healthcare provider, especially in orthodontics where long-term care is involved, it's important that patients and parents feel informed, respected, and included in the treatment plan. I am extremely frustrated with my experience at this dental office. The process of getting my daughter's braces has been unnecessarily prolonged, and there has been very little communication about what is causing the delays. As a parent, I expect to be kept informed, but instead I have repeatedly been left wondering what is going on and what the next steps are. Several appointments seemed unproductive, with little to no progress being made toward getting her braces on. Taking time off work and rearranging schedules for appointments that accomplish nothing is very disappointing. On top of that, some of the staff members have come across as rude and dismissive when questions are asked. Patients and their families deserve to be treated with respect and given clear information about their treatment plans. All of a sudden don't know why they can't have my appointment said they called to reschedule people nobody called me. In agreement to Maria's review... Unfortunately your message puts me at ease that I'm not just overly sensitive or making a big deal out of nothing from my experiences as well. My very first time in contact w/Dr. Mayweather was back in August of 2024, I simply asked what he was doing during that appt & what the action plan was looking like for future appts. His response was "Oh even if I explained it, you wouldn't understand." My daughter and I both heard it but I was so dumbfounded I just looked at my daughter & shook my head. I just could not grasp my head around his response. Obviously Ortho is not my field of expertise otherwise I'd work on my own daughter's braces...so as someone in that field, Dr. Mayweather should have explained in terms that I would understand! I am paying for a service. His job is to deliver it, which includes clear & precise communication. It's now May 2026 & in March of this year, after exchanging rubber bands for several months, my daughter has an asymmetrical lower arch & her upper midline is not centered. This March when I addressed my concern w/Dr. Mayweather was the ONLY other time he has spoken to me & I am there every appt. As a recommended solution, Dr. Mayweather suggested extraction on a total of 4 teeth. Mind you, my daughter has been in his care since August of 2024. My daughter's teeth's are not overcrowded and her general dentist is not willing to and does not approve of the extractions. Extracting unnecessary teeth will not only extend her time wearing braces but can collapse her profile, causing her face to be sucked-in. So please, please do continue documenting, ask questions and learn from my mistake because it's extremely hard as a mom to live w/the guilt that I should've advocated more for my daughter & now we're in this predicament simply because I trusted Dr. Mayweather to do his job in his field of expertise. read more

I have had multiple bad experiences with this place. Mostly feeling out of the loop. They do not explain what they are doing at all and when you ask questions you get minimal answers if any at all. Everyone there is very rude and seems annoyed at all times. My daughter who is only 10 years old will be yelled at for moving too much during the procedure and causing problems. So much so that they left her alone in the chair for 15 minutes with all the equipment in her mouth while she was in pain. They also have no care for appt times. I went there on Tuesday the 9th. I had an appt at 930 to get my daugthers braces put on. By 950 we still had not been called back and we had arrived at 915. I went to the front desk to ask how much longer, they asked for her name and said she would be the next one seen. I sat back down and by 1005 the hygenist came out and called another family that literally just walked in the door. I looked at the hygienist funny and she realized we had been there a while. She asked if we'd been helped and I told her no we hadn't and that my daughter's appt was over 30 minutes ago. She said she would look at it. She came back and said they had just checked my daugther in at 1005. I went back to the desk and was asking why in the world she got checked in at 1005 when we had been there since 915. She gave me some excuse saying that my contracts were signed at 915 and they were waiting to review them so they couldnt put her in to the system until they did. I told them that is not my problem. That my appt was at 930, we were here on time and we should be seen. She came back and said sorry that there were no chairs available at that time so we had to wait. i told her there were no chairs becuase they kept calling families ahead of us that arrived after us. She said that she couldn't do anything about it now that they were in the chairs. I asked what time the last person they called in appt was. She said 1030. At this time it was only 1015. I got very upset saying there is no way that they are seeing someone 15 minutes early when my child has been waiting an hour to be seen. The office manager finally came out and said that there was a chair now and helped my daughter get called back but did so with an attitude. I tried so hard to be nice and I understand when things run behind schedule with medical offices it is bound to happen, but when we wait an hour and people get called in early for appts it makes no sense to me and the staff is nothing but rude about it. read more

