Maybe the worst roofing company I've worked with. Only part of our contract was fulfilled. After full payment was made I followed up three different times to have the repairs completed only to hear nothing back for months. Go with a competitor. Cary was responsive in all communications and Kristina in the office was great about scheduling and payments. I really appreciated the repair photos (before and after), as I was not going to get on the roof to check their work (and wouldn't know what to look for anyway). Great job Dan and company. Timberline recently put a new roof on my house. They were thorough, replacing dry rotted wood, documenting it with pictures, they brought the building inspector out to look at it. The new wood was prime painted before it was laid down And they put some extra layers underneath the roofing material, flashing to prevent problems from happening in the future. The crew listened to my concerns and took steps to assure that it was done to my liking. I interviewed three reputable contractors and Timberline had the lowest bid. read more

Our community hired Timberline to do a roof inspection and they were to provide a full material and matrix report. They refused to provide the report and will not respond to repeated phone calls or emails. Timberline was paid about $14k and did not come close to fulfilling their duties. I recently used timberline roofing solutions when I purchased my first home this past September. They promptly came out for a roof inspection. There had been one done prior, by the previous owners. We had been told although our roof was under 5 years old, part of the roof was done incorrectly. ( It is overtop an extension & is flat, with no slope. There was risk of leaking during rain) Timberline validated this as well. We decided we didn't want to chance it & went with timberline to replace that section of the roof. They were very prompt & efficient. I talked to both Laura & Dan and felt very comfortable and confident in their services at all points during the process. After the roof was complete, we also had them cut a hole in the roof, as our bathroom fan was expelling into our attic instead of the roof. We're very happy knowing moisture won't be collecting in the attic. Overall very happy with the services they provided for me & I feel the price matched the excellent work. I was sitting in my office working when all of a sudden "there arose such a clatter." I went outside to see what was going on only to find a man getting ready to climb on a ladder to get to the roof. I should explain that we are in the process of selling our house and this was the buyers inspector and no one let me know he was coming. I asked if I could help him and he said, "I rang the bell....twice!" First, that didn't answer my question. Second, there is no way he rang the bell. Our doorbell is so loud that our neighbors can hear it if the door is open. I would never use a company whose employee would flat out lie to a person. Of course, he said that we needed a whole new roof. We are only 22 years into a 50 year roof. Needless to say, we are getting our own inspection! (oh, I'm from Martinez, not Bakersfield. I was insulted and got my call hung up multiple times by Timberline Roofing for no reason, including by the owner Dan. Here's my story. I just wanted to get a new roof so I got a quote Timberline, and so far so good, I tried to get the process started. But after emailing them a couple times without response I tried to call them, and they kept telling me they will call me back soon which they never did for the next 10 days. My roof is leaking this whole time so I tried to speak to the owner Daniel, and I was just in shock at how rude he was. He said he's been getting my calls and was wondering when I'll stop calling (!!! I've been polite and called once a day in those 10 days) and he said that he'll call me back when he's free (after 10 days?!) and accused me pretty strongly of wasting their time calling them for updates when they were planning on calling me back in the future. He said many more rude things on the call which I won't repeat here. I kept my cool since I still needed my roof fixed so I told him I'll be patient and wait for his call back (he could've just talked business to me during that call itself but oh well). He then proceeded to ghost me for the next few days and after a few more calls to them to ask when I can sign the contract to get my roof fixed and their "we'll call you back when we're free", I eventually gave up. Writing this review to warn whoever is trying to do business with them that this is the type of people you're dealing with, so don't expect any respect or responsiveness or customer service from them. Timberline just completed our roof and gutter installation and I would highly recommend them for your roofing needs. Although we are in some unprecedented times dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, I was impressed by the speed in which I received an estimate to completion of installation. Dan and Kendall were very responsive to my questions while Dustin explained the progress while the installation occurred. Timberline also coordinated the removal and reinstallation of our solar panels with Synergy Power which was seamless. I have two young children, and I was very pleased to observe their attention to detail keeping my home clean from debris during and after each day's work. Timberline Roofing Solutions did the inspection on our roof as we were getting ready to sell our house. Their report was less inspection and more statement of work for almost $10,000 worth of repairs for a roof that they said had "prematurely failed". A second inspection by another company showed that some work should be done - $265 worth, but that the roof was in good shape. Timberline was trying to extort work out of us - if we had trusted them, we'd be out $10,000 for work that didn't need to be done. This is the work of a scam artist, not a reputable company. read more

