Prequel - I had one surgery, at a hospital, a year before being made to come here for an unrelated…read moresurgery. For the hospital surgery: no food or water after midnight, be at the hospital at 6am, surgery at 7am. Everything was wonderful. That's what I was expecting would happen here, but what happened here was a nightmare. Issue #1 - They don't tell you what time your surgery is scheduled for - ever. They will text you the day before to tell you what time to BE there, but they do not tell you what time your surgery is scheduled to take place. Issue #2 - They require that you have someone with you, to drive you home afterward; this is understandable but without that person knowing what time your surgery is and what time you're expected to be discharged: they're expected to clear a whole day to be available for a surgery that may only take a half hour. Issue #3 - The 'no food or water after midnight' rule is outdated and untrue. The American Society of Anesthesiologists issued guidelines in 1999, 2011, & 2017 that patients may have clear liquids up to 2 hours before surgery. The old guidelines/rules were invented in the 1950s when pregnant patients were 'anesthetized' with ether on a mask, which caused nausea and for the patient to vomit up their stomach contents. Today, an endotracheal tube is used to prevent this from occurring, so liquids should be allowed up to 2 hours prior to surgery. Issue #4 - Snarky Nurse. I pressed the 'call' button to ask a question - just one question - and I heard her say: 'Ugh, this girl is gonna keep my on my toes!' (Sorry, nurse, to have interrupted your wedding planning conversation to ask you a question, which the intake nurse said I was more than welcome to do as often as I liked. But I've been sitting in a curtained-off room for two and a half hours and no one has given me an update aside from 'It'll be about 45 minutes to an hour until your surgery' - and that was at Noon. It's now 2:30pm, I'm thirsty as hell because I haven't had any water for nearly 13 hours, and I have jack sh*t to do because I was told to not bring any books/phones/valuables - which I suppose is good because I saw some Google reviews where patients woke up to find some of their valuables 'missing'). Issue #5 - The attempted to gaslight me, and offered me unnecessary medication. After I asked: 'How much longer until my surgery?' the Snarky Nurse went and got the anesthesiologist's 'helper / #2 man' who came into my 'room' and told me: 'You're anxious.' I informed him that I was NOT anxious, just irritated that it has been nearly 3 hours since I was checked-in and no one will tell me what time my surgery is going to take place. I had spoken to him earlier, because everyone involved in your care that day will come over and introduce themselves, and that had been the only time I had spoken to him - and I was not anxious then, either. Now, he had no other reason to think otherwise - aside from Snarky Nurse, who likely did not want to 'deal' with me after my one very-normal question. He briefly disappeared, then returned and offered me 'some of the pre-surgery sedation medication to calm you down.' I told him - again - that I was not anxious; that I was mad about the wait time, frustrated about being so thirsty for the past 13 hours, and had no interest in receiving any 'shut up drugs' for simply asking what time my surgery was going to take place. Issue #6 - Overall Wait Time. I waited nearly FOUR HOURS to be taken back to surgery. That's 16 hours of no water, for a person who dehydrates quite easily. Absolutely unacceptable. Issue #7 - Billing. I was required to pre-pay for the surgery, which I did. The young lady I spoke to informed me that I would not receive any further bills or charges from this Center. Months after my surgery, I received a bill for 'anesthesia services' for over $200. This qualifies as a 'Surprise Medical Bill' which I believe violates the 'No Surprises Act' which went into effect on January 1, 2022. And I did report it as such. Issues I've Found by Others - one Google user claims to have gotten a staph infection from this Center. Several Google users have stated that their surgeries were cancelled on them. A couple of Google reviewers stated that they were over-charged by this Center. One person stated that they were man-handled by a nurse after being woken up from anesthesia on the very spot that he had just been operated on. One Last Note - A Boomer-aged woman who works there was having computer issues and was on speakerphone with an IT guy and she kept shouting into the phone: 'IS MY PASSWORD STILL CATHOLIC HEALTH 4 ?!?' Every patient in the pre-op area now knows her password. A password to a computer, within a medical network of computers, that very likely collectively contain the private medical information of many patients. Probably not the smartest thing to be shouting over & over again, when everyone on the floor can hear it.

Now I have an underlying infection and the skin is awful. I literally walked out of an appointment with my general practitioner's office and drove to WellNow in Orchard Park. As soon as I walked in, Sue at the desk was professional, kind, and listened. She got me set and showed me to a room. I wish I'd gotten the name of the medical staff member who came in next to get the basics and ask questions. She was also kind and listened and noted everything. I then saw Kyle Violanti, a PA. Kyle asked if I'd be okay with him consulting a dermatologist friend. I said please do. This is how medicine should be. It's okay to not know everything - you should be willing to consult and help the patient. I left with a diagnosis, prescriptions, and his dermatologist friend's office info to do a follow up. The staff at this WellNow listened and cared more today than my GP's office has in the months I've been dealing with them. I've also learned the steroids they prescribed made it worse. I could hug the whole WellNow staff.