Dentist are nice. Receptionist are very rude and the billing department is horrible too. I lost my job and got behind on my payments I'm literally homeless at the moment and they refuse to see her but still charging me but I can not get her seen only for a "emergency" today we went in for a emergency apt to get a wire cut and the guy doing the work said oh you haven't been here since February is there a reason I said yes I got behind on my payments and he goes oh let us get you the doctor to get a fix on these and comes back 1 min later from being up at the front desk and says oh I'm sorry you have to make another appointment. Today, I had an appointment at this location to have my rubber bands and wire changed. The front desk lady was extremely rude, informing me that the clinic was closed, even though they had scheduled the appointment, and I took time off work to attend. She claimed they had left me messages and text messages, which I have no record of, making me feel as if she was calling me a liar. I am so disappointed in the outcome, service and value overall with Premier Ortho. Was told length of Invisalign treatment could take up to 18 months. After 3 years and horrible check in visits every 4-6 weeks, it seems like this office only wants the money. I will be paying for treatment in another office to get better quality and outcome. They don't issue statements, don't allow online payments and expect me to call every month and make a payment. I'd have no problem doing so IF THEY WOULD ANSWER THEIR PHONES! I've never seen a more unorganized billing department. So unprofessional! I end up using care credit "pay my provider" because they are terrible. I don't even know how much my balance is because there's no statements! I'm actually looking to switch to another location because of this. My first visit was today and this is such an amazing office! The staff are very knowledgeable and sweet, I was helped by Jessica, not too sure of her title, but she exceeded my expectations. I had everything I needed get done, they even fit me in for a scan so I wouldn't have to come back too many times! I spend about 1.5 hours here, but I got everything done. I wonder if they don't value your dollar because they are often extremely judgmental about what you do vs don't do to your teeth, they are vocal about it and don't care about patient privacy (you share a room with 5 other pie to in extremely close proximity and they say what they want) and a bit snobby. The tech asked my daughter to brush her teeth. I asked where were the cups to rinse. All techs completely ignored us until I had to ask like 5 other times as all other patients just gazed at me as if I was a science experiment. read more

Love this place. My son just had his braces off and we picked up his retainer. They are great. My son was a challenge but they worked with him. They kept him on his path and he ended up with a great smile. I wanted to also mention two people who don't get a lot of credit but deserve it. Taylor at the front desk is amazing. Great customer service. Always friendly and smiling. Even with my difficult scheduling, she worked with me and made me feel that they cared about getting us an appointment that worked. She is a tremendous asset. Last, but definitely not least, is Jessica. She is simply fabulous. She keeps the place running, dealt with any concerns I had, and was always smiling and laughing. She knows how to treat customers and is great at her job. I have been to a lot of professional offices in my life. Dr. Konovalenko and her staff always go the extra mile. Dr. K cares about her patients and wants what is best for them. My youngest was suppose to have her braces on for a year and half but, due to my daughter following directions and the staff and Dr. getting her in on a regular basis. I started treatment here for braces in 2008. I was a patient with them through November 2010, when my braces came off. I got a late start because my mom and dad couldn't afford braces when I was younger, so I was on my own. Overall, when the long 2.5 years were done (lots of pain later), I had my braces off. At each appointment, the ortho. was never on time, I had to wait around a lot. Where do I begin? Their staff is not friendly at all, not to mention, my total treatment cost me $6500. When I did get the doctors time, I think he spent maybe 2 minutes with me and was always in a big hurry to rush off to the next person. What I feel was done poorly here was that they'd seriously over book everyone. They'd schedule consultations along with adjustments all at once, which would cause everyone to sit around and wait. Back to the money... after my braces came off, I got my retainer. I went in for an adjustment last year and since then, that thing has never fit right. Time got away from me and I never pursued it, but I called to make an appointment to get it looked at and adjusted just a couple weeks ago. They told me I'd need to pay an office visit fee as well as an adjustment fee for the retainer since I hadn't been in there in so long. I nearly choked when they told me that. I paid you $6500 and you can't spend 2 minutes to look at my retainer? I'd pay the adjustment fee but refuse to pay the office visit fee. Instead, I'm going elsewhere. These people are shady and money hungry as people and a business but overall, my teeth turned out nice. read more

I only have nice things to say about the staff at Image Orthodontics ... and I've been a long time customer now. Don't ask me why, but I've had braces 3 times - ok the first was when I was a kid and I think it was so my brother wasn't the only one with braces ... the second time was because all my teeth had grown in and my first braces were actually premature (and also a ploy by the orthodontist to make some money), and the third time was because I did not wear a retainer (my orthodontist had never given me one). When I had my braces in college, it was through Image Orthodontics in San Francisco ... and it was a very pleasant experience. Imagine what it felt like when I moved to Sacramento and found out Dr. Kalika had an office there too! Needless to say, the same high-tech, efficient work place with all the bells and whistles of a professional office describes his practice in Sacramento. So back in 2011 I decided to get braces. As an adult (I'm 30 now by the way) I wanted to get the best treatment I could afford, after doing a lot of research online and in-person consultations I chose Image Orthodontics. And now after 2 years of treatment! I can finally write a review for this place. Pricing is very good; It was even cheaper since my work pays for a portion of orthodontia treatment and I was able to use my flex spending account. Every time I've had an appointment here it has been nice and clean, and the staff/Dr's are very friendly and professional. I even came back a number of times because my braces wires were poking my gums and they addressed the issues promptly. Now I have retainers, during the first few months of using them my upper retainer cracked (looks like invisalign) and they replaced the upper with a metal one for free! that was awesome because it saved me $300. Also just had my last appointment and I was given another bottom retainer. All in all, This place has treated me great and I have no complaints. read more

