We hired Mike to install irrigation in our backyard. Our previous irrigation system had leaks etc. During the site visit, to which Mike showed up drunk (which is fine, whatever), he mentioned that his workers would add irrigation to the pots, remove existing pipes, and bury the low-voltage electric wire which was going to be running along the pipes anyway. Mike canceled on the originally scheduled date once. Finally, Mike sent two guys to install the irrigation. They were fine and were happy to bury the electric wire when requested, but then later Mike came and rudely told me that that wasn't part of the spec, and that "these guys are stupid, if you ask them to wash your dishes they would do that too". I didn't appreciate the racist comment but let it go. But that was not all... there isn't much space between our home and the next one (think 12 inches or so), and he asked how we would get the siding repaired should we ever need to. I said I didn't know.. he said "maybe you can hire an Ethiopian to get in there, they're all thin because of the famine there". Truly WTF Anyway... judging the work itself - the installation seemed fine when it was done, but we later noticed and had to patch four leaks. I'm not sure if there are more. The piping they used, I was later told, was lower quality too. I'm not sure how long it'll last. I was unable to get competing quotes because we were short on time, but later I realized that his quote was a bit higher than others for the same work. He insisted I pay in cash, and so I did. I then spent literal WEEKS following up with him for an invoice (which I need for bookkeeping), and he kept blowing me off. He said things like "I had a family emergency", "I have 50 jobs this week", "I'm busy" and then simply stopped responding. He also said that it's just 2 minutes of work and that he would get to it... but he never did. read more

Man, I hate to give this a 1 star, because they started out great. However, I paid $400 in advance for a leak repair to be completed while I was on vacation and Mike said he did it. I came home and nothing was done. I asked him what happened and he said he couldn't do it and had to reschedule. That was about two weeks ago. He said he'd be onsite last weekend. No call, no show. I have called and texted him several times, and he has not responded at all to anything. The business line listed on Yelp (his cell) says it is not setup for messages now. I hope he's OK, and nothing happened to him! But, warning to others - I was able to get a hold of his worker Jorge, and Jorge said he was not paid and Mike was not responsive to him either. I'd go with someone else for now and see if Mike pops back up or not. I will for sure change my review if I'm ever able to get a response from Mike, or a refund. read more

Highly recommend Mike (and Juan) for all your irrigation needs. First off, Mike is a really cool guy. Great communication in scheduling, and easy to talk to. Second, he likes to educate you about your irrigation system, because he wants to save you money in maintanence. He spent time figuring out my system and explaining it to me. Third, he's honest and reasonably priced. He's been doing this for a long time, and you can see his brain working when trying to figure out what was wrong with our system. Monday morning Mike called and said he was in the area and could swing by to give me an estimate. One of my sprinkler valves was leaking continuously and another sprinkler head was broken off with water shooting out when the station was on. I had to stop running the front sprinklers while trying to find someone to fix the problem. It is not easy to find a good sprinkler repair person. Mike replaced all 3 of the rather old front yard valves with new ones and fixed the problem with the broken sprinkler head, all in about an hour. It is such a relief to be able to run the sprinklers now, especially with the expected heat to come. read more

Some highlights... - HARDWORKING: Louis' team tunneled a drip line 11 feet under my driveway without a single complaint. A truly hard task (other teams said they would have to cut the concrete of my driveway to make it work). Also, I purchased this house with completed landscaping and no irrigation, so Louis' team had to dig up the existing grass and place it back down once everything was installed - you can see it came out great. - GREAT COMMUNICATION: Louis was able to communicate to me every single piece of hardware he was going to use (Rain Bird Pro heads, Shark bite line) where most others had to get back to me days later.