The doctors and nurses here have always been incredibly good to me, for whatever reason I find myself in their office. Just recently I visited because of a severely sore throat; fearing strep I gave a call and they were able to see me that afternoon. When I arrived, I'll admit I was a bit of an emotional wreck because of how awful I was feeling, but their services reassured me that I'd end up being alright. The doctor and nurse who aided me were incredibly nice and understanding, as well as accommodating. In the past I've come here when I broke my pinky finger, and after I'd sprained my ankle really bad, which they always recommend before being sent to the emergency room/immediate care (unless there's a legitimate emergency - like when I'd been hit by a car). Both those times the doctors had given me excellent advice to help me back on my feet in no time. I've also gotten flu shots, immunizations and basic check-ups; they basically provide you with everything you need here. This place has gone under a couple of renovations since I was small, but the offices are incredibly nice and very clean. It's easy to be comfortable here, which is ideal in a place you can find yourself starting to feel a little nervous. I would definitely suggest this office, especially families with small children.

I wanted my 4 year old to been seen after his big sister came down with strep. I first stopped at Focus and walked right out. Though they had no wait, they didn't have any rapid strep tests. So I drove down the street to give WellNow a try. Their parking lot was packed so I almost just kept going to head to the pediatric urgent care. But I decided it was worth a shot. The receptionist was kind. She took my sons info but gave me a heads up that 9 patients were ahead of him. We waited with a bunch of teenagers and adults but they had a Pac-Man Arcade machine and a Slurpee machine if I got desperate and needed to entertain him if the wait dragged on. In my mind I was giving them 30 minutes before I would head home and try the pediatrician the next day. 20 minutes later our name was called by a very friendly nurse who cheerfully greeted my little boy. The halls and rooms very clean. After being in the room for a few minutes a very child friendly PA named Sawyer came in with an assistant. He discussed my concerns. Then moved on to check out my son. Right away my 4 year old was comfortable with his fun and gentle approach. Even the nurse that came in to swab his throat knew all the tricks to put Parker at ease. They were so kid friendly and in tune with my 4 year olds possible worries that he did not stress out or cry once. This is HUGE-- my son is super sensitive and sick kids are extra emotional. I cannot praise them enough for the kid friendly environment they created with the team that worked last night. They addressed my strep concern and then asked about his cough and helped with that secondary concern. They for sure went above and beyond. **Any parent wondering if there is a kid friendly urgent care in the Lancaster/Depew area-- this is the one. Especially if Sawyer and his team are working. ** (One suggestion would be to allow your TV to switch channels/have Disney or Netflix so parents of young ones could entertain them with out sugar and video games ;)

Another woman came in and cleared my impacted ear, and gave me discharge papers. I said what am I supposed to do for relief , antibiotics?? Etc she said we don't give antibiotics out for no reason. I was given a prepared paper with directions to get meds over the counter, no specific instructions, I called back and said what meds otc so I get , she said whatever you need otc. I'm on meds for RA that can have very bad side effects if not taken properly. No one gave me ANY Advice on what to do . I now have this infection in my chest and was told I have to wait for up to 48 hrs for test results!!!! This is insane . Never again . Shameful

There is no information given to the patient about whether they are having a screening mammogram or a diagnostic mammogram. If they decide that you need a diagnostic mammogram, they'll probably reschedule you, because the radiologists are rarely there to do a diagnostic mammogram. Which begs the question: Who's reading the other mammograms? No answer when that question is asked, in fact, the Radiologist technician was very uninformative, and wouldn't even provide a phone number for the follow-up care, which was across town and was supposed to be to discuss the results of the mammogram. The receptionist was very polite and friendly, but she's new and will probably leave soon. I'd head to a center that actually has radiologists in the building.

Fortunately, EVERYONE here with whom I dealt was competent, compassionate, informative, and exceedingly personable/friendly. From the check-in person to the nurses (Julie, Stephanie, Lindsay) to the anesthesiologist to Dr. Diaz, my procedure was thoroughly bearable. I even brought a book with me expecting to be waiting around a while but I didn't need it. After my initial vitals were taken Mike the PA came in a few minutes later. He was friendly and listened to my concerns. I thought everyone here was lovely including the xray tech on. I didn't catch her name but she was super sweet and friendly. I was in and out in under an hour and this was with a chest xray and breathing treatment. Mike sent my prescriptions in immediately and they were ready basically in 10 min at my pharmacy. I would highly recommend coming here and make an appointment if you can.