The guy that came out to provide a proposal was pretty knowledgeable, spent lots of time clambering over the roof, taking photos and then discussing the findings with me. Never heard back from them after that and no amount of follow-up could get them to contact me or return a phone call. I just don't get it. I was introduced to Timberline Roofing via my realtors. Timberline did my roof inspection and roof repairing. Subsequently the house we bought went through major renovation and I used their service again. During the course of the renovation, we had the solar guy breaking the roof tiles and wrongly blaming the roofing guys. Throughout the whole incident, I found Dan to be professional and calm - did not play the blaming game and quietly supplied more tiles (In the end, both the solar company and Timberline were very honorable. The solar company owned up to their mistakes and worked together with Timberline to fix the issue). A few days ago during the storm, we got a leak on our roof. Asked for a roofing estimate in early March 2018 and spoke to Dan who said he would come to the property the next day. Didn't hear anything for a week so I followed up. Got another voicemail that I would get something soon. Followed up 3 weeks later and no response. Here we are in late April and nothing. Very frustrating. We found many issues were still there after they reported the maintenance/repair was finished. And their response was "We cannot describe everything that we Don't do. We only describe what the repair procedures are that we do!  NOTE: nowhere in our estimate do we say we are going to cut down blisters." People... how could you trust this company if they are leaving themselves so much room to not doing the jobs? Why they marked those blisters in the inspection report but left those undone? Their contract can be total junk. According to their "logic," they can still claim valid even if they fix nothing, because they cannot describe everything they don't do? They covered our driveway with plastic to protect it, kept our front and backyard clean from debris's as well as using a magnet to pick up stray staples. After the roof was completed they came back without me asking to do touchup painting on facia boards. These guys are a class act. I'm a new homeowner and have been pulling my hair out trying to get contractors to deal honestly and to frankly just return calls asking for estimates. I had started to assume that poor communication skills and sloppy and at times dishonest business habits were endemic to the industry, but this is absolutely NOT THE CASE with Timberline. They did our initial pre-closing inspection last December and noted a few minor issues that we had them repair sometime in early spring. At the time I had some questions about the extent of the work that had been done, since I wasn't home the day they came to do the work and Cary came out, took a look, decided he wanted a bit more attention to detail and brought a new crew out right away to fix things up. He personally apologized that the work wasn't done up to his specifications the first time around. With the start of the new rainy season we started to have a problem with a leak we hadn't noticed last year in a spot that they had previously done work. I called them up and within the same week someone came out and seemingly fixed the roof. Unfortunately, it looks like the roof is leaking again and Cary has started to suspect the previous owner failed to disclose a more serous issue with the roof that would not be covered by their initial inspection and repair. Rather than wash his hands of his warranty, Cary promptly and politely scheduled an appointment for first thing tomorrow morning for someone to come out and take a look and see what they can do to finally get this repair nailed down. Granted, the fact that this leak can't seem to get locked down is frustrating, but every person I have dealt with (Dan, Cary and Laura) have been extremely professional. They return calls and emails promptly, take responsibility for the quality of their work and have been extremely patient with this new homeowner who asks lots of questions and has very high expectations for work done on their home. read more

I had the worst phone interaction with Cary. He claims to be the co-owner of the roofing company. Very rude on the phone, did not listen to the problem at hand, and cut me short by hanging up. I had a roof leak on our rental property which they had inspected prior to purchase. Their inspection cleared the roof with four minor repair recommendations. The roof leak was not related to the repair recommendations. Cary did not give me a chance to explain. He literally was so upset about my followup call and hung up, yes hung up on me. I've have basically tried to give my money to this company the past 9 months. Had them come out and give me an estimate on a re-roof last summer. I thought the estimate was very reasonable. The guy says he will fit us in between their commercial projects and I tell him to let me know the timing. Never heard from him again. Called and texted him multiple times to get an idea of next steps and no response. Now it's June of 2018 and I'm looking for another company to provide an estimate. DO NOT USE TIMBERLINE ROOFING!! As a local Realtor and a native of Livermore, I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with a roofing company! When my client wanted to write an offer on a home that had a $14k "BRAND NEW" Timberline roof, I was skeptical and advised him on getting a second opinion. We did and just as I expected, they did a shotty job. There were many repairs that needed to be fixed on a "brand new" roof and a permit with the city was never completed. Dan with Timberline offered to have the repairs done since there was a 10 year warranty. After 2 weeks of repeated calls and emails, they finally came out to make all the repairs and wrote a very detailed letter how they made "miscellaneous repairs". I had my trusted roofer reinspect Timberline's repairs and what do you know... no repairs were made, everything looked exactly the same! At least Timberline cleaned the few leaves off the roof of my client's new home, how thoughtful! read more

