IB Roofing was the clear best choice of the four bids I received to re-roof my Rockridge house…read more Their pricing was excellent for the quality we wanted, and Israel, the owner, was great to work with: punctual, transparent, patient, responsive, and never pushy. He clearly explained what was necessary versus what was optional, and I never felt upsold. When additional issues came up, including the need to replace roof decking before the shingles could go on, Israel reached out immediately. Even with that added scope, the total cost still ended up roughly in line with the next lowest bid, which had not included decking. He also went above and beyond on a skylight repair by having his crew prime the interior area to make things easier for the next crew. To top it off, when the job was done, Israel walked the roof with me and explained everything that had been completed. All around, this was an ideal contractor experience. I would absolutely recommend IB Roofing.

When I was climbing around on the roof installing Christmas lights I saw its condition and realized it needed replacing. I contacted IBR and German came out quickly to take a look and shared some initial observations, along with some preliminary options. A few days later he sent estimates on each option, clear and straightforward. I opted for the larger job of taking off the existing shingles--even though it was the first layer--and replacing any plywood as needed. I could have just had them put shingles on top of the existing roof but decided to go for the completely new roof, for peace of mind. I also added a skylight to the job, and German answered all my questions about the product details and costs. German and Israel responded quickly to questions, and communication throughout the job was great. The crew started on a Monday morning at 8am and finished by late afternoon on Tuesday. They even worked around my Christmas lights that were still in place! Overall I was super pleased with their work and the finished results. Fyi, payment is a $1000 deposit, half of the the amount upon starting and the rest on completion. City permit fees are extra.

He explained the process clearly, answered all of our questions, and kept us updated throughout the project. The crew was always on time, very professional, and respectful of our property. They worked efficiently and what stood out to us was how clean they kept the area around the house during the project. At the end of each day they made sure everything was picked up, which we really appreciated. The project moved along smoothly and the roof replacement was completed within the timeframe we were given. The finished result looks great and we're very happy with the quality of the work. For a full roof replacement, the pricing felt fair for the quality and service we received. Overall, it was a solid experience and we're glad we chose Equinox Roofing for the project. Our home's original tar and gravel roof needed to be replaced, and we reached out to Equinox…read morebecause of their reviews and because our neighbor recommended them. Avi, our assigned project manager, was our point person throughout the whole process and was incredibly helpful and patient. We received quotes from Avi for a torch down roof (which looked similar to the TAG roof) and asphalt shingles. While the shingles came with a higher quote, it actually wasn't too much more than the torch down quote. The work was set to start roughly 3 weeks after we received the contract, and my wife and I were back & forth on the roofing materials the entire time. Avi was super patient with us throughout that timeframe, and answered any and all questions that we had regarding the work involved for both options. We ultimately landed on asphalt shingles for roughly 90% of our roof and torch down for a flat section a day before their team was set to start. Fortunately for us, Equinox was super flexible in letting us decide on materials right until the last minute. The work actually started about 10 days earlier than their estimated start date, and I think they finished everything in about half the estimated time! On the first day, they fully removed our old roofing material and hauled that away, applied the underlayment, and started some shingles. On day two, they finished roughly 50% of the work and installed gutters (from their on-site seamless gutter machine) and downspouts. They had to wait for the city inspector to approve their in-progress work was done correctly, but once that happened a few days later, the team completely finished the job by the end of the day. Our new roof looks incredible, and we're so glad we went with Equinox for the job! Highly recommend them if you're in need of a new roof.

Scammers! These guys told me there were 2 options for fixing…read morea small roof leak - an expensive permanent fix or a temporary fix for a bit cheaper. I was told that the temporary fix would definitely get me through this season but not the next and the permanent fix would last until I get a new roof. I was considering getting a new roof, which they knew about, and provided a quote for, so I paid for the temporary fix only. The very next day it rains and it's clear the "fix" didn't work. I ask them to return and actually fix the leak this time so they come back and haphazardly throw some more tar on the roof. It doesn't rain for another 2 weeks but the moment it starts raining, the leak shows up again. This time when I ask them to come back, I'm told I need to sign a contract with them to replace the entire roof and that there are no refunds for the faux leak repair. CROOKS! Don't waste your money. Pay someone who knows what they're doing. Not this inexperienced father and son duo who will cheat you out of your money. Edit to address business response: I am thoroughly disappointed that you claim to state facts in your response. I was told specifically that the temporary fix would "100% resolve the leak". I was told the cause of leak was evident and the temporary fix would prevent leakage for the rest of this rainy season. I was given two options for repair - neither of which involved a full roof replacement. I was told the more expensive "repair" would last until I decided to replace my roof. I chose the less expensive option since I did intend on replacing the roof at some point. When your claims about the repair turned out to be false, you came a second time and explained why the temporary fix was inadequate. You then explained how the remediation performed that day would "absolutely fix the problem". This has nothing to do with the structural integrity of my roof or its age. There was no indication that the roof needed to be replaced immediately. The home water heater was recently updated and replaced. The area around its exhaust vent was likely damaged during replacement causing the leak immediately above the water heater. If you provided facts at the time of repair I would not be upset about your work and tactics. I was told the leak would be stopped with your repair. Period. It was not. I guess you get what you pay for. What made this worse was that you then tried to make me sign a contract for a FULL roof replacement locking me into your low quality services. Why on earth would I allow you to do anymore work on my roof when you lied to my face about the leak and your workman quality is clearly subpar? You also offer no kind of guarantee on your work so the risk is too high.