Had good service when my son had his first set put on 3 years ago ( he had 2 phases ) the consult and first appt was the only good experience they gave me , I was locked in after. I can never get a return call after leaving voice mails for the billing specialist and the office never answers the phone when calling to make appts . There were also other incidents in office that were very unprofessional . The dentist was very pleasant himself ( Dr Kalik) but when it comes to the office staff , they are the WORST . Dr. Kalika is incredible; he saved my girl from losing two permanent front teeth! She broke her teeth and fractured her root while playing on a playground at school. Her general dentist told us that her teeth are quite loose and about to fall out, he wasn't sure if we would be able to save her teeth. When I contacted Dr. Kalika he told me that the length of time from injury to treatment is very important and that we need to come see him immediately. Dr. Kalika came in on his day off to see her and he secured her broken teeth with braces. Her teeth are now restored with fillings and her smile is beautiful which I think is priceless for a girl! read more

Overall great experience. They are kid friendly and very patient with them. My daughter is very sensitive towards pain and they helped her along her visits and were kind and patient with her. Love Dr. Milstein and glad that for most of the visits she was there to check on my daughters progress. They have a credit point to motivate kids to earn prize online by wearing their Image shirt however I'm annoyed that the only way you get credit is if you tell them your kid is wearing the shirt. So half the time I went there with my daughter she didn't get credit because they can't be aware of what the child wears and note it down, so is there really a point of this credit system to earn if they can't follow thru? Also most time they are busy checking in or out that perhaps clients do t want to bother with asking to note it to their credit system The front reception needs a little work to acknowledge and help assist more. I've notice some tend to gather and chat rather than acknowledge someone and assure them someone will help when one is waiting. read more

I am never dissatisfied when I take Seamas for his evaluations. It looks like he'll be starting treatment in about 6 mos. Traci, our treatment coordinator, was very accommodating, patient and polite while discussing pending treatment. I particularly like the Patient Rewards system, a point based system that allows patients to collect points then use them as payment for many different fun and age appropriate items, mainly gift cards to a variety of several stores, restaurants and online stores. I plan to bring my daughter in for an evaluation and have her seen on a regular basis from now on. She wants to earn points, too! In addition, once the kids are taken care of, I might just have myself evaluated since my previous orthodontist didn't get the job done. I've been trying to set up an ortho consultation for the last month and they never answer the phone, returned phone calls and when I filled out a form online and got an email to set up a time they never replied to that. It's very frustrating because this is the only location close to me that my insurance accepts so I'm going to have to go farther out to get an ortho consult. read more

This office will give you the run around regarding billing. They don't have a specific protocol when it comes to paying for your adult children's braces, they will have you running around with your head chopped off trying to get payments made, billing questions answered and charge your account even when the last payment was paid last month. They will tell you they will take care of it, then they avoid you for days, and never correct the issue. read more

I'm fairly happy with Image Orthodontics. The treatment plan for my daughter for the most part has been very good. Staff is very friendly and the office is nice and clean. My chief complaint would be the availability of appointments and getting voice mail any time I try to call the office during office hours. Some times it takes me 2 days to get through to ask a question or make an appointment far,far into the furture. The service is good until you move. I have received calls and inaccurate billing several times. I have asked for the proper statement and it took several weeks to get. I have asked for a recent statement as my final balance was paid to be told that they cannot email or fax the bill and I live in another state. I have called multiple times and asked to speak to a manager. This is the worst billing department and office management I have encountered. It's a shame because the office and staff are polite but this is joke. read more

To be perfectly honest my son has had some traumatic experience with dental procedures. I just knew this would be the same but I was willing to try as he needed braces bad. Unbeknownst me I was pleasantly surprised at how they handled him. He was given time to relax and trust the process. He was told every step and if he felt nervous they would give him a break. I have never seen my son this comfortable with a dental procedure. To be 11 and have had nothing but bad experiences, they have turned him around. He even told me he would go back here because it didn't hurt and no one lied to him. The office has great staff and we're able to put on his braces the same day.