They advised us they could do the job (replace the entire roof on a back storage shed and correct and add to the slope of an Arbor Roof) and they'd get back to us with a quote. Week passes and no word from them. I called to follow up, and receptionist advised they'd complete the estimate and drop it off at our doorstep if nobody answered the door. Still nothing. Timberline was recommended by my Realtor to do a roof inspection when we were buying our home. They found some minor issues - nothing to worry too much about, and in addition to the inspection report, provided a quote to repair the few things they found. 9 months later, when I finally got around to calling them, they still honored the original quote, promptly scheduled the work, and took care of everything. This is the kind of customer service that is becoming increasingly hard to find. While I certainly hope I don't find myself in need of a roofer for a good long time, when that day comes, I'll be calling Timberline again. read more

Stay away! Save yourself a world of financial hurt. We had evidence of roof leak 3 months ago in our new home. On recommendations from our realtor we called Timberline Roofing for a roof inspections ($120) and Cary (one of the co-owners) came out and told us that multiple concrete tiles were cracked/out of place, tons of debris on the roof, and flashing that needed to be sealed. They told us that they were booked out 4-6 weeks but we waited because we wanted the work done right. In the meanwhile, we spend $3000 out of pocket on the interior damages from the roof leak. Oct 2019 they came out and "fixed the roof" for $3500. Fast forward 2 months later, I was getting ready for a family Christmas party and noticed WATER DRIPPING OUT OF A RECESSED LIGHT! Yes, it was in the the same area previous leak!!! We called Dan (the other co-owner) and he sent two guys out the next day. They spent a total of 10minutes if that on the roof and told us that the leak was from debris again. They emailed us blurry photos of the roof. Like multiple review before us, their communication was horrible and scheduling was challenging. We could forgive these two points, if they actually fix the leak. I don't know if it is due to laziness or incompetence that they can't get the job done. We just had a bad feeling that Timberline didn't know what they were doing or didn't care. So we called another roofer who actually found the leak. The new roofer told us that there were tons of debris under that tiles which we thought Timberline already cleaned out. They also gave us photos where you can actually see the evidence of leak (worn down felt paper, water staining, rusty nails/flashing). This new repair cost is another $6000 for the roof alone, and we aren't even talking about the new interior damage (that wouldn't have occurred if the leak was repaired prior). In addition to this review, we will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Timberline did not do what we paid them to do it is just that simple. read more

If I could I would give 0 stars, but that's not an option. Only used them based on our realtors reference from buying our house in which I hope our realtor doesn't do business with them anymore to save any new home owners the issues and frustration we've felt dealing with them for the last 9 months. First they did the initial roof inspection, which they found a few issue and gutters needed to be cleaned. We agreed to get the work done, Cary was suppose to reach out to set up time, which he never did I. I came home to find a business card left on my from door, then a few weeks later I get a bill for over 900 dollars. The first rain storm we have a leak in our roof in the area in which they should of initially done the work, called Laura which they did respond fast the only positive out of the whole situation. He came removed a shingles in the area and told us the issue I believe tried to seal the area but in the roan of course it's not going to to dry. The workers excuse was he had to go watch the raider game, which caused negligence on their part they should of put a tarp on until the rain stopped but he didn't because again getting business is not a priority. Come that night our roof is leaking like crazy causing interior damage. I Called Cary and Dan that night no answer of course we're up all night worrying about how bad the damage can get. No one called back I had to call in the morning to got Cary to answer they sent their worker. Next morning the worker came back out put a tarp on and Cary called and said they'll come back Monday 3 weeks go by and I go home from work early to find two workers on my roof unannounced. I ask the worker what's going on and they refer me to Cary who has the worse business practice ever takes no ownership of their negligence,Mind you this has been going on since December and still going on .. We never heard from them again I reached out to our real estate agent in which led to nothing. I rarely write reviews but I want to save people from dealing with this incompetent company and their employees. They have workers that probably have no sense of how to even do any roofing work, not proper training what I'm gathering from this.if they had any morals they would do the right thing I can fix it myself but it's the principal what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong. Said I would get an estimate by the end of the week. 2-3 weeks later having left 2-3 messages, there still was no call back. Felt if they didn't want to do the roof, that they just stated it. So we called and they said they would get back to us in an hour. No call. Next day...called again. They asked us about the details of the job again so we gave them the address and the problem. My anger and frustration has resolved. There was a significant delay in getting our inspection paperwork completed. At this time we have a beautiful roof and full inspection cleared. Initially, I had posted a more negative review, but my concerns were addressed and my end result is satisfactory. We did have some issues with remaining nails in my driveway after work was completed.
