When you need a locksmith who is On time, Knowledgeable, Efficient, Quick, and Courteous call Premier Locksmith! I had an ignition switch issue with my wife's Chevy Malibu. The switch was locked up completely. My wife called and made an appointment for Monday at 9AM. Elliot called ahead when on the way and arrived when expected. He knew exactly what the was the problem was and had the right strategy for doing the work. Elliot had the right tools for the job and performed it without any damage or fuss. 40 minutes later the switch was repaired several new keys were ready. The keys and repair were made so they were the same as before. No need to change out or re-key anything else. Our old keys still worked as well. Easy payment with both a physical receipt as well as a virtual receipt since they use Square (squareup.com) as a card processing tool. While I was ready to try the repair myself, I realized quickly the repair went beyond what I wanted to perform. I am glad I waited for Premier Locksmith to do the job. I later learned Elliot gets referrals all of the time from car dealers for this kind of work. If car dealers can trust Premier Locksmith that makes me feel great about trusting them too. If I could give 10 stars, I would!!! My car was stuck downtown Oakland on a parking meter during Christmas break for 2 days (as I accidentally dropped my key in a puddle, and they refused to work). Horrible. They said they could make a duplicate for my Alfa Romeo and they seemed friendly and nice and told me to call back on Monday to schedule. The first red flag is that the guy wanted to know my address before he would give me a price. I was suspicious but I figured maybe it was about drive time. Then the guy said it would be about 2 weeks until he could come because he was going on vacation - but that maybe his assistant could come out on Friday (we were speaking on Monday) if I made myself available all day, maybe the assistant could squeeze me in. So Friday rolls around and the assistant calls. I make my boyfriend leave his office to meet him. After 2 and a half hours (!!!) the assistant says he can't make the key. My boyfriend had to reschedule a meeting to sit around in the garage of our building for 2.5 hours and the kid couldn't even do the work. The kid leaves and says he will call me. He doesn't. Then finally the day approaches when the boss dude (back from his vacay) is scheduled to come. I haven't heard a word from them since the kid spent 2.5 hours flailing. I call the locksmith. He says he is going to come the next day after he drops off his children at daycare at 8:30am. I rearrange my schedule to be home at 8:30am. The next day he calls at 8:15. When I say I will be home in 15 minutes he seems miffed, says "I'll call you later" and hangs up. 9am I call him and say "hey can you give me an estimate of when you will be here?" He says he has a very tight schedule and had to skip my job because I wasn't ready. He may be able to squeeze me in later today if I am waiting at my house and ready to have him come over with 5-10 minutes notice. He won't guarentee that he will come and he won't give a rough estimate of what time of day he will come. I complain that I can't wait around all day long in hopes of him maybe showing up, tell him that I already disrupted my schedule to be home at 8:30am and point out that I have been very patient up until now. He repeats in an angry voice that he has a tight schedule and then tells me he won't come at all. He is refusing to do the job. Worst of all? I called another locksmith and they suggested we make the key a different way (call the dealership for the key code rather than take an imprint from the lock like Premier was *trying* to do). I called, got the code and had a key made within an hour. It cost about 10% of what Premier was going to charge me. PS Notice that the other reviews for this place are all by people with very low number of reviews and friends? And the first review was written in exchange for getting a special price? "I ended up getting two extra keys for $100 and the promise to give him a good review on Yelp" Who are you going to trust? read more

Perhaps the nicest locksmiths in the world. They came highly recommended by my local hardware store, Center Hardware. I've had two interactions with them, which were both positive. The first time, I needed to get a copy of a key made for my VW, which they weren't able to do for me at the hardware store. Premiere was totally upfront about the costs and the potential risks of the copy not working, which I really appreciated and decided to think about it. Later, I found an old key that needed to be reprogrammed, so called Premiere back. Again, they told me all the costs and risks and gave me a few options for when it could get done. They called me back when they said they would, we were able to set an appointment, and Elliot did the job quickly and for a fair price, and I even got a free drink from their fridge when I was paying. I lost the key to my sister's 1998 Toyota 4-Runner, and so I called the locksmith up and asked him. He quoted me two prices - one to come to him to pick up the key, and the second to have him come by. I opted to go to his shop and pick up the key. Since it was my sister's car, and she's in Sacramento, she had to fax her proof of ownership and a short note authorizing me to pick up the key. Then I went to pick up the key, had a small difficulty in finding his location (no sign), but once there, got the key, processed the payment, and was on my way. I contacted these guys after needing to duplicate the keys for my newish Volvo. I had already talked to the dealer who wanted way, way too much for duplicates. As the dealer parts guy explained to me, these new keys have an electronic transponder that communicates with the car so that someone without the correct key can't steal your car. In any event, the dealer insisted it was this reason why the new keys would cost so much. After looking around, I remembered Premier Locksmith from the work that they do down at City Tow (now Autoreturn.) Anyway, they were way professional. They explained everything in simple and no BS fashion and charged me a fraction of the price the dealer wanted. Overall - Great service, great price, great product. I RSVPd for a time slot. I got a call from the mgr about 45 minutes before he was to arrive to let me know that he was wrapping up the last job and would be over. Good sign. 2nd good sign as he started the work....the worker got a call on his cell phone and he answered it and I thought oh no....a talker on my dime etc....well after about a minute, he said to his friend that he would have to call him back as he was in the middle of job. The workerguy was really really really nice. He was prompt and fast as could be and friendly. He explained everything upfront as to the cost for the labor per hour and the parts cost so it was not to be a surprise at all. My service call was for a home rekeying of our front door of our house. I was faced with buying a second key for My Lexus. The dealer wanted over $75 for the exact same thing I received from Brook at Premier Locksmith for only $15. It was the Key blank with the case for the remote module. Since these are coded keys with a chip I must use an existing module to put in the case. Dealing wih Brook was a good experience. He responded to my emails, answered my questions and provide me with very helpful information. I purchased the Key, sent photos of my original key and he cut and sent the new key to me within 4hours. I received my key in less than 4 days. When I tried it the key worked perfectly. I couldn't have asked for better at a great price. Ok, I'll admit the guy, Brooks asked me to write a review and I agreed because of the INSANE amount of money they saved me over the dealership. Anyway here is the scenario...I've got my three year old Ducati gathering dust in the basement. I've been toying with the idea of selling it and recently I've really needed the cash. So I agree to sell the bike to a friend of the family at a fair price. I only have one key with the bike, because that's how it was sold to me, but the friend wants an extra key. Ok, no big deal I figure and drop by Munroe Motors for a copy. HOLEE SHIIITE!!!...I know Ducati parts were expensive but this was a total shock. Turns out this bike uses special keys and since I never got the "red learning key" with the bike the dealer had no way of making new keys except to replace all the locks and the computer box on the bike. The total cost to me was going to be over $2500!!!! I was stunned and amazed to say the least. After making some calls I was referred to Brooks at Premeir Locksmith. He told me he could copy my key for $65. I ended up getting two extra keys for $100 and the promise to give him a good review on Yelp. The keys worked perfectly, and the bike is sold (Sob!) but if any other Yelpers out there have newer Ducati's DON"T LOSE THE DAMN RED KEY!!!!! read more

Brook is the guy to deal with if you need a replacement key for your lexus. Both of my keys had broken. I gave him my key code and he sent the new keys the next day. They both worked great. You just have to put your old electronics in the new keys. $15 from Brook or around $75 from a dealer. Which way should I go? Doesn't take a rocket scientist. Deal with Brook.