If you would like a stunning, 2-piece Spanish clay tile roof, give Ivan Maldonado at Roofing…read moreSolutions (in Hayward) a call. I guarantee you'll be delighted by the work his team does! I obtained 3 bids for a new roof, replacing my concrete tiles with 2-piece Spanish clay tiles. All 3 roofers seemed competent and planned to use the same materials. Bid #1 was in the stratosphere. Bid #2 (Ivan's) was slightly less than #1. Bid #3 was significantly less than #2. Despite my reservations about the price, Ivan got the contract, because of his responsiveness and because I preferred communicating with him and sensed that he cared the most about doing quality work. Having lived under the burden of a defective roof for 18 years, I have learned that choosing a roofer who cares about doing quality work matters more than price. The experience with Roofing Solutions was very positive, resulting in a beautiful work of art that catches your eye even a block away. At the end of the project, as Ivan and I stood in the street admiring his work, neighbors pulled up in their cars to express their admiration. Ivan's team did a great job throughout. The only major disappointment was a large change order that drove the already very high price even higher. The issue was a lot of rotted wood that needed placement. But even that wasn't entirely unexpected given that my roof had leaked for years. Plus, the extent of rot can't be fully determined until the existing roof is taken up. It became increasingly clear, as the project evolved, that Ivan was personally invested in ensuring a top-quality end result, which he could add to his portfolio. His business is on the younger side, and he wants to grow it, so reputation building and positive "word of mouth" is important to him. That was comforting and gave me confidence that proper attention would be given to details. Everything that Ivan promised during contract negotiations turned out to be true, including the timeline. Work was unavoidably delayed a month because the tile supplier was slow to deliver materials; Ivan intervened very assertively with the tile supplier to ensure that the delay wasn't worse. When work started, it took 2 weeks, just like Ivan predicted. The team was always extremely efficient, professional, respectful, and clean. If I noticed a stray water bottle in the bushes, which was rare, it would always disappear by the end of the workday, as would any other traces. Getting a new roof is loud! But the team was as unobtrusive as the nature of the work allowed, and they left no footprints. Every flowerpot and piece of furniture that was moved was restored to its original location. Nothing was damaged. I like that no subcontractors were used. Everyone on the roof was on Ivan's regular, permanent team. Ivan himself was there every day, which I also appreciated. He regularly texted me pictures and progress updates. I like the fact that he has a permanent team. They work well together, and 3 of them are brothers. I think with a regular, permanent team working under the watchful eye of an attentive boss who cares about his reputation, workmanship problems are less likely. It is a pleasure interacting with Ivan, and he's the most responsive contractor I've encountered. He always responds extremely fast to any questions, whether you text, call, or email. You never have to remind him of anything or ask twice. Whenever I tried to remind him of something that needed to be done, the response was that it was already done. When I texted him to ask if he could give me the remote controls for the new skylights the next time he was on site, he texted back immediately that he'd send one of his guys up with them right away. And within 10-15 minutes my doorbell was ringing. Whatever else Ivan may have been doing during those 2 weeks, he always made me feel like I had his undivided attention. With a roof, the most important thing is the installation of the underlayment beneath the tiles. No matter how good a roof looks, you can't truly know the quality of the workmanship until 5, 10, or even 20 years have passed. But on the professionalism of the execution as I observed it from the ground, and on the aesthetics, Ivan's team gets an A+. And the care and attention to detail that I observed gives me confidence that the underlayment was installed correctly. I am also fully confident that Ivan takes sufficient pride in his work that if any issues were to arise, he'd address them. Overall, by the time the project ended and I had observed the work that went into it, my concerns about the price had lessened. I would not hesitate to use Ivan again for any future roofing projects or to recommend him unreservedly to others for any roofing project. Regardless of the materials you choose, his team will give your roof the same care, professionalism, and attention that they gave mine.

They might be fine for new roofs but don't call them for repairs. Danny came out to inspect our…read moreroof and immediately recommended a new roof. He didn't offer an option for repair until I asked and instead went straight into discussing shingle colors and availability. Typical sales scare tactics were used like telling us a leak was from condensation due to the lack of ridge vents. We have gable vents and so does every other house on the block. By his logic, every old house without ridge vents should be leaking water. I've been in my attic, there's no condensation issue. Their price for a new roof seems fair but given our roof is 12-15 years old with two leaks, it's far from needing a full replacement. They also offered no warranty if we went with a repair. He also estimated my roof to be 25 years old when my home inspection and other roofers estimated 10-15 years old.
